and don’t let me forget the way his mother taught him piano because she’s a jazz pianist and his father taught him guitar because he leads worship at church. he loves his parents so much and I love his short drama where he portrayed his parents’ proposal story, knowing they would enjoy seeing it. I love his bubble updates and the way he texxxtttsss like thissss :)))) ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅎㅎㅎㅎ and he uses the creepy 😀 emoji as well as 🤨 which the latter suits him so well because that’s the face he always makes when the camera lands on him and I love him. I extra love the way he makes everyone around him feel so comfortable like jeno and enjoycouple said and is clearly evident in everything he does. I love the way he’s so genuine and hardworking- in sm, the trainee who practiced the hardest that year was given an award for doing so. yuta said he used to win it before mark came, but then mark won it every single year until he debuted. that’s him, that’s who I love. It’s so easy for us to be like “aw, that’s so cute! he practiced so hard”... but if you really think about it, every single one of them practiced with their blood, sweat, and tears. to come out on top of everyone... he was never handed anything and through all his success, he continuously surprises me with his humble attitude and unwavering determination. mark lee, almost a brand name now... he earned his spot in every group he’s in and I seriously have not ONCE seen him do a bad job in his work and that’s not just me being biased. God really gave him everything but the ability to cook eggs, huh? or anything in general according to the other members. but it’s okay because mark loves bland foods like pizza crusts and cereal and I love it. I love him so I grow from what I learn from his qualities; may I be so hardworking and humble as he is and not complain, only love on others.

I love him. I love the sound of his voice and the way he laughs. he giggles wildly and his eyes squint into crescent moons and his claps syncopate over the sound of his laughter. I love how he has a habit of hitting the person next to him too. I love how round his teeth are and when he grins, they’re so even and he truly does look like a baby lion. I love his little freckles- the one on the corner of his lip, the one on his cheek, and the one on the side of his neck. I love the way he could be smiling and laughing and suddenly something in his mind switches and his face goes all serious like 0_0 and his eyebrows raise and he looks so goofy and I love him. I love him when he posts his writing even though he’s nervous about sharing his work. I love reading over them to try to see what he’s feeling. he claims they’re “scribbles” I cherish them more than any literature written by others. I love the way he’s the nicest guy in the world and he’s always willing to help. he’s hardworking and grounded. I love his fuzzy black coat and his old jansport backpack. I love how he goes to bed pretty early because he really likes sleeping. I love how he’s supportive of his friends through thick and thin and he makes everyone feel included. I love how much he adores his parents and big brother and how he still prays before he eats because he was raised that way and he’s loyal. I love how he rarely ever cries but he did once at what he thought was his last concert with dream and another time watching sad video compilations on youtube with taeil. he loves justin bieber and bruno mars and his favorite doja cat song is candy. he does his little tip taps when he’s excited and if he’s especially thrilled, he’ll start jumping up and down full-force. he hates ketchup and frozen yogurt and he loves watermelon and fried chicken. his favorite song is viva la vida by coldplay and he’s really, really bad at cooking. when donghyuck broke his leg, mark was worried for him well after he was healed. his favorite ice cream flavor is cookies and cream and he used to dream of being an ice cream truck driver when he was young. he’s so gullible and boyishly innocent. yet, he also wrote whiplash. he loves wearing beanies when his hair is messy and he takes loads of vitamins and supplements to stay healthy. he’s extremely afraid of heights but he’s not afraid of bugs. I love him, I love it all. he makes me want to be a better person because I want him to be proud of who his fans are. he’s forever the best person I know and I pray everyday that he’s happy, that he’s had a good day. he’s my first thoughts in the morning and my last thoughts at night. he’s one in a lifetime, him, and I don’t know what I’d do without it all.

I literally can’t find the show mark said he cried but maybe someone else knows? It was definitely and interview with nct 127 and they said Taeil cries a lot/ is sentimental bc he always watches sad videos just to cry and he made mark watch it with him one time. Mark said he didn’t even cry at first but taeil kept forcing him to keep watching and eventually he cried a little 🥺 I remember this so clearly but idk what interview that was :((( and then I said he’s not scared of bugs because of the dream everland fansign - there was a bug that landed on the table and Chenle (next to him) was scared of it so mark flicked it away with his hands and didn’t seem bothered by it :’) I hate bugs so that really stuck in my memory

on a scale of 1-10, 1 being rarely and 10 being all the time, how easily would they get jealous?

of all times and places, you just had to discover your mutual love of animal crossing with taeyong right as you were about to leave for your anniversary dinner.

“___…,” taeil’s eyes flit nervously between his fellow bandmate and you chatting joyfully together on the living room couch. your lavish evening dress on full display and your hair all dolled up- you should be in his arms and not laughing at whatever joke the younger man just made.

“yeah, babe, I’m coming!,” you chide, toning down your laughter and grabbing your bag. as you get up off the couch, the pencil-thin heel of your cursed shoe slants, causing you to lose balance and grab the nearest object to steady yourself.

his blood pressure was already heating up before, but it reaches a full boil as taeil takes in the sight of you in taeyong’s embrace, your arms perfectly around the animal crossing enthusiast’s neck.

moving swiftly, your boyfriend pulls you up. without another word, much to taeyong’s fear, taeil tugs you to exit into the hall.

“tae, you okay?,” you ask, unsure of how to approach your boyfriend’s sudden quietness. the main vocalist always has a lot to say, but his lips remain pressed into a thin line as the sound of his black dress shoes against the carpeted floor fills the hall instead.

“you mean me, tae, or him, tae?”. contrast to his usual calm demeanor, his tone is spiked with annoyance and perhaps… oh.

“him. one hundred percent taeyong. I’m crazy for mister yong. I so wish today were my one year anniversary with him. who are you?”. you let the sarcasm drip out of your words as you yank your arm from his grip before you could get into the elevator. “tae, why in the world wouldn’t it be you?”.

you cross your arms as you await his reply.

his eyes crease shut and he heaves a big sigh, knowing that you won’t settle for a lie. embarrassment fills him as he ponders how to relay his jealous emotions, such emotions that he always tries his best to keep suppressed as far down as possible for worry that he’d seem too possessive. the last thing he wants is to upset you.

as taeil collects his thoughts, a smile slowly spreads across your lips at the sight of his painful dilemma. in a lot of ways, you’re the evil one for dragging this on because you already know what he’s thinking.

it’s your one year anniversary and you’ve grown to know a few things about your living teddy bear of a man. he may think he can hide what he’s feeling from you, but only behind metaphorical glass: you can see right through, crystal clear. and boy, it’s adorable.

“jealous…maybe? that I tripped into him?,” you help.

taeil sighs, “I’m not- I wasn’t- that’d be so-...”. he sputters as you chuckle and step in to adjust his crooked tie.

“aw, cat got your tongue?,” you coo teasingly, flicking the end of his tie against his chest before you turn to push the elevator button to take the two of you down to the waiting car.

you don’t have a chance to turn back around to face him as you feel his arms snake their way around your waist, locking your body against his.

“no, the problem is you’ve got me, you’ve got me good, ___,” his words brush warm against your cheek, sending tingles down your spine, “is it selfish for me to want you all to myself?”.

“with a line as gold as that one, how could I not be all yours?,” you giggle softly at the feeling of his cufflinks ticking at your exposed skin.

“so you’ll never talk to any other man ever again and be my twenty four hour honey flower?”. he almost doesn’t finish the ridiculous question before he’s lost to self-induced laughter.

“tae?”

wheezing is the only reply.

“tae.” your tone is more serious this time.

“sorry, what?”

“get in the elevator, or I’m going to our anniversary dinner alone”

hiii omg for your last chapter of off the ice i saw that you used tessa and scott’s gala performance (although they used a different song) and i wanted to ask how you found out about them? i was sooo obsessed with them after the 2018 winter olympics

but if you just knew them from that video that’s cool too and if u wanna watch more of them i highly recommend watching some of their other dances like their Moulin Rouge one !!! but yeah sorry i’m rambling i could go on about them and their history for hoouurss lmao i was just surprised to see them since it’s been a while 😅

I’ve seen their original too! Haha ok mini story time: when I first started planning the series I was really clueless about ice skating and hockey and I had to research from scratch. Really, all I knew was they’re both on ice and I wanted to write this because hockey mark = hot. Therefore, I must. I knew I wanted them to dance together for a big competition at the end since I started planning but I didn’t know anything about pair skating so I binged a TON of videos and ultimately came across this version of Tessa and Scott’s exhibition 😳😍and I knew it was the perfect one to inspire the performance in OTI. I watch it religiously and I’ve also seen all of their other dances like the one you mentioned! They’re just so amazing together and with the song perfect it just really ties together everything I wanted for mark and the reader. Not to mention their insane talent, chemistry, and intense romance on the ice it’s all just *muah* Yknow? And never apologize for rambling I love rambling! I ramble too :)) life is short, ramble more!! Ramble as much as you can and never stop ❤️
