I am currently in the process of writing my master's thesis. My research is about age & Star Wars characters. The research is trying to investigate whether there is a difference in fans of different ages liking or disliking certain characters that appear throughout Episodes 1-9. The survey takes about 5-10 minutes to complete, is completely anonymous, and you must be 18+ to participate.

The dynamic between Anakin and Cody is an absolute gold mine and we have to talk about it more often, just listen:

Anakin and Cody just don't click. Like, not at all. And it's the funniest shit bc Anakin and Rex? Great team. Cody and Obi-Wan? Very good. And it's super dumb bc Rex and Obi-Wan are their best friends and they are super chill but Anakin and Cody are most definitely not

They meet for the first time when Anakin is still a padawan and that's where the shit show starts

"But master, he's so boring"

"General, with all due respect, I'd like to put Commander Skywalker in a bacta tank and freeze it over"

Obi-Wan needs a truckload of aspirin

Cody's always been a very good tactician with a very good sense for strategies, so there are times where he really wants to stab his eyes out bc padawan Anakin just came up with another absolutely senseless battlefield plan that makes Cody's soul leave his body

Nevertheless, Cody has always valued a fresh perspective, too (and let's face it, he's best friends with Rex, he already knows a weird-functioning mind), so Cody listens to Anakin's ideas, takes the best out of it and makes it work

Anakin learns a great deal from Cody - his strategic thinking sure as hell remains unconventional, but he finally gets how to properly put it on the battlefield

(He also stops saying that Cody's boring)

(Cody still complains about Anakin to Obi-Wan, though)

After Anakin became a Jedi Knight and met Cody again on another mission, he randomly starts to complain about Obi-Wan mid-battle, fully believing that Cody will remain quiet because he's one of those commanders who don't talk shit about their general

Jokes on him, Cody opens his mouth immediately and Anakin basically gets hit by the Niagara Falls because Cody just won't stop ranting

That's how they finally start to bond. Obi-Wan, however, does not like these new developments

That one time Obi-Wan fakes his death? When Cody finally returns from his mission, he heads straight to Anakin's quarters with a big bottle of strong liquor and refuses to leave until Anakin talks to him. At the end of the night, they share their most ridiculous 'the fuck did he do this time' stories about Obi-Wan

Like, Cody and Anakin never really become close friends but there is a good deal of mutual respect and there is a mutual agreement to not hang out after work

Also, Cody's a real dipshit and never stops correcting Anakin's battlefield strategies, so stormtrooper Cody basically scribbles in every document of Vader ever and Vader is so done he promptly exports Cody to Kamino

Basically, they have this kind of relationship where you really don't know whether they like each other or not but they are an efficient team and just won't stop bitch-talking

warnings: as mentioned, spoilers. Heavy angst, bittersweet/open ending. Unresolved relationship problems I guess you could say.

Right Here Waiting For You (Wolffe x Fiancée!Reader)

He didn't come home. He promised that he'd come home and he hadn't.

Empire day would always be the day that Wolffe broke your heart.

You couldn't understand. He loved you, didn't he? Why would he ask you to marry him and then ditch you?

Maybe you were in denial of the fact that he could be dead.

No. He couldn't be. You needed him not to be.

So you continued with life. You helped Rex and Senator Chuchi and the other clones whenever you could, but so very often your mind would be on him.

And all of it lead to this moment. You wanted to cry out his name and run into his arms. But all the same it wasn't him. It wasn't the man who had gotten on his knees and asked you for your hand in marriage. Wolffe had a tenderness about him that not many people saw, save for you. But that tenderness had been torn away from him by the Empire.

"Mesh'la? Oh maker...you're alive!"

His voice, a mix of worry and relief, pulls you from the hurricane of your thoughts and memories. Tears gather in your eyes, because you want to believe, that just for a second, he's on your side.

But he's not. And though you still love him, you can't let the Empire get the better of you. So you step forward, dodging Rex's outstretched arm that's attempting to hold you back, until you're standing in front of the love of your life.

You pull his forehead down to meet yours and your noses bump against each other.

"I...I can't...we're on opposite sides of a new war, Wolffe. I'm sorry—." Tears are beginning to choke your words.

He squeezes his eyes shut. "I love you..."

"I know you do." Your voice cracks, betraying every wall you've built. "I want you to come and find me when you figure all of this out, hm? Come back to me."

Your heart yearns to say the words that you want to, but you're afraid they'll crush those walls for good. So you place a chaste, tearful kiss to his lips and back away towards the approaching ship.

As you walk up the ramp, you turn, and meet his mismatched gaze. Maker, he looks devastated, like he wants to reach out for you. But he doesn't.

Your voice is barely above a whisper, but he hears. He hears you say, "I love you too," As you turn away from him.

And once again you're apart from the love of your life, and those walls turn to dust.

But only for a little while.

Thinking a lot about how by the time TCW comes about Anakin has already committed a grievous sin, already committed a massacre, already chosen his side in some ways. The man Ahsoka knows, the only version of him she ever gets to know, is built on an assumption of purity he has already lost.

He has already begun to fall, and this slip contributes in so many ways to his inability to pull himself back. Because the only person other than Padmé he tells his crime to is Palpatine, because he's the only person who won't judge him (and that in and of itself is a measure of his immaturity–– because he deserved to be judged).

And this contributes so much to Palpatine's control because he has this piece of the puzzle, this ability to go "Oh, but what about this?" any time Anakin tries to pull back from Palpatine's confidence. Because they both know if he ever admitted it to the Order he'd forever lose their approval, and that's what matters most. So Palpatine has this advantage, because he knows more about Anakin than anyone else and Anakin doesn't feel he can confide in anyone else.

But the thing is: for so long, Anakin wants to be better, wants to amend himself for this sin and more than once wants to confess to Obi-Wan, but every single time Palpatine is able to go "Oh but he thinks he's so much better than you, he would never understand you, he would judge you and tell the Order and they'd cast you out" but... Obi-Wan would have forgiven him anything.

I think a lot about Obi-Wan being such a Perfect Jedi (in the eyes of everyone else if nothing else) and how much that hurts Anakin. Because every time he tries to pull himself back from the ledge this epitome of what it means to be a Jedi is just there in his face reminding him of his own failure

Fox stares, silently, at his brothers. Thire has a wide grin on his face, even as he holds an ice pack over his eye. Thorn is pinching the bridge of his nose. "...what, exactly, is going on here?" Fox finally asks, not sure if he wants to know. "He was being a pain." Thorn hisses as he glares at Thire. "I have a concussion," Thire says cheerfully, "Because I didn't even try to dodge." "...why?" "Because now he can go to Sen and get her to dote on him because he's hurt." Thorn says flatly, "Permission to throw him in the dumpster. Where he belongs." "Denied." "I know you're only saying such hurtful things because you're jealous-" Thire chirps. Thorn scowls and rounds on his brother, and Fox steps between them, "Okay, children. Let's take a step back. Thire, go to medical. Thorn, go for a walk, get some air." "But-" "It's fine. I'll handle it. Go get some air." Fox lightly nudges Thorn away from Thire, and then turns to his other brother, "Really?" "In my defense, I didn't think he'd actually hit me." Thire admits. "Just...go. Get yourself looked at." Fox sighs as Thire heads in the opposite direction. He needs to get his vod something to do. Or this whole situation is going to go to hell.
