            Trent Reznor (Michael Reznor) is an American music artist who is best known for being the lead of band NIN which he founded in 1988. NIN have had countless hit albums and songs such as: Hurt, Something I Can Never Have, I Would For You, March of the Pigs, Zero-Sum, Disappointed, Ruiner, Terrible Lie, Wish, and Closer. Reznor has also worked on soundtracks, Natural Born Killers and The Lost Highway. He also worked with other music artists, including David Bowie in 1997.

            Reznor was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, US and is of German and Irish descent. Music became his life at the age of 12 when he started playing the piano and attended his first concert The Eagles in 1976.  

            Reznor rented 10050 Cielo Drive mansion, where Sharon Tate and her friends where murdered by Charles Manson followers in 1969. He built a studio space in the house to record the album, The Downward Spiral (1994).

            He became friends with Marilyn Manson and produced his first album and helped him on numerous tracks. He stated, ‘my best friend turned on me’, ‘a group of people I spent time with, recorded an album with, and their name has two words in it and they start with the letter M…’ and ‘I took time to get my head straight’.

            Reznor is married and has five children and lives in Los Angeles. He has suffered from depression and became a heavy user of drugs and alcohol until he kicked his habit in 2001. Today he is in a better place, healthy, fit and has a good relationship with his wife and children.

4. "Little Black Submarines" by The Black Keys - I was just listening to this one a lot when creating this comic, so I kind of associate it with Obito too now. I didn't pay attention to the lyrics, but the vibe is lovely.

5. Roxette - "Salvation" is like if Obito survived... xDDD Haha a positive retro song xD A wild relief. I love how it contrasts in my head with the image of tired, quiet, thoughtful post-war Obito, whose heart is still craving for a spark of light and color in this life. A spark of love. 6. Amadas Estrellas by Achillea - well, it probably has nothing to do with either of them and Spanish may be distracting, but I like unhurried, sensual songs like this, and it's a nice soundtrack for my daydreaming, especially when I look at beautiful art of them. Especially this one.

7. Sophie Zelmani - Forgiveness - this is finally, finally kkob:

ghost quartet live at the mckittrick - dave malloy: no words. u just cant go wrong with concept albums, nonetheless dave malloy. i love me some audience interaction and weird plots and talking bears and betrayal and reincarnation

the great comet of 1812 - dave malloy: licherally changed my life i think, possibly one of the best musicals to be on broadway and i became friends w @romancepdf through it. the finale still makes me want to throw up screaming (positive)

hadestown (live) - anais mitchell: another musical that changed my life, also opened me to folk and jazz and blues :-) i will forever believe that this version of hadestown will always be above the broadway version. u just cant beat live recordings. u cant!

year zero - nine inch nails: struggled to pick a NIN album to put on here and i went with this one. trent makes a lot of emotional music but i dont think anything he has made touched my soul as much as in this twilight or zero sum

transgender dysphoria blues - against me!: whats there to say. this is essential music for each and every transsexual

wasteland baby - hozier: i cant listen to this without being like, a little sad cause i listened to this album a lot when i was in a really good place in my life. this album reminds me of sunsets on a balcony and roadtrips and homemade pies and laughing a lot.

year of the rat - terminal city rats: local band, found out about them when the main singer approched me and my partner at a bus stop and told us to listen to his band. and at the first punk show i went to, we saw them preform and it was SOOO fun

octet - dave malloy: sorry this is another dave malloy album. would u believe me if i said this also changed my life. this is the first time that ive seen like, commentary on the dangers of social media and phones and technology done in a way thats not like "oooh phone bad toxic gen z addicted to PHONE" like this is the first time its been done WELL

hymns for the exiled - anais mitchell: ahh this album feels like a warm hug. anais mitchell is such a strong writer and i simply love me a good gentle folk album that is also political.

Facts about Victor: pt.1, Music influences

I thought as part of my self introduction it might be quite fun to do a little series of about me things. And I thought with the upcoming release of my new song I might just start with my influences, so musicians that inspired me to do what I do:

Lorn

Some of the hardest drums out there, slow paced, yet even underneath this thick blanket of heavy rhythms, he manages to makes the emotions felt. A musician I really look up to as he is able to keep the balance between reinventing his own style and at the same time keeping it on brand, if that makes sense? Personally, his music did help me through a LOT of tough times in the past.

HEALTH

The first time I heard their music, I almost got whiplashed bu how extreme the contrast in their songs can be: Soft voices, slow melodies and then the drums kick in so hard that the speakers go flying (also bit of music nerd talk, I'm still in awe how they manage to keep the reverb on their bass in check without making everything sound muddy xD) They recently had collaborations with KoRn and the next group on my list:

I guess NIN doesn't need any further introduction. Their will to experiment and flip the musical table is basically unmatched. I guess that's why I love to just mix and match stuff to see if things do fit or not.
