I remember hearing that some people design their rooms by imagining a dragon will need to get through it, make sure it has nothing to trip or bang against. We could totally use elephants as our hypothetical pedestrian substitute when designing roads.
Viola the circus elephant didn't escape, she politely removed herself from an uncomfortable situation. role model to us all

I am not delusional enough to think I could do that, I still haven't figured out knitting in a circle without a big hoop made of hooks, and yet...
I still want to try
Knitting youtuber: I like to knit for 25 minute long blocks at most at a time with a 5 minute break within each so I do not get injuries.
Me who did a 14 hour marathon on the weekend with a team of 7 spinners and knitters to shear a sheep and knit a man’s jumper in as short a possible time:

girl typing a very specific question into google search bar, scrunching her face as she takes time to make sure she hasn't made any spelling errors, hitting enter, shaking her head as google only presents her with unhelpful websites that don't answer her query at all, moving her cursor back to the search bar and clicking on it so she can carefully write 'reddit' at the end, hitting enter again, sighing with relief as she finds a link to a reddit post asking the exact question she needed answered posted in a subreddit for a very niche topic, finally moving her cursor to click on the link, wondering why she didn't go straight to the subreddit earlier, only to be met with a deleted comment with a reply from the OP stating 'that was very helpful, thanks', sighing with frustration as she moves her cursor back to the search bar so she can copy the link and paste it into the wayback machine,

Found my 53yo very-much-not-online father in the kitchen today meticulously arranging cutlery on the countertop and i was like 'what are you doing' and he looked up at me with the world's most shit-eating grin and said "Your mother told me this is how you rick-roll the Youth" and i looked over and it was fucking. same. I love my support system of abled people who take me around, but they always ask if im ever going to learn, when I respond with reasons I really shouldn't, like incredibly distractible, frequently forget where I am or where I am going, frequent migranes that make me go blind for a few seconds, etc, all things that would be bad, should they happen at speed in a death machine, they nod and accept the explanation, but a few months later they forget and ask again
it's annoying i guess.
cities should be more walkable than they are
like i have rolled through wet asphalt trying to take my wheelchair to school 5 times
disabled people who can't drive no one understands us
abled people don't understand the idea that you just...can't drive! that we have to rely on public transit or other people just to leave our houses! it's an isolating feeling, especially when you have to go through applications just to use the disabled transit programs.
my mom's been trying to convince me to drive again, I was practicing around covid time and ended up giving up because we couldn't find time and I was tired of it. but now she keeps going "oh but you drove in the past!!" and blocking my explanations of why I don't want to.
but this isn't meant to be a vent, it's to support my point.
I told her I'm photosensitive and her response was that she is too but it's "gotten better with age" which sure, but if I can't keep my eyes open as a passenger, do we really want me on the road? if I have a neurological condition that makes my feet freeze up, do we want me to use the pedals? and don't even suggest hand controls, my hands are even worse. and god forbid I learn to drive and then don't get medically approved to drive.
but for some reason, these are seen as excuses.
so if you've ever gone through this, i completely understand and get it. i don't enjoy relying on others but it's what we have to do.

I do not usually make posts like this but recently I have seen a lot of content on Instagram, Twitter and I think tiktok too misunderstanding the meaning of intrusive thoughts, which may cause people experiencing them to be upset.
I have tried to shortly explain the difference of impulsive and intrusive and hope it will help people to understand and use the words correctly.
Reblogs are very much appreciated!

You’re a regular office worker born with the ability to “see” how dangerous a person is with a number scale of 1-10 above their heads. A toddler would be a 1, while a skilled soldier with a firearm may score a 7. Today, you notice the reserved new guy at the office measures a 10.

I'm making a lich ruled kingdom. the phylactery? the local magic lake.
But I just had a better/worse idea for a phylactery
tungsten ingot.
look the magic lake was made by some long dead god of necrotic power (ironic i know) and he made it antimagic producing except for necromancy. it heals and purifies all it touches, to someone's definition of "heal" and "pure".
But the tungsten ingot is completely unrelated, it's just some wizard the next kingdom over who wants to be Really Very Immortal.
There are some themes to my world: death is a part of life, and when it is gone you will no longer feel alive, the future is unforeseeable because free will is real, fucking with the timeline is very hard without a spaceship/spacesuit, and memory is a fickle thing.
there are more, but I like those ones and they aren't part of my much more involved and complicated economic theory i've been trying out.
