I'm Gonna Show You Crazy Part 2
Tumblr media
TITLE: I’m Gonna Show You Crazy Part 2 PAIRING: [Malcom/Cassie Lector (OC)] RATING: T CHAPTER: 2/? SUMMARY: Malcom and Cassie have their date and it doesn't go that well.
[A/N - So this a sort-of sequel/continuation of "I'm Gonna Show You Crazy" that I wrote back in 2019. I had a whole series of fics I was gonna write, but of course I never wrote them down so I have no idea where I was going with it. So now we're gonna do something different with the same ending I was planning.]
For their date, Malcom came down to Baltimore. That had at least earned him some brownie points from Hannibal since he was apprehensive of letting Cassie travel all the way to New York City without him or Will.
Sometimes Hannibal’s over-protectiveness bothered Cassie, but she understood. She knew that she reminded him of his little sister Mischa, so naturally he worried about her.
Well that and he was a serial killer, so he knew what kind of things could happen to her. Even though he knew Cassie could fend for herself if needed.
Like she told Dr. Whitly, there had been some…unfortunately accidents. Accidents that Hannibal helped her cover up of course.
It wasn’t like she’d meant to murder people. She blacked out and it had just…happened. Even though she had taken people’s lives, she didn’t crave the blood and violence like she knew Hannibal did.
But every time she did, Hannibal would look at her with such pride. As if she was following in the family footsteps.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Malcom and Cassie met at a coffee shop (of Hannibal’s choosing) not far from the house.
She knew Hannibal would be watching, so she made sure to pick a seat where Malcom couldn’t possibly spot him.
Malcom came in wearing a denim button-up shirt, scarf, peacoat, and dark wash jeans. Cassie couldn’t deny that he was attractive.
She met him at the counter.
“Cassie, good to see you again.”
Cassie laughed. “There’s no need to be so formal, Malcom.”
Malcom smiled and looked down bashfully. “I’m sorry. Growing up…well you’ve met my father.”
“Yeah. Seems a little OCD and wanting things to be just so. Hannibal is like that about some things.” His murders.
They stepped up to the counter and ordered their drinks.
“Do you have any other siblings?” Malcom asked.
Cassie shook her head. “It’s always just been Hannibal and I. What about you?”
“I have a sister, Ainsley. She’s a journalist.”
“Ah.”
They picked up their drinks sat down in some chairs by the window.
“So I did some research into your cousin,” Malcom said.
That statement made Cassie stop drinking her coffee. She should have felt offended by him snooping, but she had done the same thing. She knew what Dr. Whitly was accused of doing.
“He’s my brother. Not my cousin. We may be cousins by blood, but he is first and foremost my brother. I know my brother’s past and it was unfortunate what happened to him and his family. I don’t ask him about what happened and we don’t discuss it. It was a deeply traumatic experience, but he’s grown and moved past it. I’d appreciate if you didn’t bring it up again.”
“I’m sorry if I’ve offended you.”
“Just…please don’t talk about it around Hannibal.”
That was a sure-fire way to get himself killed, which would in turn motivate Martin to retaliate and Cassie wasn’t interested in getting in the middle of two psychopaths.
“Why don’t you tell me more about yourself?”
Cassie smiled and told Malcom of how she had been accepted into art school right out of high school.
“Your brother must be very attached to you to follow you across the country.”
Cassie narrowed her eyes at him. “I’m not sure what you’re implying Mr. Bright.”
“He clearly needs you close to him which implies that there’s a level of unhealthy obsession.”
Cassie wanted to snap at Malcom, but she knew why Hannibal wanted her close to him. She was reminded of her first meeting with Will.
There have been many famous Cassandra’s in history, but none as famous as the daughter of Troy,” Hannibal said.
“Of Greek mythology?” Will asked.
“ She was admired by the God Apollo, however she refused his advances so he cursed her. Her prophecies would no longer be believed. She was written off as insane and a liar.”
“I think this meeting is over,” Cassie said. She stood up and stormed out of the coffee shop.
“Cassie! Wait!” Malcom called after her.
Cassie was heading for the alleyway where she knew Hannibal’s car was parked.
Malcom grabbed her arm as she stepped into the crosswalk.
“Let go of me! I’m not going to just sit and listen to you insult the only person who’s ever truly loved me!” Cassie yelled.
“Please. Just come back inside,” Malcom begged her.
“No!”
It happened so fast.
One moment they were arguing in the street, the next she was on her back with Malcom on top of her.
There was the loud honking of a car and the screeching of tires.
Malcom’s bright blue eyes stared into her dark ones. The adrenaline rushing through her body gave Cassie the bravery to do something.
She grabbed the back of Malcom’s neck and kissed him.

Under the Black Lake
Tumblr media
TITLE: Under the Black Lake PAIRING: Draco/OC (if you squin) RATING: T CHAPTER: One-shot SUMMARY: Fayina is just like any other magical girl, only she's not.
[A/N - Inspired by a comment made by Ominous Gaunt in "Hogwarts Legacy".]
To say that Fayina Donohue didn’t belong in Slytherin would be an understatement. She was quiet, reserved, and hardly ever displayed the traits that were most commonly associated with Slytherin.
Most days, if she wasn’t in class, she could be found staring out of the glass windows.
It was common to tell first years that mermaids often swam past the windows, but of course that was just a lie that older students told them to keep them occupied. The Giant Squid could be seen swimming in the distance some days, but they never saw mermaids.
“She’s just as loony as that Lovegood girl,” she heard Pansy Parkinson say.
Draco Malfoy and Blaise Zabini were with her.
“She’s a wicked Potions partner though,” Blaise said.
“I say that if she wants to stare out the window all day, let her,” Draco told them.
The trio left the common room, probably on their way to the library or the Great Hall.
Once the common room was clear, Fayina started singing softly under her breath.
A webbed hand came up from below and touched the glass.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Fayina was walking near the Black Lake when she heard a scream. She ran towards the lake and found a small first or second year splashing in the water.
The more the boy thrashed, the further he was swept out.
Fayina threw her stuff down and pulled off her cloak. Before she could get in the water, a hand grabbed her arm.
“Don’t.”
She looked up and saw Draco Malfoy.
“Let a teacher handle it.”
She shrugged his hand off and dove into the water. The moment she touched the water, her clothes faded away and her legs fused into a tail. She swam towards the boy.
“Shhh,” Fayina cooed. She started singing a song her mother had taught her as a child.
Draco watched as the boy stopped thrashing around. He also could swear he heard singing.
Fayina took the boy in her arms and she was able to lead him closer to shore.
A few people came running and helped the boy out of the water.
Fayina needed the shore to clear so she could dry off, but she kept an eye on the boy.
Draco glanced at the water. He saw a head of dark hair disappear under the water and a flash of a shimmering tail.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
When the shore was empty, Fayina pulled herself onto land. She pulled her wand out of her bag and whispered a spell under her breath. Her clothes returned and she was bone dry.
The spell had been passed down through the generations of Donohue women.
Fayina grabbed her bag and made her way back to the castle.
Draco approached Fayina in the common room. “I know what I saw,” he told her.
She looked at him.
“How did you do it?”
She grabbed his hand and pulled him over to an alcove near the windows. She cast a spell over them so they wouldn’t be overheard.
“Long ago, a mermaid wished to be human…”
Draco rolled his eyes. “A fairytale? Really?”
Fayina glared at him. “It’s not a fairytale. It’s my life.”
“Fine. Go on.”
“This mermaid made a bargain with a sea witch. In order for this mermaid to remain human, she would need to marry someone with magic within the year. If she did not, she would return to the sea as foam. The mermaid did indeed marry someone with magical blood and gave birth to a daughter. But what she didn’t know was that the sea witch had cursed her. Her bloodline would only give birth to daughters, no sons. And if those daughters did not marry someone with magical blood by their 21st birthday, they would return to the sea as foam.”
“So…you’re a mermaid?”
“Well, half.”
“So any contact with water causes this?”
“Only when submerged. I can still shower and everything, but if I were to take a bath…tail.”
Fayina glanced around the common room and found it mostly empty. She turned to the glass and softly sang under her breath.
Draco watched in amazement as a mermaid floated into view.
The mermaids in the Black Lake looked nothing like the mermaids in the fairytales. Not like Fayina.
“How come you don’t look like that?” Draco asked, “Your tail is beautiful by the way.”
Fayina blushed. “The Black Lake mermaids look like that because of their environment. Evolution and everything. My family is from a country filled with coral and brightly colored fish. Helps us blend better.”
“Are all mermaids related?”
Fayina shrugged. “In a manner of speaking. We’re more like distant cousins really. Especially with all the magical blood. We’re barely mermaids by most standards.”
Draco stepped towards her, backing her up against the glass. “Is that why you were sorted into Slytherin? Your fishy little secret?”
Fayina tried to keep a straight face, but burst out laughing. “Fishy little secret? Really?”
Draco’s cheeks and ears burned. “Alright. Stop laughing at me before a douse you in water.”
Fayina’s mouth dropped open and she narrowed her eyes. “You. Wouldn’t. Dare.”
Draco smirked. “Ah. That’s why.”
“Draco!” Blaise shouted from across the common room, “Quidditch practice!”
“Go,” Fayina told him.
“This isn’t over Donohue.”
“I look forward to continuing our conversation, Malfoy.”

Mastermind
Tumblr media
TITLE: Mastermind PAIRING: Aemond/OC RATING: T CHAPTER: One-shot SUMMARY: Jacquelin has one goal in mind. Marry Aemond.
[A/N - Inspired by “Mastermind" by Taylor Swift.]
Ladies and Lords of noble houses and the royal family filled the dining hall of the Red Keep. The Greens had successfully usurped the throne from Rhaenyra and were celebrating their victory.
Jacquelin entered the dining hall and glanced around.
The royal family were seated at the head of the room with Aegon in the middle in between Criston Cole and his mother Alicent. His sister-wife and brother sat a few seats down from the king.
As Jacquelin waded through the crowd, her eyes caught the one-eyed, Prince Aemond. She had seen him as a child once or twice when they visited her family’s castle, but he had grown into a fine young man.
Aemond looked up and met her gaze.
Jacquelin held his gaze as she started dancing, paying no mind to her partner.
A smirk crossed Aemond’s face. Very few noble ladies met his eyes so boldly.
Aemond finished the wine he was drinking and stood up, to the shock of his family. He stepped out onto the dance floor and slipped into the crowd. He stepped up behind Jacquelin and took her hand, replacing her dancing partner.
She hazarded a glance back at him and found herself caught in his lilac gaze. Inwardly, she was smirking. She had him right where she wanted him.
None of this was accidental. She had planned this.
Jacquelin had convinced her mother and father to attend this celebration just so she could put herself in the prince’s way. She knew her mother and father wanted to marry her off, so who better than the second son and brother to the king himself? She couldn’t have asked for a better match and frankly, neither could her parents. At least this was a marriage she wanted.
“You’ve been watching me,” Aemond said.
“I have, my prince.”
They turned so they were face-to-face now.
“Why?” he asked.
“You are very handsome, my prince. Why wouldn’t a lady want to stare?”
Aemond sneered. “There’s no need to lie to me.”
“Any woman who doesn’t find you handsome is simply a fool.”
This made Aemond smirk. He knew she was trying to feed his ego. He knew his brother would be trying to marry him off to some random lord’s daughter in return for his support. “What is your name?” he asked.
“Jacquelin Anzalone.”
It was a house that Aemond had never heard of and maybe that could be to their advantage.
“My father has always supported your brother Aegon and his right to the throne.”
Aemond pulled her close. “What do you want?”
Jacquelin’s eyes drifted to Aemond’s lips. “What does every woman want?”
Aemond snorted. “A husband?”
Jacquelin smirked. “What do you stand to lose, my prince? My mother and father are expecting me to make an advantageous marriage. Is your brother not doing the same? As a woman, I am simply a pawn on a chessboard to be played. I would rather make my own move.”
Aemond pulled away from her. Jacquelin half-expected him to stalk off like the moody prince he was known to be. But he simply took her hand and kissed the back of it, very clearly showing everyone his interest in her.
Jacquelin blushed, playing the part of the innocent, sweet, young, and naïve girl who couldn’t believe a Targaryen prince was interested in her.
Aemond sent her a smirk before he disappeared back into the crowd. She had about a second before her mother and father descended on her, asking her questions about when Aemond was going to come calling on her.
Aemond took a seat back at the table and sipped his wine. He knew his mother would have questions later and Aegon would tease him, but for now he wanted to sit back and consider his options.
He could marry a girl of Aegon’s choosing and be forced into a marriage he didn’t want…or…he could marry Jacquelin.
Jacquelin’s family would bring support of smaller houses, but they needed the numbers anywhere they could get them. Jacquelin was also ambitious.
It was not lost on Aemond that she had planned their entire meeting. She was a mastermind and that turned Aemond on more than he was willing to admit.

If I Were a Man
Tumblr media
TITLE: If I Were a Man PAIRING: Oberyn/OC RATING: T CHAPTER: One-shot SUMMARY: Liliane longs for a different life.
[A/N - Inspired by “If I Were a Man” from The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical.]
Liliane glanced around the banquet hall. Her family had been invited to the wedding of Joffrey Baratheon to Margery Tyrell and Liliane herself could care less about the royal nuptials.
She knew her mother was just going to use this opportunity to find a husband for her daughter. Liliane didn’t want to get married.
She wanted to travel all of Westeros and when she was done, she wanted to go across the Narrow Sea and explore all of Essos. Maybe if even find out what happened to Valyria.
She didn’t want to be reduced to a vessel for children and be expected to sit and listen to whatever the boring Northern lords discussed. They expected their wives to be docile and polite without opinions.
She was not going to wait around for a handsome prince to come and save her like some girl in a fairytale.
But if there was one prince she wouldn’t mind saving her it was Prince Oberyn, second son of Dorne. He was in Kings Landing on behalf of his older brother Doran, representing the kingdom of Dorne. He brought with him his beautiful paramour and mother to four of his daughters, Ellaria Sand.
Liliane, who very much preferred men, could not deny that the woman was gorgeous. She could see why Oberyn had fallen in love with her.
The Dornish couple wore clothes Liliane could only dream of. Their clothing was revealing and considered scandalous in Kings Landing. Ellaria’s gowns barely covered anything at all and the Prince’s robes often showed off a generous amount of his chest.
Liliane hated the gowns her mother put her in. They were stuffy and her stays left bruises on her ribs. Her hair was twisted into a complicated up-do that was starting to make her scalp hurt. She’d give anything to wear her hair loose.
“Don’t slouch. Sit up straight,” her mother said, snapping Liliane out of her thoughts.
Liliane blew a raspberry at her mother and took a sip of her wine.
Ellaria laughed.
“Something funny, my love?” Oberyn asked.
“I was merely admiring that adorable creature.” Ellaria pointed over at Liliane, who was practically pouting in her chair.
Oberyn chuckled. “She looks like she would rather be anywhere else.”
Liliane stood up and made her way outside and Oberyn took the opportunity.
He stood up and followed Liliane outside. “Beautiful night, no?” Oberyn asked her.
Liliane turned to him. “Prince Oberyn.”
Oberyn noticed how she didn’t blush, nor did she bow to him. “Something wrong, little one?” he asked.
Liliane sighed and tugged at her dress. “It is hot and stuffy inside the banquet hall. I merely needed some…air.”
Oberyn approached her. “May I?”
Liliane was confused until Oberyn untied the back of her dress and expertly loosened her corset. Liliane took a deep breath of air.
“Better?” Oberyn asked.
Liliane nodded. “Yes, thank you.”
Oberyn re-tied her dress. “I will never understand these Northern dresses. Far too much fabric.”
“Well we all can’t wear Dornish fashions.”
Oberyn smirked. “But it would make everything much easier.”
Liliane sighed. “I wish everything were as easy as it is in Dorne.”
Oberyn frowned. “What do you mean, little one?”
“You value women. They are seen as equals. Here, I might as well be property to be owned by my husband. He can do what he pleases with me. Sometimes I wish I was a man. Then I would have the freedom to roam the world. Do what I want. Learn what I want.”
“You can, little one. You can do whatever you choose. But you must be the one to make that choice. And women are amazing. You have the ability to give life. I have seen my Ellaria give birth to our four daughters and she is stronger than any warrior.”
Oberyn plucked a flower from a nearby bush and placed it behind Liliane’s ear. “Dorne can be your home if you choose. But you must choose it.”
Oberyn left her standing in the garden. He went back inside and sat down next to Ellaria. “I think we may have an extra occupant on our way back to Dorne,” Oberyn told her.
Outside, Liliane stared up at the stars. She wondered if the stars looked different in Dorne.

Warrior of the Mind
Tumblr media
TITLE: Warrior of the Mind PAIRING: Oberyn/Goddess!OC RATING: T CHAPTER: One-shot SUMMARY: Facing off with the Mountain, Oberyn has more than just luck on his side.
[A/N - Inspired by "Warrior of the Mind" from Epic: The Musical.]
Oberyn stepped into the arena. Today was the day he would face off against the man who had raped and murdered his beloved sister Elia and her children.
You must be careful, my Viper, her voice whispered in his mind. He glanced up at the sky.
Guide my spear, my Goddess.
Follow my instructions and you shall have your vengeance. I have guided you to this moment. You will be able to sleep at night and you will no longer require me.
I shall always require you, my Goddess. He heard her laugh.
You’ve no need to flatter me, my Viper.
Through the years, she had become more than a mentor. He saw her as a friend, as foolish as that sounded.
I want to see you again.
Win for me. Take down the man who took the one you loved the most. Then we shall meet again face to face.
Oberyn had only seen her face-to-face once in his life when he was much younger.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
In Dorne, there were legends of a mighty boar in the Wilds. Whoever went searching for it never returned or if they did, they soon died of injuries.
So Oberyn took his spear and went searching for the boar, despite Doran and Elia trying to talk him out of it. When he came upon a clearing, he felt like he was being watched.
“I know you’re there. Come out,” he called. He looked around, pretending to be searching for the boar until he stopped. “There you are.”
A woman manifested out of the shadows. She was dressed in a flowing white gown with hair the color of dragon fire and cool blue eyes.
“How could you see me?” Oberyn smiled.
“I couldn’t.”
Her eyes narrowed. “You must be very clever or very foolish to try and trick me.”
“I’d like to think I’m a little of both.”
“What is your name?”
“Tell me yours and I will tell you mine.”
Finally, the woman sighed. “I admire your wit. For that I will give you my name. I am Maean.”
Oberyn’s eyes went wide. “An Old God?”
“We still live among you. Despite what the mortal rulers of this world would have you believe.” Her eyes zeroed in on his spear. “You are a warrior.”
Oberyn expertly twirled the spear in his hands. “I don’t like to boast…”
“Dedicate your life to me and I will make you the most skilled warrior in this world.”
“Dedicate my life to you?”
“You will best every opponent if only you pledge your life and your spear to me.”
Oberyn considered it for a moment, before finally kneeling. “I pledge my life and my spear to you, my Goddess.”
“I vow to serve as your mentor until the time comes where you no longer need me.” She placed a hand on his head. “Rise, my Viper.”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Oberyn was shaken out of his recollection by the thumping footsteps of the Mountain.
The trial by combat began.
Oberyn danced around his opponent, like a viper toying with his next meal. Maean talked him through it the whole time, pointing out weak spots in armor. Oberyn struck the killing blow and the Mountain fell back dead.
The arena was silent for a moment.
Oberyn threw his spear aside as Ellaria ran to him. She kissed him passionately.
Tywin Lannister stood up. “Prince Oberyn of Dorne is the winner.”
“And Tyrion is free to go?” Oberyn asked.
Tywin’s smile was tense. “Of course. You’ve won the trial by combat.”
“He’s lying,” a female voice said.
It was a voice Oberyn frequently heard in his mind. He turned and saw her there.
She had appeared out of thin air, dressed in a flowing white gown. Her neck, wrists, and ankles were draped in gold.
“And who might you be?” Tywin asked.
“I am Maean, Goddess of Conquest.” She came to stand in front of Oberyn. “You will let Tyrion of House Lannister go with peace.”
“Or what?”
A flaming sword appeared in her hand. “Or you will lose your head. Along with anyone else who stands in my way.”
Tywin and the Goddess stared at each other for a few moments before he sat down.
Maean led Oberyn, Tyrion, and Ellaria out of the arena, flaming sword in hand. Once they were safely away from any that would harm them, Maean let the flaming sword disappear.
She turned to Oberyn. “You have done well, my Viper. You no longer require my services.”
Oberyn shook his head. He knelt down before her. “I pledge my life and my spear to you, my Goddess.”
“You have fulfilled your oath.”
Oberyn took her hand in his. “I will continue to serve you in whatever way you need me. You are not just my mentor, but my friend.”
Maean cocked her head to the side, making her seem a lot younger than she was. “Friend? Gods do not have friends.”
Oberyn smiled. “You have made one of this mere mortal.”
“Friends.”
Oberyn nodded. “I hope to have the blessing of your company every now and then.”
“Very well. I shall visit you, but my obligation to you has ended. I will no longer be able to ensure your protection.”
“I think I shall manage.”
Maean smiled. She leaned down and kissed his forehead. “Goodbye, my Viper.”
“Farewell, my Goddess.”
Maean faded with the wind.
Oberyn stood up and turned to Ellaria, who had a smirk on her face. “A Goddess? Oberyn, you have left me out of all the fun.”
Oberyn looked at the sky.
Even though she would no longer be a voice in his head, he knew Meaen would not leave him.

Another Navy Ball, another night of interacting with people Elizabeth Mitchell could care less about. She didn’t want to be there, but she did what she always did. Plastered a fake smile on her face and laughed at jokes she didn’t find funny.
Why did she always have to be her father’s plus one?
Her fake smile was replaced with a real one when her father’s wingman walked up to her.
“How are you, pumpkin?” Iceman asked her.
Elizabeth shrugged. Her eyes drifted around the room until they fell on quite possibly the most handsome man she’d ever seen.
His eyes met hers and it was like the room around them faded.
Iceman glanced over to see what had caught Elizabeth’s eye or rather who.
The man started to make his way through the crowd towards them. The man stopped in front of Iceman.
“Admiral Kazansky. I thought that was you.”
Iceman chuckled. “Lieutenant Seresin.” Iceman turned to Elizabeth, who looked completely enchanted by Jake. “Elizabeth, this is Lieutenant Jake Seresin. Lieutenant, this is Elizabeth Mitchell.”
Jake took Elizabeth’s hand in his own and raised it to his mouth to kiss her knuckles. “Ma’am.”
Elizabeth snorted. “Ma’am?”
“I’m sorry. Would you prefer darlin’ instead?”
A shiver went down Elizabeth’s spine hearing his accent. “Darlin’?”
Jake smirked. “What about sugar?”
“I can assure you, I’m anything but sweet.”
“I’ll leave you two to get better acquainted,” Iceman said. He put a hand on Elizabeth’s shoulder. “Don’t break him. I need him to fly tomorrow.”
“I’ll try my best, Ice.”
Iceman slipped into the crowd.
“Let me guess, you’re a pilot,” Elizabeth said.
“Yes ma’am. Graduated top of my class at Top Gun,” Jake told her.
“Is that supposed to impress me? My father went to Top Gun too. Along with Iceman.”
“Anyone tell you that you’ve got a mouth on you?”
Elizabeth sipped her champagne. “None that have lived to tell the tale.”
Jake took the champagne flute from her and drank the last of it. He set it down on the table and pulled her onto the dance floor.
As they danced, Elizabeth tried to catch sight of her father, but he was nowhere to be seen. After a few songs, Elizabeth went to go grab a drink while Jake talked to some of his squadron.
“There you are,” Maverick said, appearing at Elizabeth’s side, “I’ve been looking for you.”
“I was…” Elizabeth turned back to point to Jake, but he had disappeared.
“Are you ready to head home?”
Elizabeth looked around one more time before nodding.
Jake pushed through the crowd, trying to find Elizabeth. He found Iceman standing by the refreshment table. “Where is she?”
Iceman sighed. “They already left.”
Jake ran to the front door just in time to see a car pull out of the parking lot.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
That night, Elizabeth couldn’t sleep.
Did Jake have a girlfriend? He hadn’t mentioned one. He was clearly hitting on her. He wouldn’t do that if he was in a relationship, right?
She couldn’t deny that she was attracted to him. If only she had gotten his number. Then at least she could get to know him better.
When her father entered the room the next morning, she had just fallen asleep. “Do you mind if we stop by the base before we leave? I need to get something from Ice.”
Elizabeth yawned and nodded.
They packed their car and headed to base.
She couldn’t wait to be back in her own bed, but she couldn’t deny that she missed life on base. How something was always happening.
They arrived on base and Maverick headed to Iceman’s office, while Elizabeth wandered around.
“Well, well, well. What do we have here?” Elizabeth heard.
She whipped around and saw Jake standing there in his flight suit, along with another pilot. “Lieutenant Seresin,” she said.
“At your service, sugar.”
Elizabeth blushed at the pet name. “Sugar?”
“You didn’t like ma’am, remember?”
“Who’s your friend?”
“Lieutenant Javy Machado,” the pilot said, “At your service…ma’am.”
“You stayin’ on base?” Jake asked.
“On my way out, actually,” Elizabeth said.
Jake’s smile fell. “Oh.”
“I was…do you…”
Jake’s smirk returned. “Are you trying to ask me for my number, sugar?”
Elizabeth blushed.
Jake pulled his phone out of a pocket and handed it to her.
Elizabeth put her number in and texted herself.
“Will Elizabeth Mitchell please make her way to the main office?” a voice over the PA said.
“I’m so sorry. I have to go,” Elizabeth said. She started to leave, but
Jake grabbed her arm. He pulled her into him and kissed her cheek. “Until next time, sugar.”
Jake gave her a wink and Elizabeth blushed again. Jake let go of her and she hurried back to the main office.
“Sweetheart, what’s wrong? You’re all flushed,” Maverick said.
Elizabeth touched her flaming cheeks. “Just hot with all that blacktop out there.”
“What were you doing out there anyway?”
“Admiring the planes. What else?”
Maverick chuckled. “You are your father’s daughter.”
Elizabeth’s cheeks were flushed the entire time home. She couldn’t wait to get home and text Jake.

Little Dragon Chapter 3
Tumblr media
TITLE: Little Dragon Chapter 3 PAIRING: Aemond/Niece!OC RATING: T CHAPTER: 3/? SUMMARY: Daella Velaryon is the only true-born heir of Laenor and Rhaenyra, but after Aemond’s maiming at Driftmark she elects to stay with the royal family. Over the years, she and her uncle Aemond grow closer. So close that not even the threat of war will tear them apart.
Daella’s handmaidens dressed her for dinner in a deep blue gown with her hair done up in intricate braids. When she arrived at dinner, her family was already there. Instead of taking a seat next to her brothers, she sat next to Heleana.
Aemond sat at the head of the table. He reached over and took Daella’s hand in his, pressing a kiss to the back of it. “You look beautiful, Little Dragon.”
“I must thank you for the gown, my prince.”
“You are to be a Queen one day. You must dress the part.”
Aegon snorted into his wine and his younger brother glared at him.
Everyone quietly talked amongst themselves as they waited for the King to arrive. Viserys entered, carried on a litter, and everyone stood up. He was placed in his spot for the evening and they sat down.
“How good it is…to see you all tonight…together,” Viserys said.
“Prayer before we begin?” Alicent asked.
“Yes.”
Daella, who had grown up in the Red Keep, still felt awkward when Alicent brought up the Faith of the Seven. Daella herself still believed in the old gods and often found herself talking to the Weirwood tree.
“May the Mother smile down on this gathering with love. May the Smith mind the bonds that have been broken for far too long. And to Vaemond Velaryon, may the gods give him rest.”
“This is an occasion for celebration, it seems. My grandsons, Jace and Luke, will marry their cousins, Baela and Rhaena, further strengthening the bong between out houses. A toast to the young Princes…and their betrothed,” Viserys said.
“Hear, hear!” everyone chanted.
“Well done Jace. You’ll finally get to lie with a woman,” Aegon said.
“Let us toast as well Prince Lucerys, the future Lord of the Tides.”
“Hear, hear.”
“And to Princess Daella and my son Prince Aemond, who have been betrothed for some years. You have been patient and I think now is the time to reward that patience. You will be married in a week’s time.”
Rhaenyra was taken aback. She knew Daella had always favored her one-eyed uncle, but she never imagined they would marry.
Daella turned to Aemond and smiled. She had been waiting for this day.
Daemon was staring Aemond down as Aemond kissed Daella’s hand again.
Viserys struggled to stand. “It both gladdens my heart and fills me with sorrow to see these faces around the table. The faces most dear to me in all the world yet grown so distant from each other in the years past.” Viserys reached up and pulled his golden mask off.
Daella averted her eyes, not wanting to see her grandfather in such a state.
Aemond’s thumb stroked her knuckles in an effort to comfort her.
Even Aegon lowered his eyes.
“My own face is no longer a handsome one if indeed it ever was. But tonight I wish you to see me as I am. Not just a king, but your father. Your brother. Your husband and your grandsire. Who may not, it seems walk for much longer among you. Let us no longer hold ill feelings in our hearts. The crown cannot stand strong if the House of the Dargon remains divided. But set aside your grievances. If not for the sake of the crown, then for the sake of this old man who loves you all so dearly.”
Viserys collapsed into his chair and Rhaenyra stood up.
“I wish to raise my cup to Her Grace, the Queen. I love my father. But I must admit that no one has stood more loyally by his side than his good wife. She has tended to him with unfailing devotion, love, and honor. And for that, she has my gratitude and my apology.” Rhaenyra sat down.
“Your graciousness moves me deeply, Princess. We are both mothers and we love our children. We have more in common than we sometimes allow,” Alicent said. She stood up. “I raise my cup to you…and to your house. You will make a fine queen.”
Rhaenyra smiled at her.
Aegon got up to fill his wine glass and whispered something to Baela, causing Jacaerys to stand up.
Aemond stood up, ready to defend his older brother.
“Aemond,” Daella said, “Please.”
Aemond stared at Jacaerys, waiting for him to do something.
Jacaerys turned to Aegon and playfully punched him in the shoulder before raising his glass in Aemond’s direction. “To Prince Aegon…and Prince Aemond. We have not see each other in years, but I have fond memories of our shared youth. And as men, I hope we may yet be friends and allies. To you and your family’s good health, dear uncles. And…to my beloved sister Daella. I regret that we did not get to spend that much time together, but you have grown into a fine woman and I pray that our uncle will make you happy and that you will have many children together.”
“Thank you. And I pray that you and Baela are happy together,” Daella said.
“Beware the beast beneath the boards,” Helaena whispered.
Daella reached over and rubbed her arm.
Helaena suddenly stood up. “I would like to toast to Baela and Rhaena. They’ll be married soon. It isn’t so bad. Mostly he just ignores you except sometimes when he’s drunk.”
They were a few snickers and Helaena sat down.
“Was that okay?” Helaena asked Daella.
“Yes, you did very well,” Daella told her aunt.
Aemond smiled at their interaction.
Helaena was very grateful to have Daella to talk to, since people mostly ignored her.
“Good. Let us have some music,” Viserys said.

The Snake and the Dragon
Tumblr media
TITLE: The Snake and the Dragon PAIRING: Oberyn/OC RATING: T CHAPTER: One-shot SUMMARY: Sunspear has a strange visitor that arrives on dragonback.
[A/N - I've had this idea for a while. Ever since House of the Dragon. Had to do some research for this one, but comes with the territory. Also might contain spoilers for later seasons of HOTD.]
The quiet in the palace of Sunspear was shattered by screams.
“Dragon! There’s a dragon!” a pageboy yelled.
Doran tried to calm his subjects, but the castle descended into chaos. Everyone knew the stories of Aegon the Conqueror attacking Dorne.
Oberyn, who was too curious for his own good, slipped out of the castle. He wanted to meet this dragon rider.
The dragon circled Sunspear before landing on the beach.
A rider slid from its back. Their hood was up as they approached the second son of Dorne.
Was this the Targaryen girl everyone had been whispering about? Was this Oberyn’s niece? The sister to his slain sister’s husband?
Everyone gasped when the dragon rider removed their hood and there stood a girl with dark hair and purple eyes so dark, they almost appeared black. People were even more shocked when she knelt in front of Oberyn.
“The rose covered lion will be slain. If the snake battles the Mountain he will fall.”
Ellaria backed away slowly. “She is a Targaryen.”
“I have not come to conquer you like my ancestors. I have had a vision. I only come to warn you.”
“Warn us?” Oberyn asked.
“You, my prince. You are called the Red Viper, yes?”
Oberyn nodded. “Rise.”
The girl stood up. She walked over to her dragon and murmured a few words of High Valyrian.
The dragon took flight and disappeared into the distance.
“You send your dragon away? Not very wise, princess,” Oberyn said.
“If any harm comes to me, she will know. And then she will burn all of Dorne.”
Oberyn and Ellaria led their strange visitor to the palace.
Doran met her in throne room.
She removed her cloak, revealing a deep blue tunic and a sapphire hanging around her neck. “Aella Targaryen, descendant of Alys River and Aemond Targaryen. I come to relay a warning.”
She turned to Oberyn. “The rose covered lion will be slain. If the snake battles the Mountain he will fall.”
“You said that on the beach,” Oberyn said.
“I did not know if you meant me harm. I wanted the chance to relay the message. In my vision, I saw a golden lion with flowers in its mane. I saw it fall, blood coming from its eyes, nose, and mouth. The scene changed and I saw a snake. It was bright red. It was lying at the bottom of a mountain. That’s all I know. I wanted to warn you.”
“Where did you come from?”
“I am a traveler. If anyone should find out of my parentage, I would be slaughtered. I heard what happened to your sister and her children. I thought…I thought if you knew I was related to them, you would impale me with your spear.”
“We don’t hurt little girls in Dorne.”
Ellaria was looking at her. “You are the descendant of a bastard.”
“Yes, the bastard son of Alys Rivers and Aemond Targaryen. I have no right to the Iron Throne and I do not intend to take it.”
“Then why are you here? I am not your prince, yet you address me as such,” Oberyn said.
“I have heard of your skill with a spear and your founding of a Sellsword company. I have no allegiance to any house, but you have dragon blood within you. If my allegiance should fall to anyone, it would be House Martell. If you wish for me to leave, I will take Vhagar and disappear.”
Oberyn laughed. “Vhagar? Vhagar fell over the God’s Eye.”
“She is named in honor of my ancestor’s dragon. She is not nearly as large.”
“You have reverence for him? Despite being a Kinslayer.”
“Shouldn’t everyone have reverence for their ancestors? I do not condone what he did. He was not perfect and neither are you, my prince.”
Oberyn smiled, rather liking her fire. Oberyn gave her a shallow bow. “You may stay as long as you would like, princess.”
“That’s it?”
“Not everything requires a bargain.”
“You would take me in? Despite what my family has done to yours?” She knew Rheagar had dishonored his wife. His dishonor had started a rebellion that ended with his wife and children being murdered.
“You are not your family. As Ellaria stated, you are barely a Targaryen.”
She knew Oberyn was not trying to be callous, but his comment stung a little. She touched the sapphire around her throat. The sapphire that had been discovered after Aemond’s death. The one that had been passed down through her family.
A handmaiden accompanied Oberyn and Aella to her new chambers.
“I must thank you,” Aella said, “And I suppose, under the circumstances, you could call me Ella.”
Oberyn smiled. “Then you may call me Oberyn.”
“Oberyn.”
Oberyn stepped forward and placed a kiss on Aella’s knuckles. “Goodnight, Ella.”
“Goodnight, Oberyn.”

The Temptation
Tumblr media
TITLE: The Temptation PAIRING: Joel/Holly (OC) RATING: T CHAPTER: One-shot SUMMARY: Joel starts to slowly admit to himself that he has feelings for Holly.
[A/N - Can you tell I'm on a Joel kick? I really love these two, but I'm a sucker for a Grumpy/Sunshine pairing.]
“We should probably stop for the night,” Joel told Holly and Ellie.
They pulled out their supplies and started to make camp.
Joel was hesitant to make a fire, even though it was chilly that night.
The seasons were starting to change. Soon Fall would be over and Winter would be here. They needed to find Jackson before then. Or at least some warmer clothing.
“We don’t need no damn Clickers findin’ us while we sleep,” Joel said.
“Joel, it’s…” Holly started, but Joel’s glare shut her up.
Holly and Ellie set up their sleeping bags and pulled out some food.
Their rations were running low and they hadn’t come across a town or a store in days.
Holly took a few bites of her food and then handed the rest to Ellie.
“Are you sure?” Ellie asked.
Holly nodded. “I’ll be fine. I’m not that hungry.”
Holly was used to being hungry. She could remember going days without eating just so her son could have it to keep up his strength in the later days of his sickness. Holly could feel Joel’s eyes on her, but she didn’t meet his gaze.
The sun dropped below the horizon and the moon rose in the sky.
“You two better get some shut eye,” Joel told them.
“How much longer do you think?” Ellie asked, “Till we get there.”
Holly wanted to smile. She remembered her son asking the same question whenever they had to walk for days to find food.
Joel shrugged. “Could be a week. Could two. Depends on if we can find a map or someone to help us navigate.”
Ellie rolled her eyes and laid down in her sleeping bag.
“I’ll take the first watch,” Joel told Holly.
“You mean the only watch.”
Holly laid down in her sleeping bag and tried to go to sleep.
Joel sat with his back up against a tree, looking out at the forest.
Holly lay a few feet away from him. Her back was facing him and he could see she was shivering in her sleeping bag. She’d sacrificed her blanket and gave it to Ellie, claiming Ellie was more important than she was. Just the way she’d given her food to Ellie. Someday her generosity was going to get her killed.
Joel sighed. “Get over here,” he said, just loud enough for Holly to hear.
She rolled over. “Huh?”
“You’re not gonna get any sleep with you shiverin’ like that. I can practically hear your teeth chatterin’.”
Holly shimmied out of her sleeping bag and walked over to Joel. She sat down next to him and unzipped her sleeping bag so it would cover both of them.
“What are you doin’?” Joel asked.
“Don’t want you to get too cold either,” she told him. Holly settled herself into Joel’s side and Joel resisted the temptation to wrap his arm around her. He kept both hands firmly on the gun in his lap.
Soon, Holly’s breathing evened out and her head dropped to Joel’s chest. Her hair fell forward exposing her neck.
Joel wanted so badly to lean his head down and place a kiss right behind her ear. He readjusted her head so it was leaning on his shoulder, otherwise her neck would be killing her in the morning.
Joel gave in and placed a kiss on her forehead. “Goodnight, darlin’.”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
“Aww, look at you two.”
Joel’s eyes snapped open.
Ellie was standing in front of him holding the rifle.
Holly was still sleeping up against him, except at some point in the night her hand had come to rest on his chest right above his heart.
“Shut-up,” he growled.
The rumble of his voice awoke Holly.
She sat up and rubbed at her eyes. Once her eyes were less hazy, she turned to Joel. “Morning.”
“You want some coffee?” Joel asked.
Holly nodded and ran a hand through her hair. “That would be great.”
Joel got up and started to make some coffee as Holly pulled a brush out of her bag.
She brushed out her long blonde hair as Ellie walked over to Joel.
“How domestic,” Ellie said, “Surprised you didn’t kiss her good morning.”
Joel looked at her. “I’m serious, kid. Shut-up.”
Ellie simply laughed and went over to sit next to Holly, who started asking her how she slept.
Yes, the whole situation was strangely domestic. And Joel would be reluctant to say he liked it.

The Nightmare
Tumblr media
TITLE: The Nightmare PAIRING: Joel/Holly (OC) RATING: T CHAPTER: One-shot SUMMARY: Holly wakes everyone up when she has a nightmare.
[A/N - This is based on a dream I had and it really freaked me out, so I wrote a story about it lol.]
“Ellie!” Holly yelled, running through the forest.
On their way back to Jackson, they had gotten ambushed by a group of Clickers.
Holly had no idea where Joel and Ellie were.
Joel could handle himself.
It was Ellie she was worried about. Even with her immunity to the virus. A serious injury could still kill her.
“Ellie!”
Where could she be? Maybe she was hiding? But then why wouldn’t she respond to her?
Holly ran for a few more minutes before she spotted Ellie lying in a clearing. “Ellie!”
Holly ran to her side, but something was wrong.
There was blood spattered on Ellie’s face and she was staring out into the forest with a blank look in her eyes.
Holly reached out and touched Ellie’s hand.
It was ice cold.
Tears filled Holly’s eyes.
“Ellie?” Holly rolled her over and found a hole in Ellie’s chest.
The cry Holly let out startled the birds in the trees. She continued to scream even when she felt Joel’s arms around her.
“Holly. Come on. Wake up.”
Wake up? What was he talking about? Why was he not distraught like she was? Their daughter was dead.
“Holly!”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Holly opened her eyes and found Joel looking down at her. “Oh Joel!” Holly sat up and threw her arms around him.
“Shhh, it’s okay, darlin’. It was a nightmare,” he cooed as she sobbed. Joel looked up and saw Ellie standing in the doorway watching them with her knife in her hand.
Holly had been screaming Ellie’s name in her sleep.
“It’s okay,” Joel told her, but Holly was too distraught to even notice that Joel wasn’t talking to her.
Ellie nodded and went back to her bedroom.
Joel continued to soothe Holly until she calmed down.
She pulled away from him sniffling. “I…”
“You had a nightmare.”
“It was so horrible.”
Joel leaned up against the headboard with Holly sitting between his legs, her back to his chest. She grabbed one of his hands and played with his fingers as she spoke.
“We were on our way back here. I…I don’t know why, but we were ambushed by Clickers. We were separated. I didn’t know where you were, so I went looking for Ellie and…”
Holly couldn’t finish the sentence. She couldn’t get the blank look on Ellie’s face out of her mind.
“Hey.” Joel’s soft voice brought her out of her thoughts. “It wasn’t real. Ellie’s safe. We’re safe.”
Joel still went on hunting missions with Tommy, but they weren’t fighting for survival anymore. They led mostly normal lives here in Jackson.
“Do…do you think you’re worried about losing Ellie like you lost your son?” Joel asked.
Holly hadn’t thought of that. There wasn’t a day that went by that Holly didn’t wish her son Oli was still here. She imagined Joel felt the same way about Sarah. She still loved and missed her son, but Ellie had filled that hole in her heart. She loved Ellie like she was her own.
“It’ll happen one day eventually.” Holly tried her hardest to be upbeat and positive for Ellie and Joel, there were still times where she became melancholy.
This was one of those times.
“Not if I can help it,” Joel told her, “If I had my way, I would lock her in her room and never let her leave.”
Holly giggled. “I’d like to see you try. She’d probably figure out a way to break out.”
There was a knock at their door.
Ellie opened it holding Dominic in her hands. “He was crying.” Ellie handed him to Holly and she cradled him to her chest.
“I’m sorry, my love. Mommy had a bad dream. She didn’t mean to wake you up.”
Ellie crawled onto the bed and set her head in Holly’s lap.
Holly started humming a song and soon both children were asleep.
Joel kissed Holly’s temple and ran a hand over his son’s head. “Go back to sleep,” Joel told Holly.
“You can’t sleep sitting up. Your back will be killing you in the morning.”
“My back is always killing me. I’ll be fine. Go to sleep.”
Holly readjusted Ellie and Dominic and closed her eyes.
Joel looked down at his sleeping family. Nothing would harm them while he was still breathing.

"Alborotadora" - Javier Pena Blurb
Tumblr media
TITLE: Alborotadora PAIRING: Javier/OC RATING: T CHAPTER: Blurb SUMMARY: Lydie loves distracting Javier when he's on the phone.
There was a phone ringing.
Lydie hit Javier on the arm.
“Qué?” he asked.
“Phone.”
Javier groaned and sat up. He leaned over the side of the bed and pulled on a pair of jeans.
Despite Lydie’s best efforts, she couldn’t get the man to wear sweatpants. She heard him pad into the kitchen and pick up the phone.
He tried to speak softly, but she knew it was someone at the Embassy. Probably calling him about a lead in the case.
Lydie expected Javier to finish the phone call quickly, but he didn’t. Lydie sat up in bed and grabbed Javier’s shirt off the floor. She quickly buttoned it and left the bedroom. Lydie’s eyes met Javier’s where he was leaning up against the kitchen table.
At some point, he had managed to light a cigarette. He took small drags from it as he listened to whatever the person on the phone was saying.
The light from the bedroom lit her from behind making her look like she was glowing. She was like Javier’s own personal angel.
Her hands drifted to the button-up she was wearing. She never broke eye contact as she slowly unbuttoned the shirt starting from the top.
Javier snapped his fingers at her and shook his head.
Lydie continued unbuttoning the shirt. She watched as Javier swallowed.
His eyes traced from her throat down to her bare chest and stomach.
Lydie slipped the button-up from her shoulders.
“Hey Steve, I have to go.”
“Javi, wait!”
Javier hung up the phone and ran forward, scooping Lydie up in his arms.
“Alborotadora (Troublemaker)”.
“Mmmm,” Lydie said connecting their lips as Javier carried her back to the bedroom.
