You ever remember a random situation from when you were a kid that didn’t mean much at the time, but ended up having an impact on you later in life? When I was younger, I was on vacation with my cousins and every now and then I remember a conversation that a couple of the adults were having about me. I went to grab a sugary cereal to eat and I overheard a comment being made about what I was eating; “Well she’s a growing girl!”.... “Yeah, but growing which way?” 🙃 Now it really didn’t mean a damn thing to me at the time, but I constantly think about it. It was over 15 years ago and it’s still one of the random moments ingrained in my head when I’m having bad body image/body confidence issues. No it’s not what caused me to have my body image issues but it’s just one situation on a list of bullshit I’ve heard growing up. It made me feel more embarrassed about eating in front of other people, like if I wanted to eat the “unhealthy” foods I had to do it in private or feel incredibly self conscious when eating anything around others. Now I’m 29 with a 4 year old and a mom bod and the most confident I’ve ever been. Does that moment still mess with my head sometimes? Yeah absolutely! But I refuse to let myself feel negative about how I look and what I eat anymore. So I’m going to eat what I want, wear the things that used to make me uncomfortable, and fucking rock my newfound confidence 💪 I took the judgement and opinions of others out of my closet and replaced it with this cute cropped sweater instead 💕 https://www.instagram.com/p/CNtQX6hhVKI/?igshid=lro1sgn25z5e
