Peter’s sleep recently had either been encouraged by alcohol or forced upon him by deprivation. Often, he’d find himself staring at the ceiling in his bedroom on the Bowie. His eyes would follow the lines in the grey metal, hoping to find himself somewhere in between that cold material. Or maybe he was looking for someone else.

Head shifting to the side, he stares intently at the empty space beside him. Nothing but regret and guilt housed within those sheets. Swallowing back a gentle whimper that threatened to escape, Quill caves and closes his eyes. There was fear embedded in every action as though he was unsure how to even breathe anymore.

And how could he? She was gone.

The Journey -Her Perspective

I'll never know his touch again Those gentle hands with kind yet clumsy words An idiot in all his glory My space invader

Like a magnet I'm Pulled Unable to detach Stuck to his side In every universe

And as the melody Guides me between the cosmos Between both heaven and hell and beyond The lunar rays subside And I see him once more

My beautiful fool He listens silently through his tears And there's nothing I can do But watch Silent too

Our eyes lock And the lyrics speak of love lost But I will find him In every galaxy Through death and life we remain We must

The final parting note chimes And I retreat into the sprawling vastness Like an estranged astronaut Begging for solid ground That will never greet me

But in his orbit I will stay Never close but never far A devoted satellite Dancing with tangled constellations In the hopes that I'll catch a glimpse of him Just once more

The Tape - His Perspective

Each night she returns to him Not in the form she once possessed But in one he loves all the same With the click of a button She comes to him Lifted by sweet melody

Inside the bedroom that once housed yearning glances 'I love you's and 'I'll never leave you's Now only 'I miss you' remains Uttered from a single mouth and a cassette tape

But in the blink of an eye She’s there In all her glorious light As if nothing was ever lost As if he had never failed As if she had always remained His

And for a moment, he believes it For a moment her fingertips almost feel real As the ceiling opens and the galaxy unfolds into view Their eyes lock and the universe corrects all wrongs Reunited under the sprawling heavens The two lovers meet Again

The twinkling constellations that embody his love They sing to him Carrying lyrics into the cold emptiness of space Which awaits him once the performance is through The audience is silent as the curtains close And the swirling hues of the solar system unwind He's alone once more

There's a hint in that familiar song As though traces of a love lost remains Etched onto the very tape he holds So tight Delicate The man could crush it But he never will

With each rewind, she's back Within reach Yet galaxies apart they remain.

Romantic things that take my breath away

Slow dancing in the living room/kitchen to the sound of "Everybody Loves Somebody" (or another song with a special meaning for them) side smiles, butterflies on the stomach, listening to each other's heartbeats through the music.

Stargazing. One of them looking intently at the sky, saying, "Isn't this beautiful?" The other look at them and say, "I've never seen anything more beautiful." (my heart>>>>)

One of them is sick, like, really sick. And the other cancell all their plans to take care of them. (ooomg🥹)

In a car ride, one of them is really tired and falls asleep. The other don't want to wake them up 'cause they look so peaceful, so they keep driving for hours 'til the other wake up by their own selves.

After an awful day on work, one of them finally gets home late at night and see their partner awake. "Hi,honey. I was waiting you for dinner!" They say with the sweetest smile (🤧🤧🤧)

Even though they love each other, one of them remains insecure about marriage. "What if...What if I'm never ready?" "I can wait for you for ever, my love" (Sad? Sad. But a fluffy sad)

One of them returns from a long business trip. The first thing they do when they get home is hug their partner and lift them in the air as they kiss all over their face. (Oh SOOO cute💞)

Can we talk about the difference in how Peter's alcoholism and depression was handled in vol 3 in contrast to Thor's in endgame??? Like hello?!?!? For a millisecond I was worried they were gonna treat Peter like a joke but immediately they showed us the worry in all the guardians for his state, Nebula carried him and put him in bed and they all make sure he was ok, and even later they were talking about how worried they are and how they can help him, no jokes about his physical condition or anything like that and him being passed out drunk wasn't framed as funny but as heartbreaking and also they showed us Nebula being rightfully mad at Peter's actions and him taking responsibility on it and started trying to heal and becoming better, they all love him so much I just can't

already barely holding it together as they're getting their hand held but then they feel that reassuring squeeze and they just can't

feeling so lonely that they have to call their lover/friend, just to get a sense and reminder that they're still there

when the other holds onto their waist briefly as they're passing by and it just send chills down their spine

breaking down mid-hug because they just needed this so much

their breath hitching whenever the other gets a little closer

holding onto a stuffed animal/pillow, imagining that it's their lover in their embrace instead
