Has anyone ever talked about how the term "Fire Lord" is gender neutral? Because as far as I know, it is.
Azula called herself Fire Lord when Ozai announced his ascension to Phoenix King so I'm guessing the gender of the Fire Nation's leader doesn't matter. Izumi, Zuko's daughter, is referred to as Fire Lord. No matter the gender the title will always be Fire Lord.
So. A Fire Lord's wife is known as the Fire Lady. My question now is, if the term Fire Lord is gender neutral, is Fire Lady as well?
Can I have a female Fire Lord with her husband who's the Fire Lady? Or a gay couple with one being the Fire Lord, ruler of the nation, and the other the Fire Lady, the husband?
Because I think that's how it should work. I want both titles to be gender neutral and for Fire Lady to really just be what the spouse of the current ruler is called.
I'd like to have this confirmed, but considering that the only female Fire Lord we've seen on screen has been Izumi and the title of General Iroh's father hasn't been revealed I can only guess.
Canon to me

Attention Western LMK fans: This is a public service announcement
when someone says “immortal” in the context of Chinese mythology they do NOT mean “can’t die”. They mean “can live forever”
Think of a mortals lifespan as a candle and an immortals lifespan as an infinitely long candle. The immortal candle can burn forever but it someone blows it out it still goes out. Now some immortal candles are inside a building so they don’t get hit by wind or rain and others are on a patio protected only from rain. It’s different depending on how powerful they are and how many immortalities are stacked
Sun Wukong is an infinitely long trick birthday candle that can blow out in theory but no one’s been strong enough to test that theory
hope this helps clear things up

Preaching!
Somehow the fandom manages to villainies the characters that don't have to be villains or antagonists.
And I'm gonna guess that most of these people have never even considered reading jttw or bothered to learn more about the characters. Because if they did Tripitaka wouldn't be the bad guy, Erlang - a character who isn't even IN the show yet - wouldn't be a bad guy.
People like Azure and Macaque wouldn't be treated like innocent little uwu's and wukong wouldn't constantly have his past shoved in his face as if the 2000 page book this show is based on wasn't his whole fucking redemption arc to beginn with.
It's okay to have opinions on characters, but at least remember who the character ACTUALLY is and why they are the way they are. I am not a fan of macaque and I don't care about Tripitaka, but they are both good characters in their own right and I can understand why people like them. And that's the gist of it.
just to vent a little, I don't like the fact that Erlang is hated so much and Macaque is too victimized in lmktwt. I feel like people see him as the worst but they omit what Macaque does in the book as in the show. Macaque never apologizes to any of the characters. Of course he treats MK better but he never apologizes to Tang or Mei for what he did. His character is never developed further in the book. Instead, they tell you Erlang's past, what he had to go through, which gives you enough basis or ideas why he acts like that. His father and older brother are sent to kill by his own uncle, with him and his sister being the only ones who survive. He then tries to save his mother only for his attempts to be in vain and she is also killed. But people don't know or ignore that part of his story. He is a complex character.
I swear, if the writers put him as a villain it will make this problem much worse.
^^^^^^
They hate the wrong people. Tripitaka is too a victim of this, and while yes, I don't particularly enjoy both of the characters attitude I don't hate them, or think of them as bad guys, they are all so complex characters that should be appreciated more.
they antagonize sun wukong way too much, especially in a show where he's literally..a hero? Like, he's got big flaws because of trauma, but it's not okay apparently and he's a villain, but if mk does the same, or macaque does the same or worse, they are immediately forgiven.
Same goes for literally everyone, they baby mk and macaque too much.
Also I hate macaque but it's known anyway

At what point was the fillet taken off wukong? Because it wasn't after the journey but it also wasn't during the journey...hear me out.
He doesn't have it on when they sealed the samadhi fire and then in Amnesia Rules his memories go back to AFTER they sealed it. But he also comments how they're still on their way to India??
Then the thing with the Brotherhood. Canonically, the samadhi fire incident happened waaaay before the gang met Azure, Peng and yellow tusk. But in Azures flashback wukong is wearing the fillet...and while I'm pretty sceptical when it comes to flashbacks in this show I don't think this one was misleading
So yeah, either it's the timeline or...idk

Seeing as s5 is coming closer and closer and is probably right around the corner with the new set dropping here are my predictions:
- trauma getting dumped on mk, this time worse than ever
- maybe a villain arc, tho I'm hoping that doesn't happen
(if it does I'm craving those "The Hero and The Warrior" parallels with Mei)
- since we're dealing with the underworld I'm holding onto hope for mac'n'cheese angst
- and wukong angst related to the macaroni angst
- finally finding out what happened between the monkeys bc they can't just give us an underworld season without focusing on the one guys backstory in the underworld
- while we're at it I'm hoping for JTTW lore bc the story is different in lmk and I wanna know more
- more red son, pretty please
- more nezha, pretty please but with a cherry on top
- ao lie would be cool too, considering he might actually be vibing somewhere on the map (definitely not just saying that bc i love him) (he's not gonna show up but let me Dream T-T)
- idk I guess finding out who the new Emperor is would be nice?
(long shot but an introduction of Erlang Shen maybe??)
- subodhi bc i love him and need more of the old man sass

Forever laughing at the fact that Sun Wukong named himself The Handsome Monkey King when everyone in the book won't shut up about how hideous he is.

Yeah he said in the s4 special that the pilgrims are the one who helped wukong onto the right path and claimed that the brotherhood (him included) were on a path of self destruction, meaning he probably knew that all of them weren't exactly helping each other
I'm glad the fandom has realized that Wukong doesn't hate the pilgrims but when is everyone gonna get that macaque doesn't either? He admits that they were good for wukong and helped him where he couldn't

Sun Wukong is everywhere.
I was watching a fucking romcom and there in the background he was. A picture of a face that was very much a monkey...with a golden circlet on.
Why...?

That might be it
Like, I don't mind having dyslexic wukong but he obv is able to read and write and he's also able to work technology considering he has a computer which he uses to communicate with his lawyer... sometimes it feels like ppl just wanna make him look like he's still living in thee olden days when he's actually pretty well adjusted to modern society
Me resisting the urge to explode when the 17109301020th person made the joke of sun wukong not being able to read (it was shown in the show multiple times he could read and write, and in the original book he literally went to school and writes poems. He simply was too shy to read out loud.)

I think they're saying that bc in Destiny Fulfilled he spelled "dead" wrong...but in season 2 he literally wrote mk a letter so
