Ryan set loose on the world is the best thing that happened for this show and this fandom.
I love his energy, I love that ABC and Tim are finally unlocking his potential, thus promotion has reached a whole new level.
Nothing is being said that is false, nothing is insinuated other than his awareness of the appearance of the writers' choices.
And he enjoys every part of the process because his relationship with Oliver makes it possible.
I am totally enjoying this new 911 era, bring it on!
Yes, buddie canon can be awesome, also kind of a given at this point.
But even if it won't, so long as we don't get a new meaningless handbag, and we get to see some development that sticks for all characters, I would be happy.
“I'm thinking that in 7x03 we get some sort of switch flipped on between Buck and Eddie, something that will kick at least one of them out of the metaphorical closet”
What makes you think that?
I think that, because we know that a break up between Eddie and Marisol is near should be 7x04 or 7x05.
Also, the title "Buck bothered and bewildered."
I mean, come on. Something must shift.
If the word "hot" was added there I would scream buddie, but it's not there so it's kind of vague.
I'm thinking that in 7x03 we get some sort of switch flipped on between Buck and Eddie, something that will kick at least one of them out of the metaphorical closet.
And may very well will be what leads Eddie to break up with Marisol.
I want to start this post by saying that I love Hen! I love her so much, that she is the reason I watched S1, along with Athena, they were my favorite pair. - Still are, wish we get more of them in S1 vibe.
That being said, I really thought, or hoped, that after Lone Star's chopper crash in the thick smoke Hen would know better than to fly into a freaking hurricane.
That small bird is not made for natural disasters.
And yes, I admire her loyalty to her captain, and her love for her best friend, she is an amazing friend.
But it is so irresponsible to fly into a natural disaster when you have a team to captain and a family to go home to.
And Hen should know better than to try the lone wolf shtick, she's done it in Lone Star crossover and nearly died with Captain Strand, now she is doing it with her team, that even though they had a difference of opinions (not even that, they can't testify to something they know nothing about) she should know they would follow her everywhere.
Hell, Buck and Eddie along with the 126 went into literal wildfire in the middle of the night to get her and captain Strand.
Hen makes a good captain, when she is all in, but when she is compromised she may get her entire team killed before they get to the cruise ship and that is something, that if anything does happen to either of them, she will never forgive herself for.
I hope everyone makes it back in one piece, for Hen's sake. I hope Hen comes back in one piece.
Would love to hear ur take on all this buddie Oliver Ryan press???
Lmao, I have resolved myself to not watch any of the press circuits done, by anyone.
I read here and there from the corner of my eye.
But from what I've seen, you can't really match what's being said to what is happening on the show.
On one hand, you have diplomatic responses from both Oliver and Ryan of things like vulnerable male friendships and shit like that. I say shit like that because I have watched so many best friends pairs on several different TV shows where there is trust and vulnerability and love and sharing of apartments and kids in the mix, and none of those look as gay as Buck and Eddie and whatever the hell they do.
And on the other hand, we have the unfiltered God bless him, Ryan responses, where he loves both Buck and Oliver to the core, and "this goes beyond friendship".
In my opinion, Ryan is the only one being honest about how this thing looks like, he's been married, he has kids and lot of close friends,he can be objective and tell the difference.
I buy more into Ryan's solo interviews, than whatever was said in the show oriented PR tour.
The fact that they finally put Ryan and Oliver together tells me that Buck and Eddie will get even more, if that is possible, close this season.
Where it leads, is unclear, because the interviews may not say much, but the show itself just seems like it's gravitating to a buddie endgame conclusion.
It helps that the entire cast, low key, are buddie shippers since S3, led enthusiastically by Ryan and JLH.
So I don't know, but I wouldn't look too closely at the interviews, they never reflect the on screen interaction.
Since I didn't watch the Ryan and Oliver interview, if I missed something or got it wrong correct me, but looks like the bottom line of the gifs I saw is they're married but not sleeping together vibe lol
