Everything is like “QUEER history” and “List of QUEER young adult books” or “Top 10 QUEER movies” and queer this and queer that and for the love of god please just say LGBT.

#queer also (at least academically) means non-conformity to heteronormativity #which means it is BROAD #and that a lot of LGBT+ people are not queer but “homonormative” #like lesbian terfs #would not be queer #for example #because they are upholding the gender binary which is a very not-queer act #but you could argue people who do not want to get married and have children ARE queer #because they're refusing to conform to the heteronormative timeline #all this to say QUEER IS MESSY and it is wonderfully beautiful freeing and enlightening #lgbt #queer #lgbt community #tumblr
