The GOT adaptation chose a good actor but then proceeded to completely derail the character by making him kill his own daughter by burning her alive in a ritual. Book!Stannis would have burned the whole world before his daughter, as his explicit wish is to put her on the throne of the Seven Kingdoms. GOT!Stannis then goes on to be killed off in an undignified manner and his arc is completely abandoned by the plot, while in the book he survives and is still one of the major players in the narrative. Though I suppose the whole cast of the books deserve to be in this poll. I bet they already are. I will vote for all of them and nobody will stop me.
