Wish magick - the spells everyone is doing without even thinking about it and one of the most budget friendly ways to set intentions for manifestations you want to bring to life!

As I mentioned in the graphics, I love using wish ingredients in spells, especially for important spells (making my dreams come true). I save dandelion fuzz, fallen acorns, and birthday candles for this reason. It just adds that little bit extra magick to spells. It reminds me of the magician in tarot, bringing their dreams (wish ingredients) down to reality (your everyday spellwork ingredients).

Normally I would suggest only drying herbs so delicate as roses entirely inside and in shade, but, I think a bit of warmth helps to ensure a successful drying especially during the humid months of spring. Plus it makes for a great photo-taking opportunity.
The first batch or roses are done drying ~~ ready to be put into glass jars & little bags to trade and create with. Roses have many medicinal properties as well as magical associations too. For this reason a small jar of assorted roses make such a thoughtful gift. Roses can be used as decoration, in herbal skin care products, to add to a relaxing bath, or as part of a self love ritual.
Tumblr media
I will save a more extensive post about the medicinal properties of roses for another time as in this post I would really love to share a key tool for the herbalist that makes the job of collecting and drying roses possible – the woven basket.
As an active herbalist I am lucky to own many baskets, some of them were already here on the farm and repaired with willow by me, other gifted by my very thoughtful partner (<3), and more recently I have been experimenting with making baskets myself.

Grounding/Earthing
Tumblr media
I’ve been so interested in becoming more in tune with the Earth and the Universe and all of the energies surrounding me. Grounding (or Earthing) has been so refreshing. I love laying under a shady tree, clearing my mind, and thanking Mother Earth for all of her beauty and supplement. I lay so still that my body feels weightless and it honestly feels as if I am one with nature.
Tumblr media
“Just as the sun gives us warmth and vitamin D, the Earth underfoot gives us food and water, a surface to walk, sit, stand, play, and build on, and something you never, ever thought about—an eternal, natural, and gentle energy. Think of it perhaps as vitamin G—G for ground. What does that mean to you? Maybe the difference between feeling good and not so good, of having little or a lot of energy, or sleeping well or not so well. You can’t see the Earth’s energy but some people can feel it as a warm, tingling, and pleasant sensation when they are out walking barefoot along the water’s edge at the beach or on a stretch of dew-moistened grass.” - source
Tumblr media
“When you ground yourself, the entire body readjusts to a new level of functioning. Living Earthed broadly elevates your quality of life to a level that seems not otherwise possible.” - source
Tumblr media
How to Become Grounded (or Earthed):
+ pick a spot away from busy city life if possible. find a quiet meadow or a secluded stream. anywhere in nature that makes you feel at ease.
+ remove your shoes and wear clothing such as a tank top and shorts (basically anything that gives you enough skin contact with the Earth).
+ sit or lay down and begin to clear your mind. focus on the Earth’s energy. send out your stresses, worries, aches, pains, & heartaches to Mother Earth in exchange for healing, rejuvenation, focus, etc. thank the Earth for its provision and beauty.
+ visualize the earth’s energy. whatever it is to you. i like to envision mother earth as a jack of all trades. stirring the center of the earth into a boiling pot of magma. cross stitching constellations in the stars. pushing and pulling the tides, etc.
+ meditate for as little or as long as you desire. this is a great exercise for anyone suffering with mental illness. i have noticed that my anxiety has been greatly reduced after Earthing!

Russian Fairytales in pdf download, 1902 edition, illustrated by Ivan Bilibin from the National Children’s Literature Archive.
The first time I came across the whole books, and I’m totally fascinated - even the smallest details tie in so harmoniously. Just love it.
