The First Friend launched today! A majestic, first person exploration game that delves you into the personal story of you and your pet dog Zack as you traverse beautiful terrains and discover the forgotten truth that is buried away deep inside.
This is Alexander Westwater, creator of The First Friend. After 6+ months of development. I'm excited to say that The First Friend just launched on Steam!
The First Friend is a First-person exploration game about an owner finding his dog named Zack while discovering artifacts that reveal forgotten memories of the owners past, present and future. It’s about loving and cherishing the things that you have rather than being envious of what you don’t have. The game has happy moments, sad moments and peaceful moments backed up by an emotional soundtrack by Myuu.
This game is inspired by The First Tree by David Wehle. For the people who like relaxing, narrative focused games like Everybody's Gone to the Rapture or Dear Esther then you may like this one too.

I was going to do a 100% developer commentary for my game The First Friend but since I'm camera shy I decided to make a Q&A reddit post where I answer a bunch of questions about my game like Why did I make it?, How did you learn coding? Only 3 days left until The First Friend releases - A walking simulator where your dog, Zack is missing and you must find by traveling through majestic scenery and uncover forgotten memories that reveal stories of the owners life and the special times he shared with Zack.
