I've written primary school level poetry so the "hydro dragon, hydro dragon, don't cry" is a real song/poem in Fontaine (for a fanfic, ofc)

Neil Gaiman, what are you doing EVERYWHERE?? Yesterday, you were in two knowledge bowl questions- one involved a reading from a passage in Stardust, and the other was "Which novel, written by Neil Gaiman, published in 2001-" (I didn't hear the rest of the question before I was shaking my teammate to hit the buzzer). And then, this morning, your name was one of the answer options to a radio show question about who wrote a Dolly Parton song. Sadly you did not write a Dolly Parton song.

here’s a fun animal I saw in Borneo: the mammal!
Tumblr media
unlike the rest of us, mammals are endothermic and produce their own body heat—but they’re not birds! it is covered in a thick coat of hair (you guessed it, separate evolutionary origin from feathers) and secretes a fatty liquid from special glands to nurture its larvae. mammals can be found almost worldwide and are highly adaptable. this one was making odd squeaking noises, possibly begging for morsels of food.
here’s another mammal I saw. pretty sure it’s a different species but I’m not an expert on identifying them
Tumblr media
fun mammal fact: some are curiously soft to the touch! try palpating the next mammal you see, but please be careful. some may bite!

forever obsessed with dynamics between vampires, specifically that of a maker and fledgling, as a way to explore abuse. the creation of a vampire itself can so easily be a literalization of the lasting impacts of trauma and also much more simply the ways a perpetrator might shape their victim’s very identity. the extremes of isolation in the way that the new vampire, in most narratives, must cut all ties to their mortal life, or else go through an elaborate charade to maintain the facade of humanity, while forever still being removed from it. and the sheer dependence and vulnerability of being in an entirely new state of being, wholly uncertain of what it entails, and relying on another person to define… everything.

Punctuation in Dialogue
"What is dialogue?" he asked.
"That's when a conversation is written down," she answered.
"Do the speakers need to be identified?"
"Not always. Every time the speaker changes, it should be in a new paragraph, so the reader can tell that someone else is talking."
"What about," he began slowly, pausing to collect his thoughts, "when the speaker does something else? Like an action?"
"The dialogue can be interrupted." She wrote a sample sentence on the chalkboard. "If it's in the middle of the sentence, two commas are used. It should also have a speech tag. However, if it's in between two sentences, both of them are closed out with periods."
"What if" —the bell rang shrilly in the hall— "the interruption is very sudden?"
"Then it's set o—"
A voice came over the PA, announcing the deadline for sign-ups.
"—it's set off with a pair of dashes," she concluded.
He scratched his head before saying, "Okay... I think I understand."
"I know it can get confusing sometimes.... If you ever have more questions, I hope you feel free to ask."
