Sedlec Ossuary

I am a chapel made of bones and an echoing heartbeat,

Ghosts and shadows sit in silence,

In the cathedral of my chest. 

A spirit at an organ plays a melancholy note

Over and over again,

In a tune I wish would stop.

It gets faster, sometimes,

When it sees you.

It howls in the Sedlec Ossuary of my heart,

 A temple of bone and soul.

You are a ghost in my religion,

Drifting through our familiar schedule

Like my hopeless spirit.
