soon to be deputy prime minister and current minster for regulation David Seymour hopes to remove “woke foods” from New Zealand’s school lunch program, including sushi and avocado.

recently, our soon to be deputy prime minister and leader of the act party (one of the three current ruling parties along with New Zealand first and National whom they are in coalition with) David Seymour published a statement regarding New Zealand’s school lunch program. He said he would do more for less, as well as saying he would be bringing things back to basics in regards to the menu, no longer will “woke” foods (namely sushi and quinoa) be on offer for high schoolers, instead being replaced by sandwiches and fruit. After being pressed by journalists Seymour produced a definitive list of woke and not woke, a list that the spin-off has graciously compiled for your reading pleasure. While reading keep in mind that this man is a self proclaimed “libertarian”

this charming little fella is the New Zealand red-billed gull, Chroicocephalus novaehollandiae scopulinus, or tarāpunga. The red-billed gull is a smaller subspecies of the Australian silver gull although they were once considered separate species. The red-billed gull is native to New Zealand and its surrounding islands and of the three gull species found in New Zealand, it is by far the most common. While the gull is prolific (as any kiwi who has opened a parcel of fish and chips on any beach can easily tell you) their population has actually been in decline since the 60s, they are currently considered at risk. Not helping matters is the fact that their three major colonies (Three Kings Islands, Mokohinau Islands and Kaikoura Peninsula) have been hit hard in recent years by invasives like possums, stoats, feral cats and rats. They don't need much in the way of conservation, the red-billed gull doesn't have any special requirements, they only need what every other bird in New Zealand needs, we have to continue to fight invasives and mammalian predators. Something as simple as setting up rat traps around your garden or keeping your cat indoors can help save the lives of countless natives as well as these wonderful birds. Keep our country beautiful by taking action today!

I'm no photographer but this photo has to be one of my favourite things on my phone. It's just soooo pretty, it looks edited like the saturation has been cranked up to eleven, but the day was just like that I guess. I really like how green the sea is, I have this printed out as a Polaroid as well and it looks even better in that format.
