Do you guys remember how I had an idea for an au where Todd’s family is Scottish and he speaks Scots Gaelic?
…..Anderson is a Scottish clan name.
Granted, I’m not sure if they’re a highlands or lowlands clan, and if memory serves only highland clans spoke Scots Gaelic historically

In a modern au, one of the poets would eat alphabet soup and when the words somehow form a ghost of a sentence they take a picture, send it to Todd and go “Todd look! Pure poetry in its raw form!” And Todd’s almost immediate response (aside from almost throwing his phone into the wall) is “I’m so tempted to block you right now, friend.”

I haven’t posted DPS in a while (which is even more horrendous considering that this is basically a DPS fan account-) (I don’t regret what I’ve posted but I should also post some DPS)
I don’t have much right now but I will say my friend posted a picture of a poster we saw for Strange Way of Life and tagged Ethan Hawke and he saw it. This was after I had been traumatized by reading certain scenes from the book version of Call Me By Your Name without any warning beforehand whatsoever-

If anyone is wondering how I’ve been recently due to my inactivity,
I got all four of my wisdom teeth removed today, proceeded to communicate exclusively through sign language for at least 4 hours after waking up and cried an embarrassing amount of times over stupid things.

“I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play;
In music sweet the words repeat,
‘There’s peace on earth, good will to men.’
I thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along th’ unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
And in despair, I bowed my head:
‘There is no peace on earth,’ I said,
‘For hate is strong, and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.’
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
‘God is not dead, nor does He sleep,
For Christ is here; His Spirit near
Brings peace on earth, good will to men.’
When men repent and turn from sin
The Prince of Peace then enters in,
And grace imparts within their hearts
His peace on earth, good will to men.
O souls amid earth’s busy strife,
The Word of God is light and life;
Oh, hear His voice, make Him your choice,
Hail peace on earth, good will to men.
Then happy, singing on your way,
Your world will change from night to day;
Your heart will feel the message real,
Of peace on earth, good will to men.”
-I Heard the Bells On Christmas Day by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I feel like I’m going deaf.
Deaf to the noise.
Deaf to the world.
Deaf to my own common sense,
Deaf.
The TV is nought more than static
I have sight, but do not see anymore
Tunnel vision consumes the corners
Drastic
Tired, I watch in chains.
Bombings, blood soaks the earth and it recoils in return.
Not again.
Not again.
Not again.
The world does not decry the evil.
Do they see???
No. They are blind.
They buy into the noise.
We are eating ourselves alive
From the inside
A parasite.
Make it stop.
I want to see the light
To remember what is true.
But it’s hard. I’m stumbling.
Going against my being,
My mind recoils against me.
It screams.
I am afraid.

Friendly reminder that feeling you’re hurt is part of the healing process. Acknowledging that just because your story is different from someone else’s doesn’t mean you aren’t allowed to be affected by your hurts.
And always remember that Jesus knows your hurt, He cares and will heal, and He has a purpose for your pain. He has beautiful things planned for you.

As kind of severely unfortunate as our world may seem, and get, never forget that God is in control. He sees what’s going on, He knows whats happening. Nothing has caught Him by surprise.
That financial struggle you’re going through? He knows. That mental health struggle you’re going through? He knows. That event that threw your life completely “off track”? He knows. That grief, that loss of a loved one? He knows.
No matter what it is you’re going through, God knows.
Not only that, however, God cares. God feels your pain and anguish with you. When you’re hurting, so is He. When you cry, so does He. He sees every tear, and cares about each one. Psalm 56:8 says “thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?”
No matter what you’re going through, know that God (who is all powerful, remember) sees. He knows. He cares.
He is in control, He has the victory, and through Him you also have the victory. Remember who fights for you. We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.
Take heart. Take some deep breaths, allow yourself to feel what you are feeling, and trust in Jesus.

We suffer for the mistakes of a previous generation…..
And the next generation will suffer for ours.
How much more will they struggle to survive than we?
We will push forth their execution orders just as ours have been pushed forth, years before we were born.
We strive too much, fight too much, pointing the fingers to each other instead of striving for betterment.
Whatever change is spoken of, it is all talk. Mindless, empty chatter to fill the silence that we somehow think is worse than the growing pains of a better tomorrow.

“Tell me every terrible thing you ever did, and let me love you anyway.”
Though its a quote from dear Edgar Allan Poe, it reminds me so much of Jesus.
“But God commandeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” -Romans 5:8
God knows all of our sins, past present and future and yet He still loves us. He died for our sins, our sins are what nailed Jesus to the cross, and yet still He loves us. He wants to save us. He loves us more than any human on earth ever could. I didn’t realize how my quote in my bio could remind me of Him so much until yesterday, but now it’s such a dear and gentle reminder.
God speaks to us through His word, primarily, and His Holy Spirit, but on occasion He will speak to us through other people.

The hardest part of being a Christian is this: trusting. Waiting. Knowing that God’s will and God’s timing is far better than our own. Believing that He is faithful when we are so used to being betrayed and lied to, being tricked and fooled.
The hardest part of Christianity is trusting that when God says He’ll forgive us, He actually will. That when He says He loves us, He actually does, and in such an intensity no other love could ever compare to. It’s trusting that when He says He will never leave us nor forsake us, He means it.
It’s believing that He loves us more than our partners. More than our closest friends. More than our parents could ever hope to love us and more than we could ever hope to love our own children.
The hardest part of Christianity is, in the simplest of words, stepping out in faith and trusting God to be faithful and keep His word. But the rewards are many, because once you take that final step off of the cliff’s edge, off of the safety of land, only then will you find out that yes, He can, yes, He does and yes, He will. Because it’s who He is.

I hold onto your memory
Somewhere within my heart
Within the music and songs
Ill find you there, I know it
There will always be a part
Of me that always wants to hold on
Fading now as you may be
You’ll be there, in my heart
And I wont allow it to move on

The Wait
Are we crying
For an answer
As we leave our dreams dancing in an empty room
An empty hall
With glittering mirrors on ceilings tall
And to think
That for a moment
We dropped our guns and danced together
With blushing hearts
Which tore more quickly apart
We are parchment, we are paper cutouts of ghosts.
I reach out
Towards the night
The stars which shine above in heaven beyond my grasp
A pale memory
Of a place I have yet to see
And I ponder
And wait
And drag my mind along on a useless tether
To bring it to peace
To rest at last knowing you played a part
In me
We played a part
Together, our matinee
Of the grand production that would burn the theater
In ashes we lay
In rubble, I will lay my laurels on the mosaics again
Were they ever mine to begin with.
And so I wait.
In silence, in darkness, in stillness,
I wait.
Calling into the unknown.
I am calling to you.
