hey why are ice types so rare. ice is fuckin everywhere dude. i should be up to my armpits in ice types. i should be able to open my freezer and see a dozen mons scurrying about. do u think theyre hiding. are they in arontica
to put it short, they tend to be pretty bad at surviving outside of extremely specific environments. they have a Lot of predators that end up outcompeting them because of their fairly common supereffective damage types. they also tend to not hold up very well under seasonal change and find it difficult to migrate somewhere colder in their off-seasons

creampuff’s evolution went better than expected but it took a HELL of a lot longer than predicted. moral of the cautionary tale: do NOT everstone a pupal stage pokemon. she’s a bit of a runt of a salamence because her growth cycle was thrown off schedule, but she should continue growing even after she’s evolved so we’ll see how that turns out. she’s currently on a medication to help regulate her growth hormones but there won’t be any definite results for a long while. since. you know. she’s a dragon
and yes, she’s happy and healthy right now

I might steal this for my evil Pokemon team.
You have the option to dress up in outfits from the Evil Team and now I just want the character to sneak in and just see a whole ass drama 😂
its funny to me when a cartoon or something has a vague Evil Organization because a lot of fans will instantly decide that there's a whole workplace comedy happening there. those guys can't just be vaguely standing around acting evil all day they've gotta have like an evil break room or something

On Master Balls
One thing I often see is that Master Balls are inherently unethical, and they are terrible things to create. That Master Balls take away the autonomy of a Pokemon and is no better than simply forcing them into a cage.
There is truth to this, but it is not the whole truth.
First, let us begin with what a Master Ball is. As its name implies, it was originally intended for use only by Pokemon Masters. Those who have bonded with many Pokemon, attained the pinnacle of their specialization and dreams, and truly understand Pokemon. They were intended only to be given to those worthy of the title. Now, these standards have regrettably been relaxed, but you still generally cannot get one unless you are a Champion or have achieved equal deeds.
Silph Co., which makes Pokeballs, manufactured the first Master Ball. They are known to use several simultaneous locking mechanisms to ensure that a Pokemon cannot break out, guaranteeing capture. The exact mechanisms are a closely-guarded company secret, but it is known they are prohibitively expensive to make. Given that they are not for sale, and the sheer cost of making even a single one, it may seem odd that any are made at all.
The primary use of Master Balls is not by normal Trainers, however. They are made and given to the various Pokemon Ranger headquarters, where they are stored. In certain, extremely rare, emergency situations, they will be given out to Rangers active in the field in great quantities.
However, this is only for emergency situations. The highest Ranger authority in the region must approve of such action, alongside their assistants, in unanimous vote. Only when capturing and displacing vast quantities of Pokemon is the least bad option is this enacted. Events such as Team terrorism, or such as Hoenn's Legendary Pokemon, are not suitable situations for this- Simply capturing the Legendary Pokemon would not end the crisis, and so the Master Ball usage is not approved.
I believe, since the invention of the Master Ball, this protocol has been used twice.
Once was for a rabies outbreak of unprecedented proportions. An antivaccination fad swept an area, and it became a hotbed for spread of the disease. Rangers were mobilized to sweep the area, capture all wild Pokemon they could, and... I would prefer not to get into details. Needless to say, this action saved many, many lives, humans and Pokemon alike.
The other was for an imminent volcanic eruption. Many Pokemon can sense when an eruption will happen, and become agitated, but this was a volcanic island in the ocean. There was no place for the Pokemon to go. The Rangers thus swept in, and lacking time to befriend or get the Pokemon to understand, Master Balls were used to essentially evacuate the island of Pokemon so they would not be killed.
It is true that Master Balls, in the wrong hands, would be devastating and cruel beyond measure. However, the Master Ball is a tool like any other. Whether it harms or helps is based on the wielder, not the tool. It can cause misery, but it can also save lives.
Please remember this.

A list of Fakemon and Regional Forms (and a peak at the art for some lines)
Most of the Regional Variants who lose their original types will keep one of them as an Augmia type - extra STAB that only works when an Augmium of that type is held. Most divergent fakemon will have the alternate's differing type as their Augmia, but there will be exceptions, such as those who take on a typing from their prevo or those that share an Augmia type.
Note: This will be the only post of its kind, all regional mon and fakemon will be posted to here.
Completed Pokedex Only
Cubone & Marowak {Ghost}
Rock Cubone
Cubone could have a geode theme?
Grass/Rock Marowak
Orvanian Cubone are covered in fragile crystals, and wear their mother's skull as a homage and to protect themselves. Orvanian Marowak have been encased by the living stone of their mask, a process which slows them, causing vines and moss to cover their bodies.
Gargol → Gargeist {Dragon}
Rock/Flying Gargol
Rock/Ghost Gargeist
Gargoyle
No one is quite sure where gargol came from, only that it is quite protective of weaker pokemon. Gargeist takes a sneakier approach to protection, choosing to scare ill-intenders rather than fight directly.
Geodude → Graveler → Golem {Dark}
Rock/Fighting
Geodude is often mistaken for a large rock, but any who pick it up will be on the wrong end of its temper. Graveler is well-known for its habit of rolling around. It becomes angered when its path is blocked. Golem sheds its shell twice a year. Its temper makes it dangerous to gather this shell for soil enrichment.
Grass/Ghost
Pumpkyu → Pumpkit {Fire} → Pupkin {Fire}
Pumkyu is a lonely ghost, hiding under a pumpkin. Some trainers consider Hallow's Eve to be safer when many gather. Despite its aloof demeanor, Pumpkit cares deeply for its trainer, lighting the way with its jack-o'-lantern. Fiercely loyal and courageous, Pupkin protects its trainer with its life. Its flames burn brighter as it fights.
Shellder → Menashell {Water}
Ice/Water Shellder
Ice/Dark Menashell
Shellder is protected by an ice-covered shell, which it opens and closes rapidly to swim. Menashell has been entirely frozen over and covered in icy spikes. It can shoot these spikes when in battle.
Tumblr media
Sunkern → Sunflora {Dragon}
Grass Sunkern (non-regional)
Grass/Fire Sunflora
Sunkern manages to survive despite only drinking morning dew. It shakes its leaves when frightened. Sunflora are known to put their flames out often when drinking water due to a penchant for splashing.
Tumblr media
Taillow → Swellow {Ice} / Snollow {Grass}
Flying/Grass
Coconuts
Flying/Ice Snollow
Snowball/Hail
Taillow are often born in warmer areas, and make their way inland to prepare for winter. Due to this, their neck fluff often resembles tropical flowers. Swellow tend to migrate even more than Taillow, it will often carry tropical fruits during its journeys, though there are many who wonder how that is feasible. Snollow are Taillow who never migrated back to the warmth of their birthplaces, evolving to handle any harsh winters they might encounter.
Tumblr media
Shroomish → Breloom
Fairy/Grass
Shroomish are known to release a calming scent that could put others to sleep. For this reason, it is often found working alongside nurses. Breloom’s tail hearts have a restorative property and regrow quickly, allowing them to be used in medicine without harming the pokemon.
Tumblr media
Shuckle
Bug/Steel
Shuckle use their blade-like appendages to cut up berries before eating, and also as added defense when pulling their heads into their shells.
Tumblr media
Trebletor → Phantasm {Fairy} / Operetta {Ghost}
Sound/Normal Trebletor
Sound/Ghost Phantasm
Evolves if male
Sound/Fairy Operetta
Evolves if female
Trebletor is well known for its singing, though its voice is still immature. A group's song is often hypnotic. Phantasm is rare to find, hidden away whenever it sings. It is said that only the right Operetta will bring it into view. Operetta is known to seek out trainers and pokemon alike when it sings, but its most beautiful music is saved for Phantasm.
Voltorb → Electrode {Electric}
Ghost/Steel
Blew up too many times
Voltorbs used to be full of energy and life, but now this ghost type must work hard to regain its electrical strength. Electrodes of the past used self destruct too often, causing them to become ghost type, though its electric attacks are still powerful.
More to come

Hey I accidentally had my emotional support Galarian Ponyta evolve into a Rapidash and now I'm not allowed to take her on airplanes for "size concerns" what should I do???
pokémon that are too big to go on planes usually need to be stowed in pokéballs. it's really not a perfect precaution, small pokémon can cause a lot of damage anyway. you should've seen the Little Cup ass battles i've seen take place literally down the center aisle

I'm struggling with a name for the father in my game - he hands out the starters so I want to give him more or less a professor name.
For those who don't know, the character options are as follows:
Maxwell - Nonbinary Quincy - Male Aria - Female
Their mother will either be called 'Eliza' or 'Alexandra'
Their father will either be 'Daniel', 'Jason', or 'Matthew'

Team Chess
Tumblr media
In a region themed around royalty, you need an evil team with a strong theme of their own.
Because of the White/Black dichotomy each color is assigned four types.
Steel, Fighting, Fairy, Ice
Poison, Dark, Ghost, Cosmic
Members
Pawns: The lowest rung of the team, they carry out most of the grunt work. They usually have a Fairy/Poison Podantia, the second stage of the normal/Poison Padant.
Rooks: They are the strategizers of the team, and will sometimes infiltrate unaffiliated locations as a means to secure the team's actions and keep them from being found out. They will have an Ice/Cosmic Golett or Golurk depending on where they're found.
Bishops: The scientists of the group. Will have a regional Fairy/Dark Pawniard when you first meet them. In Queen version they have a Cosmic/Dark Knightslash, or they will have a Fairy/Steel Bisharp in King version.
Knights: The admins of the group. Depending on the version you select, they will either have a Steel/Fighting Rapidash if you choose Queen or a Ghost/Dark Zebstrika if you choose King.
King and Queen: The leaders of the team. Queen will have a Sound/Fairy Operetta while King will have a Sound/Ghost Phantasm. Both evolve from Sound/Normal Trebletor dependent on gender.
Story
According to ancient texts, Merlithe and Nimunia were powerful pokemon, destined to choose a ruler whenever Orvana needed their aid. In many legends, this pair has been remarked as both being at odds with each other but also working together to ensure the region's future. These days, many consider such stories to merely be myths, due to the disappearance of Merlith and Nimunia centuries ago.
Team Chess, however, believes the pair still exist, hidden away as they wait for a champion. Both King and Queen consider themselves as rightful heirs, and thus there are those in the team who explicitly side with one or the other, an uneasy truce held in their search for the great beings.
Due to the fact that Merlith and Nimunia have not been found by any usual methods, Team Chess has begun focusing their efforts on dimensional pockets, forcing reality to tear further than it has in the past and playing god with probability. Eventually, Merlithe and Nimunia will be drawn to these pockets, awakened by their wavering stability and drawn in by the power keeping them open.
If you choose Pokemon Queen, King will break the truce upon capturing Merlith who appears first. From then, it is a race between you and Queen to find Nimunia, after which the two of you enter an uneasy truce of your own to battle King's forces. If you choose Pokemon King, the opposite will occur, and Merlith will be your legendary partner.
This is all for Team Chess, so tune in next time when I update my regional forms and fakemon!

Voidballs won!
Dungeons are locations of warped probability, in which shiny chances are 100% and extra experience is gained. Each type has a unique dungeon. However, due to the reality warping, regular pokeballs cannot be used, but the dungeon balls will be available after you beat at least 1 gym.

Pokemon King & Queen
Pokemon K&Q is a fangame set in Orvana, a region that consists of two islands - Ruvia and Valorik. You and your twin live on a ranch with your father while your mother is away being the champion of the region. As you traverse Orvana, you will find 'dungeons', pockets of reality in which a primary type thrives with complete shiny odds but you cannot use regular pokeballs in them due to the space-time disruptions, but these balls do not become available until you've beaten the first gym. The elite four and a connected city will be on the island you don't start on.
This region is somewhat open world, and the gym leaders will change their teams based on how many pokemon you have. There will be some locations blocked off because you don't have the right pokemon or don't have enough team members, and others like the elite four and the second island may be blocked off by badge count. Some areas will also be without access according to story progression, but these will mostly be tied to evil team actions.
(poll at the bottom)
Mechanics
Depending on if you choose the Queen or King version of the game, you will start on different islands with access to different pokemon. When you reach the second island, the pokemon the other 'version' has access to become available at extremely low chances to preserve 'version seperation' without the need to figure out how to implement trades but they are only available on the second island.
Speaking of trades, I am thinking about them happening when you move between islands instead, meaning they don't become available until you're halfway through the game, but they will have to be holding an item.
I have four primary mechanical additions.
First is pokemon with three types. I have a mechanic similar to tera but it doesn't replace a type it adds, and the legendaries will likely both have 3 types without any extra items, or have a 'powered down' form in the same manner as Zacian and Zamacenta. This is essentially a reskinned mega evolution combined with tera typing.
Second, I added 2 more types, partially just so the Elite Four (which focus on a single type) don't overlap with gyms but allow all types to be used. (I'm thinking about the champion using a random team typing but that one is still uncertain).
Cosmic
Strong: Fairy, Dark
Weak: Psychic, Dragon
Resist: Sound
Sound
Strong: Psychic, Fighting
Weak: Electric, Ground
Resist: Dragon
Third is my gyms being dual-typed. I have some already figured out but not all of them
Grass/Rock
Cosmic/Fairy
Psychic/Sound
Fighting/Ground
Electric/Water
The Elite Four will be 'weaker' types - Normal, Bug, Ice, and Poison
Fourth is shiny dungeons. Like the safari zone you can only use special pokeballs for the dungeons, but you can still fight the pokemon with increased experience gain. These dungeons are being created by the evil team trying to manipulate probability among other things to force the legendaries to show up.
Maps
These are the most recent images I have for the areas in the region.
Tumblr media
First is Valorik's Overgrove Town.
This lovely area is nestled between a forest and some mountains and is home to the Grass/Rock Gym leader Rosetta who's ace is a regional marowak.
The pond is home to many magikarp, but you might find a few menashell, rowdy water/fighting types.
Tumblr media
Second is Valorik's Fenn Ranch.
This has been covered before but I added more space to the pens and moved the berry farm. Each pen houses s different variety of animal.
Top left contains Miltank, Tauros, and the regional prevo of both, Kalva, a small blue cattle.
Top right contains Mareep and Wooloo, as well as a Stoutland to keep an eye on them and a Lillipup in training to be a herd dog.
Middle pen contains Ponyta, Rapidash, Mudbray, and Mudsdale.
Bottom Pen contains Torchic and the currently unnamed Turkey Pokemon - Which will likely be Normal/Fighting, Ground/Fighting, or Normal/Ground.
Poll Closed
(feel free to reblog and share with friends)
That's it for this update! See ya next time with a list of Pokemon gaining the Sound or Cosmic types!

You know what I want? Culture clashes between the pokemon regions.
Someone from Unova travels to Kanto/Johto wearing a t-shirt with a big R on the chest. They get dirty looks for it and have no idea what’s going on.
A Kalosian meets someone from Sinnoh and keeps standing too close to them. The Sinnoh native keeps stepping back uncomfortably, but the Kalosian keeps stepping closer.
Someone from Johto goes to Unova and ????EVERYTHING IS SO BIG=????
A Hoennian meets up with a Kalosian and the Kalosian goes for cheek kisses while the Hoennian goes for a gentle head butt.
