Template Demons
Striking while the iron is ice-cold, that's me.
Helltaker is an indie puzzle game about breaking into hell to collect a harem of sharply dressed demon girls. It's about as serious as that description makes it sound, but the designs are very sleek - even those that never made it into the final product. I've seen some fanart of "Generic, the Template Demon" floating around, but these three either predate her or were discarded once her aesthetic was chosen as the one to carry forward. It's interesting how elements of several of the characters from the final game are visible in each of them; Blue on the left is a sort of Modeus/Azazel hybrid, for example. Credit to Rainbowcowdragon on Reddit for the background image.

Milia the Snipe
I was going to post this earlier in the month, and then the whole OGL thing happened. I considered making changes to divorce the character from D&D a bit, but eventually decided to leave it be; that situation is still evolving, and this particular character is a bit tougher to genericize than most. Future drawings of this kind may or may not remove the TTRPG context.
Anyway! This is Milia the Snipe, a character I created for a one-shot. She was designed as the ultimate spell sniper, capable of hitting targets from absurd distances thanks to metamagic and eldritch invocations... it's just a shame she was called in to fight a creature that could redirect spells and teleport out of the way of ranged attacks. Ah well. I had a lot of fun playing her regardless. Her grasp of how fractions work is shaky at best: she claims to be half-human, half-demon, half-dragon, and half-sword, despite the fact that tieflings and draconic sorcerers aren't "half" anything, being a hexblade doesn't affect your genetics, and her blade is a dagger, not a sword. It's questionable as to whether she's even right about the human element, honestly.

Artemis and Apollo
Loosely reinterpreting Greek mythology is still "in", right?

Cyclopean Student
Did you know that "cyclopean" means "very big" as well as "reminiscent of a cyclops"? Shame this seems to have been a normal-sized doorway.
A revamp of a character I originally drew all the way back in 2013. In this case I was specifically going for a more dynamic pose, and decided during the rendering process to go for semi-realistic shading as well. Time consuming, but the results are hard to argue with.

Crows and Cores
I return from my ongoing battle with grad school and my inability to focus on any task that takes longer than an hour!
Amphibia is a fun Disney Channel animated series that just ended earlier this month. I happened to see some concept art of what tritagonist Marcy Wu could have wound up looking like, and here we are. On the left, Miss Wu "goes full LARP" as the Lady of the Crows, and on the left a bulkier variant of her villainous makeover as "Darcy" apparently has the ability to levitate. Cool stuff!

Little King
Been slowly working my way through Ranking of Kings, and am enjoying it a lot so far! I've heard rumblings that it falls off a bit once you get further in, so I guess we'll see if they're right. Either way, Bojji is adorable and I wanted to draw him.

Fanart of animation Twitter/YouTuber Telepurte's character Nila. I am consistently impressed with how quickly this guy can bang out high-quality animations, while I struggle for hours to get a simple one-frame drawing done. And apparently it's his birthday today! Couldn't have timed that better if I'd tried. Happy birthday, wacky internet art man!

A gift drawing I made for my sister for Christmas, posted with her permission. This is an updated version of a character she created a looong time ago for a story of mine (starring these goobers) that will probably never see the light of day.

Burger-Flipping Phantom
I'm not dead! This ghostly griller, however, definitely is.
I originally drew her as part of the 30 Day Monster Girl Challenge, waaay back in 2013. Thought redrawing her would be thematically appropriate for Halloween, and as a bonus, I get to see where and how I've improved (or not) in the eight intervening years.

The Voice
Another character from the meme-team D&D game. This is Shriek Beak, who looks like a Farfetch'd and talks like this guy. Not what you might expect from a bard, but he turned out to be charismatic enough to talk the local talent at a tavern the characters visited into being his backup dancers after crashing the stage - and then into going on tour with him, becoming so successful that he barely has time or reason to adventure anymore. Not bad for someone who screams every other sentence and plays the dulcimer, of all things.

Praise the Sun
From the same D&D game as Ko Kioh Ko, it's...! sigh... Moltres Kanto, the Light Cleric. That's right, the remainder of B(ird) Team went full meme on their characters, with all of them being based on some kind of Pokémon... more obviously in some cases than in others. Moltres here is borderline monosyllabic, obsessed with physical strength, and full of vices for a supposed priest, but damn if he can't back up all that Schwarzenegger-esque bravado when it comes down to it.

The Firestarter
Was testing out a few of the fancy brushes in Krita and decided to make this little emblem for a D&D character of mine. He's a rooster-man wildfire druid named Ko Kioh Ko, and someday he's going to burn the secret society that runs the village of Wind to the ground.

Hello! Been gone for a looong time. This is a second redesign (hence re-deux) of one of my characters. It's also my first attempt at making a drawing in Krita, rather than Photoshop! I might have overcorrected a little on making the outfit more complex, but at the very least I'm happier with the color scheme this time around.

Spirit of Halloween
This beasty was designed with elements of every classic Halloween creature and motif I could think of: spiders, bats, jack o' lanterns, ghosts, skeletons, witches, scarecrows, devils, vampires, and black cats! Happy Halloween!
