Picture the scene: A group of Vulcan ensigns sit in a circle, cross legged on the cafeteria floor of a Starfleet ship newly departed on its five year mission. Holding a lyre is the elder of the group, a long-haired youth with a knowing twinkle in his eye. Beside him, a Vulcan girl of a slightly younger age, her hair twisted into an ornate plat which curls around her head like an elegant serpent. Together, they sing this ballad, passing the melody between them, sharing pointed glances at their enraptured audience. Human engineers, medics, and other assorted helmsmen stride past, surveying this gaggle of Vulcans with curiosity. 

“This beautiful ballad…” they ponder, “must be full of important Vulcan history, the likes of which humanity may never understand.” The Vulcans smirk at the looks of reverence of their crewmates’ faces. For they are, in fact, telling the story of how their ancestor boned the first ever human that the Vulcan race had ever had contact with.  He’d boned the human almost instantly, after a single shake of his hand.

so i figured it out. they de-arced him so he could go through the “adjusting to humans” thing again except worse. he’s less tolerant, has less impulse control, is generally less thoughtful, polite & kind, and the lessons he learns are shit like. “other cultures can be ok” and “u have to be nice to your crew” and “let other people do their jobs” etc. he’s more klingon while simultaneously being an AWFUL klingon. stuck between two worlds more like rejected by both of them for being a little bitch. bring back TNG worf who bakes his friends cakes, is socially awkward in a way that reads as scary, actively works to reign in his anger, and stands by his friends’ sides unflinchingly.

why are all the star trek games based on war and ship command and galactic fighting and war. i want diplomat simulator. i want skyrim for star trek. i wanna talk to a bunch of aliens about their farming rivalry and then go to the planet where everyones an italian mobster. i dont give a shit about upgrading the torpedoes on my battle cruiser to level up and destroy other ships in the New Online MMORPG. i want my entire ship to malfunction because an alien laid an egg in the nacelles and then i want to fix it by raising the alien as my own and then tossing it into space. what’s so hard to understand.
