So. Looks like we're really getting that movie this time.
I've decided I wanted to feel excited and laugh about this instead of being worried :D. It's a live action movie and I'm perfectly fine haha what could go wrong!
Drawing my favorite trio helps :)). I've been laughing way too much at Mr. Dragmire here 😆

OK BUT IMAGINE THIS:
Link doesn’t say anything throughout the entire movie, not a single solitary word beyond the usual hiyah hup ha etc. etc. until some point near the very end when he is interacting with Zelda, and all he says, entirely, 100% sincerely, is “Excuse me, princess.”
And that is all.

tom holland memes aside, i have some hope that zelda wont have too crazy of a celebrity cast. it would just be way more distracting in a live-action movie. mario can get away with it, both because its animated and because its a goofier franchise. zelda really can't.
given the marvel comparisons with the producer - i have to give marvel a bit of credit here. yes, really. i know, very tragic. but one thing about marvel movies is that, to their sincere credit, in MOST cases, they dont pick someone who was already an A-lister.
i know that sounds crazy, given how many celebrities are associated with marvel - but think about it. they usually pick someone whos good for the role, who then becomes an A-lister after the movie. just because those movies are so damn big.
like. who was chris evans before marvel? the guy who played lucas lee in scott pilgrim? who was scarlett johansson? brie larson? chris hemsworth?
these people are all A-listers NOW, yes. obviously. but they werent before their marvel roles. so hopefully, zelda will be the same story. i dont think we will have a "jason momoa as ganondorf" situation.

My demands for the Zelda movie
Keep Link androgynous. Don't cast some big Chad muscle man to play him. Eiji Aonuma himself said Link was designed to appear gender neutral so anyone could relate to him.
DO NOT CAST A WHITE MAN AS GANONDORF. I'm already mad enough at TotK for having all of its characters of color voiced by the pastiest white people I've ever seen.
Give Princess Zelda an active role.
Don't americanize it too much! BotW and TotK took a lot of inspiration from Japanese mythology and Mesoamerican culture and it was COOL! It made those games look different from your typical fantasy universe.

The Zelda movie needs to be silly, but not in a "haha so quirky" modern Disney princess kind of way. It needs to be unabashedly goofy and weird with the same genuine sincerity as presented in the games. It needs to have plot points and or characters that make you go "huh??" in the most endeared way possible. It needs to have serious moments that are unintentionally whacky as fuck. I won't accept a Zelda movie that takes itself completely seriously unless they're pulling some Oscar winning story out of their ass (which won't happen). Don't ever let them take the silly out of Zelda
