Out of curiosity, what exactly do you like about ever after high?

Do you prefer the human relatability or the concept of the series. Like, do you prefer it when the characters show normal relations, or do you enjoy it when they play into their world?

For example.

I ask you to make a scene about Raven and her mother. What would you make it about

Would you write about their mother-daughter drama, or would you focus on the evil Queen legacy element?

Yes, you can essentially tell the same story, but ultimately it wouldn’t be told the same way. This would be the difference between telling a story about racism, or telling a story about racism through the metaphor of something like mutations or monsters. One has a more grounded human element, while the other has a more high concept story.

Like, you can do a story about a girl that was bullied by other children because of her mother, but it’s different because that bullying was because that mother is a cannibal.

Which do you prefer?

Maddie: I don’t know anything about this autism, Mr. King. But Raven is my best friend, I love her dearly. I talk to her, but I don’t know if she can even hear me. She just sits there all day long, In her own little world, staring into those blank pages. Just like what is she thinking about?

Raven turns to an empty page.

Maddie smiles: Raven, let’s get some dinner. Okay?

Maddie helps Raven to her feet. She places the book down on the table as the two walk out the door.

Been thinking of an equestria girls version of Discord.

I think the obvious choice is that Discord is the science teacher.

What I imagine is this.

So EG Fluttershy is crushing on the teacher. When she talks to the others they all kind of laugh it off, rainbow dash even makes a joke about Fluttershy having a thing for creepy old guys. But ultimately they don’t think much about it as Mr. Cord doesn’t really seem to have any interest and Fluttershy isn’t really brave enough to attempt anything.

So Fluttershy decides to prove them wrong by telling their teacher after school. As they speak after school it’s hard to tell if Discord really understand what she isn’t getting at or not, but during their conversation, Fluttershy sees a photograph.

The photograph is of Discord and a more mature woman - strangely enough has pink hair like her. Swallowing her nerves, Fluttershy asks him if that is him and his wife.

Discord looks at the photo and smiles. He says it is. But she died a long time ago and that felt like such a lifetime ago and now they are world’s apart.

The way he speaks of his wife makes Fluttershy like him even more… but it also disheartens her at the same time. She says nothing.

Leading the young girl out of his classroom, Discord walks her out and makes sure she gets to her friends safely. But not before you spot the truth.

Perhaps it was a trick of the light or one’s imagination, but it seemed the photo on his desk changed for just a split second. Instead of a man and wife, you see a strange draconecuus and a pink haired Pegasus in his arms.

Been replaying Nier: Automata and I had an interesting concept for EAH.

Would you be up for a “death of the author” type of story for EAH. It could even be part of my “reboot” universe.

After all of the characters have been fighting against Destiny, daughter of the author, and trying to change their futures and rewrite their stories they finally confront her in her own library.

Only to find Destiny dead.

She has been dead for a long time, it seems that she has been dead since the end of “G1 timeline” (a bit of meta.)

Basically revealing that everything that the characters have been through has been for naught as the woman that has been the cause of their suffering has been dead since the beginning.

I think what I really like about EAH is that unlike most “Super Schools” we aren’t given exposition dump because “Raven was a normal girl that was invited to Ever After High, it’s revealed she is the daughter of the Evil Queen” that these typical stories do. Instead we are presented with a world with characters that knows what’s going on and as we read we get to learn for ouselves what this world is like.
