What happens when you take Decelis Academy’s top student, their star taekwondo athlete and put them in front of a camera?

- during the pregnancy he would buy all those mother’s book or any pregnancy related books he could find. he would probably act like a mom who would tell you to eat certain things since it’s good for your pregnancy. He would come home each day with some random fact.

- he loves talking to the baby !!! he would lay down next to you and start talking to your tummy <3 “hi baby !! your dad is so ready to meet you ! omg did you what your mom tried today ??” he goes on telling the baby bout his day and leave kisses ALOT OF THEM.

- every night before bed he would give you a kiss and your tummy one because apparently he needs to be equal sharing his love (he’s playful)

- he’s willing to buy any type of food regardless of the time, to make sure your cravings are satisfied. on top of that he would actually join you and “try” have some of your cravings.

- one night he will find you curled up crying. it was one of those nights where you let insecurities get the best of you. immediately he would drop everything and bring you to a hug. “what happened love ?” “i just. i just feel like you wouldn’t love anymore for how i look after i give birth, and these marks it’s such-” “love don’t say such a thing. I’ll always love you and right now you’re looking most beautiful i have seen my life, carrying my child”

- he would spend the night cuddling with you and giving reassurance that you’re beautiful, amazing and best thing that ever happened to him.

- he is such a girls dad and you cannot disagree with me. I speak the truth /j

- he would be biggest supporter during your pregnancy. honestly you couldn’t have done it without his help <3

- he loves to bring matching clothes for three of you guys. it just warms his heart sm.

- one night you see him cry and worried you asked him what happened. he would explain how you and the baby is the best thing that happened to him. how’s he’s so thankful for it all the time 🥺 you would give him the biggest hug ever (i love him sm)

a/n: first zb1 fic and it was kinda a word dump stemming from one of my crazy ideas LOL. the inspiration from this series came after seeing the character nahida (from genshin) and her ability to read the mind of any sumeru npc with her skill. i also thought it'd be kinda cool to explore the different scenarios that y/n could get themselves into if they could do that.

if you were to go back and ask six-year-old y/n what superpower they would have wanted, they would excitedly have said, "mind reading! it's so cool to know people's thoughts!"

the eighteen-year-old version of you knew better than that, though. since the age of seven, your abilities had only continued to develop, and if you tried enough, you could communicate telepathically with people.

telepathy's fucking annoying sometimes. but it has its perks too.

you can recall many anecdotes, ranging from humorous to depressing to gross, that were the consequence of your telepathic abilities.

1. so he does have a crush..

year 2 of high school

if there was one thing you learned today, it's that kim gyuvin was not great at hiding his thoughts.

when you wanted to focus, it was natural for you to suppress your mind's tendency to peer into the minds of others, but depending on how active their thoughts were, it was difficult.

so that was how you learned in your science class that your cute lab partner wanted to ask you out, but never had the chance to really talk with you until now.

that was all accompanied by a cascade of other thoughts like y/n's such a talented student, I'd love to even be friends with them, and that's a cute necklace.

hm, kinda cute, you thought to yourself. truth be told, you were a little hesitant to make the first move romantically, but a tiny little push couldn't hurt, right?

you innocently whistled while scribbling down a few more notes—you couldn't make it too obvious that you knew his secret. but since the two of you had to make a joint presentation presenting your findings from today's lab, you figured that it would be a lot easier if you exchanged contact information with him.

and hey, he was cute.

you tapped gyuvin on the shoulder and smiled, showing him your lab paper with your personal info written in the right-hand corner.

"i’ve finished this part of the worksheet—here's my number and kakao talk id so we can talk more. let's work hard on the presentation together!"

his lips formed an o of surprise, and you swore that he was blushing. "alright then! uh, thanks for giving me your info!"

AHHHHH wait wait wait oh my god what just happened was all you could hear in his mind. a subtle smile bloomed on your face. science class just got a lot more interesting.

2. a (mostly) clean separation

year 1 of high school

you actually didn't enjoy telling people about your abilities. it wasn't that people with powers were so uncommon (you forgot the exact figure, but you thought it was about 2 percent of south korea's population that did).

no, it was the specific nature of your abilities. people tended to make assumptions about you as soon as you trusted them enough to drop this info.

it was as if you were suddenly someone not to be trusted, even though you were acting no differently than you had before.

although, their assumptions were understandable. you couldn't say you had never abused your abilities for personal gain, but it was something you didn't want to make a habit of.

revealing to your friend, gunwook, your secret had caused a minor but turbulent period of conflict in your friendship.

he clenched his fists and released them with a sigh. "how did i not connect all the dots? i'm hurt that you've kept this from me for so long."

6 months was a long time to keep a secret, but you were cautious by nature. you knew that not everyone liked people with superpowers, and that some still faced discrimination and greater scrutiny.

besides, you wanted people to get to know you for things outside your powers.

"i'm sorry, gunwook. i had my reasons. i thought you would judge me harshly, and i've had several negative experiences of this happening."

you paused to catch your breath, and continued, trying to silence his troubled thoughts, but it was getting increasingly more difficult. you held a hand to your head.

"look, i'll understand if you want to stop being friends."

he grabbed his water bottle and drank some of the liquid, presumably to calm down. he was facing away from you, and let out a sigh.

gunwook was actually quite level-headed most of the time, which was why it pained you to see him trying to hold back signs of emotional distress.

if it was personal, you weren't going to pry. it was up to him to decide if and when he would tell you.

you got one final glimpse of his thoughts before he bid you goodbye.

as he walked away, all you could hear were the autumn leaves crunching beneath his feet and the wind that drowned every noise out so easily.

3. the donut order

year 2 of elementary school

there was no better feeling for you as a kid than the chance of getting a treat after school, and since you had quite the sweet tooth, there was no better place to go than the donut shop.

"which one do you want?" your mother had said, gesturing to the display case of donuts. back then, you could barely see the whole thing, so you had to stand on your tippy-toes.

your gaze settled on one particular flavor. "chocolate, please!"

"you got it, kiddo."

your mother's thoughts were creeping into your mind. this had happened a few times before, but now, they were clearer.

i think i should try something new. lemon sounds good. oh, i'll get another donut for him too, maple. i'm sure hayoung won't mind an oreo. shoot, i don't think i have enough reward points. maybe next time.

"mommy, i think you're getting a lemon donut and bringing back a maple for daddy, and an oreo for hayoung!"

she nodded, but her eyes soon widened with surprise. "yes, that's—wait, how did you know? we'll talk about this later."

you wondered if you had said anything wrong, but quickly returned to the thought of getting a donut.

the employee working the counter was busy refilling certain sections of the display case and seemed to give no indication that she had heard the conversation between you and your mother.

"miss?" your mother asked politely, and the employee looked up. "i'll get one maple, one lemon, one oreo, one chocolate."

"will that be all?"

"yes."

"okay, one maple, one lemon, one oreo, one chocolate," she repeated for confirmation, grabbing each flavor mentioned and placing them in a large box. "you can insert, swipe or tap your card here."

your mom took out her credit card and followed the instructions on the kiosk.

"would you like a receipt?" the worker asked.

"no, thank you."

"alright, thank you and have a good afternoon!"

you followed your mother out the door, watching her quickly stride towards the car. after both of you got in, she sighed.

"y/n, you've always been a pretty smart kid, but i wasn't exactly ready for you to be a mind reader. i'm pretty sure that's why you knew what i was ordering."

you grinned, eyes wide with curiosity. "so i can really read people's thoughts?"

she hummed thoughtfully. "well, let's make sure. i'm thinking of an animal right now, what is it?"

pink giraffe with wings. she should be able to sense that thought.

"a pink giraffe with wings... but that doesn't exist."

she sighed. "what am i going to do with you, my dear child?"

4. money before morals

year 3 of middle school

you were walking around campus after school, wanting to enjoy a few minutes to yourself. you had your headphones on, not wanting to be disturbed.

however, a figure began to approach you. as you took in his facial features, you suddenly recognized him.

that’s jeon jaebeom. his dad works for the school administration…

he walked in line with you, so you started walking towards a more crowded area to try and get away from him. you could hear him yelling.

“hey, wait! you’re the one who can read minds, aren’t you?”

you took off your headphones and glared at him. “ah, so someone was looking at something they shouldn’t have. keep it down, will you?”

he chuckled, and you wanted nothing more than to punch him in the face, even if it would get you in trouble.

“but you would be useful to me. i’d like for you to help me cheat on our next math test. see if you can get the answer key or something. i’m close to getting a c in that class, anyways.”

you groaned. what an idiotic request. “and why would i do that? so i can get expelled on your behalf?”

he shrugged. “because i’d pay you.”

you did a quick scan of his thoughts.

this bitch would be stupid if she actually did it.

hm, why not play around with him for a bit?

you looked at him quizzically. “how much?”

“100,000 won. you could probably buy a pretty nice meal with that amount.”

it would be useful, but i can't stoop that low to get it, you thought.

you laughed and pretended to thoughtfully consider it for a couple of seconds.

“i don’t think so.”

jaebeom glared at you. “what, you want higher? come on, isn’t this a good enough amount?”

you were truly annoyed and just wanted to blast your music again. why did you even remove your headphones, just to hear him say some nonsense? at least you were the same age as him, so he couldn't say something like "respect your elders."

it was time to go home.

“no, i don’t want your money, i want you to leave me the fuck alone. i’m not someone who stoops that low just to pass one test, but apparently someone thinks i’m a ‘stupid bitch.’”

he sneered and walked past you, shoving you as he did so. “fine. no one would trust someone like you anyways to help because all you’ll do is read their thoughts and manipulate them."

you staggered sideways, trying to regain your balance. you scowled.

really, you should have known better than to entertain a conversation with someone as spoiled as him. he shouldn't have soured your day, but in your defense, the middle school you was bad at picking the correct battles to fight.

still, you wondered if no one would trust you after all.

5. i'll be your destination

year 2 of high school

you groaned, trying to get up from your bed, and failing. usually, when your time of the month rolled around, the cramps weren't so unbearable, but of course, it had to be more painful than usual this month.

your sister had already gone off to school for the day, but your parents had allowed you to stay home, thankfully. they'd gone off to work, but they left soup that you could reheat in the microwave.

you grabbed a cup and filled it with water. you were bored, but you didn't want to risk getting any of your friends in trouble by texting them (seriously, how hard was it to silence a cell phone?).

although, there was one thing you could potentially try...

hey gyuvin, what class are you in right now?

you didn't expect an instantaneous response or one at all. then again, the more often you contacted someone telepathically, the easier the process was, and you would say you and gyuvin had developed a pretty strong bond.

oh, hi y/n! social studies. you sound like crap by the way, haha.

you could practically visualize his smile. if you had the energy and were with him in person, you'd playfully elbow him.

ugh, so mean.

you just thought of elbowing me, so who's the mean one? ok but seriously, are you sick? fever? your attendance is usually pretty good. or wait, it's that time of the month?

bingo. should i give you a cookie or something for getting it right?

you smiled. he always got away with cheeky remarks like this.

it was some boring worksheet and it's done, i swear. besides, i'd rather help you feel better. is there anything i can do?

you've learned that despite initially pegging gyuvin for a jokester, he was incredibly caring and emotionally receptive.

well, talking has already helped me so much. but if you really want to do something... then i want to hear you sing. it doesn't have to be long.

he continued the lyrics while you finished your soup, and you felt more relaxed. even the worst days could turn bright whenever he was in your mind.

6. don't spoil the ending!

watching dramas was a slow process for you, and it was another reason why you had to block people's thoughts sometimes.

because occasionally, a certain friend would be thinking about the ending of a show you weren't caught up on...

7. information overload

year 2 of high school

family reunions weren't always the greatest place to be. of course, there was a lot of good food, whether it was homemade cooking, or people used another catering option.

but the downside to a large family reunion was an abundance of thoughts to read, which was the case anywhere that was crowded. however, family reunions made you quite nervous.

people's thoughts began to creep into your headspace, the voices semi-recognizable.

she got so fat.

i wonder where he's working? some tech company, i've heard.

auntie's boyfriend is so ugly.

dinner looks good.

can we go home? now?

he'd better get into a sky university.

i hope the kids don't crash into the wall..

of course, it had gotten easier to block these thoughts out, but you could never get rid of them a hundred percent. people had more on their minds than you'd expected.

if your mind was too muddled, it just induced headaches and sometimes, other symptoms such as suddenly feeling nauseous. that's why you couldn't be in crowded places for too long, and you usually had some sort of water bottle with you.

damn, you thought. i need somewhere to be alone.

you tried not to invite conversation as you found your way to the bathroom, shutting the door quickly as you entered.

you sunk to the floor, leaned against a wall, and closed your eyes, glad to be able to rest, if only for a short while. a peaceful smile appeared on your face.

you'd long accepted that your experiences as an adolescent weren't ever going to be entirely normal, whatever that meant. your powers were a blessing and a curse, a gift and a tool for destruction.

of course, it was up to you to decide how you would use them in the future.

but as long as you had people in your life that accepted and cared for you no matter what secrets you held, you'd be alright.

he was actually in the hospital, visiting you but he had to take a phone call and went outside to take it since you were already sick enough and honestly he didn’t want you to bother you even more and possibly cause more stress to you :(. he was pacing back and forth talking on the phone, in front of the door to your hospital bedroom when he saw a flock of doctors and nurses rushing towards your room, he got scared and instantly hung up on the person on the other line and rushed inside but he was held back and was let out of the room but all he could see was you laying down on the bed, motionless and the flat line beeping pretty loudly whilst doctors were trying to save you with the shock machine(?). when he got the news of you passing, he may have cried a few tears but he still wanted to put on the strong persona for you, since you liked that about him and he regularly visits your grave and sits there and talks about his day and how he is feeling and doing after you’ve been gone, definitely keeps a picture of you in his wallet, bedside, his phone and everywhere else. he’s probably not gonna fall in love ever again since all he sees in other girls is a shadow of you(if that makes sense).

he was in china, doing his individual schedules and socialising with paparazzi and other celebrities in the event he was currently at when he suddenly got a call from one of your family members and he broke the news to him, and boy…he honestly thought it was joke/prank since it was april and was deadass scoffing at the family member until they sent photo evidence of well…your dead body laying still. man become faster than sonic and dipped out of the event and went back to his hospital to pack up his suitcases as his manager was following behind him and yelling at him, which resulted in him yelling back louder and quickly rushing out of there and taking the earliest flight back to whatever country you were in. he honestly looked more like a dead corpse than you, and if you weren’t for you laying down peacefully in your open casket in the church, he might have been mistaken for the dead one. as people were taking turns to speak to your dead body and look at you for the last time and when it was his turn, his eyes burned and filled up with tears but he hold them back and extended his shaky hand towards your cold face and gently caressing it and moved on before he broke down in front of everyone. he went back to his work in china, with some of the stuff he got for you in his hands whilst waiting in the airport and he occasionally smelled them since they still smelled like you. also, i think he would regularly message your number and still talk to you even though he knew you wouldn’t replay to him, nust to help him cope. me thinks.

he’s curled up onto a ball, on your bed that still smells like you after the funeral, still in his all-black suit as he quietly weeps whilst holding one of your hamster plushies he got for you so you could both match. he had to be literally pulled off your bed otherwise he would’ve rot there and probably join you in heaven. after a few days of your passing, he comes back to your place with a box in his hand to collect back his sweaters and stuff you stole from him whilst you were still alive, has another weeping session there while he goes through your closet and looks through your stuff. definitely steals some of your oversized clothes that could possibly fit him, two of your perfumes so he could use them and the plushies he got for you so he could cuddle them at night, since he can’t fall asleep without you curled up next to him. he probably has to go on hiatus for weeks or months until he could slowly get out of his grieving pt.1. since he already has a tattoo of the sun, moon and star on his chest, i could definitely see him getting another one, either an animal that resembles you, a flower you loved or simply anything that could remind him of you, permanently tattooed on him, next to where his heart is on his chest and your initials right next to the tattoo in a cursive font.

bro is hitting the gym more often than before, probably gonna outdo his own personal trainer and take his job since as gym bro, working out is the only to get his mind off of the fact that his love and future spouse is long gone now. probably goes on hiatus pt.3 without no explanation what so ever and flys back to canada to talk his feelings out with his family members and talk about how much you loved each other and share some sweet moments he had with you that is gonna be engraved in his brain the most. he the calmest one of them all tbh, idk i just see him like that. he hides his emotions pretty well and only breaks down whenever it’s your death anniversary, birthday or simply anything that you both celebrated together. i see him slowly turning himself into you, so he could feel that you’re still alive and with him, either by learning one of your hobbies or something you liked doing in your free time. a little bit unhinged but…i can see him bringing an ouija board home just so he could communicate with you only to end up summoning demons in his house💀.

trust me, his vocals gonna improve and become the next mariah carey after signing his heart and emotions out after your death. i mean, he is doing stuff he loves all at once, singing, composing songs, playing on his guitar which was gifted by you to him on his birthday and most importantly, he has a whole ass file and documents of just songs he has written for you and about you, and his love and how much he misses you. i can definitely see him putting one of those barcodes on your headstone and once it’s scanned it leads to a video of you two, sitting down on the couch in the living room of your place while he strums the strings on his guitar as you attempt singing while he encourages you, sings along with you and having the most beautiful shiny eyes, that is filled with such admiration and love for you as you (attempt) sing your heart out. probably has the stuff you have bought for him placed carefully in a clear case, on top of a dresser in the corner of his room which he protects with his life, and definitely has his most favourite picture of you, framed in the middle of said case surrounded by your most favourite flowers and any type of jewellery you wore on daily basis next to the picture and flowers. some of the guys may have walked in on him talking to your picture whilst he cried in his hands.

man is hella devastated, has to go on hiatus pt.2 until further notice since he ani’t coming on the stage with eyes redder than his hair, trust me. won’t even let your family put their hands in their pockets to pay for the expenses of the funeral since he has already payed for them all, hell even got the best casket and stuff like that, probably hired a makeup artist to make you seem less…dead before burying you, so his angel is always looking pretty even when they are long gone. just like hanbin, probably will get a tattoo of an angel on his forearm and write your initials next to it in memorial for you. he is balding by all that bleach in his hair than he is gonna bald even more when he spots a tiny little mold or dirt forming on your headstone whilst visiting your grave, always and always gets rose and puts them down on your grave, or whatever flower you preferred. although, i think he’ll form some sort of addiction since grieving ani’t going the best for him at all, probably gambling or so. but at night after doing such things, he is holding a photo of you in his hands as he cries and tries to be forgiven by you since he promised himself he won’t be doing anything batshit crazy.

those big eyes of his are always going be filled with tears, to the brim even at the smallest thought of you. or maybe someone saying a name that’s quite close to your own, all that height and big boy energy for nothing since he’s crashing down on the floor and sobbing his feelings out until his eyes can’t produce anymore tears. he has probably bought you many, and i mean many matching jewellery whilst you were still alive, and he wears all of them on daily basis, he may look like an loser or someone who’s gypsy but who cares as long as he feels that some part of you is with him everyday. in my opinion, i feel like he’d take pictures of the sky whenever he sees it looking pretty since he believes it’s a sign that you’re watching over him, thus why the sky looks prettier today, just like you. since he likes skinship, i believe he’s going to hug your pillow every night and for the rest of his life. will probably talk to his dog about you and how much he misses you. probably gets another dog that somewhat as some resemblance to you and names it after you, since you wanted to adopt one with him but couldn’t unfortunately after your passing.

oh dear…gunwook probably watched you die slowly in his arms after being accidentally injured in a fatal hit and run accident. the ambulance got there a little too late and let’s just say he was lashing out on them even though he has always been known as the calm boy who rarely argues back with others, especially those older than him but he couldn’t stay still, let alone keep his mouth shut after watching his lover die in his arms. if watching you die was bad, the funeral and grief was even worse, probably has it the worst case of depression, worser than yujin’s. since you died younger and had a whole bucket list filled to the brim, that you planned with gunwook. he promised himself to go and fulfill those dreams himself, is like jiwoong and keeps a photon of you on him all the times and calls it his lucky charm. he may not be that religious but he is always blaming himself for your death and prays to god to forgive and regularly visits the church to somewhat repent his so called sins.

i know idols aren’t allowed to go home that often but after your passing and death, his mental state took a toll on him and he fainted during practice one day. had to go on hiatus pt.3, and was immediately sent back home after being discharged from the hospital. definitely needs therapy to talk his feelings out, but doesn’t always go to his therapist and instead just goes to his mom and talks to her about you, whilst she holds him in her arms and lets him cry on her shoulder until he feels somewhat better. strongly believe he’s going to be depressed for awhile and be inside his room all day long and won’t go out until everyone as fallen asleep. after a year or so, he’ll be better but still need some time to heal completely, and since both of you were in the same school and he felt super sad and depressed on his graduation since you were supposed to graduate together. i can see him, teary eyed, still in his school uniform and his graduation jacket in his arms as he was sitting down next to your grave, pleading at you to come back somehow since he couldn’t bare it anymore, not without you. after the sun sets, he places the graduation hat you bought months prior to your graduation, on your headstone and bids you goodbye before dragging his feet back home and going back to his usual depression slump in his room. would probably end up quitting the idol life also..

“... oh?”

opening the front door of your home after hearing a knock or two, you found yourself a little confused when you were met with your seatmate’s gaze. it was christmas eve and the simple dinner between you and your family had just ended, which meant you were returning to your normal life, asking yourself if santa could even give you what you wished for. — maybe a different way of living where you could afford anything you’ve laid your eyes on.

but even the elves would think that’s more impossible than riding a bunch of floating reindeers.

“merry christmas, i guess?” taerae chuckled, still holding out a neatly wrapped present in both of his hands. the box’s red cover shone under the dim light above the two of you as he continued to encourage you in taking it from him.

you never expected anyone to give you a present, especially since you’ve never gotten one after your father passed away. “... what made you think of… doing that?” you shyly questioned his initial ideas about this as his eyes looked up at the ceiling, probably searching for an answer as he bit his bottom lip, his fingertips tapping across the sides of the box. “well… i saw the way you looked at chaehyun last week and i thought that maybe i could make your christmas a little better.”

“you didn’t have to-”

“oh, but i wanted to,” he butted in quickly, not letting you finish your way of denying the present as he even pushed it further, waiting for you to just take it. “and i really do want you to open this in front of me.”

“why? i mean, isn’t that weird? it’s the middle of the night,” you retaliated, making him chuckle as he didn’t seem convinced with your excuse. “... but if that makes you feel better, then i’ll do it.”

you had no other reason for you to not take the gift as the anticipation slowly grew in you, tearing off the wrapping paper from the box. carefully, you lifted its lid as taerae’s eyes were soon fixated on the way your eyes widened at what’s inside of it. — it had a clutch-sized teddy bear; perfectly sewn to fit in your arms without it having to feel either too big or too small as you put down the box on the floor, holding the stuffed animal closer to you.

"... so, how does he feel? how does mr. ted feel?" taerae's eyes glimmered in excitement, eager to know what you'd tell him about the teddy bear his own hands created. in return, you chuckled, tightening the way you hugged the toy. "he feels like christmas." you answered, smiling back at the boy in front of you as he stared at you with belief; with so much fondness that no one could ever explain in words.

"merry christmas, taerae."

and now, you're staring into the distance, disappointed at how messy your room is. it's been six years since you took that christmas gift. to this day, you still knew that specific christmas eve stood out from the rest.

because somebody actually thought of giving you at least one thing.

“mom, please, i don't really have the budget right now," you pleaded, gripping your phone tightly as you continued to still clean up your room. you're looking for something you could get money from. being a waitress at a local, small coffee shop is not quite the answer for situations like this. "... i'll call you back once i get paid, okay? i just have nothing at the moment."

while you're at seoul trying to survive in a shitty apartment, your family is left stuck with raging debts after your father died. — you could tell that it really wasn’t the best decision for him to not even give your mother a chance to work for the family; there was always an insecurity laying beneath his motifs.

and now, you don’t even know what to do. your mother had been asking you for extra cash and your sister had been switching odd jobs here and there. the most surprising thing was the fact that you were the “stable one” compared to the two.

it’s disheartening to think of it.

a waitress being the stable one in the family.

“... ah, shit.” you muttered a curse, burying your face in your still dirty, unwashed palms in frustration. you were your family’s only chance in surviving such a poor life.

heading towards the cabinets, you pulled out a few more boxes. it baffles you that you’ve been living here for two years already and you’ve never even finished arranging your belongings but that’s not so surprising. you didn’t even finish school.

as all of the packed, still taped up boxes were taken out, you decided to look into them with questions circling your head. — what are the ones that’ll make everyone interested? which ones would make up for your rent? so many questions, so little time.

but while you took a few things out of the box, you were suddenly hit with a blast from the past; like a gust of lonely wind.

he’s there.

mr. ted was still here with you.

you backed away from it, taking a better look at it from afar rather than too close. you could already feel your eyes itch just by seeing it, the allergies worsening the longer you stared at the now dusty, slightly gray care bear that used to be so full of life before.

but it all had to end someday.

and it already did.

"... huh…" you tilted your head to the side, pulling it from the box. you almost couldn't remember how you kept it there, let alone how long it stayed there. nonetheless, it was a pity that two people from a memorable, almost a decade of friendship would just fade to dust… just like the ones that covered the bear’s golden fur in years.

you asked yourself, was the choice you made the right one? was it for the better, just like how you told yourself, your other friends, and most importantly, him?

younger you would’ve stood by her choice.

but this is the present and you know that you’ve taken the wrong route.

puffing your cheeks out in frustration, you picked up your phone from the mattress of your bed, which felt so used and replaceable already but somehow, you couldn’t afford to change it. you’ve been sleeping on that bed since you were nine. people around you would advise that maybe spending a few cash wouldn’t hurt and sometimes, you thought they were right.

yet in the end of the day, you always tell yourself that you just can’t. — why? because you just had nothing. not even a shoulder to lean your head on. not anyone but yourself. and people with everything in their soft, soaped palms won’t get that! they can’t even bring themselves to realize that people like you are just trying to make living life feel a little less miserable.

now, you’re here.

you’re walking in circles, staring at nothing but the bright yet cracked screen of your old iPhone 5 as you read his name over and over while trying to come up with a choice. another choice that’d decide your fate.

‘kim taerae… kim taerae? can i talk to kim taerae?’ your inner voice was almost as monotone as ever as you found yourself still lost in the sea of choices again.

can you talk to kim taerae? that question can be answered easily: yes, you can. but here comes a much more difficult situation – should you talk to him after everything? you’re not even surprised that he has someone sitting next to him with a bright smile on her face, maybe as bright as his. an unfamiliar girl but an obvious message for you.

he’s moved on.

good for him, right?

“can you promise me something?” taerae spoke, the uncertainty was in his voice as he seemed to be fearing the next few things you were about to tell him. it disturbed you. it was the first time he’s ever sounded so serious about something.

something you’re not ready to find out. “friends will always keep each other’s promises,” you cluelessly said back, even smiling back at him so cheekily that taerae had a glimpse of hope. — that maybe everything will turn back to normal if things don’t go his way.

“i think i’m in love with you, y/n.”

you didn’t know what even was real and not. were these words really coming out of taerae’s mouth? did taerae, your best friend, just tell you that he thinks he’s in love with you?

and the first thing you asked yourself was how.

how did he even think that?

“i know it sounds crazy but,” taerae quickly gave an excuse for it as he approaches your hands with his, his thumb pressing against your soft palm. it almost convinced you into smiling back at him but all you did was stare, visibly terrified over what he just told you. “but it’s what i feel… it’s what i feel about you-”

“what?” you weren’t thinking straight that time. you weren’t sure if you liked him back or not but he was always important to you. always; to the point that you were scared of this happening as if you’d already expected it. “... i don’t get it, what do you mean?”

the second time you asked him, he just froze like radio static. your confusion started getting to him, haunting him with the single-worded response that he’d hate to hear from you – no.

“it’s nothing.”

“taerae, i-”

“let’s just,” taerae cuts you off, tightening the strap of his backpack as his eyes dared to never look back at you ever again, “let’s just forget about all of this, okay?”

well, you tried.

but that day kept on repeating in your head that it was impossible to not at least think about it and from the looks of it, he felt the same. the distance between the two of you was just getting farther and farther until you couldn’t even remember each other’s birthdays. yet at the same time, you were always in each other’s minds with one wish.

wishing to be called by the other once.

“taerae!” you shouted from the crowds and he barely even heard you. the rest of your classmates were waving goodbye at him, excited for him to take in the trophy after an international talent competition, where everybody expected him to take home at least one gold medal from it.

and there was another call… and another.

oh?

and another as you watched him get into the bus, not even looking back at your direction. you told yourself that maybe he just didn’t hear you. maybe your voice just wasn’t loud enough. — in the end, at least you tried to patch things up even though you had no clue that it was the last time you’d ever see taerae in person.

“hey, maybe i shouldn’t!” you blurted out in the middle of your room, breathing deeply as you just couldn’t control yourself from scrolling down his posts; by now, he’s gotten five golden medals from differently, yearly major vocal competitions overseas. you could never say it in words or a bunch of facebook posts how proud you are of him.

you wished you were there with him, helping him accomplish these goals he once had pinned down on a bulletin board from third grade. you wished that you were the one who sat next to him, giving him a pep talk before he came up that stage to steal the show from every other singer around.

you wished you’ve touched the skies that hovered above him.

but you were too far down.

forgotten.

“... oh, who am i kidding? he’s not gonna respond anyway. he’s too far up there now,” you told yourself, letting out a groan before jumping on your bed, torn between asking him how he’s been and just letting him live his new life; the life where you never existed at all. “god, this is all my fault…” regret was starting to take over again. it was like you couldn’t call a normal day “normal” if you hadn’t considered regretting anything.

you could tell that your life was already a few steps away from being a complete failure… well, that was until you looked back at your phone.

widening your eyes, there was a flood of terror, humiliation, and regret (yet again) in our mind as several airy curses come out of your mouth. you weren’t sure if you should start throwing a fit or start planning in deleting your facebook account. — who uses facebook anymore these days, right? well… you.

and apparently, taerae as well.

“what the fuck? no!” you belted out as if you were a soprano, burying your face once again in your palms after seeing a blue thumb on one of taerae’s older posts.

great job, y/n.

you just liked his post after six years of not even mentioning each other’s names.

“why… why did i do that?" this was the moment where you actually wanted to dig a hole in the ground, live in there, and never ever come back. — and well, in the real world, you can’t really do anything as extreme as that, which isn’t as embarrassing as the fact that you just accidentally liked one of your ex-best friend’s posts from last year. “ugh… i just hope he ignores it… god, this is the worst.”

you took in a deep breath, letting out a mixture of both a groan and a sigh as you accepted your fate; he saw it… and god, why did he even respond?

and in just a span of ten minutes, that conversation ended. you knew deep inside that none of this was easy to take in. he’s already living his dream life, he’s got tons of people who’d support him no matter what, and he even has this perfect girlfriend who wanted to meet you for the sake of getting to know who taerae is… and who he used to be.

you clutched your phone close to your chest, laying on your back as you stared at the dull ceiling of your room. you wondered how your life turned into something like this. — why did the circumstances bring you down lower than before? why did it turn so different from taerae’s? what was holding you back?

even though you wouldn’t admit it, you always knew the answer.

and it was the fear of that big change that held you in your place.

“... maybe this is it,” you told yourself, sitting up from the bed as you stared at the dusty boxes that were still left unopened, “maybe it’s time for me to change things for the better.” saying those words felt like a foggy evening was clearing up as you took in one last deep breath, ready to face anything without having to look back.

this was it.

you’re ready for change.

zb1 as ontario universities + programs

yes this is an incredibly niche topic but this has now become my chosen coping mechanism for uni decisions

sung hanbin - queens health science

such a pretty campus

a lot of historic buildings and freshly manicured lawns that i think would fit hanbin perfectly

and like imagine him with soft academia

it’s just a really nice school and its health sci program is one of the best in ontario

like it’s very neutral good

and he feels like he would make a really good doctor, like pov sung hanbin is your family doctor LMFAO

and like i think he’d do a great job, probably has the prettiest notes and always does his part during group projects

zhang hao - queens commerce

ofc i had to keep haobin together

but dw neither is sacrificing their education for the other person (remember kids the only person who can get you your degree is you)

queens commerce is also one of the best business schools in ontario

ik that zhang hao is a music kid but that felt like cheating so this is an alternative!

out of all of zb1 he feels like the most business type person?

like he’s so smart and always plans ahead

so i feel like he could be successful in anything he tried but especially business because it’s so lucrative and opens the door to so many paths

like hanbin i think he suits the clean and historic school vibes

they both have a very curated?? for lack of better word image and i think they’d look like they were in a photoshoot every time they step out on campus

park gunwook - uoft criminology, law and society

university of toronto!!

i’m just saying, debate is literally the gateway to law

and i’d be willing to bet that he has done or considered mock trial so i think this would fit super well

he knows a lot about history and philosophy, so i can see him being interested in studying a humanity

in canada, you need to get a bachelors before going to law school, so a lot of people do something related

this is basically as good as you can get

i also think gunwook would do well in uoft

it can be a kind of isolating experience because the school is so big and a lot of people commute so there isn’t much of a social scene

but as the resident social butterfly, i feel like gunwook would be able to establish a good circle

and also i think he would like the energy of the city

there’s always something to do and both city hall and parliament are literally right next to the campus

alternatively, i considered university of ottawa, which is good for its social science since you know, it’s literally in the capital city of canada so its law program is really good

but honestly there’s not much undergrad wise

i could see him going for graduate school though

i don’t know lawyer gunwook just feels right

he’s good at making decisions, works well under pressure, has the fundamentals down, and is a hard worker so i can definitely see him making it into law school

kim taerae - waterloo computer science

i know that taerae isn’t that genre of nerd

but the glasses

like you can’t tell me he wouldn’t go to the most loser of all loser schools in ontario

(btw waterloo is not bad, it’s actually really good for engineering and comp sci but also everybody there has no life hence the loser allegations)

(also because if you do eng or comp sci you are inherently a loser i’m so sorry pls continue to run tumblr though)

but yeah i can definitely see him doing comp sci maybe like ui ux stuff

actually the more i think about it the more it makes sense for me

he’s also the only thinking (mbti) in zb1 and his fashion sense would fit in perfectly with the rest of the department

seok matthew - mcmaster nursing

like hanbin, i really do see him doing something healthcare related

mcmaster is second for nursing, after uoft, but i don’t think matthew would like toronto as much

from what i’ve heard, vancouver is a lot greener, more laid back, and hiking culture is big there

toronto kind of offers none of that, with the addition of pretty bad air quality comparatively (still pretty good though because canada’s pretty sparsely populated)

mcmaster though is in a smaller town that’s essentially just a university town and also has a trail literally right on campus

it’s a smaller, more tight knit community and nursing is a pretty small program so it’d be even closer

i think he would have a really good time with mcmaster’s social scene

it’s also right by lake ontario and has pretty decent weather

ricky shen - uoft rotman

another business student, are we surprised?

i also considered art but our only really good art school is ocad and as far as i know it doesn’t focus on traditional art as much

so anyways mr young and rich tall and handsome is going to go the business route

uoft is really international student friendly, mostly because they accept a lot of international students and because toronto is also pretty diverse

like you can truly get any type of cuisine here and we have a really big asian population too

so as a person who also immigrated here, i’d say it’s not a terrible transition

definitely the most diverse of any of the ontario schools

once again, the social life at uoft is not great but usually the business schools are better

han yujin - still in high school

han yujin - university of guelph kinesiology

since yujin’s currently studying dance at his school, i thought that kinesiology would be a good fit

for those who don’t know, it’s essentially like sports science?? or studying the way people move and so forth

he also plays soccer and just gives off like sporty vibes?

like the quiet kid who is surprisingly the fastest on the team

once again, uoft is technically the best for this, but it’s kind of a scary place to go into alone so i can see yujin choosing a quieter school

i’d say guelph is even more closely knit than mcmaster by virtue of it being a smaller city and a smaller school

they have a solid health science program though and good student support too, which i think he’d benefit from

kim jiwoong - uoft english literature

i know that he is an actor

and i considered having him go the performing arts route

however, i know nothing about those schools and once again i think it’d be too easy

so to make my life harder, instead of having jiwoong perform shakespeare plays, i’m making him read and analyze them instead

he gives off like that one english teacher you had who changed your life and helped you rekindle your love of reading after your gifted burnout yknow

but yeah i see him going into english lit to go be a teacher

and uoft would be perfect for that because it not only has i believe one of the largest libraries in north america, but also a really big teachers college once he’s done getting his bachelors

he also seems like he would be able to fit in in any environment, so i don’t see uoft’s size or atmosphere being a problem for him

kim gyuvin - toronto metropolitan university performance: acting

i saved the best for last

ik i literally just said that i wasn’t going to do performing arts for jiwoong but this is different

something about his performance during the musical segment of boys planet changed the way i viewed him forever

like??????? how is he that good for like the most random challenge ever

i think he’d be really good at acting seriously so anyways!

also tmu (formerly known as ryerson) is just a very fun vibe

it’s in the more downtown area of toronto compared to uoft and right by the entertainment district

the nightlife is so good and gyuvin would probably be the life of the party

tmu’s also like uoft’s funkier younger cousin so i think that fits his vibe well

2:11 am, it was cold and rainy surprisingly in the summer. I felt everything crushing down on me. If it was work, family, scandals? It was just too much, I and lots of others are not machines, we cannot do everything perfectly like they want us to. But the only thing I can do is smile and act as if nothing has ever happened, Even if I try there will be so many shits that I don't want other's to handle because of me.

So here I am, finding it amusing how such a big tourist attraction could feel so empty for once. But damn FOR ONCE MAN thank you rain! It was nice taking all that fresh air in, feeling the warm breeze hitting my skin was not too fun but hey it is the summer, unless you live in the UK or something.

I was just minding my own business until, I saw this dude coming closer to where I was. His hair was messy, kinda looked like he just got up from a nightmare, Yikes. But I couldn't see his face, he was wearing a mask. '....masks of course, the people with the hottest hair always wear a mask.' I thought to myself 'How am I supposed to know if you're really hot or not..'

'Should I go talk to him?' 'No chae miyeon, privacy.' I slapped myself to reality. But I think it was kinda too loud considering how he suddenly turned his head my direction. 'great. JUST GREAT.' All those thoughts were gone as soon as I heard a tired voice saying; "Are you okay?" I tilted my head up to looked at him 'SHIT. what am I supposed to reply with. Yea yea I'm fine, no you looked like you fell down from heaven itself. okay.... why was that even an option.'

If I'm being honest, His hand was huge. Would probably have me flying from one slap with that hand. But then I looked back to what he said was his name, Kim Taerae. I looked up to meet his covered face. Gorgeous eyes babes. But the hair, face shaped and hand. did match the description of the ZB1 Kim Taerae.

Eyes widened when I come back to my senses that this gorgeous looking dude right here, who still has my hand in his. Could actually be Kim Taerae Zerobaseone.. I took my hand away " I should probably get going..." "It was nice meeting you." I said quickly before running to my car. yes I drove here...

The first to discover Yujin's secret was Gunwook. I mean it didn't really take much. He had stayed home similarly to Gyuvin and Yujin. It just so happened the walls in the dorm weren't very soundproof and he could overhear the younger member's laughter.

Gunwook knew he would have to put a pin in that and use that knowledge later on. He always tried to be careful and smart about all his actions and this was no exception.

The day he decided to pull out the card was on a day him and Yujin got off from school (they went to the same school now), while the hyungs were out busy with some sort of schedules that they had to do at a later date.

"You know Jinnie, I know your secret." Gunwook blurted out while they sat on the couch watching some show together.

Yujin wide eyed looked over at Gunwook "Secret? What secret?" He was confused but also worried. Could Gunwook be referring to... that?

"That you're extremely ticklish." YEP it was in fact that.

"W-what gave you that idea?" Yujin attempted to play it off cool, he knew he wasn't doing a good job at that.

"I overheard Gyuvin hyung tickling you not that long ago, after we played twenty questions." Gunwook said nonchalantly. Despite his act though Gunwook was ready to pounce on Yujin any second now. He wanted to be a good hyung to Yujin.

Growing up Gunwook was the younger one in his family, he had been on a handful of occasions tickled by his older brother. Gunwook saw it fitting to take a page out of his own brother's book and do the same to the younger boy.

"Dunno what you're talking about." Yujin cleared his throat, "I'm not ticklish." He leaned back into the couch stiff as a board, on edge in case Gunwook tried anything.

"Really? Maybe I was wrong." Gunwook pretended to brush it off before pouncing on top of Yujin. "Just kidding!" He had a big grin on his face as he easily pinned Yujin down.

"Hyuuuung come oooon..." The younger whined trying to wrestle against the older boy.

Gunwook giggled softly at the younger's attempts to escape. "What Jinnie," he smirked as he scribbled his fingers on his stomach, “You seem scared~"

"NOHoHOo!" Yujin squirmed trying to kick Gunwook off him but it was proving difficult.

"Cmon Yujinnie surely you're not thaaaat ticklish~" Gunwook teased. Honestly before Gunwook was rather nervous about being Yujin's hyung but now they he had actually had time to settle into the title, he was having a blast with it.

I mean now he had someone he could tease. With that, he slipped his finger into the younger's naval, wiggling the finger around. "NAHAHAH IHIHIHITS SOHOHO BAHAHAD!" Yujin squeaked out.

"Ohhh well that's what happens when you lie to your hyung and try to keep things from him!" Gunwook grinned as he leaned down, lifting up the boys shirt enough so it was exposed to him.

"Hey Jinnie do you know what my favorite fruit is?"

Yujin furrowed his eyebrows, quickly he realized what Gunwook was referring to. "NOHO HYUHUNG DOHOHO-" His protests were cut off as Gunwook leaned down and blew raspberries all over the poor boy's stomach.

"PLEHEHEHEASE NAHAHAH-" Yujin cackled his whole body shaking with laughter. Gunwook just continued though, loving hearing the younger's loud laughter. "IHIHIHI CAHAHAHANT-"

"Why not Jinnie? Do you not like raspberries? They are such a good and healthy fruit though!" Faking innocence Gunwook squeezed at Yujin's hips, causing the younger to buck his hips and kick his feet out. "NAHAHAT THEHEHERE!" He squealed

"Aww why not? Too ticklish?" Gunwook chuckled leaning down, inhaling a long breathe of air before blowing a long raspberry on Yujin's stomach once more.

"NAHAHA-" Yujin's laughter turned silent as he softly hiccuped. Gunwook took that as his queue to stop and let the younger go.

"Ticklish aren't ya? I don't know how you planned on trying to keep that a secret." He rubbed at Yujin's stomach to help ease the phantom tickles.

Jiwoong was the second to discover. The two often hung out despite their age difference. Mostly because Jiwoong looked at Yujin the same as his younger brother, they were basically the same age anyways so it came naturally.

He felt like he had a duty to take care of Yujin make sure he had meals and was keeping up on his schoolwork regardless of their busy schedules.

In turn of that, it was exactly how Jiwoong discovered it. While helping Yujin with his homework. "Hyung I just don't understand the problem." He huffed staring at the math sheet. Algebra was just too hard.

Jiwoong leaned over to look at Yujin's work, his hair brushing against Yujin's neck causing the younger to flinch. The older noticed the reaction but kept quiet, looking at the sheet. "Don't worry Yujinnie your hyung's got you!"

He kept the position and wrote out the problem explaining step by step how Yujin would be able to get the answer. While it seemed like the younger kept flinching from his hair brushing against his neck. Jiwoong could tell what was going on and it only made him smile.

"How about we take a little mental break, you seem a little distracted anyways~" He couldn't help but tease the younger. Yujin blushing slightly as he nodded "Yeah sounds good."

He began to stretch in his chair, bringing his arms up to really get a nice stretch. Jiwoong saw this as his golden opportunity, moving his hands to quickly squeeze at Yujin's underarms.

"ACK-" Yujin yelped loudly slamming his arms back down to his sides. "HYUHUHUNG!?" He questioned confused. The last thing he had expected was for Jiwoong to actually tickle him...

Jiwoong smiled softly chuckling at Yujin's reaction "What? Did you think I didn't notice how ticklish you are? This is the perfect way to free your mind anyways!"

Blush spread over Yujin's cheeks, he thought he was hiding it well but now the amount of people who knew his secret was only increasing...

The older took this time to dig his fingers in more at the spot, causing Yujin to sit up and try to escape the torture. "Nah ah, no can do Jinnie." As Yujin was slipping away, Jiwoong grabbed the younger by his ribs and started tasering his fingers inbetween each rib.

"NOHO COHohOMe OHOn!" His legs wobbled, his body giving out on him. Jiwoong noticed and laughed pulling the younger closer to help stabilize him. "Better get used to this kinda stuff Yujinnie, the more people find out the more they will want to see the cute smile of our cute maknae~"

It was true, everyone loved seeing their youngest smile. If anything this would be even more of a reason to tickle him.

Matthew and Taerae. They had learned from Jiwoong, randomly it got brought up in conversation and Matthew and Taerae hadn't forgotten about it.

The group was staying a hotel due to some schedule that required them too far away from their dorms and company. It just so happened that Matthew, Taerae, and Yujin were staying in a hotel room together.

After a day exploring the city's sights and indulging in delicious meals, the tired trio went to their hotel room. Yujin had immediately jumped into bed, getting comfortable while watching the tv.

It was at this time Matthew came up with the idea of them tickling Yujin. Out of sight from Yujin, Matthew whispered to Taerae the plan. They would come in from both sides and sandwich Yujin in between them.

Grinning mischievously, they walked towards the bed where Yujin was already all snuggled up in the middle. Matthew lying down on the younger's right and Taerae on the left.

"Watcha watching Yujinnie?" Taerae asked as he wrapped an arm lazily around the younger's back.

"Just some kdrama that's on." He replied not noticing anything odd about the two's behavior. Though, he really should have.

"Yeah?" Matthew wrapped his arm around Yujin as well, casually trapping the younger between them. Yujin didn't even notice until he felt poking at his sides.

"H-Huh?" He gasped a confused look on his face, Matthew and Taerae were poking his sides...

Matthew grinned "What's the matter?" acting as if he wasn't doing anything at all in the first place. Taerae took this chance while Yujin was focused on Matthew to scribbling his fingers up Yujin's side.

"AcK- HYuhuhung-" He giggled squirming away from Taerae's hand, with that Matthew took the opportunity to do the same as Taerae. So while Yujin tried to escape by leaning closer to Matthew he ultimately was just leaning into more tickles.

"WHAhAt- NOho-" Yujin's squirming had started and yet all it did was make one side worse and then when he tried to lessen that side the other ended up getting worse.

It was truly a lose lose situation. "THihiS IHIhisn't FahahaIR!" He yelped as Taerae moved one hand to spider up Yujin's back, causing the younger to arch his back.

Taerae chuckled "I think it's pretty fair, we get to hear you laugh which is the best gift we could ask for!"

Matthew nodded in agreement "Exactly Yujinnie! We need a little energy boost after the tiring day we just had!"

Yujin shook his head in disagreement "IHiHIt DoHOhohoesn't EhEHehenergize MEHEHE!"

"Oh wellll~" Matthew teased taking the time to flutter his finger's over Yujin's neck, the boy scrunching up his neck in turn.

This was borderline worse than Gyuvin and Gunwook were with him... "Hyuhuhung's coHOHome Ohon-" he jerked towards Taerae as Matthew started squeezing his side rapidly, eliciting a snort from him.

Taerae grinned and started doing the same. Even with the both of them doing the same things the way they did it was different. Their speeds weren't the same and it was driving Yujin mad.

"KNoHOhoCK IHIHIT OHOhohoff-"

Hanbin the leader wasn't actually the last to know he was just the last one to show off his knowledge. As the leader he was pretty observant over each and every one of his members. Yujin especially as the youngest.

He'd be lying to say he didn't notice how some of the other members were more prone to poking the youngest in the side or blowing air on his ears to get him to jolt. It was plain obvious that everyone knew now.

It was also plain obvious that today Yujin had been exhausted from practice. Hanbin knew just the way to approach him as well. Walking into Yujin's room, it empty besides the young boy sprawled out on his bed.

"You seem extra tired today baby.." Hanbin came closer to the bed and sat down. "Do you want hyung to give you a special massage? You seem a little tense."

The younger looked up from the bed and nodded his head. "Yes please hyung... thank you." The answer put a soft smile on Hanbin's face. So if the massage was a little bit tickly that was something he could keep to himself.

It wasn't like he would be like the other's... at least not right now the future perhaps, but right now he wanted to give him the softest most relaxing tickles possible.

So, Hanbin sat up on the bed. He started off with an actual massage making sure to be gentle but firm to roll out all the knots in the younger's body.

Slowly Hanbin's massage started with gentle fluttering fingers at Yujin's side. "Don't be alarmed Jinnie." He warned the youngest of his plans. He didn't want anything to be unpleasant for him anyways.

To Hanbin's surprise, Yujin actually accepted it pretty quickly. Soft giggles flowing, slightly muffled from his face buried in his arms. If Hanbin could see his face he'd realize just how red it was.

"You did such a good job today Jinnie. You deserve to relax and laugh a little bit... you're so young and have so much pressure on your shoulders." Hanbin hummed as he lightly scribbled at Yujin's back, causing the other to squirm a tiny bit.

Even though Yujin was embarrassed that he was happily accepting the tickles, he still felt a lot more relaxed. "Thahank yohou Hanbihin hyung." He mumbled in his arms.

Hanbin smiled "Anytime you need Yujinnie," he skittered his fingers up the younger's back and to his neck, "never hesitate to come seek me out when you're stressed."

Yujin smiled at that, happy to hear those words from the older. He was really glad he had all his members by his side, no matter what. Even the ones he didn't know well prior to boys planet, they managed to hold a special place in his heart quickly.

Nothing would be more exciting then spending the next two and a half years with them, hopefully more.

Zerobaseone mythology concept

Well, this our second part. I already did our first part on zb1 members (Hyung line) as Greek gods and goddess in case of a Greek mythology concept which I hope is gonna happen.

Disclaimer ! I am basing this from my memories of my class on greek iconography and not of work adapted from it. And i am not going to talk about everything that is SA, abuse and violence the gods are surronded with and created. I am not going to do a whole class on greek mythology so good luck. Its also my opinion. And I am not pretending to know everything, I may even be wrong.

Here is our second and final part : Maknae line : (Below the cut)

Gunwook as Athena

Athena is one of the 12 olympians. She was not born from Kronos and eaten by him but is actually a daughter of Zeus. She is the godess of widsom and of strategic war. Even if she is the godess of widsom she still as little moments of anger we will say (Arachnée as well as Medusa). She is one of the godess that is a virgin and never take a husband.

What you have to remember with Athena is her widsom, she is someone with a vision. In a case of a war there is two people that will be needed : Ares (which more of the brutal force) and Athena which will focus more on the strategic parts of a battle. If Athena takes part in a battle actively you know that normally it will be done fair and square. She respects the rules.

In her iconography Athena is represented as a warrior godess. She has an armor, an helmet as well as a shield. And what allows one to identify her no matter what is the presence of the aegis (égide in french) as well as the decapitated head of Medusa.

But mostly one is able to identify her with her warrior like appaerance with her helmet, armor and shield.

Now concerning Gunwook I feel like the link is quite obvious.

Gunwook is brilliant. He is the top student, class president, and we saw with the Kill this love stage that he has a strategic mind as well as a vision. He is able to understand the strenght of everyone around him and then put it together to build a strategy.

We could expect something that is truly giving a warrior vibe, with the helmet, shield and those two symbols of Athena with the aegis and the decapitated head. Even if they will go with a softer version.

Ricky as Dyonisius

This one is kinda confirmed as well lol.

Dyonisius is in most version the son of Zeus, some say that he died and then his father made him become a god because of the affection he had for him. Or in other versions he is an human that was transformed into a god because he was the one that invented the wine and gods liked wine.

Dyonisus is the god of wine, fertility of the soils, theater and party. In his iconographic representations he is always represented with the thyrse (it’s a kind of stick with a pine cone on it), some grape vine and he also has a company of many exotic animals as well as satyr and nymphs.

Why putting them together ? I feel like ricky is actually a very extroverted person and the life of the party. Like I totally imagine going up to someone first and just try to be funny ? If he wasn’t an idol I just know the guy would be partying like crazy in clubs worldwide wise lol

I feel like we definitely can expect some good references such as party crowded scene, having a cup in a hand. I doubt they will represent him with lots of girlies around tho.

Gyuvin as Hestia

Hestia might be one of the most underrated goddess out here while she is so important.

Hestia is the oldest Olympian. The first one that Kronos ate. She is one of the virgin goddess as well as a member of the twelve Olympians.

She is the goddess of home, the hearth (fire pit of the sacred fire), domesticity and family. She was the guardian of the sacred fire (hearth) and was essential to the Greek mythology rites.

She is a very quiet goddess and is rarely talked about and represented even though she was central character and extremely important.

In every city there was the hearth, for her, and for every sacrifice she was the first goddess that was received them.

Hestia is very important because throughout the time the notion family was essential and central, the clan you came from truly mattered in society as well as where you belonged.

In her rare representations she is standing up, with a vieil over head, with a strict expression close to a fire.

Why Gyuvin as Hestia ? Because for me Gyuvin represents home. He is able to make everyone feels at ease. He is central and everyone seem to fly close to him. He is a part of what ties all the members together. I feel like the hugs he gives make you feel at home.

I’m seeing something definitely with warm tones, little fire like summer camp type of fire, as there is not that much representation on her I really want them to make him feel like home. Lots of warm colors, smiles, lemonade and cute little snacks. Just home.

Yujin as Ares

Okay so I can already feel the complains from here but hear me out.

Ares is the god of war. Like the violent one, the bloody ones. And often people only remember him as that. The violent god.

But he was way more than that. He an olympian that never raped anyone. He killed without hesitation his daughter rapist. He was as well the protector of cities, the god of courage as well as the god of masculinity.

He was a protector of women. One of the very few people that Aphrodite ever truly loved. He was globally a big softie and that can be seen in the way he is portrayed in his representations. He was also a very good defender of gay love and gay representations.

In his iconography he is or despised as the god of war, with shield and weapons on as well as his armor . Or he is represented as the man that is enamoured of Aphrodite. He was a very handsome man and muscular.

Why am I putting Yujin as him then ? Because I feel like yes Yujin lives to be a menace because he is silly like that but he is also someone that seems to be very deep and well thought for his age. I totally imagine him taking the side of his girl schoolmates to watch over them. He is deeply loved and I totally can see him growing up to be an ally and truly supports and protect lgbtq people.

Representation wise I feel like if they put him in an armor with a sword he would be really happy so I want that only for him to be happy. In a more realistic tone I feel like it would be more discreet with like weapons on the floor and very pensive poses.

instead of not believing you when gyuvin and you dropped that bomb as believable as possible, they started cheering and congratulating you

"we knew this would happen eventually! finally!" you what. 😃

originally you planned on playing the prank for one day and then tell the truth- but by the way everybody started congratulating you (even a teacher exclaimed that she was happy for you!) you two couldn't help but feel incredibly bad at the end of the day

well, kind of unrequited? it was honestly hard to tell for sure. your crush sometimes acted like he was interested in you, on other days you didn't even exist to him

his mixed signals drove you CRAZY🥴

so out of pure desperation you asked gunwook for a small favor.. to please fake date you in order to make your crush jealous

AND REVEAL HIS TRUE FEELINGS!!!

gunwook was reluctant at first but he also had a small but secret crush on you so he took his chance and RAN

you had like an hour long talk to him about your great plan, about do's and don't's, about boundaries and what not

he was just silently listening and nodding his head whenever needed

(his heart shattering could be heard whenever you mentioned your real crush) 💔💔💔

you let your other close friends know about your plan too in hopes they will help to make it believable

han yujin - to prove that he is not a 'child'

poor yujin has to go through that 'youngest in the friendgroup' treatment 😪

everybody treats him like a baby and he feels as if he's not taken seriously by any of his friends

bro should probably try COMMUNICATING with them homies but oh well

and in his mind, the ultimate proof to not being a baby is having a significant other 👍🏻

and this is where you come in!!

you're one of the very few people who did not make fun of him- maybe because of your similar age- and that's why he felt save to propose that idea to you

and considering that you weren't taken all that seriously either due to your age… he was sure that you would understand where he was coming from!!

and to his delight you actually agreed to fake date him! 🤗

so after discussing everything further, you two announced your not-so-real relationship to your friends the very next day

YUJIN'S PLAN WORKED! there was gyuvin who dramatically whined about "his two babies growing up way too fast"

but the question now is… for how long should this keep going…?
