Re-writing the Sequel Trilogy Part 1

The scene starts with Rey as a small child. She is a student at Luke’s Jedi academy and has been showing promise like the other students have. One night she walks to a secluded area to get some meditation time to herself. She sits and begins to feel the force all around her, but what she doesn’t know is that she will experience something that will change her life.

A voice cries out in anguish and the feeling of fear begins to take over her mind. Finn, also a small child at the time, is being kidnapped and watching his entire village burn down- his parents along with the adults in the village are lined up and executed. He is being kidnapped for the First Order stormtroopers.

Not knowing about his own force sensitivity, his cries are heard by Rey and they share a connection. For years, Rey is disturbed by the voice of the little boy in peril.

Time passes and the top students at Luke’s academy are Rey and Kylo/ Ben (maybe Grogu too, but he’s too cool for school). Because they are the top students, a rivalry soon emerges and resent begin to cloud Ben’s mind. “I am from the Skywalker line, she comes from nothing! How is it so easy for her to reach my level?” Due to his anger and hatred, Ben is easily turned to the dark side and leaves the Academy without a trace and the First Order rises.

Determined to keep the peace as he believed his father once did, Luke begins to train his students to fight against the First Order- with Rey being one of his strongest students. It is at that point, he begins sending them out to maintain peace and fight the First Order. Also during this time, Finn has already finished his training as a Storm Trooper, and like The Force Awakens, he is questioning his actions.

During one of Rey’s missions, she hesitates to put down a stormtrooper. He wouldn’t attack her because his feelings told him not too and she notices this. Once they are isolated from the rest of the people in the scene, they share a moment of nostalgia and realize that some how, they know each other. Rey then remembers the boy who cried out that ill-fated day and realizes, “It’s not too late, I can still save him”. He surrenders to her and she takes him back to the Jedi temple.

Of course, this is where a bit of tension happens (as it normally does in any film where a “bad guy” turns good). Luke, being one to see the good in everyone, is more accepting than Leia, who through the years is a more skeptical woman due to all the times she has been betrayed.

Unlike The Last Jedi, Luke is more of an optimist like he was in the OG trilogy. He is more open to new ideas and people. Seeing Finn to him is like a miracle. It reminds him of how he saved his father but never saw it come to fruition. He is absolutely pumped that Rey gets the chance to do what he could not.

Leia does not dislike Finn, but she does not trust him. She had more dealings and experience with the Empire than Luke ever did. She knows what they can do to a mind. To make someone so loyal without question. But there is something they share in common. Finn lost everyone. Just as she had when Alderaan was destroyed.

She has a heart-to-heart with Finn and (I haven’t decided on this part yet) becomes his Jedi master/ mentor. His training begins with understanding the force. Y’know the usual “it’s every where and in all of us” shit. There’s a few moments of horror for Finn since he does need to explore his feelings which leads him to remember how his life was destroyed by evil.

It is also during this time that Rey trains him a bit on his combat skills. Being a former stormtrooper, he of course has skills, but not enough to match the skill of a highly trained Jedi knight. It’s a bit embarrassing at first, but he gets the hang of it.

There is an issue though. Like Katooni from the youngling episodes, Finn just can’t seem to craft his lightsaber. He tries and tries, but his built up frustrations about his upbringing and the fact he felt powerless to the First Order prevent him from completing it.

now this is the corny part, cause what’s a film without corny-ness?? Ahah. Finn and Rey begin to fall in love because of their force bond and cause they’re both hot. The connection being so strong that their bodies will sometimes move on command when fighting together. It just comes naturally. 

So I guess there needs to be an actual plot here, Kylo is ofc the villian. He’s still butt hurt that Rey was able to catch up to his abilities despite having no lineage. He’s with the First order, Snoke and all that shit and their goal is to destroy the Jedi order, except they aren’t Palps so they suck at it. Like Count Dooku, they seek political control therefore making them violent aggressors, something the Jedi order always stood in the way of.

Because of the threat of Kylo approaching, Finn finally completes his lightsaber, realizing that even though he had no control of his life before, he has it now. And he has the choice to fight for it.

BLAH BLAH BLAH, main fight shit, heroes win blah blah, villain escapes so another movie can be made…. BLAH BLAH BLAH

Finn and Rey defeat Kylo, but they know he will return. They stare off into the distance knowing full well that they will need to prepare.

and then grogu comes and eats Kylo Ren, the end

So this was honestly laying a foundation for the story. I was more focused on the Jedi aspects. Of course Han Solo, Poe Dameron, Kix, and others will be included.
