ok so as a tntduoer i aggressively defend ctntduo to haters that rhey absolutely could have a healthy relationship and i dont need to explain y to U ofc but i also acknowledge that they were bad for each other in canon and it would take a lot of time for things to work

basically imo i see that quackity would be the "vampire" in the duo for sucking the relationship dry initially. quackity had the worst most bloodsucking relationship with schlatt and then felt like karlnap didn't care and think and remember abt him enough.

with his rivalry with wilbur he'd absolutely lash out at any chemistry and infatuation they have initially, bc he'd want any new attempt at a relationship (especially with wilbur) to have the other person prove themselves worthy by being willing to sacrifice everything for cq like quackity had in his past relationships (see: cquackity proposing wilbur becomes his vice president, a mirror to his relationship with schlatt) he'd repeat patterns by schlatt repeatedly convincing himself that it's a defense bc wilbur was a man of power like schlatt too- who rlly did spit at the mere suggestion of being a vice president- i know it's canon that he's a mimicry of all those who have harmed him n the server in the past but god is the reflection with his relationship with wilbur neat.

oh there's definitely lots of parallels between tnt duo and Q's past relationship

both these bitches need constant reassurance ngl they're very mentally ill - Q would definitely push Wilbur to see if he actually cares about him (not just his ass/hj), but also Wilbur definitely would "act out" and be insufferable as a desperate, silent cry for reassurance that he is in fact loved and he isn't too much

idk i think there's a case to be made for either of them initially being a "vampire" in the relationship, so I'd say it's probably mutual, fluctuating depending on the day or hour

THAT BEING SAID they have a type of relationship where they definitely would stick together despite all that - they're like, literally obsessed with each other, and they're the closest to a safe space for one another - and i do think they'd just almost accidentally end up developing a pretty healthy (if you ignore codependency lmao) relationship over time purely cause they just cling to each other and actually care

Wilbur will often play badly on purpose. He knows something, but if he sees he's losing horribly, he will just scream "all in", starts putting the cards he has down in pairs, and then goes "uno" and the last card down, in the end arguing that he clearly won.

simply for chaos.

Wilbur does not know how to play poker, hes begged Q to teach him, Q refuses too because he thinks is its funny

(Q thinks he looks pretty sitting with him at a poker table instead of against him)

Semi related: I think Q has 100% bet a night with Wilbur in a game knowing he was gonna win just to mess with Wilbur a bit

I hear you, I love this, but I also raise you:

Wilbur doesn't know poker, but he knows Quackity

He doesn't win, but he takes Quackity down with him. He knows Q's tells, and while it doesn't always work, cause Quackity's legitimately good at it, often he still manages to tell when the man is bluffing

Wilbur refuses to learn to play, cause then Quackity would be able to do the same to him. They've seen so much of each other, all possible sides, at their most vulnerable and most closed off - bluffing works sometimes, but there's no-one else who knows them as well as they know each other. They are each other's weaknesses.

They'll be playing with like, idk maybe Sam, Foolish, and Fundy, with whom Q usually wins, but then if Wilbur joins them he will actively comment if Q's bluffing or not, just to mess with him. They'll try asking - maybe even bribing him - and he'll either say incorrect tells (cause he loves messing with everyone), or he'll just be like "it's just obvious, idk what to tell you" (cause in all fairness he himself doesn't even know it all that much, it's just intuition)

After a while Quackity learns to trick Wilbur, but the man still manages to read him a good half of the time.

Tldr, yeah, Quackity absolutely prefers it when Wilbur's just his pretty arm candy, cause the alternative is him losing with people he'd normally easily win

As a professional Wilbur kinnie and this mf's partner who had seen him pole dancing before, I say this is 100% true and canon and holy shit, cool ;-;

okay so a headcanon

Quackity does pole dance, but Wilbur instead of only seeing it as something sexual, he mostly sees it as some sort of art like ballet, something gracefull. Of course, sometimes he gets aroused and he always is blushing, but he is usually just blushing from looking at Quackity doing sonething he sees as so dificult.

Wilbur admires Quackitys habilities, and sometimes Quackity tries to teach him a bit, and after sometimes Wilbur learned just a bit, like how to climb the pole, how to go down (wich i think he learned a sometime after learning to climb, so usually Quackity would have to help him get down, and now Wilbur sometimes Wilbur acts like he cant is "afraid of the heights" and he needs Quackitys help, just so Quackity would carry him down) and like really simple postures, but its nothing near how professional Quackity is, espcially since Quackity does phisycal things daily and Wilbur just does that when he is with Quackity while Quackity is doing something physical

Ok so

I love this as a concept, and the first part is absolutely true

BUUUUUTT - and here's some random Fern trivia - I actually do pole, and I'll be honest, Wilbur is not learning to climb without determination. The very beginning your skin hurts like an absolute B I T C H. Like, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he couldn't do it - it's not impossible, obviously - but if it's just him learning a couple tricks, then he's not gonna learn to climb, especially if we go with the hc that his body isn't in the best shape post revival

Also he'd have to jump down and have Q catch him, cause I can't imagine the amounts of leg and abs strength it'd require to go down a pole while holding someone else in your arms--

Also pole isn't that high off the ground, and always during practice you'll have a mattress underneath, so jumping off even from a higher point is usually safe. And before climbing you learn to sit, and alongside that you pick up on how to safely jump/slide off a pole from lower heights

But like in all fairness I'm being mostly pedantic, cause pole is my favourite sport ever, and I had to temporarily give it up recently, so now I'm hanging onto any chance to talk about it lmao--

Anyway I'd say he probably just leans a couple simple spins

AHHH THIS IS WHAT I NEED, THIS IS WHAT I WANT, I ALSO HAD IDEAS FOR THOSE CHARACTERS BUT DIDN'T HAVE THE MOTIVATION TO THINK MORE ABOUT IT AND I LOVE THISSSSSSSS

I wanted to do a fun little creative challenge for myself so why not fully re-envision the Doom Syndicate just to see what people think.

Lady Doppler -> Stormella : A mad scientist who dreamed of controlling the weather at a young age. After countless experiments over fruitless years, she finally made her breakthrough in adulthood after stealing some of Megamind's tech and incorporating it into her own to give herself the superpower to control and manipulate storms. Chaotic evil to its finest, Stormella relishes in doing evil acts purely for the sake of it and the fear that comes from others.

Behemoth -> Henchmonster : Accidentally created by Stormella during one of her failed inventions, Henchmonster is her minion who serves her without much question. Despite his large size and brute power, Henchmonster often displays the attitude of an eager child wishing to have his mother be proud of him. Unfortunately, Stormella could hardly care about that and just wants him to follow orders. Having family outings? Drawing pictures together? Such nonsense. Henchmonster still tries however despite never getting through to her.

Lord Knighty-Knight -> The Dark Knight of Darkness : An interdimensional knight turned dark mage conqueror, he was banished from his realm for his crimes and sent to what was assumed an uninhabited realm. That realm turned out to be Earth. Originally vastly powerful, with enough magic to darken the planet, Megamind successfully nerfed him of most of his power in a little dark cube. He's been desperately seeking to reclaim it ever since and turn Earth into his new dark empire. The big problem however is that without his power he is incredibly weak to any form of light and quick to flee the scene even at the hands of a flashlight. As such, he mostly comes out at night to plan and scheme.

Pierre Pressure -> Mr. Mesmer Izer : Once a down on his luck mime just trying to make an average living, one day he'd find himself struck by a falling space meteorite. Surprisingly he survived but found he could no longer speak genuinely after the impact. On top of that he began developing the strange power of biological hypnosis. It wasn't before long Mr. Mesmer took to a life of crime with his newfound power, stealing all sorts of money and items from anywhere he could and becoming a regular enemy of Megamind's.

What do you all think? Admittedly it was pretty fun to think up all of this stuff.

I just looked at the Megamind tag to see if my post was tagged right and I found this.

I'd just like to say, that my rewrite was fueled by lots of negative emotions, and I don't wanna hate on things that aren't meant for me.

But I am the targeted audience. We are the targeted audience. Kids now don't know the original, it was made for old fans, hoping to also put on board a new generation. But honestly, even younger people should be able to notice the lacking in writing, like hell, children these days grow up watching Bluey. If we can get shows like that, like The Owl House, why does a sequel of something loved by now older audiences have to be so bad?

I'm not trying to say I'm better than professionals who took part in writing of Megamind Rules and the movie, I am not, but I want to show my ideas, since I'm not regulated by company executives.

I'm simply disappointed.

I see a lot of of awesome Megamind fanart that I'd LOVE to reblog...

and then I see negativity about Megamind Rules and Megamind vs. The Doom Syndicate. I want to engage and share the work, but I can't encourage that kind of negativity. >:/

Whoops I forgot to finish it and post it, here it is now

ok, let's get into it

Disclaimer, I have not seen the new movie or show, I couldn't even get through the entire trailer, it made me cringe so deep in my bones. I've started watching Schaffrillas' review of it, and I gave up like half way through anyway, deciding I can take a few of the tropes from it, and it needs a rewrite from scratch.

I'm also not gonna put it in the post as more than a few points, I don't have the time at the moment to figure out some actual dialogue, proper way of representing the themes I'm gonna put it in, or think of jokes.

so I present to you

Megamind and the woke propaganda

(it's a funny haha joke because I want to include a lot of "woke" themes in this re-write)

I'd say the plot of Megamind 2 (let's just leave it at that, it's good enough, it doesn't need no Doom Syndicate, that title is so bad) begins over a year after the events of the first movie. Over that time, not much happened. Metro man became Music man, he started publishing his music, and there's a bit of comedy about nobody being able to recognise him, even though he looks basically the same, just a parody of the superhero genre.

That's also an important point. Megamind was always a clever parody of the superhero genre, the same way Shrek is a parody of fairytale movies Disney makes. The new content we got from Megamind lacks that soul entirely, making it a simple superhero movie with some incredibly unfunny jokes, neither fully marketed towards children, nor adults. I want my version to be a continuation of what the first movie was, still holding the idea in mind, and definitely not ignoring some major plot points of it (like EKHEM megamind Vs the doom syndicate EKHEM did).

Roxanne went back to being a TV presenter, but now with the lack of action from Metro Man and Megamind, there isn't just as much important stuff to talk about. She becomes unsatisfied with her job, wanting to do something good for humanity.

Minion on the other hand starts exploring his identity. In his free time, since Megamind is mostly sat in the "evil lair" changing his old designs and creating new ones to help the city, Minion starts working in the donut shop. He is just used to working for someone and it brings him some form of comfort, as well as he discovers his love for baking. His work becomes his life, and he develops so much with baking, he basically takes over the place. During that time, now being the employer, not the employee, he realises he isn't a minion anymore. He is his own being. And he wants to call himself Chum, which I wanna keep, because the comedy in Minions being the more recognizable movie, and the name chum being both a pun on fish, and how he's Megamind's friend are iconic. We get a bit of trans issues shown, simply by Megamind's behaviour towards it. It's not simply shown and said that Chum is trans or whatever, but the phrases would ring a familiar bell to the trans community, like "You'll always be Minion to me", "I've always called you Minion, you can't expect me to now be able to change it" and stuff like that. We get a plotline how Chum and Megamind grow to be equals, and Megamind switches to calling him by his chosen name eventually.

Megamind's plotline, the most important one in the movie, BECAUSE IT'S ABOUT HIM, simply shows his struggles with fitting in society, that isn't just people in prison. There could be some autism parallels, and he'd be trying his best to understand how people work, but simply being unable to be like them, ending up excluded. That was a thing already mentioned in his backstory, and I'd love it to be explored in the sequel. He's an alien, he spent his childhood in prison, I know we had enough autism representation with aliens and robots, but it could be handled well.

I really want to explore more of the characters we were already shown, rather than putting like 15 new people into the story for no reason. I want to give them space to grow, and flesh them out properly.

I'd like to bring back the character of Bernard. He was already a character in the original, why won't we just expand him instead of giving us new marketable toys of some stupid (literally stupid, they were all so stupid) villains. He and Roxanne start bonding, since they're both so interested in debunking theories, research, basically detective work. Bernard was an absolute Megamind fan, and he knew his stuff, and Roxanne gives him a new perspective on things, when he got bored of Megamind's new good persona. They become good friends, and are really helping with pushing the plot forwards with figuring out what's going on behind the scenes. And Bernard being such a fangirl for Megamind, he must've been active on Reddit or something. He shows Roxanne the world of the internet, we get the new age stuff, and they start a podcast. We get Megamind becoming what Titan once was, an incel. Hey, people writing Megamind, we already started discussing the problem of incel behaviour, can't we continue it INSTEAD OF SOME NDISBDIDNWKDBBDNDJSBDJDBDBDISNSKFHEIBDID (ok, I'm getting emotional, sorry, I'll stop). The point is, Megamind gets really jealous and only seeing Metro Man's and Titan's treatment of women before, he is confused. He is acting up, and can't understand male and female friendship. In the end he learns, and actually gets redemption from his incel arc, instead of being locked up in prison like Hal (deserved in this case, but you know what I mean)

We need a new villain. And here I am to serve it to you. The main villain is some corporation guy, maybe from the news, whose marketing died down because of the lack of fighting between good and evil. Metro Man is no longer there to star in his ads, and he finds out how Titan even came to be. Using that idea, he starts creating villains and heros on his own (Hawkmoth from MLB almost) and using them for monetary gain. The city becomes an absolute mess, and when Bernard and Roxanne figure out the conspiracy, the team has to stop him and bring peace again.

I'm afraid it might get too "woke", with all the analogies to "woke" issues. But Megamind it's my story and I get to choose the themes (/ref to that meme with Link).

Let's not forget that the original Megamind movie was supposed to be a caricature of the superhero genre, so making marketable superheros would be an amazing meta joke and actual criticism of Disney, now owning Marvel, like Dreamworks always did.

The resolution could be simply erasing super hero bullshit from society. No more big bad villains, no more heros. Some people have superpowers, and they simply use them in their lives, like people able to fly working high up in the air, cleaning skyscraper windows from the outside, etc.. Megamind creates tech that makes life easier, Chum starts a chain of his own bakeries, Roxanne and Bernard love doing their true crime podcast, and Metro Man's music career goes further.

It would be a story about fitting in. Great for children and adults. It would be a story about being different, having issues, but still being able to find your people and use your weirdness for good. I feel like I could write so much more about it, but I might need to be institutionalised if I spend a second longer thinking about this whole shit show.

Maybe I've watched too many series and not enough movies and that's too much to fit in one hour and a half cinematic masterpiece. But who cares, they made a series anyway. I can make a series. FFS.

So, that's about what I thought of, I do not accept any criticism, this is my magnum opus and I will die on this hill (I'm kidding, I'd love to get all the constructive criticism you guys have, as well as your own ideas ;-; I need to talk to someone about this thing because I'm going insane)
