'Today I want to talk to you about something very important, about the movie of "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" and all the representation that this film contains.

I'm a Yucatec, who's proud of his Mayan roots. Today I went with my grandmother to see this movie. My grandmother comes from a town here in Yucatán, where the Mayan language is still spoken, and they don't know the emotion and impact it had to see people speaking their mother tongue on the big screen. She spent the whole movie translating (even though the movie had subtitles) the parts where Maya was spoken.

And not only was that, it was the fact of seeing that a character as powerful and important as Namor is, is brown, and that the actor who plays this character is Mexican.

Representation matters, not just to new generations, but also to the past that can finally be represented in a dignified and non-stereotypical way. Tenoch Huerta did an excellent job representing our country’
