Reefeon (Water/Rock)

On rare occasion, an Eevee can be affected by more than one environmental factor, and reacts to grow into a new, rare evolution. Reefeon, Water/Rock Eeveelutions, inhabit warm, shallow, tropical waters, predominantly in the pristine southern seas alongside colonies of Corsola. Thriving on a diet enriched with minerals from ocean rocks and sand, Reefeon develop rocky, coral-like growths on their bodies, with the unique coral formations on each individual reflecting their distinct diet and health status. Their coral reefs often become places of refuge for smaller fish Pokémon, who take shelter in the coral and are shielded from larger predators. As long as the individual is in good health, broken coral will be regenerated within days and additional coral can be grown quickly in emergencies, such as during battles. Pieces of broken coral are valuable to collectors and Trainers alike, and can be presented to domesticated Eevee in the hope of inducing evolution into this Water/Rock type. Featuring a lengthy and robust tail, Reefeon wield formidable, long-range attacks against their opponents. They leverage the prehensile appendage to latch onto substantial seaweed and rock formations, anchoring themselves securely during periods of rest.

A Tribute to Akira Toriyama

I don't usually post tribute art, I'm generally not the type to share my grief publicly. I'm not a good speaker. I feel awkward trying to express my feelings, trying to strike a balance between what I feel like I should say and terrified people will take me as insincere.

However I still want to share my feelings on Akira Toriyama's passing, even if I can't articulate exactly what I want to say. "Grief" is maybe a strong word - I didn't know the man - but I can't express what an impact this man and his work had on my life. Toriyama's work has been present through most of my life - from Dragonball Z in my preteens, to Chrono Trigger in my early 20s, Dragon Quest in my late 20s, and back round to the Dragonball franchise in my early 30s. It goes without saying that he's been an influence on my art and storytelling.

This probably wasn't obvious, given I'm not as vocal about Dragonball as my other fandom interests. I've always wanted to make Dragonball-related art, especially with how much I loved DBS Broly and Super Hero, but I've just never gotten round to it. Feels pretty sad that this is what provoked me into it.

I really just don't know what to say. I really struggled to put this post together. I felt like I should put a quote on the artwork, but that didn't feel right either. I don't think anything I could say or do or draw could ever express how much Toriyama meant as a creator to me. Even though I made fun of his lack of faces or reused designs from time to time, it was out of a place of affection, because it was just a trait of his work, and I loved his work. He was just great.

All I can really say at the end of the day is "thank you".

Rest in peace.

Guardian Angel Remake

Finally got this done! I've been working on this on and off for a while, a remake of some old art. I don't think it's anywhere online any more, but I'll chuck the original at the end of this post.

Not sure if I like this version better. I think on a technical level it looks better, but there's something off about it. Definitely went overboard with the effects!

I made the original as a bit of key art for an old comic series I wanted to make but never started (I have so many!). I still really like the character designs I made for it, so I might post them sometime.

Model Sheet - Bulbasaur

A model sheet for the other star of the MAP part I'm working on! Bulbasaur's a Pokémon I don't draw near as often as Chiko so it took a while to get the body shape I wanted down, but I'm super pleased with this. I like the buff chonk look for Bulba.
