Happy Friday! We made it thru another week .... in this house, the weeks and the weekends kind of flow together. As a working mom, who works from home, there's little change in the routine and believe me, the devil loves to remind me of that. There's no just getting out of the house to walk around a mall or visit a bookstore (something I used to enjoy but now I'm cautious because I have responsibilities). There's no dinner out (fridays are for curbside and eating in the sunroom). Our vacation plans for the year have been cancelled -- Congress was cancelled earlier in the week 😔. And when my special needs daughter cries because she misses her deceased brother, that hits me hard (and almost makes me find every sugary food we have in the house 😳😬). It has been a very long week, not just work wise. Do not mistake my quiet and gentle spirit for weakness. I am a mighty warrior. I am a child of God. My prayers can move mountains. Sometimes are prayers are NOT answered in ways that we wanted. And other times, God allows them miracle we have been praying for to happen. It's always in His hands, His control. Maybe one of your prayers wasn't answered in the way you wanted, did you turn away from God? Some people do. But I am here to remind you that God doesn't go away .... He is waiting for you to come back to Him. There was a time in my life that I didn't feel very close to God, but I soon realized that it wasn't Him that had turned His back, it was ME! I had stepped away from Him. I took a lot of time during lockdown (still had to work because we are essential) to reflect on my prayer life. It's easy to take God for granted but if we stop and just look around us, we can see that He is always near. Take a few minutes today and thank Him for all the blessings. Good morning! I put a new post on the blog last night ....Behind the Scenes. Yesterday was a tough day .... extremely hard. As a mom. As a boss. As a wife. And when I sat down at the end of the day, I realized it, I should have prayed more. More about my day. Have you ever felt this way? 🤔 As I start a new day, I want to remember to take it to the Lord in prayer FIRST, then react. This has been an area of "work in progress" for me this year. Monday! New day. New opportunities. Some people LOVE Mondays and others, not so much! Because I love what I do, I don't mind a Monday. It doesn't mean that I LOVE everything about my job, it means I am passionate in what I do. Barn chores are not easy, especially when it's hot and humid or freezing cold, but I love the animals so it makes the job easier. I'm not crazy about all the bookwork associated with owning a construction business but I love what I do and all the men that work for me (and with me) are like one big family. Sunday. Church. Family time. My fitness was so on track .... and then ... INJURY! Anyone else relate? Now I'm back to walking .... S L O W! But slow is better than not at all.
