Hi, I'm an insomniac with anxiety! *shoots finger guns*
I'm in way too many fandoms, there are a few main ones, but it all changes constantly
you can expect
Merlin l Julie and the Phantoms l SPN l Criminal Minds somehow? l I guess The Vampire Diaries too now wow ok, that's all happening apparently X-Files might make an appearance too g e e z
(she/her)
a fun fact that people may not know about me is that i’m regular about media. i’m so normal about things i enjoy. i never ever get weird or obsessive about them and I consume and enjoy them completely normally. also im a fucking liar
i need to get this out, but i’ve been watching the vampire diaries (guys i can’t i think i might be in love with it) and it’s really good, and i only have two episodes left (ahhh) but a n y w a y what this mess of a post is trying to across is
i feel like whenever damon or stefan mess up, or turn off their humanity, or whatever, they have really different ways of trying to make up for it, in that damon actually seems to either 1, try to actually make amends and fix his mistake or 2, have people realize that yes, he definitely messed up and needs to do better, but there’s a bigger problem now guys
but with stefan, it’s almost like he never really tries to fix stuff. like, he’ll go and apologize or whatever, and he’ll act the martyr to go fix it, but he always makes it about him. it’s his guilt, his mistake, it’ll live with him forever, he needs to fix it. damon just gets it done, but stefan kinda wallows in it, which makes everyone feel like they have to forgive him.
basically, stefan is seen as the good guy in no small part because he makes everyone a participant to his guilt. damon just gets things done.
sam and dean basically live alone in a mansion. how many empty rooms does that bunker have? how freakin dusty is it?? like it’s basically screaming at them to build the family they’ve always wanted. anyway this is to say that like remember when they give mrs butters the photo of all the MoL to take with her? well in the finale we should have seen them hang up a new family photo in its place. and then the camera zooms out and it’s surrounded by photos of everyone else. jody and donna and the wayward girls. garth and bess and the kids. kevin and linda tran (both alive, duh.) charlie and stevie. etc. etc. turn around and it’s the extended tfw 2.0 sitting around a table playing a board game and eating pizza with jeopardy on in the background. carry on wayward son but not the stupid pop cover plays.
two like former buzzfeed twitter verified white women make a true crime podcast covering the mysterious disappearance of Kelly Kline. One of the hosts of “Who Killed Kelly Kline?” is positive it’s a government coverup, the other one thinks its linked to a satanic death cult. They link Kelly to missing persons cold case, Jimmy Novak when someone finds their burned remains in Washington, which is ANOTHER rabbit hole they go down. Since he appeared to have been kidnapped by a satanic libertarian cult in 2009 led by two brothers who apparently died in a shootout in 2012 but HAVE been seen since, the last time was when they attempted to assassinate president rooney who kelly kline WAS sleeping with. and THEN kelly’s parents go on the record to talk about when a strange boy named jack visited and started asking questions about kelly. its like a HUGE cult following podcast that later gets adapted into a netflix documentary called Who Killed Kelly Kline: Murder, Scandal, and the Occult in the Rooney White House.
What was the pitch for Dean Winchester’s death scene though?
“Let’s give this severly traumatized character who is the main pov of the show random, horrible and stupid death instead of completing his journey to self-actualization because we don’t want to send positive and progressive message to our loyal fanbase that identifies so much with this character and his struggles?”
Here’s a thought: death as the go-to solution is overrated; letting your characters live is actually more groundbreaking and positive twist to the hero’s journey. Finding yourself in the new reality, life after the big final battle and making that life meaningful again, struggling in that but finding new purpose.
Dean Winchester deserved better: what a complex character, what a potential, what an actor to portray him, what a journey this could have been, one for the history books, for sure.
i- i really can’t get away from it, huh. supernatural is. just going to be everywhere huh. i go on tumblr. it’s there (duh). i hear bon jovi. it’s there (again, duh). pie, there. “son of a bitch”, there. angels, demons, blah blah blah, there there there. my family watches Nailed It during dinner and it’s Marvel themed and so ofc i’m like oh nice and BAM Felicia Day is the guest judge
DONT JUDGE but yeah i just watched the spn finale (I KNOW, OKAY I WAS AFRAID) and i need to talk about this but it’ll be too long so i’ll just do it in the tags but be prepared i’m venting so yeah you might relate
