the book jinwook said he currently read “From Homer to Don Quixote” is essay compilation and basically a history book. it was translated from “Perspectives in Western Civilization“ which written by William L Langer (historian? professor? academic historian). consists of essays about important person in history (well, Homer, Don Quixote, also Socrates, Charlemagne, and several others)

anyway, why? my head hurts from just looking up what the book is actually about. do you actually found the book is fun to read? jinwook-ah?

A story of music that being completed by Dojin, Jinwook, Byulha, and Chanyoung. Four people who started promoting officially earlier this year with ‘Remember’, is coming back to show off their musicality with ‘Beautiful’. Between the members, Dojin participates in writing lyrics for all the songs. Meanwhile, Byulha and Jinwook also show their composing ability. Q. It's been around 5 months since your debut. To the people who don't know you guys yet, how do you want to introduce yourself? Dojin: The group who will touch people's heart with our ballad! I want to be recognized by our music. Byulha: Simply saying, more charming the more you see us. Bolmae.

Q. Your jargon is 'Healing Sound Group, HeartB'. So the question is what heals and refresh you? Dojin: Haha, for me its food. I really like eating. Especially, bread! I can eat bread for a whole year. Chanyoung: For me it's nature. (Jinwook: Ah, Mr. Scholar~) I really like traveling or going on a trip. Today's photo shoot were outdoor with a lot of green around us, I really like it. (Byulha: He's a scenery lover! Haha. Every time we passed a bridge, he always looking outside the window) When the weather is great, I get excited on my own. And when rain comes, I feel mellow. Byulha: For me, sleep! All my healing comes from sleeping. When we board the car, I can fall asleep in a minute. Jinwook: I really like books. I'm the type who reads a lot on my spare time. Even these days, I still try to read. Book that I read recently? The one that left impression for me was 'Democracy Delayed' which talking about our country politics from the eyes of a foreigner. Also, I read 'Man Explain Things to Me.' Ah, I also enjoyed reading novel 'The Martian'. These days I'm reading 'From Homer to Don Quixote,' but it's hard. So it takes me a while to finish it. Well, I read books in lieu of studying. Haha.

Q. Earlier, Byulha said that HeartB is bolmae. Please share what you think your charming point is. Dojin: I'm the type that serious but still have fun. Byulha: Since Dojin Hyung is the leader, he has to lead the group well. But outside that, he plays around and jokes a lot too. Jinwook: If we talking about joking, Byulha leads by a lot. He's basically the god level. (Pointing to Dojin) This one is human level. Haha Chanyoung: Then Jinwook Hyung (charm) is intellectual capacity! Dojin: (teasing tone) Far from how he looks... Haha Chanyoung: Then for me, aegyo... Byulha: His appearance looks like a cold city man full of charisma, but this Hyung actually have a lot of aegyo. Dojin: (Chanyoung is) Cute...

Q. Now, let's praise each other! Jinwook: Byulha is our mood maker. He helps breaking the ice for everyone on the set. I receive a lot of strength from those. Also, I envy his song writing skill. He wrote song really quick. If we are talking about a song with this atmosphere, he writes it quick and then let us listens to it. Byulha: Spending more time with Chanyoung Hyung, I can feel that Chanyoung Hyung is a good older brother. When there is thing I did wrong, he helps me a lot. Outside work, he is really friendly and jokes a lot too. When I don’t clean after myself, he nags a lot. But when I did well, he praises a lot too. In a word, Hyung is a good person! Chanyoung: Since Dojin is my same-age friend, it's comfortable with him. I see him as a friend that knows what he wants. You have to do things that are your responsibility and never do things that you know it's wrong or not allowed. Those personalities make me think that he really do well as our leader. Also, he's very handsome! Looking at him now, I think he wants to hear this. Haha. Byulha: To add on that, Dojin Hyung always explains everything to me if there are things that I don’t understand. Since I'm the youngest, there are a lot of things I can't understand. Usually, other people will get mad, "Why can’t you understand it after I explained it to you." But, Dojin Hyung explains it to me until I understand and can do it well. It touched me. Dojin: For Jinwook Hyung, from his appearance, he is tall; his face is small and really handsome. He even has a great body type/proportion. I'm envious. I'm 181cm tall but the smallest between our members. Since Hyung is 188cm tall, there's around 7cm between us. I don’t think I'm small but when we stand together on the stage, I always look small.

Q. Everyone is really tall. Chanyoung: I'm the second tallest. 185cm. Byulha: I'm 182cm. Jinwook: Since I'm quite tall, it's easy to spot me when we come up for the ending stage of music show. Byulha: You can see our head li~ke this.

Q. In 'Beautiful' M/V, the first person appeared is Jinwook, right? You show off your body. Jinwook: I show my back. Haha. Though I show my back, the one in charge of muscles is Dojin. He has a chocolate that won’t melt. Dojin: My body is quite small, so I work out a lot. Haha Byulha: Hyung is really athletic!

Q. Other than great appearances, we can’t forget your beautiful voices. The way your voices blend/harmonize together is very nice, but is there any characteristic to recognize your voice? Byulha: Dojin Hyung has similar talking and singing voice. It's light and soft. For Chanyoung Hyung, there's a feel of brightness in his voice. And when you hear it, you can tell that this is his voice. Dojin: I think Chanyoung has a voice that women would like. Jinwook Hyung's voice feels like it wraps/hugs you up, like 2AM's Changmin sunbaenim's voice. Byulha: What about me? Jinwook: Between the four of us, Byulha has the lowest tone. He's young but there's that specific sound that he has. When we first met and we hear him singing, I really surprised. It's hard to believe it's the voice of 18y.o. Dojin: Try to hear Byulha's OST for drama 'Mask', 'There's No Love'. It was like the feel of some mid-twenties singing it. He did great.

Q. In your 2nd mini album ‘Beautiful’ there are several participation from the members. Dojin also participated in writing the lyric for all songs. Byulha: Our goal is to make an album where we produce it ourselves. Dojin: For writing lyric, I usually take note of what I feel every day. Then when I receive the melody to write lyric, I see what I wrote before and matching it up with the feel of the song. Jinwook: I think Byulha really thought up a lot of the song while people are sleeping. When sleeping, sometimes you can hear tuk-tuk-tuk sound from the keyboard or ting-tung-tung from the guitar.

Q. So you usually write songs in the dorm. Do you guys use one room together? Byulha: Yeah, together. Jinwook: In one room! Byulha: The fun thing about this is that we share a lot of thing before sleep. After lying down inside our own blanket, we each say something. Just by saying, "Ah, this thing was fun today," you can get reactions from here and there. Dojin: We have fan signing event yesterday, so we talked a lot about that too. It was, officially, our first fan signing. It wasn't like we give out something, just by watching our stage, I'm grateful that a lot of fans willing to come to meet us. Jinwook: I was really nervous. Since I was very nervous, I kept sweating all through the event. Chanyoung: The fans we saw while we were busking also came. I was really happy.

Q: You guys consistently went busking but the atmosphere must be really different compared to your debut era. Dojin: On our early busking days, there were barely any fans coming even after we made the announcement. These days, just by saying we're going to have a busking event; a lot of fans come to see us. Jinwook: It's like we have our own allies. Since they give cheers when we sing, we also receive a lot of strength from that. It feels like singing in our home ground (instead of away). Always home game, without any away! Hahaha

Q. At times like those, you must feels that you are a singer now. When do you feels "Ah, I am a singer now" the most? Byulha: Earlier, when we shoot on the street, I hear our song and it gives me goose bumps. Suddenly ‘With My Eyes Closed’ which I sung with Jung Jaewook Sunbaenim comes up! Chanyoung: It really feels weird somehow. Byulha: I want to go and tell the part-timer there that I'm the one singing the song. Hahaha. Jinwook: It feels really strong yesterday at our fan signing event. It's amazing to meet and talking in person with people who like us. It was quite peculiar. Dojin: When we released "Missing You", the song did well but nobody knows that we were the singer who sings it. But after our official debut, there are people who know us from then and I thought "Ah, I really debuted now." Chanyoung: I think it was when I play our song on MP3 player and our face comes out as album cover. It's a novel feeling. Jinwook: Actually, we received the master song before it was released, right? But after the album release, the earlier song is erased so we can download the new one. So, we can see the album cover when we hear the MP3. Hahaha.

Q. Have you ever thought about any other activities outside singing? Dojin even acted in "Missing You" M/V. Dojin: I still attend acting class till now, together with Jinwook Hyung. Jinwook: I learned a lot since Dojin did well in class. Sometimes we also practiced dialogues with Byulha, it's really fun. We were scolded since we keep laughing. Byulha: Since Hyungs practicing lines feels really real, sometimes I thought they were talking to me and I even answer to them. For me, I want to try musical. Jinwook: I think Byulha voice tone is good for musical!

Q. A year from now, what kind of title HeartB article has? Byulha: Acclaimed Musicians, HeartB. Jinwook: HeartB, Music Chart All-Kill! Dojin: Heartb, All-Kill Forewarning! Byulha: It can’t be just forewarning, just All-Kill! Hahaha.

[HeartB's song recommendation] Q. Please recommend some songs that nice to hear this Fall Dojin: I want to recommend Swings's ‘Are You Listening?’ and Jungkey feat. Yang Dail’s ‘Be Forgotten’. The song’s mood matched well with the season. “When we meet, look at each other~” Chanyoung: For me, Crush’s ‘Sometimes’. (Finger snapping) “It’s just sometimes, I miss you~ I miss kissing you and hugging you~” Byulha: Not just for autumn, but a song you can hear all season, when you go back home from work, ‘Good Work, Today Too’! Chanyoung: When you finish your work late, while going inside the house (pretending to take the shoes off) “Good work, today too~” (Together: “Even if no one~”) Jinwook: I think we sang this every day, lately.
