I need an answer + explanation for this question plz!!!! it's great to see an actual blog that answers, but I'm not sure if you're active....
The question:
The last common ancestor of all bilaterians is thought to have had four Hox genes. Most extant cnidarians have two Hox genes, though some have three Hox genes.
On the basis of these observations, some have proposed that the ancestral cnidarian's were originally bilateral and, in stages, lost Hox genes from their genomes. If true, this would mean that ________.
A) all radially symmetric animals should be grouped together in one clade
B) the radial symmetry of extant cnidarians is secondarily derived, rather than being an ancestral trait
C) Hox genes play little actual role in coding for an animal's "body plan"
D) cnidaria may someday replace porifera as the basal bilaterians
First off, answer is B) the radial symmetry of extant cnidarians is secondarily derived, rather than being an ancestral trait.
Let's say the ancestral cnidarians were originally bilateral + they lost Hox genes from their genomes in stages.
That would lead to their current radial symmetry so it would then give the possibility that the radial symmetry seen in extant cnidarians ( from the evolutionary changes from an ancestral bilateral symmetry)
Based on that, radial symmetry in cnidarians is a derived characteristic, not an original state.
So the little theory this question gives basically challenges the traditional view of radial symmetry.
It basically proposes that radial symmetry ain't a primitive trait; but rather a secondary development in certain lineages like cnidarians.
hope that helped 🫡

c) -COOH
!!!!!This isn't from a test, and I'm not cheating!!!!
U sure??? 🙊
jk jk, the answer here is the c)-COOH.

Could u answer this question, my Brainly isn't working and I already asked a bunch of blogs this question:
A club consisting of 11 men and 12 women needs to choose a committee from among its members so that the number of women on the committee is one more than the number of men on the committee. The committee could have as few as 1 member or as many as 23 members. Let N be the number of such committees that can be formed. Find the sum of the prime numbers that divide N.
PLEASE ANSWER ASAP!! THANK YOU!!!
plz read my description next time 🫡 my dumbass does not specialize in math. ik how to solve this one so i'll do just this once ;)
Tumblr media
So, in conclusion, the sum is 81.
Might want to double check if u know how to solve later, because I don't even trust myself 🤡💕
