The Bitterness Of Today
A moonless winter night, shivering in the cold, Fiona sips her coffee. Thinking of her past, how'd I get here, where am I going. Dreams full of the fantasies of tomorrow, nightmares of the wrong turns of yesterday. Blaming her culture, her society and her parents. Pointing at this moment as the fault of everything painful, everything empty. "I haven't cried in years" she thought. A tear rolls down her cheek. Unable to ask questions, ignorant to answers, estranged from the truth. Scared of death her whole life, afraid of life. On the road she's left behind, just smoldering rubble. The path to tomorrow, dark, haunted and hollow. Fiona turns to hug him, not of love, a gravely departure. Tearing skin, what's left of lust, the bitterness of today.

Why Tomorrow Never Comes
What none of us want, we shall surely get. Inked down in some gothic font, it will only take a little bit. Everything we ever dreamt, of peace and love. Washed away on pennies spent, for the sake of heaven up above. A generation sprung from hope, yet full of man's ballistics. A kid shot for selling dope, another number for statistics. Taught to pledge and not to think, sneaky biological repression. A whole society swallowing this drink, quenching our own regression. As time slips us into the future, we buy some stock. And robots replace butchers, like birds we all flock. Fill these days of distraction, let the sandman slowly creep. Let's miss the main attraction, counting nations full of sheep. Lay in bed at night, toss and turn wide awake. Rise and shine in light, keep sleeping through the quake. Hush little baby, best not to say a word. Don't rush and just maybe, we'll keep up with the herd. Turn up the music, listen to the pretty drums. Let this be the last of breaths, because tomorrow never comes.
