My main male OC, Carver.

I love characters that are in need of redemption, and Carver is no exception. He is an ex-convict, who was a petty thief almost all his life. Despite being a Freedom Fighter now, he tends to keep to himself, as he deals with a lot of prejudice. He has a mark cut into his left shoulder, that identifies his cell block, which was reserved for murderers.

Of course, hardly anyone gives him the chance to explain. Despite being a petty thief for the most part and being in and out of jail for his offenses, he was eventually convicted of the murder of his brother-in-law, whom routinely abused his sister and his nephew. His brother-in-law finally went too far, beating Carver's sister to death and before he could harm her child, Carver strangled him in turn.

Despite the circumstances, Carver was sentenced to life imprisonment, and he never saw his nephew again, who disappeared within the foster care system. When the Plutarkians invaded, they shut down all the prisons and moved the prisoners directly to the labor camps and rock quarries. Carver was able to escape, and joined the Freedom Fighters, thinking it would give him the best network to find out whether his little nephew had survived the war, and hopefully, find him.

Carver comes from a rough background, but his obsession with locating his dead sister's son and raising him completely changes the life he leads. As time goes on, it becomes obvious that there is a truly good person underneath his weathered exterior.

Old art I kinda hate now. I have terrible color theory and I really struggled with how to finish this image. Some things I still like. Maybe I’ll revisit someday. The following text was written when it was originally uploaded in 2017 ( originally drawn in 2012 ):

I can't look at this piece anymore. I originally drew it in 2012 over 5 years ago, and every year since I have been tweaking it and playing with it since because I thought it had potential but I could never quite get it right. So I think it's time to finally move on and just upload the point it has been completed to now.

This originally started out as an idea about insecurities, and I wanted to display characters that were outwardly tough and confident at their most vulnerable- 'unmasked' if you will. But it also addresses love and loss, personal conflict, and holding on to pasts and moving forward and letting go. Just about every person who has seen this already has come up with their own very unique, interesting interpretation of this piece and I thoroughly enjoy that and welcome it.

What does this piece mean to you? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Gotta be honest, I still kinda like this scribble I did 5ish years ago of Stoker out-drinking me.

This was originally a sticky note doodle I drew a couple of years ago after another particularly stressful day at work back when I was still working as a Sales Manager ( Being a Sales Manager will do that to you. Never be a Sales Manager if you value your sanity ). I never finished it, I left said horrendous job, and unfinished drawing went back into the bowels of my "unfinished" pile.

Fast forward to today at my current job, and a particularly stressful day at said jerb, and I thought, "this is the work day that will make me get smashed and finish that one drawing..." So here we are.

I have a feeling General Stoker would make a great drinking buddy. What were the Producers thinking casting Peter Strauss as his voice actor? Like, I can handle Peter Strauss voicing only so many charming military rodents.

I still gotta be up in a few hours to go in to work on a Saturday because I'm so slammed with work. So lazy scribble with lazy coloring and lazy people brushes chilling in the background

I love these two dorks so much and the worst thing about the 2006 series ( among many things ) was that these two couldn’t be depicted in a romance anymore.

Some ooooooolllllld Apritello art I did almost 10 years ago now that was made into keychains. I might update it a little and make it into stickers.

Apritello was never really my jam. I was an 80s kid so I was always team Capril because of the original live-action film originally. If she was ever gonna end up in a turtle-ship, I was always more inclined towards Raphril.

I’ve been seeing more and more people come out lately and talk about how cringe 2012 Apritello was. And let’s be real, adults really wrote a teenage crush all kinds of weird and creepy and the mistake was on the part of the show’s writers. The idea of the ship as a whole there is absolutely nothing wrong with! It was just executed poorly.

But to you Apritello lovers out there, I see you, I get you! Keep loving what you love and use your own head canons and newer iteration canons to ‘fix’ the parts that the studio writers made problematic. Your ship is valid 💪

Old, but gold?

Done in 2013. Good lord that’s 10 years ago now. Here’s the original blurb that accompanied it:

A deck of cards, a few drinks, and a really bad idea that was obviously 'Vinnie' in origin.

I thought it would be funny to have a strip poker situation where the only female playing is the only one fully dressed, while it's the men who have had their pants ( literally ) beat off of them.

I'm pretty happy with the anatomy in this- Throttle and Vinnie in particular turned out really well ( though they are mostly hidden by Charley, they are on their own seprate layers so they are complete figures ) and for some reason, Modo's pose caused me the most difficulty. And omigod, once again, ALL THE DAMN FEET. I hate drawing feet almost as much as Rob Liefeld, but I force myself to do it and I need the practice on them -_-

Also got some foreshortening in there, like on Throttle's hand and Modo's foot, and I needed practice in those areas too so I'm glad it's getting a little easier as I go.

I would have done more for the background but my laptop overheated and crashed FIVE TIMES while coloring this and by the end of the night I was feeling very much ready to be done due to my frustration ( and my iPhone crashed 4 times as well while. What the hell, was there a gremlin loose in my house somewhere?)

Also, thanks again to the every enduring Shamon Cornell who put up with me consistently texting him progress sketches of naked mouse-men for feedback XD ( anyone else want to sign up for that task? lol )

Anyway, enjoy the eye candy.

( also, I hope this doesn't appear too dark on other people's monitors. I need to calibrate my monitor among other things like tossing this laptop in the trash anyway ).
