How do you come up with such ideas 4 art? Xenomorph ceo 4 example

I look at a lot of art and media, and sometimes I think "that's cool, but I'd do it kind of differently." Then I do that.

Idk haha it's mostly just me playing with concepts I like, rolling them around in my head until I find the angle that's spiciest. I keep a list of half-formed ideas to come back to. Lists are great.
