Making Friends!

I'm sure it's just a costume Zoe! No need to panic over 9 of 10, Primary Adjunct of Unimatrix 242 Nixie being very... erm, in character. It's all for show! PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE SHARP NEEDLES!

Suffice to say; its a recurrent thing that at least once every one or two years, I end up drawing up a Borg-related piece. And it was about time for another! (Yes, I know; its an odd tradition!)

Drawn over the last few days, mostly streamed on my Twitch (same username as here!). Already have a few ideas for a sequel piece, but that won't be for a little while.

Faithless

In yesterdays session of D&D, our partys half-orc warlock-sorcerer Maz (played by the sheerly brilliant RP-ing tour-de-force that is @fractalizing-grace ) succumbed to the power of an ancient evil artefact she decided to don and attune to. In a grim mixture of wanton knowledge against the threat and power to help protect against calamity, she had equipped the gauntlets with noble intentions. But over the session, her resolve eroded and she was now a herald for the ultimate evil.

We... we had a heart-wrenching and heart-breaking episode, with the remnants of our party trying to free her from this curse. But in turn; she brought her powers and new insidious abilities to bear, and with not much choice; we had to bring Maz down before she would kill us all.

So, here is a moment in time from when Maz became a twisted avatar of a would-be-god, and a gift for her brilliant player. Terrifyingly badass. :)

Thought I would share some concept doodles sort of semi-brought on from some of last years Hypnovember stuff and some villainous pics of the last couple of years. In short; I have been daydreaming a story playing on some of the ideas and characters I've had laying around. Not entirely sure this would ever gain traction, but I'm at least back-burner building this universe, characters and a narrative. I'm not sure if people would want an anthropomorphic sci-fi meets dark romance story with some comedic twists... But still, its fun to build on as I ponder. :)

The Dreamer & The Weary / Talking to Myself

A small bit of vent-adjacent art.

In short; the end of year introspection and criticial analysis has been in overdrive. And in ways, that feels like having to be heavy handed with, well, aspects of myself.

I'm pretty sure we've all had to have these imaginary chats with ourselves from time to time.

Quibble & Quarrel

In the D&D campaign I write/DM for, there has been some horrid situations for a beloved librarian NPC the players interact with; an adorable Forgeborn librarian called Quibble. He's had to begrudgingly take a warlock pact to escape a dire situation (which technically the players caused... <_<), and so now he's graced with a Form of Dread nicknamed Quarrel.

I'm sure this won't cause any number of issues...! :P

HYPNOVEMBER 2023 DAYS 1 TO 30

There we go. A bit late in completing (thanks IRL stuff...), but there is all 30 entries!

Was kinda fun, although certainly taxing on my muse. Definitely have a few pics or concepts in here I might refine at a later point. But for now; that is that!

A huge and big thanks to all those who have supported the pics; it's been greatly appreciated. :D And also a massive thanks to a person (who I will keep anonymous) for thier help and encouragement to try this art-month, despite my apprehension. :)

Perhaps we will see some more next year? :P

"For my next trick; my lovely assistant... will get a raise."

I'm sure she's long overdue a wage increase for dealing with all his BS between shows and such. But when you are the shadow of the magician; you can learn a few tricks yourself... :P

Thought the idea of an assistant "pulling the strings" was an interestin vibe. Also, couldn't help but riff on the "bunny in the hat" trope too. :)

Hypnovember 23: Prompt 27 "CRAVE"

Normally, Nixie wouldn't ever read the blurb on the box. Why would she? It's just a bunch of waffly nonsense. But after her 6th-bowl-in-a-row of HYPNO's (the unquestionably nutritionally compliant breakfast cereal, now fortified with 50% extra OBEY!)... her stomach was not happy. Perhaps the ingredient list would state the culprit to this addictive dark-chocolate-n-bran morning food...

Ever since I saw "Crave" on the prompt list, I've been giggling with the notion drawing something stupid for it. :D

Semi-based on a few in-jokes between fellow artists/friends, and some personal experience (I distinctly remember there being a cereal during my uni days that was incredibly addictive and similarly causing stomach issues!)

"NO; U!", you sassily snap back playfully pulling the Yellow Reversal Card into view. Stammering partly in shock, her mantras become fragmented; chopped up by her growing state of confusion. "This-... isn't eve- ...-n... poss-.... p-possible!"

I could not help but do something silly with that prompt for the day! XD Besides, I've had too many ones played straight, so forgive a little chaos... :P
