I have a few worrying health issues going on, but i have to keep my fear to myself
The mere act of expressing fear is an entitled demand on those around me for emotional labor no one has the capacity to give.
I need to be brave because I'm always the one holding us together. I need to be brave so everyone else can lean on me when they're scared.
I was trained to ignore and repress my own fear because it was too much work to soothe me.
I'm so afraid, all the time, but no one knows and no one cares.

I want to ramble to someone about hedonic tone but I can't.
There's nothing worse than desperately wanting to infodump about something cool you've been reading about, but having no one who can share your enthusiasm.
The topic is unfortunately a conversation-killer on two fronts. First. it's related to science and is thus uninteresting to many people. Second, someone would need a fairly in-depth understanding of neurology, psychology, psychiatry, and biochemistry to understand what I want to ramble about.
The people I live with do not want to hear about my weird science interests and couldn't follow along if they wanted to. I have 2-3 people who would absolutely let me ramble forever, but wouldn't be able to follow along and understand what is SO COOL about what I'm saying.
I mostly don't miss the friends I made in grad school, because I've seen what kind of people a lot of them ended up being, but sometimes I do miss talking science.
