Yoga asses the internal value so that we can enliven the inner intelligence and illuminate the external values as we evolve into the eternal value. This is the reason I teach the yoga I teach. So I may be there to align with those that have gone through and are still going through the rebuilding process.  Depression is an understatement, for what I have been through, and I am certain, many of you feel or have felt the same.  Many times I found the burden too heavy to bear. That the company I kept around me were not ready for this energy, and some were and still are not. There are also those much stronger on their spiritual walk than I of whom, I didn’t want to burden with my problems so I remained silent. Illi, Lynell, and Maria Coleen are the only ones I could open up to and have their genuine unconditional loving support.  Maybe, you are addicted to self-sabotage, and manipulation, because it’s what you do to yourself the best. We make decisions based on loneliness instead of wholeness. Like Vaidya said in the beginning, one can not veil insecurities when self-aware. You either know the veil and choose to cover it with the ego or in turn, manipulating yourself into thinking it is self-awareness. Self-awareness, is consciousness that gives you the freedom to make a choice. To give yourSelf the room to grow. In the Jai Bhakti Blog that went out today, I get very personal about my mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual journey of how I began the path to the Art of Healing my Heart from grief, depression, loss/ fear, and the like. Mindset has the power to transform any obstacle into a mOMent of growth. @illistovall once said, “Pain is a by product of the external world.” Even though it may seem like a complete setback at that moment, it is an opportunity for divine growth. If you keep repeating the same cycles, you will not give yourself the space to grow into expansion and to see the big picture. Being focused on the minute will bear no fruit, but when one widens the lens, they see so much more. Grief, stress, suffering, heartbreak, are all emotions that are merely surface level to what are inevitabilities of the lives we live. No one said it was going to be easy, unless you choose to make it that way. One thought has the power to change your outlook, and to change your mental, emotional, and physical health. Otherwise, we get caught in the drama of what is known in Ayurveda as Pragya Aparad. (self-doubt and limiting beliefs that deplete the tissues of the body and lead to disease). Sit with yourself and for a moment, appreciate the pauses between the breaths. The pauses between the heart beat. What is the one thought you are having now, that is holding you back from your greatness? What is holding you back from your wholeness? A season of darkness needs only for you to allow the light to enter. It may be as simple as lighting the match, or flipping the switch to on. Mark your calendars loves. We are jumping in this month into The Alchemy of Creating Healthy Relationships by overcoming: Attachments Grief / Loss Depression Heartbreak Loneliness and discover what it means to understand the true nature of Self Love. I get real personal and vulnerable as I share a lot of my journey with you all. It has been an incredibly painful journey over the last few years, like most of us have experienced and expressed, but most recently over the last 3yrs that has been the hardest time. From the parting of my 10yr marriage, broken family, being homeless for a few months, the impact of COVID and having COVID, the financial loss of my business, the grief of losing my MOM, the separation of my “best friend,” etc… illuminating for me, what surrender means and embrace the high road. A road I had to travel on my own which led me on a profound awakening and a path very few are able to handle or even take. The path that you need to bring the machette and cut through the thick jungle branches in order to get to the incredible waterfall that few have yet to discover. Through the 4 pillars I often speak about, Reverence, Satya, Compassion, and Support, I attained the clarity to discover my true dharma (purpose) and also guide myself and others on this journey to creating healthy routines and practices to value your and my self worth. In turn, purifying the body, and making conscious choices to enliven the inner intelligence and to live in self-fullfilment through Ayurveda and Yoga. Pour into what you already have and create more of that through conscious intention and eliminating the cycle of self-defeat. “One moment of patience may ward off great disaster. Earlier this week on the IG TV live Podcast, we spoke on the importance of daily routines. In Ayurveda, we call this Dinacharya and the evening routine is known as Ritucharya. Over in the Jai Bhakti Blog, I shared a FREE worksheet that I use in my 200 hour Ayurveda Yoga Teacher Training that explains circadian rhythm and how to make the adjustments within one’s life to live in harminy with the natural rhythm of nature. Which in turn is your way of discovering balance and restoring optimal health. What is important to know, is that Dinacharya and Ritucharya are practiced based on the seasons and your dosha constitution. (Just like the seasons many of us are experieincing now. Figuratively and literally). Utilizing Ayurveda gives you the proper clarity to discover your dharma (purpose) and guide yourself on the journey to create healthy habits, purify the body, and make conscious choices to enliven the inner intelligence. Sometimes we get so caught up in daily life that we are busy being busy and not productive. When we are so focused on being busy, we neglected ourselves and in turn, neglect taking the time to nurture and have reverence for our life.  
This is a snapshot of what the worksheet looks like and it is my gift to all of you. Your health is my top priority and I pray these posts are helping you as best as they can. I will be posting the detox tea recipies per each dosha as promised in the coming days along with a few yoga poses to alleviate lower back pain and sciatica. Just 10 mins of yin yoga or any slow moving yoga practice can make a huge difference in one’s life. In the Jai Bhakti blog I share a lot of information about this along with lots of resources and tools to support your evolution into wellness and well-being. However, I wasn’t expecting to hear this incredible fun fact by Dr. Robert Schleip (@robert.schleip )of the importance of maintaining such a routine that it is now being recognized in the medical industry. There comes a time when one needs to make adjustments in their lives to live in balance and harmony with the natural rhythms of nature. Letting go gives us freedom. As one the most beautiful beings I have known posted one day on social media… “Do you ever struggle with thoughts on “when will the next devastating happen to me?” Even after a phone call with great news….I’m stuck thinking the next terrible thing is just around the corner?” As Tich Naht Hahn expressed in his quote, “freedom is the only condition for happiness. If in our heart, we still cling to anything, anger, anxiety, or possessions- we cannot be free.” Mindset and emotional turmoil can disrupt the natural flow and cycle of the gift of life and abundance. It can aggrevate the Agni (digestive fire) of our lives as I mention in my blog this week. Food is anything we take in from our environment, as well as what we eat physically in our mouths. We “digest” everything and we become what we eat. If you are struggling with thoughts on what the next devestating thing is, or, “how bad does it need to get?” then chances are, it may be time to shift your mindset, your environment, and create healthier boundaries of what you will allow into your life. To be free from these thoughts, is to free yourself from entering and falling into that rabbit hole. You DO have the power to overcome this. You HAVE it within you. A great place to start, is to sit with yourself and dive into that ocean of consciousness known as meditation, yoga and pranayama. There are many ways to meditate, but I prefer these 3. TM Yoga Pranayama They also are part of the 8 limbs of yoga that we live on a daily. @thismamameditates offers a daily meditation live on her IG and @meditationbob teaches the art of Transcendental Meditation aka TM This is a good place to start. IT’S DINNER TIME!!!!! Easy prep and ready to make your tummy happy 😊 all while keeping you healthy and booting your immunity. Sometimes we get so caught up in daily life that we are busy being, well, busy and not productive. When we are so focused on being busy, we can work ourselves sick. You can become irritable, sharp, cold, coarse, lethargic, fatigued, and if you haven’t noticed, these are qualities of the different gunas meshing into one another. Or, simply put, “hangry.” Eating balanced, nutritious, and wholesome meals is the secret to creating longevity and boosting the body’s immunity to fight disease. It creates OJAS which is the end product of healthy digestion that glows through the dhatus (aka, tissues of the body) that flows through the entire body. This is the “Nectar of Life,” as Vaidya Dinesh Gyawali states. Ojas is like the aura or glow and it radites through the entire being. When we maintain a proper diet and daily routine, we begin to enliven that inner intelligence and in turn, ward off diseases. “Agni is the medicine of the soul” according to the Rg.Veda that professor Roxanna Medieros shares with us (@houseofmoksha) It plays a pivotal role in purification, which we all need right now. As we have learned, there are three doshas, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. At times, these three little doshas tend to visit one another in the pulse creating a bit of havoc while intending to balance themselves out. Sometimes, they overstay their welcome and we simply need to do a little introspective work to get them back into their proper place. This may take a few nights or a few years, depending on how long they have overstayed their welcome in their buddy dosha’s house. As Dr.Kshirsagar and Dr.Magno mention, “finding the adequate Prakriti is critical in order to determine the course of treatment for the individual.” The dietary suggestions in the Jai Bhakti Yoga Blog posted on 1/17/2022 are designed for ALL diets, be it meat-eaters to vegans, there is something that will work for all of you. Most of these were taken from Ayurveda, A Quick Reference Guide by Kshirsagar, Manisha, Ph.D.; BAMS, DY&A; Magno, R.Ana Cristina BA, MS, AWC, CM, p. 30-33. You can use the Charaka Samhita, which I provide the link to the online version in the blog, to help you with understanding proper diet, throug the 6 Basic Principles of Ayurveda known as Shad Padarth. As promised, here is the recipe for the Vata Breakfast to try this week! Have lots of fun with it and adjust to your taste.(Rasa) I have also included a quick fix for those that do not have time in the morning to use the stove. It’s easy to prep the night before and then pop it all together in a wrap and goodbye! Apricots were added for the quickie version, but feel free to add them to the cooked version as well. Super ymmy. It’s always important to keep a healthy diet to boost immunity. Bonus, if you want to add some oatmeal to this, you are in for a super healthy and delicious treat that will have you satisied all the way to lunch without the mid-morning munchies. As promised, here is the recipe for the Vata Breakfast to try this week! Have lots of fun with it and adjust to your taste.(Rasa) I have also included a quick fix for those that do not have time in the morning to use the stove. It’s easy to prep the night before and then pop it all together in a wrap and goodbye! Apricots were added for the quickie version, but feel free to add them to the cooked version as well. Super ymmy. It’s always important to keep a healthy diet to boost immunity.
