Making yet more Sonic fankids! These be Dash and Nova from an AU where Sonic is a divorced single dad! Failed relationships galore in this AU!!

Bit of an info dump about them below the cut. Tho there's still a lot more that isn't mentioned coz I don't want this to get too long... You can ask them stuff if ya want! :)

Dash (actual name is David but no one really calls him that) is Sonic's first kid from a failed relationship with Amy. They got married too young and had a kid way before they were really ready. But where Sonic was able to adapt to being a parent, Amy wasn't able to.

Amy had stubbornly clung to her childhood crush and the dream of marrying the handsome hero, settling down with the white picket fence and the big family, but when she finally got everything she wanted instead of being happy she found herself feeling empty instead. She only realised that this wasn't actually the life she wanted for herself after she'd she'd given birth to Dash and by then it was too late. Things only got worse from there, in both her marriage and relationship with her son.

She and Sonic stayed together for a while but really only due to social conventions. Neither really wanted to stay together but they were just sorta stuck. One day Amy saw how much of an angry, hateful person she had become and just couldn't stand it anymore. So one day when Sonic was out, she just packed up and left, leaving divorce papers for him to sign and a note that said he could keep the house. At that point Sonic was so emotionally drained that he was honestly just kind of relieved it was over.

Dash doesn't have many memories of his mum, and the few he does have are not that great tbh. The clearest memory he has of her is the day she abandoned them. So yeah, he does not have a great relationship, and does not desire to have one, with Amy. Even after she and Sonic reunited and reconciled their friendship years later. He loves his dad tho and otherwise is having a pretty great childhood.

Nova was created by several GUN scientist that went rogue. They stole the confiscated genetic research done by Starline and combined it with what was left of Project Shadow to create a new living weapon for their own purposes. Fortunately they were discovered before they could finish their schemes, and they only specimen they managed to create was taken by Shadow.

He brought her to Tails and Sonic, mostly coz he didn't know what to do with her, and no longer trusted GUN security. And also the fact that she was made with Sonic's DNA too. Nova is constantly in a semi-super state, which is not good for her coz unlike her dads who when they run out of energy in super state would revert back to normal, she can't. So she taps into her own life force instead. Her inhibitor rings block most of her power and regulate her energy so that doesn't happen. Unlike Shadow's, they don't come off.

Nova might look like about 12-ish, but she's actually only about 4 years old. And she acts her age too. When she was first brought home she couldn't walk, talk or do much of anything really. Which of course made everyone very concerned about her development. Shadow had worried he'd been too hasty in pulling her out of her incubation tube. Sonic was the one to figure out that tho her body looked older she was, in fact, a literal baby and thus would need to learn how to do everything the same way a literal baby does. Good thing he already had experience raising one baby already.

Shadow moved in together with Sonic to help raise Nova. They got really close during this time, even tho they were constantly arguing over how to parent their tube baby. Shadow ended up being confronted with a few revelations about his "childhood" aboard the Ark as well as even more complicated feeling he had towards his creators. He found himself trying to push the same image of perfection onto Nova that had been placed on him, and being at odds with Sonic as a result. Over time he came to feel inadequate as a parent, especially given Sonic's methods tended to work better than his most of the time. After the first year he began to pull away and by the end of the second had moved back out entirely.

Nova was sad that Shadow isn't around as much anymore, tho she's a little too young to fully understand everything. For the most part she is a happy, healthy little girl who loves her daddy (and her other daddy too!) and her super awesome big brother!

Once again didn't really feel like colouring properly but tada anyways! Shadow, AKA Terios Acorn, the Ultimate Dad (bod) with his kids Sonya, Manik and baby Jasper (who finally has a name)! Estelle is not there mostly coz I haven't fully nailed her design yet...

After being forced into retirement from superhero work Shadow, Sonic and Sally had to make quite a lot of lifestyle changes. Shadow, and Sonic to a lesser extent, noticeably gained a bit of weight over the years as a result.

Has been mentioned before but Shadow doesn't actually need to eat as often, but nowadays he does so to appear more normal. He also tends to feel left out when the others are eating together and he's not. This has been the main reason for his weight gain. He would actually make himself sick a lot in the early years after retirement coz he was eating too much. These days Sonic serves him smaller portions or just gives him something to nibble on instead so he feels included.

Both Shadow and Sonic have high metabolisms due to the amounts of energy they burn off. Where Shadow could survive off of ambient Chaos Energy, Sonic had to eat a lot more just to keep up. Being unable to use his speed to burn off that excess energy has kinda thrown his whole diet out of whack.

Sally regularly goes to the gym, but mostly only as part of long term PT exercises she has to do coz of her cybernetics. At first the boys attempted to join her in a bid to get rid of some of that excess energy but they both had great difficulty holding back and trying to appear "normal". They also weren't really getting anything out of it because they were forced to hold back too.

Sonic is jealous of they way Sally bounced back after her pregnancies, while he's still got that soft pudginess in his chest, belly and hips. He's a little bit self-conscious of his weight since he used to be lithe and small, built for speed. And the fact that he was bullied a bit as a kid or being "fat" too. Shadow and Sally very much love how cute, pudgy and huggable their husband is. Tho where Sally tries to be supportive of Sonic's efforts to stay in shape, Shadow actively sabotages him by buying him treats all the time. Sonic also struggles a bit with self-control...

Idk if you take requests but could we see Sonic, Sally, and/or Shadow's powers in use?

Uuuh, I don't really take requests... am not very motivated to draw most of the time tbh. Tho I'll talk about my AUs if ya have any questions!

Figured I might try this one anyways, but couldn't really think of what to draw... Shadow and Sonic basically have the same abilities as normal so... And all the action pose refs I have saved up are for human body types which are kinda hard to translate to Mobians.

But I've been wanting to try drawing that one Archie comic cover with Sonally so here we are! (Didn't really feel like colouring but didn't want to leave it blank either, so the lazy version it is!)

Since the main inspiration for this AU is The Incredibles, I picture Sally's prosthetic limbs being quite flexible. So when she extends them they can bend and twist instead of being rigid like how Rusty Rose's limb were in Sonic Prime.

Also, there was a lot of empty space so I drew Sonic, Shadow and Sally's Superhero Logos too! Tho with Sonic he didn't really have a logo per say since his whole brand was just himself, hence the basic Sega logo for Sonic. Shadow has his emblem and Sally gets a gold star ring. When they get their new supersuits their logos were combined. Still testing out how it'll look but something more less like this with Sonic's blue as the main colour, red for the star and gold background.

Still don't know what their supersuits would even look like given Shadow and Sonic go about mostly nekkid. Hence why he hasn't got any special outfit here.

Redesigns for superkids Sonya and Manik Acorn! Am a bit lazy with glove and shoe designs, unless I have something specific in mind they tend to be kinda basic... Going to eventually redo Estelle's design and also gotta name the baby too. Eventually :P

Sonya got a new haircut! Wasn't really satisfied with it before. Wanted a more windswept look but for it to also be a bit spiky for the hedgehog side of her. She has a longer tail than her mum just to further differentiate them. Sonya didn't just get her dad's speed, she can also turn invisible! Unfortunately she is not all that stealthy in general, nor can she turn her clothes invisible too, and she can't maintain it while using her speed either. Tho the last one is more of a concentration thing. With practice she probably could use her powers together, but seeing as superheroes are illegal in this AU, she's not going to get a chance to do so any time soon...

Bath time was a bit of a challenge when she was younger. It's just as well she's not that stealthy, but even so, hunting down a super fast kid that can turn invisible is a bit of a challenge. Her parents soon learned that if they let go of her once she was nekkid, she'd be gone and they'd have to chase her down. Shadow had the most problems with Sonya and bath time. Many a night was spent chasing after a sopping wet invisible chipmunk girl before he finally got the hang of it...

Manik mostly just got fluffier! Plus a little folded over ear (don't know what that's called if there is a word for it). Still got the gap tooth and shorter messier quills. Like his sister he also got another power as well as super speed: gravity manipulation! Given that he hasn't had much of a chance to explore his full capabilities, he's a bit limited with what he can do right now. When he points at something and says "heavy" or "light" he can increase or decrease the gravity on that thing making it heavier or lighter. Once he stops concentrating on the object it goes back to normal tho. Like Sonya he can't really use his powers together as he tends to lose focus when he's moving too fast.

He doesn't actually need to speak when he uses his gravity powers, but it's an unintentionally trained habit from when his parents were teaching him to control it. Sonic had turned it into a game and Manik has unknowingly limited his own abilities by the rules of said game. Potentially he is a lot more powerful than he's aware, but since he hasn't had the chance to fully explore his abilities thing will remain as they are for now...

Thinking about Sonic Superhero AU so have some random SonShadSal headcanons! Number one being that when they married, Sonic and Shadow took Sally's last name.

Cooking in the Acorn household:

Sally cannot cook to save her life. Everything always ends up burned for some reason. She has genuinely tried to learn but after somehow managing to set a pot of boiling water on fire, well, she came to the conclusion her talents lie elsewhere. That and she's been banned from several cooking classes and kitchens...

Shadow can bake, but can't really cook. He has a warped sense of taste, potentially from being part alien, or perhaps from his childhood on the Ark being fed scientific pellets rather than actual food. He tends to have weird tastes in food and also doesn't really need to eat as often. He bakes coz he likes sweets, but also will eat straight coffee beans. His cakes, slices and cookies are great, but his meals are a strange combination of things that may or may not be edible...

Sonic is the designated cook. He makes his own chili dogs, the dude at least knows the basics of how to cook. Applying that knowledge to other dishes is not that hard. As much as he would have liked to have chili dogs every night, he got outvoted. They still have them once a week tho. Everyone s always surprised that Sonic is the one making breakfast/lunch/dinner, and that it's not chili dogs all single time! "Hey! I know how to cook other things!"

Sonic makes these cute lunches for both the kids and his spouses. Shadow's, or as they know him, Terry's coworkers are really jealous of his cute lunches.

Terry's coworkers are also slightly terrified of him, partly coz of his resting bitch face, but mostly coz of the case of the lunch thief. Everybody more or less knew who the culprit was, but nothing was being done about it, until he made the terrible mistake of stealing Terry's lunch that is. Nobody knows what actually happened, but some people swear they saw Terry dangling this guy by his ankles over the roof of the 20 story high building. Others claim to have seen him force the culprit to throw up everything he ate. Whatever the case, he confessed to his crimes and then left the office altogether, never to be seen or heard from again. There has not been a case of lunch stealing in the office since then, and nobody ever dares mess with Terry's lunch...

Does Bunnie exist in the superhero-au?

Ah! Sorry! I meant to answer this forever ago but totally forgot about it!

Yeah Bunnie exist, as do the rest of the Archie crew. Am thinking the Freedom Fighters are like the Justice League or Avengers of this universe. Ironically the original members of this superhero team didn't have any superpowers. Unless you're counting Bunnie's cybernetics that is. Tho later on Rotor gets that power suit he had during the Mecha Sally story arc, and Antoine obtains a magic sword.

They started off as a bunch of vigilante teens, inspired by the heroics of Sonic the Hedgehog, looking to make a difference in their world. Eventually they became more organised, gained more recognition, and grew in numbers to the point of having multiple teams around the world (like the Arctic and Downunda Freedom Fighter groups). Sonic was also a member, tho he was often off doing his own thing.

But it all started with Sally in a homemade costume, aided by her friends Rotor and Antoine, plus a prototype AI invented by father's company. Bunnie joined a little later, having been involved with an evil techno cult/organisation that made her into a cyborg against her will. Sally and the guys wanted to help Bunnie take the organisation down, quickly realising they were in over their heads but also that they were the only ones actually doing anything about them. Fighting these guys was what really kicked off their superhero careers.

Bunnie was also a rock for Sally to lean on after her accident that resulting in gaining her own cybernetics. She helped her through a lot of difficult days then. Now that superheroes have been made illegal, Bunnie settled down with Antoine (always thought that ship was cute) in a quite little town and opened a hair salon. These two were already thinking about retirement right before everything went down anyways, tho they wish it hadn't happened the way it did... The old gang doesn't see a lot of each other, but they all try to stay in touch and get together at least once a year or so to catch up.

Redesigned Sonadow fankids I made way back when. Also officially settled on their names! Meant to post this ages ago but never got round to finishing it up til now... :P

Aria got the least amount of changes, mostly just a bit of a glow up. Tho I will note that she does have a noticeably longer tail than her siblings. She is very aware of it, being very self-conscious of all the ways she is different from her siblings and all...

Gale got a name change and a new outfit! Initially thought of her being very pink and cutesy, but I think the yellow suits her more. She's very sensitive to texture and especially doesn't like the feeling of clothes against her chest fluff. It was a mission just to get her to wear clothes at all when she was younger. She's still a bit salty that her brother can go around with just gloves and shoes on but she can't.

Zephyr got the most changes me thinks, both in the way his head quills are styled and his coat patterns. His style is largely the same tho. Based on looks alone he comes across as a lot cooler than he actually is. The moment he starts talking tho you can instantly tell how much of a dork he really is. He's also a bit too much of a boy scout and scaredy-cat, so the aloof, chill image he's trying to go for tends to fall apart very quickly.

Designs for Sonic Prime Boscage Maze versions of Sonic and Shadow! (Once again can't be bothered fully shading these...)

So as said in the previous post Dr Nightshade is a scientist studying the mutated mega jungle in hopes of restoring the world back to how it used to be. Sunny is his assistant. Both of them are cyborgs.

With Nightshade his cybernetics are a lot more subtle, being genetically engineered in combination with his implants made the integration of technology and organic parts much more seamless. Tried to make a sorta circuit board pattern on his limbs instead of his usual stripes, but not sure how well that's working out tho. He usually wears clothes, mostly due to having been raised by humans and their sensibilities around clothing. Tho he often forgoes shirts altogether as he doesn't like the way they feel against his chest fluff.

Nightshade is largely a hermit and a shut in, preferring to stay as far away from other people as possible. He never really formed many relationships outside of Maria, and once she was gone he began to distance himself from people more and more. Sunny was recommended to him by a respected colleague, and managed to worm his way into his lab and his life out of sheer stubbornness and a overly positive attitude.

When Sunny was revived from stasis, he found the world to be a very different place. He has no idea, nor any feasible way of finding out if his friends and family survived like he did, if they were also put in stasis or if they haven't already been woken up. Still he managed to find purpose in this strange new world, and carve out something of a home for himself in the form of Dr Nightshade and their robot assistants too!

Sunny performs most of the field work, the doctor insisting he wear a protective suit whenever he goes out. (Which unintentionally makes him look as tho he is fully robotic.) And tho his cybernetics might be more obvious (maybe a bit too chunky? I dunno) they perform almost exactly the same as his real limbs did, so he can still move at super sonic speeds. Sunny had been studying botany before the apocalypse, and having grown up in a concrete jungle with virtually no natural green to speak of, well, being surrounded by trees and plants of all different kinds is very exciting for him. Cybernetics were also extremely common pre-apocalypse, so meeting those without any is also something of a novelty for him too.

Sonic Prime AU time! (coz this has been everywhere in the last month or so.) Basically just some ideas I had for shatterverse versions of Sonic and Shadow, set after the end of the series.

New Yoke City: Based on the idea in SA2 where it's kinda implied Sonic was also made on the Ark like Shadow (which is never brought up again). Basically Nine stumbles across a pod that contains the New Yoke version of Sonic (Spirit) and excitedly wakes him up. However he quickly finds that this is not the Sonic he met before; Spirit has never been out of his bio-tank thingy before, he is basically a newborn in a full grown body, with the mentality of a newborn too. Spirit is a wide-eyed innocent child, sweet, kind and trusting, a stark contrast to the world around him and the people in it. Nine is having a hard time adjusting, especially since Spirit's keeps chewing on all his power cables. He is also constantly being accused of having cloned Sonic. Which he totally did not! He found this Sonic fair and square thank you very much!

Meanwhile, having lost their power source, the Chaos Council has lost a lot of ground to the resistance. In searching for new power sources and weapons, they discover Project Umbra (three guess who this is). Umbra leans a little more into his alien side than Shadow does, he is also less of an angsty teen and more of a scared, grieving child lashing out at a world that hurt him. He agrees to work for the council only due to the distant family connection, but he doesn't particularly like them or care about their goals. He just wants to see the world burn. Of course, things change when he finds out his baby brother survives the raid on the Ark. Tho he is not particularly happy about this strange fox hanging around, acting all buddy buddy with Umbra's brother. Ugh, the nerve of that guy!

Boscage Maze: Got inspiration from movies like Nausicaa and Origin: Spirits of the Past. So the instead of the prism, the massive jungle was actually caused by a bio-experiment gone wrong which set off an apocalypse. There are effectively three groups of survivors, those that escaped into space (mainly GUN people), those that survived on the surface (whose descendants became groups like the scavengers) that live more or less in harmony with the jungle, and those that made it into underground shelters and were put into stasis chambers where they have slept for several hundred years. The latter two group are often at odds with each other, one wanting their old world back, the other wanting the jungle to stay as is. Dr Nightshade Robotnik and his assistant, Sunny, are among the stasis group.

In this universe Gerald went down the road of cybernetics as well as genetic engineering when creating his Ultimate Lifeform, Nightshade. Their Maria got to live her life to it's fullest, becoming a scientist like her grandfather. Nightshade also dedicated his life to science, wanting to follow Maria's dreams of making the world a better place, even after she passed away. Sunny benefited from their research, as it's thanks to their work into cybernetics that he is able to walk (and run) again. Upon waking in the post-apocalyptic world, Dr Nightshade has made it his mission to find out what caused the plants to grow out of control and hopefully reverse the effects. Sunny, someone who sees the benefits of both the old and new world, hopes that he can help the good Doctor find balance between the natural and mechanized worlds. Meanwhile GUN is up to something rather suspicious up there in space...

No Place Sea: Yay pirate AU!! Honestly didn't have a lot of ideas beyond just pirates tho... Shadow is Captain Blackheart and is like super duper cursed. He is captain of a ghost ship, whose crew is also super cursed and/or undead. All save a single member, his navigator Tempest (Sonic), who is immune to the effects curses due to him being half siren. Tempest does not speak much as his voice is imbued with the charming power of a siren, which he lacks much control over. He has a knack for reading the winds and currents making him an ideal navigator in treacherous waters. He is both drawn to and fears the water, as something in those dark depths keeps calling to him, eager to drag him down down down into darkness... However he can't bring himself to stay away despite the danger, and luckily whatever is hunting him seems to steer clear of the ghost ship. In exchange for shelter aboard his ship, Tempest is helping Blackheart track down and decode ancient sea charts that will lead them to a great treasure he's been hunting. One said to be able to grant wishes: the chaos emeralds!

Wanted to draw something Christmasy so looked up some of those squad bases and ych things for ideas and saw this one. Immediately thought of Sonic Sally and Shadow from the Incredibles Sonic Superhero AU, so here we are! Wanted to sketch out Sonic/Nicky and Shadow/Terios for this AU too.

Not really happy with Shadow's proportions... or his hands... hands suck. Hoped putting him in a dumpy sweater would help that but it didn't. Couldn't figure out how to fix it tho and am tired after changing it so many times so...

He also looks a little weird without his stripes. Added a bit of red in there showing through the dye. He's a bit of a Christmas Scrooge in this AU; he puts up with it for the kids but is always grumpy about the whole thing. (His favourite holiday is Halloween, tho he'll never admit it.)

I don't' know if it's coz I've been drawing her a lot lately, but Sally turned out the best here, and was so much more cooperative than the boys! Didn't put a Christmas sweater on Sonic (or rather Nicky I guess) is coz he'd definitely wear one of those obnoxiously festive ones with all the patterns and colours, and frankly I'm way too lazy to draw, colour and shade all that! So, he be all wrapped up in tinsel instead :)

Still gotta work on that family portrait. Thought of some design changes for the kids already. Thinking about a supersuit version too...

Ugh, I look at this and feel like it needs to be shaded to be finished, but boy do I really, really, reeeeeaally not want to! T_T

But anyways here's some designs for Sonic, Sally and Shadow's kids from the Incredibles Superhero AU. No supersuits yet, just normal outfits for now. Planned on doing a family portrait but thats seven characters, plus still am not fully sold on some of the designs for the kids yet. Gonna be working on that next tho.

So! About the kids! First off is the eldest, Estelle. Inspiration for her character comes from Incredibles Violet Parr and Lara-su from the light Mobius storyline. Biologically she is Sonic and Shadow's (don't think I've ever mentioned before but lets headcanon that there's a portion of the Mobian population that can have kids regardless of gender; Sally and Sonic are both like that). Might change around the colours in her quills, but she also used to dye them black like Shadow, but am thinking she started experimenting with colours when she hit her teens. Growing up she was always closer with Sally, but is secretly a daddy's girl too. As for powers she is able to wield chaos energy like Shadow, more in the form of energy blasts and force fields. Estelle struggles with wanting to be "normal" but also deep down thinks her powers are really cool.

On to the twins, Sonya and Manik (also inspired by Light Mobius storyline)! Biologically Sally and Sonic's, and technically not actually twins but are often treated as such given how they both got pregnant at roughly the same time. Sally carried Manik and Sonic carried Sonya, who is about a month older than her brother, a fact she lords over him every chance she gets. I wanted Sonya's hair to have a spikey look to show some of that hedgehog in her. I like Manik's gap tooth, and the shorter, messier spikes, gave him. Wanted to give him bangs to, but nothing really fit so far. Am thinking they both got superspeed but also developed secondary powers too. Still debated what those would be tho. They also both have traces of nanites in their blood from Sally. These two are always up to mischief, and have way to much energy with no proper outlet for it all. They also tend to cling to each other and have difficulty making friends separately.

And lastly there's the baby who I am struggling to come up with a name for! (Why must names be so hard!?) He is biologically Sally and Shadow's. Sonic is the primary caregiver as it was decided that Sally would go back to work once her maternity leave was up. And at first glance it appears that Sonic is the favourite parent, but he is well aware that the real favourite is Nicole. At the start of the story does not have any powers, but just like Jack Jack, we all know that's going to change... ;)

Finally finished this! Some design ideas for Sally in the Incredibles inspired Superhero AU! (Plus a little bonus Nicole!) Still haven't figured out what her Superhero name might be, but she's got a logo now!

I wanted her to have a different style between her hero persona and regular self. I went with green for her everyday outfit coz of that Princess Jasmin looking outfit child Sally wore a couple of times. Went with a homemade kinda vibe for the first supersuit. Trying to emphasis her youth in the first two designs as she started her Superhero career fairly young.

I looked at a lotta Mecha Sally and Bunnie stuff for her cyborg design. Ended up with something a lot simpler. Honestly, just ran out of steam after doing her hands. Her outfit there leans more into the classic superhero outfits you see in comics. As you can see she's already made the wise decision to ditch the cape.

I kinda like long-haired Sally for her current look. It kinda goes with her outfit. After superheroes were forced into hiding, Sally lost quite a lot of her spirit. She put a lot of effort into advocating superhero rights, and arguing against such changes, but ultimately they lost that battle. It felt like a betrayal, that everything she'd sacrificed, that all the good she and her friends had done all these years meant nothing. Now she's been forced to give up a whole other side to herself, stuck in a job she never wanted, and constantly worried about keeping her super-powered family safe. And though she shares a lot of Shadow's feelings and resentment towards the state of thing, she no longer as the will to fight back...

What would Sally's powers be like with her cybernetics/Nicole integrated into her?

So distracted lately, took a while to get to this. But anyways!

Sally's body was very badly damaged in the accident. To save her life she was injected with experimental nanomachines, which artificially reconstructed the damaged tissue, organs, etc. Her limbs had to be replaced with prosthetics, which the nanites seamlessly integrated into her nervous system. Her limbs are the only parts that look obviously robotic.

Given that it was new, highly experimental, and largely unknown technology, no one was really sure if it would even work, or what the long term effects would be. Nicole was essentially used as a fail safe; she's there to directly control and manage the nanites. At the time Nicole was not yet self aware. It was the combination of being connected to experimental tech, alongside being hooked directly into Sally's brain, among other things, that would lead to Nicole gaining sentience. It was not a sudden thing either.

As for powers/abilities, she already had those energy blade rings which were integrated into her new arms. Naturally as a cyborg she's stronger and faster than before, and her limbs can extend a fair distance too. She also has rocket boots so is capable of short-term flight. She can't quite match Sonic's speeds, but she can keep up fairly well.

Before the accident, Nicole resided in her handheld, and more or less had the same role she had in the cartoon. Connected to Sally the way she is now means Nicole is able to share data directly into her head. Sally basically has a HUD built in. In a way Nicole is kinda like Ironman's AI assistant, except if it was directly in his head. She is still able to connect to her old handheld and other devices, and can project a holographic form, but her main body (I guess you could call it?) resides in Sally now.

Yet another Sonic AU idea, coz I can never focus on a single one for very long! Also, was rewatching the Incredibles movies and had thoughts(tm)!

So! An AU set in a world kinda like the Incredibles wherein Sonic and the other hero characters were like proper Superheroes, but then were forced to retire and go into hiding when laws were passed that made superheroes illegal.

Sonic is in a committed relationship with Sally and Shadow, the three of them being former Supers now trying their best to live as a "normal" family with their four kids. All of which have powers, except for the baby.

Sally was one of the few Superheroes without any powers. A lot of people forget that about her, partly coz she later gained cybernetics after a terrible accident (ironically unrelated to her hero work) that took her limbs nearly took her life too. Still thinking abut her hero name but she spent many years struggling to balance her superhero career with her civilian life. She has a lot of complicated feelings about it all now that she's been forced to give up one side of her life. These days she reluctantly works at her father's company, trying very hard not to draw any attention to herself, or her family.

(Nicole is also here, integrated into Sally's cybernetics. She's quite literally in Sally's head, which kinda makes them a package deal. Her bond with Sally is incredibly strong, tho neither see it as romantic, same goes for Sonic and Shadow. They all consider her as part of the family, and the unofficial fourth parent.)

Sonic and Shadow didn't really have secret identities. Shadow had to invent an identity, going by Terios while dyeing the red parts of his fur and quills black to blend in better. He now works a boring desk job and also tends to wears grey sweaters or plain button down shirts. Shadow is very dissatisfied with his life. He's supposed to be the Ultimate Lifeform! He was meant to protect the world! He made a promise! And now he's just Terry, a boring guy working a mind-numbingly dull office job, barely able to protect his own family much less anybody else. (Yeah, Shadow be Mr Incredible here.)

Now Sonic, he pretty much lived as his superhero identity full time, so very few people actually knew he even had a secret identity. See Sonic used to be Nicky (like from the manga), a quiet, timid kid with freaky powers that always got picked on. One day he ran away from the orphanage he lived in, changed his hair, changed his whole look, changed his attitude, and started calling himself "Sonic". Becoming a superhero was never the intention, but after his first run in with Eggman, well, it all just snowballed from there.

Sonic had the hardest time adjusting to the new status quo in the beginning, having always thought he'd just be Sonic forever, even if he ever got the chance to retire from the hero life. He's had part time jobs, but was never able to hold one for very long. His lack of formal education makes things a little harder on that front too. These days he's settled down as a househusband, being the primary caretaker for their children. He loves his kids and wants to give them all the things he never got to have growing up, like loving parents and a stable home. It would be a lie to say he didn't miss his old life, but if was a choice between that and the life he has with his family, he'd pick his family every time.

I feel like Infinite would fit the role of Syndrome here. With Gadget (that's what the custom avatar is called right?) as Mirage.

Thinking maybe Knuckles and Julie-su would be Frozone and his wife?

Can't really decide who would be Edna. Maybe Rouge?? She kinda has the style for it... There's also Honey the Cat who is a designer I think? Dunno if she fits the Edna Mode vibe tho...

I've been soo tired lately... Took several tries to actually get this started, tho once I did I actually smashed it out fairly quickly. Do not have the energy to properly shade it tho... Anyways, here be Sonadow fankids from Royalty Arranged Marriage AU that needs a better name!

As mentioned before Tempo and Harmony are twins but due to complications, Harmony was believed to died shortly after birth. In reality she was stolen by Lien-Da and raised by her in secret.

Lien-Da gained a lot of power under King Shadow's rule, however, things have been steadily changing ever since he married the Prince Consort, Sonic. She deeply dislikes the changes Sonic has brought, believing he's caused Shadow to grow soft. Not to mention the fact she has been steadily losing influence ever since he arrived.

Stealing the princess was not planned per say, merely an opportunity she seized. She then raised her to be a living weapon whose sole purpose was to bring order to the world. "Order" according to her foster mother and master that is...

Tempo on the other hand was raised a prince. Sonic became very protective of his remaining child, and may have spoiled him quite a bit too. His relationship with Shadow is, well, let's just say it's complicated for now... He's a good kid even so, with a friendly outgoing (if not somewhat arrogant) personality, and is quite popular among his people. He knew he had a sister once, but grew up believing her long dead just like everybody else. The lost princess, however, is very much aware of her brother. She cannot help but feel envious of all he has...

Tempo mostly takes after Sonic in terms of powers, while Harmony has abilities more like Shadow. Her inhibitor rings are another method of controlling her, she doesn't actually need them (not that she knows this). She also styles her quills down in an attempt to better fit in with the rest of the echidnas in the Dark Legion. Tempo usually only dresses up for formal occasions and such. He rarely even wears his crown outside of public events.
