someone I follow on the bird app just announced they're starting a very exclusive private fic server because they and a bunch of other people want to talk about how much they love the fics they're reading, and as an author can I just say that a really great place to talk about a fic you love is in the comments for that fic
I understand that people are trying to create safe spaces, but as the number of comments that I get on my fics dwindles with each passing year, knowing these spaces exist where my fics are being discussed, places that I am excluded from, makes me want to write fic LESS
I mean I guess who cares, right, because if I stop writing, there's 10,000 other people that will continue...but if you participate in a fic "book club" server and you say nice things there about a fic you loved, maybe copy and paste that into a comment on AO3?
the only thing fanfic writers are asking for in return for hours of hard work is attention. please don't rob us of the one thing that we hope for when we hit "post"

There are three prompts to choose from each day–you can pick just one, or combine them in whatever way makes sense to you! They're meant to be inspiring, rather than restrictive. Can't wait to see what you all come up with💖
Rules and guidelines for the event are below the cut, and as always, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
Rules & Guidelines
1. What's allowed? Pretty much anything! Artwork, fanfiction, gifsets, headcanons, analysis/meta, memes, etc. are all welcome, as long as they're your own work and are Korrasami-focused.
2. Explicit content is fine, but the characters need to be adults, and everything depicted MUST be consensual.
3. Please abide by Tumblr's guidelines about explicit content, otherwise there's a chance Tumblr might delete your submission! If you're not sure, you can always post your work to another site (AO3, twitter, etc.) and then link to it here. All explicit content posted and reblogged here will be tagged "nsft" so be sure to block that tag if you'd like to filter out such content!
4. No whitewashing, racism, misogyny, transphobia, ableism, or other bigotry of any kind. Content that explores these themes is ok, but they shouldn't go unchallenged in the piece, and they should be tagged with the appropriate warnings.
5. When submitting visual or audio media, please include a description either in ALT text or in the body of the post itself.
6. Other characters and relationships from The Legend of Korra are welcome, but your submission should be primarily about Korrasami.
7. Be kind. No criticism ("constructive" or otherwise) of other people's work unless the creator explicitly requests it. If you don't like something, just keep scrolling!
8. Follow the prompts if you can! They're meant to be helpful, but if you get inspired by something else entirely, please feel free to submit whatever you make!
9. Tag for content warnings if you think something might be triggering. Use your best judgment, but if you aren't sure whether a CW is needed, it doesn't hurt to ask!
10. Submit your fanwork either by mentioning @korrasamiweek2024 in the body of your post and using the #korrasamiweek2024 tag, or by submitting it directly to this blog. You can also add it to the Korrasami Week 2024 Collection on AO3. All submissions for each prompt will be reblogged or posted by the end of the day.
11. There's no such thing as a stupid question, so if you're unsure about something, feel free to ask!

So, I can't really participate in the 9-1-1 Gotcha 4 Gaza Event because it's a prompt based thing, and I'm a podficcer.
I want to contribute in some way though. So, I'll make the 9-1-1 and LS fandoms a personal offer of my own in case anyone would be interested.
I'll take on up to five projects for either fandom, on a first come, first served basis. All I'll need is proof of a Care For Gaza donation.
If there's a fic you'd like recorded - whether your own or someone else's, I'll record it for $2 per 1,000 words. If it's someone else's, they would need to give permission or have blanket permission.
My limit is 50k, but it's not a hard limit. You can talk to me if you have something longer.
I'm working on projects for multiple fests, so it may take some time to get them all done, but they will be done.
Basic restrictions for me are basically no character bashing, no MCD, no CSA or graphic SA, no incest, no kinks involving blood or urine, no infidelity, and no mpreg. If it's a ship involving Doug, Jonah, etc. It's also a no from me.
Idk if anyone will be interested, but if you are, shoot me a message! We'll work something out!
Please help me by reblogging this if you'd be so inclined! If I hit my 5 project limit, I will turn off reblogs.
Thank you all, and all my love! - Mist

Tonraq, doing his protective dad speech: now you listen up Asami, my daughter is an amazing girl, so if you're going to date her you need to treat her like a princess! She deserves the world
Asami: I totally agree. Which one?
Tonraq, confused: huh? What do you mean?
Asami: tell me which world she wants and I'll buy it for her
Tonraq: okay so that's not exactly what I-
Korra, excitedly: oh, I want Pluto!

I need everyone to know that the ship Götheborg, the world's largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship, answered a distress call the other day.
Imagine waiting for the coast guard or whatever to show up and instead a replica of 18th century merchant ship pulls up and tows you to the coast.
