Hey everyone!
I'd like to start off by thanking you all for the support on my last post regarding the genocide over in Gaza.
I'm making this post because I would like to provide another resource you can use to help the people of Palestine that was not included in my last post. I'm sure plenty of people know what it is and use it already, but I figured I'd link it anyway.
If you click the link provided below, it will take you to a website that donates money to Palestine every time you click the button provided. It's completely free, and you can click the button once a day (although as I was putting this post together, I found out that you can click multiple times if you have more than one device to do it on). If you've ever read a tweet from someone telling you to "do your daily click", this is what they are referring to.
So, yeah, click away, my friends!
Thanks so much for your time!

“Victoire often feels guilty about celebrating her birthday.”
No matter who tells her not to feel bad about it, she can’t help but feel selfish for celebrating her birthday when it falls on the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, a battle in which many people, including her Uncle Fred and Teddy’s parents lost their lives.

So I may or may not have gotten a burst of inspiration in the middle of a lecture and jotted down like a dozen headcanons to post on here. Love that for me.

🚨EMERGENCY POST🚨
Let's talk about Palestine.
My sincerest apologies for not posting about this sooner. My personal and academic lives have been very hectic, but rest assured I've been seeing everything that's been going on. I have been doing everything in my power to support behind the scenes, and have been working diligently on this post in the little spare time I've had.
Because the issue I'm about to talk about is very pressing, I'm going to need this post to go as viral as a post can on Tumblr. Remember my first KOSA post? THAT viral.
We all know what's going on over in Gaza. Israel has been responsible for the genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians for several years now, but in the past two months, conditions could not be worse for the latter. Tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians have been needlessly murdered by Israel's forces and several integral locations have been bombed, HOSPITALS in particular. An extensive list of victims that (retrieved from TikTok) has been attached below (though I know for a fact this isn’t all of them):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Donating to organizations that provide relief to Palestinians is ideal here, but if you don't have money to spare to donate to organizations that aid Palestine, here are some things you can do that do not require you to spend money:
Call your senators
Remember when everything about KOSA first came out, and I mentioned how you should call your senators to express your concerns? Calling them and telling them to call for a ceasefire in Gaza is of the utmost importance here as well. This is more of an American thing, but similar calls can be made to representatives for other areas of the world. Be sure to tell these senators/representatives that you will not be voting them back into office if they do not call for a ceasefire (assuming this is how elections work in your particular region of the world). You can also contact your senators/representatives via email as well.
Boycott Zionist companies/celebrities
The BDS Movement has put out a list of companies to boycott who support Israel and the genocide/ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. Although Starbucks is not on this list, it is important to boycott them as well. Other companies should be boycotted in addition to those listed by the BDS, but focusing on boycotting the companies listed (and Starbucks) will be the most effective. This is called "target boycotting".
Here is the BDS list:
Tumblr media
For a full list of brands to boycott, feel free to visit The Witness’ website. Also, check out the BDS website for tips on how to boycott effectively.
As for celebrities, simply unfollowing those who have been known to support Israel (ex: Noah Schnapp, Amy Schumer, etc.) and not supporting them financially should do just fine. As they say, hit them where it hurts, i.e.: Their wallets (and their social media followings).
Also, to my fellow fic writers, even though the celebrities themselves may not notice this, not using Zionists as face claims for your characters speaks volumes concerning where you stand on the issue. I'm currently working on a face-claim overhaul, meaning any face-claims I've been using who have expressed support for Israel will be replaced in due time (unfortunately, there are a few).
If you want to know what celebrities to boycott, visit the Reverse Canary Mission Website.
Use your platform
You can do this by either re-blogging this post and other posts about what is happening in Gaza or creating a post of your own calling for a ceasefire and supporting Palestine. This tactic is effective for any other social-justice cause as well.
PRO TIP: While reblogs will show up in the feeds of your followers, making a post of your own about the issue will show up in the list of posts for tags you add.
---
Please, please, PLEASE spread the word around. Every voice matters here. Also, if I missed anything important, please kindly let me know. Thanks so much in advance, and once again, I am so, so sorry for the delay.
To recap:
Donate to Palestinian relief organizations if you can
Contact your senators/representatives
Boycott Zionism
Use your platform
FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA PALESTINE WILL BE FREE!!!

Houses I'd sort the Next Generation into if I couldn't sort them into their canon/OG house
Teddy Lupin (Originally Hufflepuff): Gryffindor
Victoire Weasley (Originally Ravenclaw): Gryffindor
Dominique Weasley (Originally Gryffindor): Hufflepuff (although you could make an argument for Ravenclaw)
Louis Weasley (Originally Gryffindor): Hufflepuff
Molly Weasley II (Originally Gryffindor): Ravenclaw
Lucy Weasley (Originally Hufflepuff): Gryffindor
Fred Weasley II (Originally Gryffindor): Hufflepuff
Roxanne Weasley (Originally Gryffindor): Slytherin
Rose Weasley (Canonically Gryffindor): Ravenclaw
Hugo Weasley (Originally Gryffindor): Hufflepuff (although I like to think he was a hat stall between all four houses - found a headcanon for that somewhere on Pinterest)
James Potter II (Canonically Gryffindor): Slytherin
Albus Potter (Canonically Slytherin): Gryffindor (or possibly Hufflepuff)
Lily Potter II (Canonically Gryffindor): Slytherin/Hufflepuff (there are arguments for both if you include my own headcanons)
Alice Longbottom II (Originally Hufflepuff): Ravenclaw
Frank Longbottom II (Originally Gryffindor): Hufflepuff
Lorcan Scamander (Originally Ravenclaw): Slytherin
Lysander Scamander (Originally Ravenclaw): Hufflepuff
Scorpius Malfoy (Canonically Slytherin): Hufflepuff
Polly Chapman (Canonically Gryffindor): Slytherin
Karl Jenkins (Canonically Gryffindor): Slytherin
Yann Fredricks (Canonically Gryffindor): Slytherin
Craig Bowker Jr. (Canonically Slytherin): Hufflepuff
Delphi Riddle (Diggory) (Originally Slytherin if she had gone to Hogwarts): Hufflepuff (you could make a small argument for Gryffindor but we've all seen how fiercely loyal to her dad she is)

KOSA Part 2 (🚨PLEASE READ🚨)
First and foremost, I would like to thank you all once again for all the support on my first post about the Kid's Online Safety Act (KOSA). As of right now, it's gained 524 notes, but even one note would have made some sort of difference.
One of the reblogs on this post made a good point in mentioning that the info I provided was a bit too heavily focused on the fandom side of things (i.e. The fact that sites such as AO3 will be negatively impacted if the bill passes). To make up for this, I've decided to make another KOSA post highlighting other negative effects this bill will have that aren't fandom related. My sincerest apologies for only scraping the surface of this bill's severity in my first post.
Like last time, there will be a TL;DR at the end of this post, but I strongly advise you to read this the entire way through. There will also be a Linktree provided with petitions for you to sign, as well as scripts you can call your senators with if you are able to do so.
Here is a link to current information about KOSA (I reblogged the reblog on my OG post with the link in it, but reblogs don't show up in the tags so I'm plugging it again), as well a link to an article that highlights the dangers that come with this bill (Disclaimer: the article was written back in May so the info in it may not be as up-to-date). It is the second link on this post.
To summarize, the bill "sets out requirements to protect minors from online harms", when in reality, it will only increase surveillance and restrict access to vital information. In other words, the US government will get to determine what should/shouldn't be accessed by minors - or anyone else - online. In the eyes of Republican state attorneys, this includes topics about groups of people they have been going out of their way to strip rights from such as the LGBTQIA+ community. This would also allow them to censor information about mental and reproductive health.
They're basically trying to control how young people view the world through the internet and censor anything they do not want people - underage or not - to know about. This could also give Republicans the opportunity to spread their own propaganda to further negatively influence the minds of American Youth.
Another article I found (July 2023) mentions how KOSA, should it be passed, would "mandate parental consent when children under age 13 create online accounts and require providers to give the parents of these children the ability to change privacy settings. As a result, advocates say, children will be forced to tell their parents which sites they visit." This is harmful because if a minor is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, for example, and they visit a site that provides them with an outlet for expressing themselves, the site would be required to notify their parents. If said parents are unsupportive, this could put the minor in question in grave danger.
After reading all of this, you're probably wondering how you can help. A few things you can do include - but may not be limited to:
Signing the petitions in the linktree.
Calling your senators using the scripts provided in some of the links if you are able.
Interact with this post, as well as other posts about KOSA (once again, I normally don't ask for clicks like this, but desperate times call for desperate measures).
Create your own post about KOSA on every social media platform you can (You can use the links I've provided below if you choose).
We CANNOT, under ANY circumstances, let this bill be passed, so PLEASE do all you can to help. The future of American youth - and America as a whole - is at great risk.
If anyone has any additional information about KOSA, please let me know so I can add it to this post. Once again, I apologize for not going this in-depth about this the first time I posted about this. I promise I will do better in the future.
For additional and current information about KOSA, feel free to check out the following creators on TikTok. Much of what I've learned about KOSA outside of my own research came from them. Creators highlighted in green have playlists on their page dedicated to KOSA:
doctor_jason (Dr. J)
fightfortheftr (Fight for the Future)
yourfavoriteguy (YourFavoriteGuy)
juiceinaboxx (fanfiction father~ - His page is dedicated mainly to fandom-related topics but he has made a few videos with crucial info about the bill.)
omarsbigsister (alpha - I first found out about KOSA from this creator. You may recognize her from the video in my OG post.)
TL;DR: KOSA aims to censor crucial information and provide parents with surveillance into their kids' online lives under the guise of "protecting the kids". This will cause more harm than the bill lets on, and we need to do everything we can to stop it from getting passed. My sincerest apologies for not pointing this out in my last post.
STOP KOSA! Linktree
(posting raw links might prevent this post from being seen so I had to embed them in text.)

Here’s some up to date info on KOSA. Please read it!
(Also, sorry that my OG post focused too much on the fandom side of the bill. Let me be clear in saying that the fandom portion of it isn’t the most concerning portion of the bill and I should have made that clear from the jump.)
⚠️Hey, so this may be very (VERY) urgent:⚠️
So, I don’t normally do this, but something urgent came up, and I really need y’all to read this. There’s a TL;DR at the bottom of this post, but I strongly advise reading this post all the way through to gain more context on the situation at hand.
I don’t know all the details, but there’s this act floating around in the US called the “Kid’s Online Safety Act” - or KOSA , if you will. Here’s a description of it:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In summary, this law, if put in place, would aim to wipe out sites that could provide youth with life-saving resources, or even mention topics related to the LGBTQIA+ community and suicide prevention.
Now, obviously this is only a thing in America, so you’d think it wouldn’t affect the rest of the world, right?
Well, not exactly.
So you know how fandom sites such as Tumblr, AO3 and Wattpad provide an escape for many people across the world who are going through hard times (to put it simply)? I don’t mean to scare anyone, but if this law passes, these sites may be negatively affected globally.
Here’s a TikTok I found by a creator known as omarsbigsister that explains it better. It’s mainly about AO3 but Tumblr and Wattpad are mentioned too:
We all know why fandom is so important. Many people, as I’ve mentioned, use sites such as the ones previously listed to escape the troubles of their everyday life. In addition, fanfiction sites in particular provide creative outlets for writers across the globe. This law could possibly destroy this form of escapism and a creative outlet.
I’ve linked a link tree found in the above TikTok creator’s link tree at the bottom of this post. Please sign them regardless of where you’re from.
Also, y’all know I usually don’t ask for clicks, but interacting with this post in some way or even making a post of your own like this to spread the word would also be of great help!
We have to stop KOSA from being passed. The lives of America’s youth and future of fandom depend on it.
Thanks in advance!

“Since Hugo’s animagus is a black cat, he is frequently referred to as the ‘Hogwarts Dabloon Cat.’”
Also, I would just like to take a moment to thank you all for blowing up my post about KOSA. If there’s any post I’m glad is the most popular one on my blog, It’s definitely that one.
The fight isn’t over yet though. Keep signing the petitions in the post (it’s now my third most recent post so it should be easy to find), and call your senators if you can! There are scripts in the linktree’s sites that tell you what to say if you want to call.
Thanks again!❤️

hello red alert something people really need to know about:
do not pass around or accept collections of files enclosed .zip anymore.
obviously this already wasn't safe because it could lead to opening thus owning cp (of which, legally it does not matter how you acquired it or whether you wanted to).
however, Google now is releasing .zip and .mov website domains. putting two and two together with how Google already uses all data that it picks up from users across the web, their mobile devices, their non-mobile devices, etc. and reports seeming abortion risks without warrant:
I cannot emphasize this enough. do not open .zip. especially do not open anything .zip claiming to be community help resources.
redirects are NOT the only concern here; anything that uses Google Analytics or integrations was already a massive no-go. I can try to write up a post once I've processed but I still need to do that.
Hi! Thanks so much for making me and others aware of this!
Please read!!
Side note: I’d like to make a whole other blog dedicated to awareness type things. I’ll update when I do. I’m probably gonna call it “HP New-Gen for Change” or something like that. Either way, if I have even a small amount of platform, I’m gonna use it for good.

Edit: Since this post is still getting engagement (thank you all for the support!), I should mention that I made a second KOSA post highlighting how dangerous the bill is outside of fandom-related things. I highly suggest checking that one out, since the info provided is very important! It’s the second-latest post on this blog excluding the pinned post. Thanks!

The exception to this was a song she wrote about the Battle of Hogwarts from her parents’ perspective.
