The TEA today about Ador Ceo was sad but not surprising. BTS is the story of betrayal by outsiders.

I was surprised when Tae worked with HER for his album. I didn't see that collaboration coming.

I have to wonder if she purposefully misled Tae into a "mid" album. Look, Layover isn't a bad album but its not a masterpiece regardless of what Tae solos believe.

The results are so different between albums like JITB, Astronaut, DDAY, Indigo, Face and Layover its crazy. The depth/personal experience reflected in those albums is undeniable while Tae's was all surface.

Golden is departure and its own thing. JK went for global popstar and achieved/ate!! His choreo reflected his status as part of 3J and his vocals were on display. Gorgeous!!! (Had to add that in because in this house we don't leave out members)

I feel bad for Tae today realizing he worked with a traitor. I will always wonder what he could have released if he had just worked with the Bighit team instead of Ador Ceo.

Sooo... what are you thinking about this inter-hybe conflict between belift and ador? I know you're a nj fan but I think I've also heard you say that people are too quick to call things a nj copy, so I'm curious what you think about mhj's claims. I'll be honest that I thought that what I've seen so far seemed kind of unhinged-main-character syndrome to me but I also don't follow these groups and don't know how deep this goes. Certainly, I think mhj has been very deliberate and successful in building nj's brand, but I found this public argument unnecessary and potentially damaging to both groups. What kind of fallout do you expect?

There's really nothing to say... yet.

News leaked that HYBE has leveled some allegations and accusations at ADOR, most likely based on a tip off, and launched an audit to ascertain if these allegations are true - in HYBE's statement confirming the audit, they don't name the people accused, but the news leak makes a point to name Min Heejin specifically, keeping the name of the VP who is accused of committing the acts unknown.

Min Heejin has responded in an exclusive interview and statement by ADOR, that she's innocent of most of the accusations and that this dispute started because HYBE has refused to curb inter-label plagiarism of her ideas with NewJeans. She refers specifically to Be:lift's new girl group Illit, noting how everything from choreography to visuals to styling to sound is based on her ideas, without proper attribution to her from Belift, nor an apology for what she calls blatant theft of concepts she's developing at ADOR. She accuses Bang PD of being complicit and prioritizing short-term profit over long-term viability of the new groups he's pushing out.

There are reports (unconfirmed) that HYBE has called for Min Heejin to resign. If ADOR doesn't call for a shareholder meeting by tomorrow, HYBE has indicated they might sue. The fact the meeting is being called before the audit is concluded, has all the hallmarks of a textbook corporate power play move, and implies to me something else than what I'm seeing most people here allude to. But still...

...there's nothing to say because what we're seeing is the middle innings of a power play game. There's simply too little info to make any decisive statements.

I immediately get a headache whenever things like this happen in k-pop because, even for more innocuous subjects, there's nobody more mind rotted than the average k-pop stan. And before long we'll have people whose only experience with executive/corporate power struggles is watching Succession, giving us endless takes in endless discourse. And this particular discourse is going to be more annoying because (1) Min Heejin is a woman who is already widely disliked, (2) There's an overwhelming amount of intersectional motives and interests both within and outside HYBE given the nature of the dispute, which typically leads to people infusing moral language into the discussion. It's going to be the HYBE-Kakao-SM discourse on steroids (and even in the HYBE vs SM drama, we had far more information to go on that what's available in this case).

I mean... Anon 3, you're already convinced this is a story of "betrayal", and claiming she is a "traitor", and you're tying a corporate power struggle to BTS. Not like I'd expect to see anything less from most other people to be honest.

This is really a dispute between Min Heejin and Kim Taeho (Belift's CEO), with increased grievance due to Taeho supposedly enjoying Bang PD and Park Jiwon's support and Heejin, supposedly, not.

The fallout, predictably, is going to be nasty. Given all the above. NewJeans is slated to have a comeback next month, Illit is only just ramping down debut activities while ENHYPEN is just starting the final leg of their FATE+ tour. If HYBE is indeed demanding MHJ resign, it's likely they only mean for her to resign from the CEO role but remain as the Creative Director of NewJeans - because the reality is that if there is no MHJ, there is no NewJeans. And it's that reality that in my view, is the primary leverage MHJ has. And she doesn't strike me as the sort to bluff. The worst case scenario is she leaves HYBE completely and NewJeans is put on hiatus, or the members sue to break their contracts with HYBE to follow her while she courts outside investors, similar to the Fifty Fifty situation.

Inter-label competition and drama is expected in a company like HYBE, it's wonderful because it can yield truly incredible results and unique approaches, but also potentally horrible because it can result in cases like MHJ's vs HYBE. There are ways to properly manage this competition to prevent the latter case, but I can't say I've seen any indication that with Jiwon nor Bang have done so. I said above that MHJ leaving HYBE completely is the worst case scenario for NewJeans, but it looks like the scenario most preferable for certain parties given it's one of the only viable outcomes from having this news broken this way. And so, most likely to happen. Unless Bang PD develops some hitherto unseen business acumen... so yeah I'm not holding my breath.

I have nothing insightful to add. My opinions about the suits at HYBE and Bang PD's business decisions for the last 2 years have skewed mostly negative, and that's not changed in this case. I'd rather not share my full opinions because I feel they run contrary to the dominant talking points here, and partly because they're not fully formed and nobody here is paying me to fully develop a view. I'm really not going to do that work for free.

We're all just going to have to wait and see.

What I will say though and something I find particularly interesting, is that HYBE has been accused of what Min Heejin is alleging, since at least the start of last year. Also, Belift in particular has been accused of plagiarism since the start of the year, twice, on issues unrelated to NewJeans. The first was when 'mobiius_music', an indie music producer on Instagram, accused them of lifting his music almost bar for bar for ENHYPEN's 2023 GDA dance break. The second was when Kelley Sweeney, an American choreographer who shares her routines on Instagram and tiktok, accused Belift of using her choreography for Illit's pre-debut practice without credit. Both times it was for low-level offences as it wasn't related to official music releases or album content, and so in that way Belift is better than bigger and more known agencies, but it still reflects a lax vetting process in the best case and unethical creative practices in the worst.

Anyway, my concern is for the artists involved while the suits try to play god with their careers. I can only hope that whatever happens is only the best possible outcome for all involved.

A trip which you were not fond of. I mean you loved going on trips but not with them because last time when guys went to watch summer festival that was pretty far from Seoul, cops pulled you guys over and instead of the summer festival you guys ended up sleeping at the police station.

They insisted on going with you which you agreed but you ended up in the back seat with Jake. You hated the back seat. It had no window buttons to control, no cup holder basically the boring seat of the car and there was Jay who was driving, Jungwon giving directions and the rest of them in the seat in front of you guys, barely even paying attention because they were too busy talking about games.

You were concerned because usually Jake was not that quiet. Especially when they are talking about games, he would not miss it. You took a glance only to see him looking a little pale and his cold sweats breaking.

"Jake, are you okay?" You placed your hand on his cheeks stroking it gently while your other hand flew to his forehead to check his temperature.

"Yea, I'm fine just a little tired" He gave you a weak smile and you know he was lying. He was getting motion sick. You panicked when he forcefully shut his eyes while having a nausea.

"Jay, could you please pull up to the nearest pharmacy as soon as possible?" You asked him but he was too invested in the conversation he was having with Jungwon while the other's were too busy laughing about something.

"Fuck" You forced your way to the seat in front of you so that you could open the windows. Grabbing your bags were the first thing you did before sitting back.

"Y/n, it's fine.." You threw your bags aside because you found nothing expect for few lip glosses and some useless stuffs. You remembered a few things that your mother would do when she gets sick on the road. You told him to lean his head against the headrest which he did.

Grabbing a carbonated drink that was in the cup holder between Heeseung and Sunoo, they did not seem to notice at all. He raised his hand weakly and took the drink in his hand before drinking it.

It seemed to have helped when he finally took a big breath and leaned his head against your shoulder. Your hand automatically flew to his face and stroked it.

After a few minutes he looked way better and was even singing along to songs. You were glad that he was fine.

"Y/N" He looked at you and held your face while his other hand put your hair strands behind your ear.

"Thank you, if it wasn't for you I could've died" you chuckled at his dramatic words when he closed the gap between you two and pecked your lips before going back to the conversation he had with the boys.

Maybe the trip that you had forcefully agreed was not that bad after all. Expect for the fact that the cops pulled you guys over once again.

The class door slides open slowly, there goes a girl looking around the classroom before eyes sticking onto a guy sitting on a chair, table being pushed off and tumbled over. He is crying with face being covered with his face, he weeps almost silently. Her eyes on him, her index finger taps on her lap once. Twice. Then trice. Though curious, the girl hesitantly step into the almost emptied classrom, walking towards the male student. She stops in front of the male, lightly tap on his shoulder. That alerts the male's attention to look up with swollen eyes and red nose, but the female did not mind much, as she picks his chin for her to move her face closer to him. She stares at him, she tilts her face.

"Do you want to kiss me?"

She said it so emotionlessly, eyes stays as if lifeless, she waits for her answer, yet got a reply of widely open eyes and an annoyed rejection of head snapping to the side to remove her fingers off his chin.

She didn't mind that too, eyes stay staring at his side profile. Didn't say much, she forcefully pulls his chin back and instantly have her lips onto his with her eyes closed.

They kissed.

He was shocked with eyes open widely, yet made no backing off.

It is only a few seconds later she backs off. Her hands then got to the back as she smiles sweetly, rotating her body clockwise and anti-clockwise.

"So, did you momentarily forget what you are crying about?"

Though she didn't get to hear his voice, she let him be, thinking about the kiss and his answer to her question as she left after a moment.

Stepped out of the classroom, she holds onto the door handle, she paused for a moment before sliding it close. Finally, she gets to breathe out. Her index finger to her lip, her eyes swims around for a short while, before walking off the classroom door.

On a particular morning is her school day. She walks along with the rest of her schoolmates, ears wearing a headset listening to music, when she got a faint voice of someone calling her. She takes off and turns back, seeing her friend happily waving and greeting her morning. She smiles back sweetly and start walking with her towards the school building, happily chit-chatting random topics. She laughs as she switch her sight to see the same male students walking towards her direction. Her eyes following him for a while, but made no reaction to greet him nor know his existence, as she continues talking to her friend into her classroom, to her seat.

Everything is up to normal, even after school when she walks out alone to see a familiar car parked at the entrance of the school gate. She walks towards it, hand touching the door handle when she stops. She bends down, seeing the driver, and something clicks inside her and she is filled with anger. Removing her hand, she decided to walk home today.

Walking around the car, she spots the same male student walks alone after waving his friends goodbye, before walking the different direction of his friends.

She tilts her head.

Looks like he is fine now, she thought. Then start walking along the side of the road. Reaching a 24 7 mart, she gets in, buying herself a chooclate milk, when she heard the door bell rings. She looks by the side, taking one by her hand. Looking at the milk bottle on her hand, she eye up at the section before taking another and buy for two.

She steps out and gaze at the male student that sits outside. Throwing the bottle up and down, she puts the bottle in front of him.

"Welcome."

She softly smile before turning her back to him and walks off, twisting the cap open for a sip for herself.

Stepping into her home, she heard screamings from her mum, and scoldings from her dad, yet she feels lifeless of it as she experienced this moment too many times of her life since as a baby.

She mentally covers up the voices and enters her room, throwing her bad and herself onto her bed. She turns her head, seeing a photograph on her table, she smiles.

I miss you, she thought while looking at the photo.

Once again, she met him the third time of this month. Their sports class clashed, and soon their classes share the same indoor hall. Her class is playing dodgeball, his class is playing captain's ball. He actively plays, she have to sit out since she has weak bones and heart. Her eyes stares on her class, but sometimes staring at his class, finding the male student to look at her. He got caught, he looks away shyly.

She caught him eyeing at her, yet made no reaction to be awkward and looks back at her class.

Both sports class ends, the next teacher allows them to wash up and change themselves before returning to the class to prepare for the next lesson. She watches her friend waves at her, she smiles, before seeing her friend running to reach her friends into the bathroom.

"Kim Haneul,"

She turns her head hearing her name called out by an unknown voice, to see that it is the male student. She emotionlessly look at him, waiting for him to say something. "Why?"

Though not sure what is he expecting to hear, she pressed her lips into a thin line and start swinging her legs at once to stand on her feet, turning to face him. "Don't go home tonight."

With that, she turns around, never let him say anything and walks off, wanting to be away from him although her friend definitely is not done with showering.

She only takes a few steps, but got turned around by a pull of a hand on her shoulder to face the male student again.

"Who are you?"

She glance at his face, then looks down. She breathes in and looks up, smiling.

"You can find out. I'm sure about it." She takes a few steps closer to him. "Goodnight."

She gives her one last smile of the day before officially walking off, smiles dropping to return to her emotionless face.

She steps out of the hall and leans against the wall, eyes staring on the ground. She cups her face, unconsciously smiling, and mind replaying the scene with her and him. She then replays the moment the second time, but frowns.

"Don't go home tonight... huh...?" She clicks her tongue and pushes herself off the wall and walks away.

The male student stands in front of his house yet made no intention of going in his house. Maybe thinking of something, he takes a step back and walks the opposide direction of how he came.

He walks in the 24 7 mart, and then seconds later he heard the door bell rings. He reaches out for a particular drink and went for the counter, paying it and sit outside of the table and chairs, consuming the drink.

The door swings open again, and she walks out of the 24 7 mart and place a different drink on the table.

"Someone needs it." She said, smiling, before walking off.

Though the boy is petrified of the sudden Haneul's appearance, he looks at the drink that she gave, seems to be staring at it for long before taking it on his hands.

He then steps in his house.

Running footsteps, towards his house, followed by grass patch stepping sounds, and it stops.

"What is that?" A stern male voice sounds out.

"A drink, given from someone." His voice sounds out.

A sound of rocks being stepped sounded almost so quietly.

A body corpse by the side, bleeding. The older male snatches over his drink on hand and drinks it.

"Unfilial son slowly becoming close to me huh? Giving me my favourite drink." The older male empties it and throws the emptied bottle to the younger male.

Suddenly, the older male drops onto the ground, body being blocked by the coach but head still being openly revealed, the older male's face disgustingly shows fear, mouth puking out white bubbles. Soon, the eyes of the older male stays open, and it stops struggling.

The male student is shocked, forced himself to step back, but looks down at the emptied bottle on the ground. He looks around, taking his time. He stops at somewhere that can't be seen, he smiles with a great relief sigh.

"Yang Jungwon, you are finally free from your father's abusive trait..." He cups his face, from giggling to laughing out loud, purely filled with evil.

"You are finally a mafia leader now, Yang Jungwon!"

She tilts her head, and finally smiles with her teeth reveals.
