Not a BBC Sherlock fan anymore, but absolutely love Sherlock Holmes and Holmes/Watson content in other adaptations.

So, alas, blacklisting the BBC Sherlock tag doesn't really help, because I am still interested in Sherlock Holmes, and not everyone tags their posts as BBC Sherlock specifically when they post something related to it (not blaming anyone for that - I get how tiring it can be to tag the whole thing everytime you post/reblog something - but still.)

I can't even filter the johnlock tag (despite not shipping johnlock in the show anymore) because even people who post Holmes/Watson posts in other adaptations, they tag those as johnlock too (like granada johnlock, etc.) and I don't want to be missing out on them.

I'm not really going anywhere with this hehe. Just a rambling. I still seeing my old friends from the BBC Sherlock fandom (you included) on my dash.

Ugh, I'm sorry that searching has become harder for you. I can understand the frustration you're having... perhaps instead you need to filter further NOT by ship tags but by relationships?

If you go to AO3's search page start narrowing it down by Fandom:

This example I just typed Sherlock, so you could choose the specific fandom or various fandom (you can select multiple ones, it will show up with an "x" next to it, then just start typing another one).

THEN, scroll down a bit more, and select from the "Relationship" section:

The "/" means romantic ship (a "slash ship") and the "&" is a platonic / friendship ship (note that some "pre-slash" fics tag them with the ampersand). That should help narrow down your search a lot more than just typing in tags.

In fairness, a LOT of authors use "Sherlock Holmes and Related Fandoms" tag BECAUSE it is an umbrella fandom, so you HAVE to narrow it down more to the specific adaptation you're looking for fics for. Using both seems to work better, I find.

And in defence of authors, Johnlock is the most-known ship tag for them, so you WILL get everything from everywhere. You're best off to make SURE you're using the relationship filter to narrow it down rather than just typing in "Johnlock" as a general tag search.

Unless of course this is ALL already what you're doing then I'm just a fool who can't read LOL 🙃

That all said, I am sorry you're having a hard time finding what you need (and to be fair, my blog isn't the best place to find non-BBC Johnlock fics, LOL) BUT I do really appreciate you still enjoying my content enough to follow me although BBCS isn't your jam anymore <3

Hey there... I've been offline a bit and took a step back from fandom to try and get my excitement back. It was semi-successful... there were good things in the last few eps but I am torn between not caring and still hoping for a good finale.

I am literally torn between not caring and hoping for a good ending as well.

I mean, all the signs are there, and we've done this song and dance before, I did not think the storytelling will deteriorate to that once again, but here we are.

I am giving it until the finale next week.

After that, the question of whether I'll stick to canon or retire to fanon forever will be finally answered.

I keep reviewing, I keep seeing the signs and point them out, I enjoy making gifs and weave theories, but I am tired.

So one more week, after that if we're expected to settle for mediocre hetero relationships, I'll be taking my interest elsewhere, somewhere the hetero relationships were written convincingly over time, where best friends/brotherly relationships are actually written that way, somewhere I can see new relationships begin and smile at the cuteness of it.

Because if it were a man and a woman or 2 women, we would have long ago gotten to see our beloved, prancing around each other from the start, duo together.

But two men finding each other is too complicated to write somehow.

This is me venting, and I'm sorry.

The best way to keep the excitement up is to put the pairing aside and focus on something else good in the show. This time, it was Maddie and Jee proposing to Chimney.

Other times, it's Hen and Karen cuteness, they really are a fun couple.

And more often than not, Bobby and Athena, there's always something to love them for. It's the kind of relationship I wish for myself. To be together for a long time, inlove and being sexy together at all ages - I want that!

So, no, it's not the buddie show, but we wish it was part of the show in a canonical way. There's nothing wrong with that.

I came across an interview of grrm and he said the dragons and Dany are fire of "A Song of Ice and Fire" I wonder if that's true then I don't think the theory of her loosing one of the dragons is true, even in the prophecy of Slayer of lies, it is said, "a winged beast [....] Smoking black [....]" It could've directly say a dragon instead of winged beast and also there are theories that euron might bring out other sea creatures from the sea apart from karakens.

Also in the last Daenerys chapter in ADwD we see this line:

"Remember who you are, Daenerys,” the stars whispered in a woman's voice, “The dragons know. Do you?”

I feel dragons know she's TPTWP and I find myself in odds with accepting the theory that dragons will easily get manipulated by a horn. And we have Archmaester Marwyn who is a targ loyalist and a magician, I think he'll help her in the magic area.

Again I feel we are very much influenced by the show and we naturally think that Dany will loose her dragons, whenever I see such claims I turn my head and look at euron, he has karakens, magic stuff, he knows so much as compared to Dany, why isn't anyone predicting what he will loose? Everyone just says "Dany will kill him" but how? When? By using what? Everyone speculate of her dragons getting killed, and etc but how is she supposed to defeat him?

I feel it ironic that everyone will take away the things she accomplished by herself, give it to every other worthless character and yet use her to solve all the problems.

She doesn't know about the blood magic that her ancestors use to perform, she doesn't know how to use a dragon properly, hell she sees them as her children which no dragon lord ever did.

Hi nonnie! First of all, this is a safe place to rant so don't worry about it! Everyone is welcome to use my inbox to vent out, even without asking me any question I could answer. We all need to rant sometimes, especially in this fandom where we read bullshit all the time.

You're absolutely right, GRRM confirmed the meaning of the title A Song of Ice and Fire. Fire = dragons, ice = the Others. Now, this seems kinda obvious, but there are still antis Dany who argue about this when it's honestly not that hard to understand. My five years-old goddaughter would be able to understand the title, but Dany haters are ridiculous when they're trying to come up with arguments about her being the true evil of the story.

Now, it doesn't mean Euron will not be able to use the horn and that one of Dany's dragons won't be ensorceled. Of course, Marwyn the Mage will be able to help Dany, we know he's on his way and it will be very interesting. But will he be able to help her against Euron? We actually don't know much about the horn, so really, what I said in my answer here is only speculation and theories. You can absolutely have another take on what will happen.

I don't think I'm influenced by the show in my speculations and theories though, because Dany lost two dragons in the show: Viserion killed by the Night King and Rhaegal killed by Euron, which will definitely not happen in the books. The way she lost them is in total contradiction with book canon, so no.

About the prophecy not saying it's a dragon: prophecies are always vague. "Glowing like sunset, a red sword was raised in the hand of a blue-eyed king who cast no shadow" refers to Stannis, "A cloth dragon swayed on poles amidst a cheering crowd" refers to Young Griff, but while they're more obvious than "From a smoking tower, a great stone beast took wing, breathing shadow fire", they're not exactly very helpful for those who haven't read the books. No wonder Dany is wary of prophecies.

I do believe Euron will be killed by Dany, but how will he get killed? Again, we can only speculate. Burned by her two others dragons if we stay on the theory that one of them will be ensorceled, maybe.

Now, that's definitely what happened on the show, and we're still not over it which is normal because it was deeply, fundamentally insulting for so many of us. So it's harder to accept that people will try to take away from her and will try to use her (some already have) in the books. We wants things to be easier for her because of what they did in the show, but it can't happen nonnie. Dany will keep struggling and face challenges, but keep in mind that she is a hero, that she is the one who was promised, that she is a good person even if she will be darker in The Winds of Winter (but every character will be darker, it's normal at this point in the story).

I hope your day is equally good so far 😊 Thank you so much for your lovely message, that honestly means a lot 💗 I'll admit that I sometimes do need to vent my frustrations and rant about all of it (I'm not at all immune to negative feelings or thoughts, but I do try to work hard at being positive as much as I can), but I prefer doing so in private, to people that I know share my opinion. I just don't see the need to actively ruin other people's excitement about something like this by publicly squashing their opinions or excitement. That would be kind of a dick move imo lol🤷🏻‍♀️

I do want to say that, while I absolutely try to be a welcoming place for everyone, at the same time, that doesn't necessarily mean that I have to entertain everybody's opinions. If someone sends me an ask with an opinion that differs wildly from my own, or it contains something that makes me sad or angry, I consciously choose not to engage with it. Yes, I want to be open and respectful of different opinions (as long as those opinions are harmless, of course), but at the same time, I am by no means an unbiased or objective 'platform' and would never purport to be. At the risk of sounding like a douche: I have feelings too, so protecting my peace and my own safe space still has to come first, otherwise I don't see the point in having this blog in the first place, you know?

Apologies for that little side note, but it's been on my mind, and I thought it would be good to share!

i've made the decision to leave the fandom. it's something i knew i should've done last year but i pushed through thinking it would get better but it got worse. there are amazing people here and they're very talented and incredible, but i can't no longer stand the vqs and the hellcheers that seek us out just to start shit and then act all innocent in front of grace. i've blocked a lot of the toxic people and tags but something always manages to escape and i was trying really hard to just focus on joe and steddie but it's hard when a post or tweet from a vq gets retweeted or reblogged. i'll still support and love both joe and steddie but i'll get my fix the oldschool way: using google and browsing through ao3. the thing is, i just couldn't leave without saying this. that phoenix person will meet joe soon. she will come back with all sorts of lies. there's no question here. she said she was gonna mention grace to him so you can bet your ass she'll come back saying joe told her a secret or that he confirmed he's dating grace or that he got all shy when she mentioned her name or that he said grace was the most beautiful woman in the world or that he loves hellcheer to hell and back and guess what, he was a little uncomfortable about the steddie question during that con. she WILL do this. it's a 100% guaranteed. you take one look at her blog and you know she's not just some weird, crazy fan. she is truly delusional as in mental illness delusional. so don't engage with her but DO NOT BELIEVE A SINGLE WORD SHE SAYS/WRITES. and that's it. i'm really sad i won't be keeping up with your blog anymore, shiny, because nonnies come here with twitter info or vq info and they should, i'm glad they have this space to rant or vent or just chat and i'm glad you provide it with so much kindness. but i really need a break from all of this. so thank you for everything <3

cats make lovely companions for the right person! before we had a dog, i used to have de faco cats who came over for mealtimes and treated our place like their bed and board hostel 😂 one of them gave birth underneath our outdor sink and was so comfortable with us she let us handle her kittens all the time. one of those kittens was a super sweet black and white one who liked to sleep inside a laundry tub. when i got home and called his name, his tiny head (and tiny ears and bright, bright eyes and pink nose 😭) would pop up over the rim and he'd let me turn him on his back for belly rubs. 🥲 he was suuuuuuper warm, too, and a purring machine. by the time we finished with our nightly belly rub, my legs where he lay on would be toasty! i miss that smart alecky boy and will be over the moon happy for you if you ever wind up getting a cat. they adopt the people they like so quickly, even if they're not "officially" pets 🥲

i've never heard of memrise but good on you for learning and askjdfasduf for your trip!!!!! SK is beautiful and the food is gooooooood (especially their strawberries!!!). like istg i don't think i had a single bad meal there! most memorable one is prolly the grilled chicken. it's like samgeupsal but the tenderest, juiciest chicken with the most addictive dipping sauce. ❤️ i hope you're able to try it (and lots and lots of other korean food) when you go! ((their convenience store ice cream is also gooooood))

Hi. So a few months ago I sort of kind of came out to my then best friend about being ace (told her I thought I was) and she replied with something along the lines of “well I don’t think you are, maybe you feel like that because you’ve never been in a relationship / the right one” and I didn’t realize until very recently, after I stopped talking to her, how invalidating that is and how it makes me doubt myself so much and want to never tell anyone else that ever again. I stopped talking to her because I realized I couldn’t trust her — she told me about someone from our high school that came out to her, which I don’t think was okay of her to tell me at all and it was what prompted me to tell her my own thing in the first place (literally don’t know why I trusted her with this I’m si dumb) And I cant tell anyone why I cut her off even though mutual friends might wonder and idk feeling a lot of feelings lately sorry for venting

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. No one ever deserves to have their identity called into question. You know yourself better than anyone else and your feelings should always be supported.

But it's okay to feel like you were a little blind in trusting her. It can be hard to see that sometimes. I've had my own moments where I've wondered what I was thinking. It's always easier to analyze the situation when you've had some distance when it seems so normal in the moment.

Friendships when they fall apart can be so hard to navigate, because you have to deal with your own feelings, but everyone else's curiosity as well. Just know, that even if they want to know why, you don't owe them an explanation and could say nothing more than you don't want to talk about it at the moment. And they'll hopefully respect your wishes and give you some space on the issue.

I hope things work out in a way that's best for you. You're welcome to some internet hugs if you need them.

natsume may grow concerned with your dangerously high levels of melatonin. just how does your body manage to produce that much? you sleep, wake up, and then sleep some more. oh, please, do share some with him. you could supply the entire school with it, he jokes, flicking your forehead.

it's no secret, he often stays up day and night to create new spells for switch's stages—it gets boring if repeated, so natsume is always on it. you couldn't be more different, really. but don't worry, both of you are nice and safe down in the secret room, you for your beauty sleep and he for his spells.

natsume even arranged you a little corner, with cushions, pillows, and stage curtains that nobody would miss. not only do you have shelter from teachers who may reprimand you for your habits, but you also have a luxurious little sleeping space. isn't your boyfriend the best? go on, say it, don't be shy.

"not on my shoulder.", natsume warned, shrugging your head off of him, grabbing you by the hands to pull you up from your seat. "i need to move, here. come on up.", with a hand in yours and one on your back, he guided you over to your spot, kicking away some cushions to make space for you.

"fufu, you're even sleepier today, you lazy, lazy sloth.", true to your nickname, you tugged him down with you. surprisingly, he complied. it was when you actually got a look in his eyes that you realized that he was exhausted. "one time, alright? make some space for me."

whenever you text him that you're going to sleep, he sends you a specific picture of a sloth along with the goodnight text. he likes to tease you about it, but don't worry, you're fine. when you're too tired and he's not working on anything, natsume lends you his shoulder to lean on or his thigh as a pillow. you're flattening my legs, you buffoon.

you're a bit distant, but it doesn't matter. he'll cross any bridge to reach you because he likes you. funnily enough, the best bridge to you is.. well, sleeping. you know, sleeping next to your significant other increases trust, it strengthens your bond. with how much you sleep, he's sure you're inseparable.

soon, your little sleep corner expands to house the both of you. don't worry about classes, he whispers in your ear, i'll teach you all of it. rest assured. quite literally, fufu. you end up sleeping through and between an entire day. but only a few days—he has matters to attend, after all. so treasure those few days.

✧ AOBA TSUMUGI !

tsumugi is ready to toss himself right underneath you as your pillow at any time of the day. don't worry about it, tsumugi's got it. hell, you're sure you can even fall asleep standing and he'll manage to catch you every time before you crash. it's like he has a sixth sense.

however, be prepared for a little scolding. you'll get sick, your clothes will end up dirty, or what if you fall badly? if that happens, my heart won't take it, so please be more careful., he'll fuss in that light tone of his, adjusting your collar and jacket after you fell asleep right in front of the air vent.

he'll be at your side before you know it, guiding you to somewhere you can get comfortable. he doesn't want you falling asleep in the wrong places—he sets you down somewhere safe, where he knows he can find you, in case he has to leave. you're in the right hands with tsumugi.

tsumugi was scurrying around the moment after he placed you down onto the sofa, scrambling through cupboards of fabrics and strings. the noise was keeping your eyes open. you were starting to grow annoyed, eyebrows furrowed as you faced the lean of the couch, covering your head.

"there we go. this should do.", you heard from somewhere across the room before you felt silk being draped over your body. a bundle of something soft poked the back of your head—you raised it and found your vision obscured by cotton. it tickled your nose—you sneezed so violently, you were sure your soul left your body for a second. "oh—oh god."

he has a bit of experience, from when eichi's health spontaneously decided that it's time to collapse. but he's still a bit clumsy, and since you're not a patient he has to deliver to the infirmary, where they have the nicer beds, go easy on him. the handicrafts room is the spot where he mostly leaves you at.

his clubmates are a bit annoyed, but it's like tsumugi doesn't register it. "they're sleeping here again.", shu will say bitterly. "i know! aren't they adorable?", tsumugi will reply, pinching your cheek lightly, before going back to his craft. out of leftovers, he'll make you a nice, own pillow, so you can sleep nicely. and at the same time, they're not throwing away good fabric! it's a win on all sides.

it's the same with your distance—he's not fazed by it at all, even if you're hostile towards him at first. it's like you're talking to a wall sometimes. a wall that cares for you and learns to crochet you cute, patterned blankets. sometimes, you can sleep right next to your favorite wall. he's tall and warm and perfect to lean or sleep on.

I literally just found your blog, but wanted to say thanks. I was already in a bit of a crappy mood today, then saw the negativity about Sebastian not being at the run. It was bumming me out. It will never cease to amaze me how some so-called fans act. Like, really? He stilled show up afterwards. What exactly do they want from him? But I was scrolling through your blog here and it seems like a cool, positive place not just about this but in general too. So, thank you. I needed that today.

I'm sorry you came across that! I'm lucky enough never to see any of the hate for some reason, so I'd be completely unaware of it if it wasn't for my nonnies to keep me updated - which I don't mind, by the way, I can shrug it off and laugh at the haters pretty easily these days, so if venting to me can make people who are having a harder time of that feel a little better, then that's totally ok with me <3

Anyways, I always tell people who are having a hard time with the hate to avoid it as much as possible (stay out of the tag & the comment sections on insta etc. and use those unfollow & block buttons and filtering options!) and focus on following people you like and trust to have similar opinions to yours and who understand that fandom is about having fun, not about spreading hate and fake activism. It's worked wonders for me! 10/10, can recommend. Hope you feel better, hon! 😘
