Kissing the Cook
Tumblr media
Request: If I may make a request . . . 17, your bias is Yoo Kihyun (Monsta X)
Prompt:
17) Your friend (who is already dating one of the members) sets you up with your bias.
Pairing: Monsta X Kihyun x Reader
Genre: Fluff
.
"I'm not doing it," Kihyun said finitely, crossing his arms.
"You're definitely doing it," Minhyuk hummed, adjusting his collar in the mirror. He glanced over his shoulder at the ever so slightly younger member and smirked. "Get dressed."
"You can't tell me what to do."
"Can and will," Minhyuk chimed.
Kihyun heaved a deep sigh before pulling himself up from the couch. Nodding to himself in reassurance, he looked to Minhyuk again. "Where are we going?"
"A place," Minhyuk said simply, spinning around. "How do I look?"
"Like a menace to society," Kihyun muttered. "But that's no different from any other day."
"Rude," Minhyuk clucked. Fishing his phone from his slacks, he began to type quickly. "No rush, but we have to leave in like ten minutes."
"Ten minutes?!" Kihyun whined. He looked down to his pajama bottoms and bleach stained shirt. "I need to shower."
"Sounds a lot like a you problem."
"A me problem that is rapidly becoming a you problem!" Kihyun pointed out. Stomping down the hall he cursed quietly to himself while he heard Minhyuk chuckling behind him.
"Nine minutes!"
.
You held fast to your best friend's hand as she navigated you toward an ominous building. "Why have you been so secretive about this whole thing?"
"Me?" Mina squeaked, looking at you with innocent eyes. "Secretive? I don't know the meaning of the word!"
"You are chaos incarnate and your boyfriend is even worse," you grumbled. Choosing to snatch your hand from hers, your eyes began to roam the small information plate noting what businesses operated in the building.
"I take offense to that," she laughed. "Mostly for myself. Minhyuk is admittedly a goblin."
"Yah!" a voice gasped from behind the two of you. "I heard that!"
Spinning around, you were face to face with Mina's partner in crime AND life, Lee Minhyuk. They weren't the sickeningly sweet couple everyone expected them to be, but troublemakers in every sense of the word. They fueled each other's nonsense like no other and frankly it was exhausting even being in both of their presence at once.
"Baby!" Mina grinned, throwing her arms around Minhyuk's neck. She gave him a quick kiss before springing back again.
"Hey," he smiled, eying his girlfriend with every ounce of love in his body. Shaking himself from her spell, he looked toward you and grinned. "Hey, Y/N!"
"Hi, Minnie," you grumbled, rubbing your hand over your opposite arm. Third wheeling again, what a treat.
The sound of someone clearing their throat just behind Minhyuk signaled that you needed to reevaluate your previous thought.
"Sorry!" Minhyuk huffed as he sidestepped. With a smile, he motioned to the person who was standing at least ten feet away from him. "Kihyun is...here!"
Your eyes widened as you assessed the man that had been labelled as part of your group for the evening. The two of you had met informally many times before, but for some reason, the familiarity couldn't halt the butterflies springing to life in your stomach.
While you knew who Kihyun was and even a bit of his personality, you had never hung out with intention. Making eyes at each other across the table at game nights or eagerly eating whatever food he chose to prepare were the height of your interactions.
"Ahhh," you finally managed. "Hi?"
"Hi," Kihyun nodded politely. He glanced from you to Minhyuk and then back again. His eyes set on yours for only a moment, the contact making you instantly shy. Kihyun smirked before looking away, his ears turning a bright red in the process.
"Isn't this great?" Minhyuk nodded. "You're single. Kihyun's desperate. It's perfect."
"Hey!" Kihyun snipped, glaring at his friend. "I'm not desperate."
"He's not very self aware," Minhyuk continued in a hushed voice. "But he is very cute, isn't he?"
This caused Kihyun to roll his eyes. You tried to stifle your giggle as he motioned to the staircase leading inside the building. "Can we please do whatever it is we are here to do?"
"Yes, of course," Minhyuk nodded, pleased with himself. Launching forward, he grabbed Mina's hand in his and started charging up the stairs. Left alone with Kihyun, you gave him an exasperated grin.
Smiling in return, he stepped forward. "Sorry about him."
"Unnecessary," you laughed. "Let's catch up before we're left behind."
"Honestly," Kihyun muttered, looking over his shoulder in both directions. "That might not be the worst idea."
"I'm sorry, what?" you croaked. Sure, you hadn't expected to be dragged on a double date tonight, but you were kind of offended that he wanted to bail.
Laughing, he shook his head. "Who the hell knows what these two signed us up for. I think I have something better in mind."
..
"Can you tie this for me?" Kihyun asked, spinning around so his back faced you.
"Of course," you hummed, taking the strings from his hands. You had never realized how wide his shoulders were until you were up close. Chewing on your lip, you absently tied the apron as you eyed him from behind.
After consulting Google for the better part of your two block jog away from your friends, Kihyun had finally settled on bringing you back to the Monsta X dorm. He could cook you dinner with whatever they had laying around and you would be delivered to Mina as soon as the happy couple arrived back home. It had made all of the sense in the world.
The adrenaline pumping through your veins quickly subdued by the time you were perched on the bar stool in front of him. Now the nerves danced around in your body, trying to keep cool as you watched him cut vegetables.
"Are you sure you don't need help?" you asked, itching for something to do instead of sitting in silence.
"Uuuuh," Kihyun hummed, looking around the kitchen. His gaze finally settled on the task before him and he gave a short nod. "You know what, why don't you cut these?"
"Sure," you squeaked, instantly regretting your request. It wasn't like you were a bad cook, Kihyun was just much more proficient.
Hopping off of the chair and making your way to where he was standing, you were surprised as he took up a spot directly behind you. Lifting a spare apron over your front and dropping it at your neck, you felt his nimble fingers find the ties at your side. Remaining painfully still, you waited as he tied the fabric. Taking a short step back, he pointed around you at the knife you would need.
"Alright, take that one," he said, his voice a breath in your ear. "And we're going to want to cut this as thin as possible."
"Okay," you whispered, picking up the utensil with one hand and a clove of garlic in the other.
"We want it so thin that it'll essentially melt in the pan," he continued.
You nodded. Of course this made all of the sense in the world when it was coming out of Kihyun's lips.
Kihyun lips.
You grimaced as you cut the first slice of garlic much too thick. You needed to stop focusing on the cute boy leaning into you and the task at hand.
Proving to be the most difficult task in the world, your body nearly collapsed as Kihyun stepped closer. His firm chest settled against your back as he reached around you and took the knife from your hand.
"Watch," he said quietly, slicing it perfectly because of course he did. "Just like that."
Good God.
"Just like that," you croaked. You thought about swiveling around to address him, but instantly thought better of it. "Maybe I was more helpful watching you than actually helping."
You could feel his huffed laugh against your neck as he continued to chop. "You're giving up this easily?"
"Well, no," you said, now a bit embarrassed. "I think I may just be getting in the way though."
"Who said that's a bad thing?" he teased, closing what limited distance was between you. You tried not to choke on your own saliva.
"It's crazy, isn't it?" he asked, picking up another clove and beginning his ministrations.
"Wh-What?"
"That we were set up," he chuckled. "By two of the most dysfunctional people I think either of us have ever met."
You giggled as you attempted to remain calm. Where was he going with this?
"What do they know about other's compatibility?" he continued. His chin was basically set on your shoulder. You took a deep breath, lavishing in whatever spicy ginger cologne he was wearing.
"Well," you managed. "They certainly knew that they were-"
"The end of times?" Kihyun finished. "I'm convinced their love is going to bring forth the apocalypse."
"So..." you chuckled, trying to put on a brave face. "What do you think they were expecting to bring forth with our match?"
Kihyun paused. You could almost hear his gears turning as he set down the items in his hands. Leaning slowly back, you instantly regretted that whatever you had said caused him to retreat.
"Something...easy," he said, his voice suddenly gravelly. "Something they knew would work if they nudged us hard enough."
Hardly believing what you were hearing, you carefully spun to look at him. His handsome face was hard to read, but you definitely saw something there. The way his lips parted ever so slightly, the way his eyes searched yours...it was want. Kihyun wanted whatever this was.
"You...you'd think we'd make a good match then?" you squeaked, needing the confirmation.
Kihyun sniffed a short chuckle before reaching up. Grabbing you lightly by the back of the neck, his eyes delved into yours one last time before closing the distance. He kissed you fiercely, knocking you off balance. You were immediately caught and then boxed in against the counter behind you. Reaching to set a palm on the surface around either side of your hips, he licked at your bottom lip before sucking it into his mouth. Biting it softly, you didn't miss how tense he became when you offered up a whimper.
Tangling your hands around his neck and playing with the short hair at the back of his scalp, you were all fire inside. Before his body had even really touched yours, you were a match waiting to be lit. He knew exactly how to fan the flame.
"Idiot, you left your location on," you heard a familiar voice barge through the door.
Kihyun stopped kissing you and cringed. His body remained locked around yours, no intention of letting you go this soon.
"I can't believe you guys left! We were going to do a rage room and-"
Both Minhyuk and Mina stopped short as they walked into the kitchen. With matching expressions of shock, an awkward silence settled over the room.
Kihyun grimaced before burying his face into your neck and letting out a loud groan.
"We...uh," Mina began, her eyes darting back and forth. "We're just going to go anywhere but here."
"Yep," Minhyuk nodded, his eyes wide. "We'll let you kids get back to uh...whatever that was."
Turning on his heel, Minhyuk tugged Mina with him. "Don't do anything we wouldn't do!"
"The bar is set extremely low then," Kihyun muttered before lifting his face up again. "You laughed as you reached up and rubbed your thumb over his jaw. "Now, where were we?"

chapter sixteen: the storm of the night before
You had never slept alone in your room ever since you gave birth. Partly because you weren’t well off enough to give Kian her own room just yet, but mostly because it puts you at ease hearing your daughter breathe as she slept.
Even when you two started living in the MX house, you still shared a room — although that was a product of another reason. Yes, the mansion has more than enough rooms to choose from, but Kian was still getting used to all the changes that happened — something in her old routine had to be kept the same. And it wasn’t like you support the idea of leaving your four-year old alone at night, either — especially in a location that might be swarmed by enemies as you slept. Of course, you knew she had to learn to become independent in that sense soon, but you were in no rush to have her grow up as soon as possible.
Thus, in the night before your wedding, when your cousin Seungcheol took Kian for the night to make the preparations the following morning easier, you felt uneasy sleeping by yourself.
Kian was picked up by her SVT uncles a few hours after lunch. As such, you didn’t even have the toddler to tire you out enough. You didn’t have work, either, since your vacation leave had already started. You had already cleaned and rearranged anything that you could, but you were still unfortunately wide awake. Watching anything to pass time was proven to be futile as well, since all the presented recommendations catered to your daughter and consequently just made you miss her even more.
You were told to sleep early, to prevent bags under your eyes. Unfortunately, even if you were trying your best to do exactly that, the silence in your room was deafening — suffocating you, too, almost. Even when you tried to put on some white noise to drown it out, sleep still couldn’t claim you.
Sadly, you couldn’t just grab a drink to help you knockout, either. After all, as much as sleeping early was important, waking up without a hangover was even more preferable.
"Ryuki?" You never imagined that you would’ve to resort to this. Your relationship with Ryuki had gotten even colder in the past weeks, right after your outing with I.M and Player. You weren’t sure why so — and you felt like you were in no position to ask, so you just let it be.
Unfortunately for him, he was the closest thing you had in your daughter’s absence.
"Can I help you?" Ryuki soon cracked his door open, just creating a small enough gap to peek at whoever dared to knock.
You hesitated for a moment as a bit of your sanity came back. Still, you couldn’t stop words from escaping your lips. "I miss Kian."
There was silence first, then— "And? Do you want to make another one?"
Had you been drinking anything, you would’ve surely spat it out. You knew providing an heir was in the contract between MX and SVT, but you hadn’t really talked to Ryuki long enough to ask if Kian already counted. And even if you now had the time to talk, you weren’t really in the mood to venture in that topic.
You snapped your mouth close, after involuntarily opening it due to shock. You immediately turned to leave, "I should’ve just went to Hyungwon."
Yet, before you could take another step, a hand encircled your wrist. "What did you really come here for?"
"I already told you . . . I miss my daughter."
"Our daughter," Ryuki corrected as he let go of your wrist. You then heard him let out a deep breath before he spoke up again, "Just go to sleep, we’ll see her tomorrow."
"I can’t—" You stopped suddenly, as if you thought better about your next words. "I’ve tried and I’m not so sure I can sleep without her."
Something shifted in the air suddenly, although you were unsure why it did. All you did know was it couldn’t be for of a good reason — especially since the temperature felt like it dropped a few degrees.
"It’s not easy sleeping alone when you’ve been so used to having someone next to you, isn’t it?" It wasn’t a question — nor was it still about your present dilemma. It was, for its complications, a long overdue topic — one that bloomed long before Kian was even born.
You sighed, this is going to be a long night.
Slowly, without another word, you turned back towards his direction and sat down in front of his door. Your back was pressed on the oak, your legs crossed and tucked under you. You looked up to meet his questioning eyes, your expression neutral.
"I’m sorry, Yoo Kihyun." You forced yourself to not break the eye contact as you finally referred to him by his civilian name. You needed him to see your sincerity and feel it resonate as much as possible, even if your apologies would only turn out to be futile later. "There are a lot of things I’m sorry for, but there is nothing I regret."
You heard him let out a dry chuckle. "Do you really hate me that much? Did— did I make your life that miserable? To the point that you don’t even feel an ounce of regret for leaving me?"
You hardened the expression you wore. "Don’t put words into my mouth. I never—"
"—But that’s what you meant, isn’t it?" Kihyun cut you off before you could even finish. "You even came up with a scheme—"
"—That’s not—"
"—To leave, involving the leaders of SVT and Hyungwon! How is it that you had no problem telling them the truth, but you didn’t tell me? I was—"
"—I couldn’t—"
Albeit you both initially tried to control your volume, your voices just kept on raising an octave with each argument — as both of you tried to be heard over the other. Thankfully, the whole floor wing was designated for Kihyun, so no one else was around to hear your screaming match.
Unspoken as it was, you were both glad that your daughter wasn’t round to overhear. Whether it was a blessing that Kian was over at Seungcheol’s in the first place was debatable, though. After all, was it really a good idea to address the elephant in the room the night before the wedding — when talking it out wouldn’t guarantee resolution?
By how everything was going, it wouldn’t be too surprising if addressing the past only created a greater divide between you and Kihyun.
It was a miracle one of you eventually managed to collect your mind and calm down. However, for what it was worth, it wasn’t at all surprising that it was you who did.
"Can you just listen to me?" You dropped your voice back down after you realized how ridiculous you two were being by trying to out-scream each other. "Just for a second, just listen. Please."
Your plead seemed to have shocked him, if you were going by the indication given by his suddenly wide eyes. However, just before you could conclude that he finally gave in, he spoke once more. "No.
"No," Kihyun’s voice held an unyielding finality in them, "because the last time I listened to you, you took Kian away from me."

chapter seventeen: the calmness after the storm
Despite Kihyun’s blatant refusal to hear you explain yourself, you still ended up doing so, anyway. Although, admittedly, that feat wasn’t achievable without a compromise.
You recognized you had left him with years worth of hatred and a multitude of unanswered questions, so you didn’t do anything that might potentially invalidate his feelings. Instead, you chose to let him have the microphone until he ran out of things to say — or until he ran out of energy to continue.
Then, once the hoarseness made it impossible to say anything else, you did your best to answer all his questions in order.
You never hated him. No matter how hateful and cruel your actions to him were, you had nothing but love for him.
You were in no way, shape, nor form miserable during your life together. In fact, you were extremely thankful that he went out of his way to separate and protect you from the dark side of MX. Not to mention he allowed you to continue living your civilian life as it was, without restrictions.
He was the main source of your happiness, the sole owner of your heart. At least back then.
Still, despite all of those, you didn’t feel an ounce of regret for ruining what you had then. Because, as you told him before you left, as much as you loved him, you just didn’t love him enough — enough to jeopardize Kian’s chance at a normal and safe life, that was.
"I can protect her. Both of you." Kihyun had long lost his energy to stand, so he had been sitting on the floor early into your spiel. You couldn’t see him clearly since it was quite dark in his room, but you could tell he was leaning against the wall — seating close to his bedroom door and to you, but facing the opposite way. "You didn’t have to leave."
You knew he was going to say that. You also knew he meant it with all his heart. You trust him to do nothing less, which admittedly part of the reason why you strengthened your resolve to leave. You liked how unrestricted you were, with just a tracker locating where you were. With the existence of a child, however, you knew you were bound to lose that freedom and instead be under constant surveillance — especially after what happened to Hayeon. Despite being well aware of his good intentions, you also knew you would end up hating him because of it.
You didn’t want to hate him. And you most certainly didn’t want him to face a situation where he would’ve had to choose between you and Kian or MX — nor, even worse, you or Kian.
"I couldn’t think of any other way that would give our child a chance at a normal life and also eliminate the possibility of you having to choose, so I made the call," you explained further. As brave as you were earlier, you no longer found the strength to look at him as you revealed everything. "I could never bear the thought of hating you; but I figured I could probably live with knowing you hated me, so I— I made you hate me. I made sure you blamed me for every reason why our relationship went down to flames."
"If you wanted to leave, you could’ve just said so," you heard him say. "You didn’t have to do all of that."
"Without the dramatics, would have you really let me go?" You challenged. "Without offering to fix whatever it was that made me want to leave? Without assigning people to trail me and keep me safe? Without checking in on me whenever you thought of me?" You paused to hear his response, but the silence only stretched the more you waited. Albeit he didn’t say anything, the loud silence that followed your prompt was enough. "I didn’t think so, either."
Everything you did back then was necessary. Most of them broke your own heart, but you had to soldier on — especially since your mission’s success guaranteed your removal from Kihyun’s radar. Without such thing monitoring you behind your back, you weren’t burdened with the possibility of him ever finding out. That way, you felt more at ease about raising Kian away from him.
SVT was involved because you needed someone who had similar capabilities as MX. You needed someone who could help you cover your tracks — not just from MX, but also from anyone who might use you against either MX or SVT. You didn’t plan on involving anyone from MX in your escape, partly because it was too risky to do so, but mostly because you didn’t want any of them to break his trust. After all, as much as you didn’t agree that MX’s business was safe enough for Kian’s wellbeing, you value the brotherhood that formed because of it — and, thus, would rather not be the cause of a rift.
Silence followed after you finished answering his questions and follow-ups. However, just before Kihyun could comprehend that you were actually done and not merely taking a pause, you uttered something under your breath. "I needed you to hate me, so you can forget about me; so you can move on.
"I had hoped that you’d find someone else, in my absence. Someone more deserving of your affection. Someone who would love you without reservations, like I did. But, alas." A timid smile suddenly graced your features. Rather than happiness, though, it was an act paired with a tint of sadness in your eyes. You turned towards him, "I’m sorry fate has bound us, Yoo Kihyun."

chapter eighteen: the quietness after the storm
The Yoo Kihyun you knew as his significant other was different from the Yoo Kihyun you had to come back to. He was colder. Meaner. Harder to read.
Not that you were counting his personality change against him. After all, you — of all people — knew what prompted him to be more closed off. Plus, it wasn’t like you two were still comfortable enough with each other to treat one another the same way as before.
Sure, between snide remarks and verbal quarrels, you two were still courteous to one another. Sometimes, the actions were from conscious decisions. Most of the time, though, they were out of instinct — a habit even the passage of time couldn’t erase.
Truthfully, you never really cared if his courtesy was consciously or unconsciously made — just like he does whenever you do the same.
However, for his newest display of courtesy, you somehow found yourself wondering which root it was from. "W— what?"
"Come to bed," Kihyun, without any specifications to guide him, took your reply differently. "Don’t make me repeat it again."
"Why—?"
"Don’t read too much into it," he dismissed your inquiry before you could even finish. "I just need to make sure you don’t run."
You didn’t buy his excuse. Unfortunately, even if you tired yourself hoarse from giving Kihyun his long-overdue closure, you still didn’t think you could sleep alone. Which, ultimately, left you with no other choice.
When morning came, the distance you put before you closed your eyes appeared to have melted with the moon.
Kihyun’s arm, which was nowhere near you when you slept, somehow found its way to wrap around you. Sometime between the transition from night to day, you had somehow gravitated toward him — if he didn’t unconsciously pull you closer in his sleep, that was.
Perhaps it was part of the whole ‘preventing you from running’ ruse. Or perhaps it was just another one of your unerased habit from long ago. Either way, whatever the case might be, his sleeping figure was unarguably the very first thing you saw when you fluttered your eyes open.
There were a number of years when you thought waking up next to him was the only way to properly start your day. When you agreed to be his betrothed for your second gamble, you ultimately decided that continuing to put your life at risk by staying by his side was worth it if it meant you got to start your days with him; if it meant you always had him to give you strength for any awaiting obstacles. You used to believe, albeit quite naively, that everything would be alright, as long as you had him.
And, really, it was . . . until it wasn’t.
You flinched away and attempted to create more distance, immediately realizing that Kihyun probably wouldn’t appreciate your proximity once he regained consciousness. However, much to your surprise, his arm instantly tugged you back — almost on instinct. Perhaps, you could easily blame the sleepiness in your system, but you could swear his hold on you tightened.
You had somewhat mastered escaping a hold, without waking up the person that was holding onto you, thanks to both Kihyun and Kian over the years. However, it wasn’t always effective — especially if the latter was in a sensitive state of sleep.
Considering how Kihyun reacted when you flinched, you could only assume he was partially aware of his surroundings. Thus, if you move one more time, you would definitely wake him up. And as much as you didn’t want to disturb his sleep, you needed him to let you get ready.
After all, neither of you could be late for your own wedding.
Rather than having him wake up abruptly, you chose to ease him into it — just like you used to do back then. "Kihyun," you called softly with your voice hoarse with sleep.
You took a moment to admire him when your first tactic didn’t seem to work, no matter how much you called him. With his eyes closed and sleep cradling him, there was nothing intimidating about him. He was just Kihyun, the man you used to wake up next to, the man you gambled your life for. And, somehow, seeing him in this state reminded you of what it was — and what it could’ve been.
Unconsciously, your hand found its way to his face. Fortunately, before it can make any contact with his cheek, you were able to freeze it mid-air.
Waking Kihyun up by touching his face was a second resort tactic by the old you, the you that loved him with everything that you were. Not the you that left him alone. And certainly not the you that lied and took his child away.
After what you did, you were well-aware that you no longer deserve a lot of things. But, as it seemed, the universe was conspiring to prove you otherwise.
The instant Kihyun’s eyelids fluttered, you retracted your arm back to you. You had half a mind to turn away so he wouldn’t catch you staring, but you already made eye contact with him before you could even shift.
You didn’t know what you expected to happen then, all you knew was you never would’ve guessed the very first thing he uttered after waking up.
"Can you learn to love me again?"

chapter nineteen: the rainbow of the morning after
Your wedding was a small, private affair. That was, if you consider having the entirety of MX and SVT in attendance a short guest list — not to mention the core members of their respective allies.
Considering that your wedding wasn’t really a civilian affair, there were only a handful of civilians present. Even then, all guests — except your daughter — were aware of the true nature of the event. In some form or another, everyone present had ties — personal or otherwise — with a mafia gang.
Although it was undoubtedly your wedding with Kihyun, at its core, it was a mere way for MX and SVT to seal off their alliance. Given that you were only an unofficial member of SVT, you weren’t really consulted with any wedding matters. As such, Kihyun was probably the only one they let privy to its details — and considering how well you two got along, it was no surprise that no information was ever passed on to you.
Really, the only reason you knew the wedding was still happening was due to the days Nari and Hayeon dragged you to get fitted for your wedding attire — once to get your measurements taken and the other to make any necessary adjustments. Absurd as it was, Nari and Hayeon were required by their significant others — Minhyuk and Changkyun, respectively — to not let you see your attire, so even that was still out of your reach.
You absolutely had no idea why you were forbidden to see the only preview you had for your big day. Thankfully, with all the deadlines and other obligations you had, you didn’t really had the time to dwell on it.
When the scheduled day finally arrived, you then immediately understood why MX went through such lengths to keep you from seeing your outfit beforehand.
Your attire was the exact replica of your sketch from five years ago, down to the smallest detail. Albeit you weren’t a fashion designer by any means, you tried your best to sketch your dream wedding attire using your skills as a professional architect. During the eight months of your first engagement, you were also able to sketch Kihyun’s outfit as well, with details added according to his own suggestions and preferences. Furthermore, albeit it wasn’t finalized and mostly just a cloud of brainstormed ideas on paper, you were also able to get started on sketching how you imagined the venue to look like. Of course, just like you did for his suit, you also incorporated Kihyun’s opinions into them. After all, it was supposed to be your wedding.
All your wedding-related sketches were inside a single sketchbook, one you purposely didn’t mix with any other artwork. If you remembered correctly, it also served as a journal to you back then; it also housing a specific portion of your thoughts — starting from the night Kihyun proposed and ending with the day you completed your third gamble. You were fairly certain you were able to take it with you when you left your shared apartment, but misplaced it sometime before you left the country, so you weren’t entirely sure how SVT and/or MX could’ve extracted ideas from it.
One thing was for sure, though: that sketchbook was definitely used during the planning of the wedding.
"Are you ready?" Seungcheol was the one set to walk you down the aisle. According to him, since SVT was the one who extended the olive branch to MX, his party had to be the one walking down to symbolize that. However, in Jihoon’s account of events, you were the one chosen to walk down the aisle simply because Seungcheol lost to Hyunwoo in rock paper scissors.
As such, you were unable to watch Kian walk down as the designated flower girl. Thankfully, Nari and Hayeon — as well as Soonyoung and Mingyu — were more than ecstatic to record that moment for you.
"Ready." As if merely waiting for your confirmation, the double doors opened from the inside — to reveal the path you must walk on with Seungcheol.
Truth be told, you had been contemplating what you were supposed to feel on your wedding day since the people contracted to fix you up started doing their job. Somehow, you managed to convince yourself that you’d be indifferent — after all, your upcoming marriage was contractual. Yes, the person at the end of the aisle was the same as the one in your dreams, but the circumstances were no longer as they were back then.
There was no longer love involved, unlike when you used to dream of the day.
However, when you finally saw how venue was decorated — how the one in charge for the decorations incorporated your ideas from five years ago, despite your lack of direct involvement — you realized otherwise.
After all this time, there was still love — even if it was no longer how it used to be.
"He still loves you, you know," you heard your cousin whisper as you two continued your slow walk down the aisle.
"Wha— what?" You answered in surprise, slightly convinced that he could read your thoughts.
"Kihyun still loves you," Seungcheol repeated. "He never said it out loud, at least not when SVT’s around, but I can tell."
You inevitably made eye contact with Kihyun at the end of the aisle, precisely at the moment you suddenly felt overwhelmed. Although your cousin didn’t say it directly, based on how you noticed him glancing around the venue at the corner of your eye, you connected that he was most likely referring to the wedding itself — somehow implying that Kihyun played a greater role in the preparation than you initially thought. More specifically, it seemed like Seungcheol was implying that Kihyun took charge of the decorations — which hereby also imply that he was the one who deliberately incorporated your ideas into the wedding.
Despite the coldness of your relationship — or lack there of — ever since you crossed paths once more, Kihyun still cared enough about you to make your dream wedding from five years ago a reality. He had no reason to do that, especially since the wedding was merely for an alliance’s sake and he clearly loathed you for the decisions you had made in the past, but he still thought of you as he planned out everything.
Sure, it would be valid to argue that it was merely another display of consideration from his part — or even as a manifestation of an unerased habit from long ago. However, somehow, you knew it was more than just a habit. It was a conscious decision: an act deliberately made — not out of respect, but out of something else entirely.
"Yeah," you replied slowly as memories upon memories of his unerased mannerisms came flashing back. You began to wonder just how frequent his conscious kindness towards you actually showed itself, but you were just too oblivious to take notice of its true nature. "I can tell, too."
You sent a smile on Kihyun’s way, as a silent assurance since you could sense that he was getting worried about your probably-glossed eyes. "You two are the same."
Fortunately for Seungcheol, you had finally reached the end before you could even think about questioning his observation. "What were you guys talking about?" Unfortunately for your cousin, though, it also meant that Kihyun heard his last remark.
"Sea will tell you later, I’m sure." He replied dismissively and cryptically all at once. "For now . . . take care of my cousin for me."
Seungcheol passed your hand to Kihyun, completing his role as the person who extended the olive branch.
With the distance between the two of you now being a mere two steps, you were able to see into his eyes. And, somehow, even if you had looked him right in the eye before, you were barely noticing what his gaze held whenever he looked at you.
Past whatever emotions he was currently feeling, buried beneath time and the clouds, was love. Albeit it wasn’t as it was, with all the scars it picked up along the way, it still exist — more prominent now than it probably would’ve been, especially with the disappearance of the mist obscuring it from view.
You weren’t quite sure how his love survived underneath all hatred and loathing you implanted within its roots, but it did. Somehow.
And maybe, just maybe, you’d let yourself gamble once more.
Can you learn to love me again?
"I can’t love you again," you whispered, only intending for him to hear, "because I never stopped in the first place."

Oneshot
Fluff, Established Relationship Au
Word Count: 1,555
Kihyun X Reader
Requested: for the 12 days of winter, can I request #10 “Mistletoe… my arch enemy” with Kihyun? Thank you!! ☃️
Prompt: 9. “Mistletoe… my arch enemy”
------
Kihyun spends every year decorating the dorm for their annual Christmas party. It’s something that he enjoys. So, when he invites you, it's not only to celebrate the holiday together. It's also to show you his hard work. And honestly, you couldn’t wait to see all his decorations. He came over to your house the night before brimming with excitement, “I want to see your reaction firsthand when we walk in together.” You shook your head at him but couldn’t help but grin, knowing how much hard work he put into it.
While Kihyun is getting dressed for the festivities, you're sitting at your desk doing your last-minute wrapping. You hear him hum and turn towards him. He asks, “Ready, baby?” You look down at your outfit and wipe off a few pieces of wrapping shred, “Yeah!” He pulls you up from your chair, spins you into his arms, and kisses your cheek. You blush as he leads you to the front door. You both pull on your shoes and coats before walking hand in hand to the party.
You gasp as you reach the outside of the dorm. He decorated the outside with Christmas trees wrapped in garland and ceramic snowmen holding welcome signs leading toward the entrance. He unlocks the door, and you notice the beautiful wreath outside the door. You grin before seeing his holy grail: the living room. It looks like he’s been working on this for months. When in reality, he texted you that he was starting to decorate the dorm last Monday. He went full out from white Christmas string lights that line the room and hang down from the ceiling to hanging ornaments and stars from the string lights, making it look like a Christmas wonderland. He watches you with delight as you let out little oohs and ahhs as you take in everything.
And that's when you see his miniature village that lines the wall. He smiles and leads you closer to it, “There’s a house for all seven of us that live at the dorms.” You nod, and he smiles, “That’s our house.” He points to a beautiful two-story miniature with little dogs in Santa hats and two village people kissing. And you giggle before saying, “You made us so cute. Oh, it’s all so lovely, Ki. You've worked so hard.” He fills with pride as he points out each little thing he did. Like how he made the mixture of snow with cotton and glue. And how he used fishing wire to hang the bulbs and stars.
You watch him excitedly tell you about it all. And you hang onto his every word, “What about the Santa hats on each photo frame?” He smiles, “I used that blue putty to attach each hat.” He leads you to the photo you both took together last Christmas, “You gave me a (f/c) hat?” He nods, “I tried to get everyone’s favorite color hat, but I made yours and mine specially.” You look over at him, “Seriously?” He smiles, “I used the regular foam colors for everyone but yours and mine.” You nod, and he continues, “I mixed acrylic paint to make the colors of our hats.” You blink your tears back to avoid them rolling down your cheeks. But you smile at him and kiss his cheek, “I love all of your decorations, but your attention to detail is my favorite.” He smiles, and you pull him in for a hug. He wraps his arms around you, and you squeeze him.
When you pull away, he leads you down the hallway and shows you the pine-like garland he looped along the walls and each wreath he hung on every door. You ask, “Did the boys help you at all?” That’s when Jooheon comes out of his room and says, “He never lets us do anything past putting out the boxes and decorating the main tree together.” You shake your head at him, “He’s a cute perfectionist, ain’t he?” “He’s a perfectionist, alright.” You hide your laugh as Jooheon continues, “Definitely not as cute as me.” You laugh, and as he leaves, Kihyun pouts, and you kiss it away. “You’re way cuter.” He nods, “And?” You sigh, “And handsome.” He smiles, satisfied with your answer, “I swear you learned that from Joo and Min.” He shrugs, “It comes in handy.” You shake your head, and you continue your tour.
You both exit the hallway, and he walks you through the living room to the kitchen. The party was starting to get into full swing when you see it, “Mistletoe…” You glare at it as you grow closer to it. And continue, “My arch enemy.” He raises his eyebrow and gives you a confused look, “What? Why is that?” You shrug at his question and put your hands in your pocket. “I’ve never been kissed under it.” He laughs and shakes his head, “I’m surprised. Someone as cute as you should have been already.” He pulls your left hand out of your pocket and goes, “Come on.” You tilt your head at him, “Why?” He grins, “You’ll see.” He has you follow him to the opening and stops under the mistletoe. “Would you mind if I was your first?” You blush and shake your head, and he holds your cheek in his free hand and brings you in for a short yet sweet kiss.
You hear loud cheers of “(Y/n)!” and “Kihyun!” You turn beet red as you look over to see Hoseok holding a camera and taking a photo of you while Minhyuk cheers for you two to kiss again. Kihyun leans in to ask, “Want to give them a show?” You smirk, your confidence soaring with him in front of you, and give him a nod. He moves his hand from beside your jaw to underneath and kisses you deeply. The two hoot and holler as you move your free hand into his hair and weave your fingers through, deepening the kiss. When he pulls away, you’re both left breathless. The other two are busy looking through their camera shots, but you can only see him. His cheeks are a rosy-red, and he’s grinning at you, “How was that for your first time under the mistletoe?” You mirror his grin and say, “I hope it happens many more times.” He smiles and squeezes your interlocked hands as you release your grip on his hair.
You kiss his nose for good measure before you both walk into the kitchen and grab some snacks to eat. He carries your shared plate, and you get your first drinks of the evening. As you walk back underneath the mistletoe, you grin as you pull him into your arms, and he gasps as you pull him into a kiss this time. You linger in the passageway before pulling away to continue walking and laugh, “I didn’t know my arch enemy could become my most revered friend.” He smirks, “You know that’s not the only time you can kiss me, right?” You shrug, “But it’s more special that way.” He shakes his head and kisses your forehead as you sit together on the couch. You crack open your drinks and say, “Cheers to many more mistletoe kisses?” He laughs and cheers, “To many more!” You clink them together before drinking from them. You smile and snuggle into his side as you both eat your snacks.
You both end up under the mistletoe many more times. For something you hated before because you never experienced it, you certainly couldn’t get enough of it now that you had. And as long as it was making you happy, Kihyun was more than happy to oblige. Although you partake in games and feast, the plant is the most exciting part. And who were you to resist, especially when you get to kiss a guy like Kihyun?
As the last few guests filter out and all of you have rid the dorm of litter. And the rest of the members have retired to their rooms. You dance with Kihyun to the Christmas music that's softly filtering out of the speakers. You sway in his arms as you look over to the mistletoe. He whispers, “You wish to be kissed under there again?” You shrug as you look into his eyes, “Here’s fine, too.” He gives you a small kiss before spinning you underneath the mistletoe and kisses you again. When he pulls away, you wait a moment before pulling him back in, “Because one is never enough.”
You continue swaying underneath the mistletoe before hearing something clattering. You catch Changkyun sliding through the space between the island and cabinets to get a glass of water. You two snicker as he mumbles, “I can’t wait for you two to get tired of the mistletoe.” Kihyun smirks, “You’re just jealous you didn’t get to kiss anyone under it this year.” He scoffs as grabs his glass of water, “Good night, (Y/n). Good night, Ki...” You two giggle at Changkyun as he scoots back through the way he came. When he's made it safely back into his room, Kihyun asks, “One more, for good ole time's sake?” You nod, “Yeah, and then you can put it away tomorrow.” He smiles and brings you in for one last kiss underneath the mistletoe.

Luring
Pairing: Yoo Kihyun x Reader Siren AU Genre: Fluff; Horror (if you squint) Words: 1206 Warnings: implied murder

Captivating. Enchanting. How does one describe a voice so beautiful? A voice so mesmerizing that you could tune out anything and everything else. A voice so hypnotizing that you wanted to forget everything else.
🎃
You hadn’t meant to find Kihyun. Although, you weren’t so sure if you found Kihyun or if he had lured you to him. Walking along the beach, you felt compelled to explore the rocky coves nearby, and the closer you’d gotten, the louder the singing was.
You knew what a siren was and how dangerous they supposedly were; but, when he had you in his sight, he smiled and the sun seemed to shine a little brighter.
🎃
You’d been visiting Kihyun for a couple weeks. He was a bit shy at first and would only sing to lure you to him, but as time had passed, he opened up. He was sweet, a great listener, and decent at giving advice. You also learned that he was quite the smooth talker when he wanted to be.
He told you stories of sea creatures and sailors. He told you stories of the love he watched his friends experience and how he longed to experience it himself someday. Your heart fluttered when he eyed you a little longer after saying it, but no one else needed to know that.
The next time you returned to visit, he had set up a picnic of sorts. You weren’t sure how he got all the items, since he was a sea-locked being, but maybe he had a secret friend or something to help him.
It was a lovely lunch and a bit romantic, but you quickly realized that was on purpose. He was trying to woo you, and it was working. He had wine and dined you; his eyes never strayed too far from your own, and then he serenaded you again with a more sensual version of the song he so often entranced you with. As the evening unfolded, the atmosphere became charged with an unspoken tension. The sea breeze played with your hair, and Kihyun’s words lingered in the air like a promise.
🎃
You visited Kihyun more often after that.
And when you did, you both sat a little closer; your hands lingered longer, and lips pressed places they probably shouldn’t have. You told him stories of traveling and of city life. You opened up about your family, and he cried with you when you told him about some of the sadder moments of your life.
It only took another week before you both uttered words that should’ve been forbidden to creatures from different worlds. You said it first, but he didn’t hesitate to follow; and you shared the night together—acting as though your first might be your last together.
🎃
When you woke, you were wrapped in a soft fabric and surrounded by the smell of seaweed and salt. You opened your eyes to a dark, but beautiful, cave—the only light came from the reflections of water against the walls. Your clothes were back on, though they sat a bit weirdly on your body. Kihyun had likely tried his best to dress you after you fell asleep last night, but he wasn’t able to get you dressed quite properly. As you remembered your sea-bound lover, you wondered where he might be. He must’ve been the reason for your being in the cave.
You looked around at your surroundings. The fabric around your bodies was the picnic blanket from a few weeks ago. The cave looked rather empty, but a few things were neatly piled around in a far corner.
You carefully made your way over to the glittering objects. Jewelry, coins, utensils, even shiny junk, layed in a carefully curated heap. It occurred to you that it likely belonged to Kihyun, so you were careful not to disturb it too much, but rifled through it with curiosity.
Maybe what those people say about curiosity is right because as you came across a particular ring, you felt your blood run cold as though you died on the spot. You pulled the object closer, inspecting it in the darkness of the cave, praying you were wrong about what you had just discovered.
The ring was one you were all too familiar with. Your family’s crest engraved into the top and on either side were the birthstones of your parents. You had admired the ring many times growing up, twisting it around your father’s finger in fascination time and time again. But the ring had disappeared along with your father about four years ago. Neither were ever seen again.
One morning he went out for an early beach jog, and the next morning the police were telling you they would do their best to look for him.
Your heart pounded in your chest and ears; your stomach felt like it took up residency in your throat. Your eyes darted around the cove—you weren’t sure what you were looking for exactly, but you knew whatever it was didn’t bode well for your anxiety.
When no immediate danger made itself known, you allowed yourself a shaky breath. No skeletons littered the walls either, which was also a good sign considering the path your mind hand wandered down. Perhaps it was as simple as Kihyun finding it lost in the ocean post your father’s disappearance rather than taking it from his corpse.
All you could do was wait for the merman to return. Your fingers fidgeted with the ring in your hand, toying with putting it on and taking it off. Eventually you fell asleep.
🎃
You awoke several hours later to a gentle humming and a hand caressing down your hair. You blinked up at him, unsure how to react to his presence as your nerves returned tenfold.
Wordlessly, you held up the ring to be eye-level with him. He eyed the shiny treasure with recognition; his eyes briefly strayed to glance at his small horde of other shinies. You asked him how he got the ring and when his head tilted slightly in contemplation, you felt your stomach lurch again.
Your jaw clenched in anticipation, awaiting his explanation. When his eyes finally brightened with recognition, his face slowly morphed to a rather unnerving smirk. He told you the story with pride.
An early morning, usually undisturbed, a man had wandered upon his territory. Kihyun had not lured him, rather he happened upon him. They had talked for awhile, but Kihyun could easily tell that the man was planning on telling authorities and news outlets about him and his rocky cove.
According to Kihyun, his eyes shone with greed, and his questions were lined with ulterior motives. Kihyun had done what was necessary to protect himself and his kind. He spared you the gory details, but that didn’t stop you from expelling the minimal contents of your stomach.
The siren rubbed careful circles to your back, but the touch made you want to shrivel up inside. Despite his confusion at your reaction, he did his best to try soothing you; he even began humming the tune you’d grown to love so much.
But rather than comfort you, the sound echoed in your head like dissonant warning bells.

All That Glitters
Chapter 1:
Kihyun x Reader series
WC: 1.8k
A/N: Have I finished my last Kihyun series? No. Is that going to stop me from starting one about reluctant!fairyboy Kihyun? Also no.
Someone is cursing.
It’s quiet. You’d have missed it were you not just now getting to bed, eyelids dropping as you stagger towards your room. It’s soft enough to not wake a light sleeper. Soft enough to make you think you're hearing things in the dark, exhaustion playing tricks on your brain.
That must be it. One too many coffees and not enough sleep, and you’re imagining this. Hallucinating, really, because when you walk through the door, there’s a…thing writhing in the middle of your floor, and if this is real you’re very likely in mortal peril.
You can’t bring yourself to care.
It’s…sparkling. That's the first thing you notice, flakes of gold winking at you from thick wavy hair, sprinkled across broad shoulders. You follow the trail of glitter down toned arms and dark fabric as your brain pieces together reality, and suddenly the image resolves.
You flip a switch and the everything stops.
Unaccustomed to the brightness and not entirely awake, you blink, once, twice, squinting past the light to identify the intruder in your room.
The intruder is a person.
Brown eyes stare back at you in shock, pools so deep you could fall into them, and silence hangs frozen in the air.
The moment is broken by the other being in the room, as the creature – you hadn’t noticed it before, it was so small – loses interest. It barks and starts to squirm, drawing the man’s attention back to it. He shushes it, voice firmer now, not having to fear being caught. A thin length of something dark, like shadow come alive, wriggles out of the darkness below them. He seems to be waiting for it, catches the free end with one hand, the other resting soothingly on the creature’s back.
For all the good it does.
The creature takes advantage of his captor’s weakened grip. Between one moment and the next it’s barreling free, barking excitedly as it rushes towards where you stand stupefied in the doorway. The man scrambles after a beat too slow and it slips between your legs, escaping into the house.
He comes up short in front of you, clearly wanting to follow but not enough to brush you aside. More yips erupt behind you, the shadow creature encouraging the chase, and the man swears again.
“Is that your…dog?” You hesitate, the first words you’ve spoken. It didn’t really look like a dog from the glimpse you’d gotten. Too small, not shaped quite right. Not entirely corporeal.
“It’s a bongsukss.” He sighs. He’s still looking past you, worried brow impatient. He has very nice eyebrows, you muse, even scrunched as they are.
You’re not sure how to interact with an NPC in this strange fantasy game you’ve dreamt yourself into, but it seems like he needs help. The term side quest drifts through your head and then you’re moving without thinking, turning out the door.
“I’ll help.”
Whatever a bongsukss is, it's not much different from a dog. It seems to regard the whole thing as a game, running in circles as the two of you give chase. It thwarts your attempts to corner it, squirming past – almost through – furniture, always just out of reach. The bongsukss slips under the coffee table and the man dives after as it comes out the other side, missing by a hair. It watches for a moment with a satisfied gleam in its eye before loosing another chorus of ecstatic barks and dashing away.
Dream-man is still kneeling on the floor by the coffee table, looking exasperated. Time to change tactics.
“I’m thirsty. Can I get you something to drink? Tea?” You turn on heel towards the kitchen without waiting for a response. “The doors are locked, he’s not going anywhere. Just wait for him to calm down.”
“That won’t stop a bongsukss,” he scoffs. “Things from the Neverwoods can phase through walls.” His disdain for your ignorance is evident. How silly of you, to forgot such an important fact about Neverwoods creatures.
He’s awfully rude for a dream-man.
The kitchen is tiny, barely enough space for the two-burner stove and the refrigerator, but you don’t have to share it with your cheating bastard of an ex, so it works for you.
You’re not cooking much these days, anyway.
The pantry is bare, only a few stray packages of instant ramen and a box of tea. You don’t need more. You have a cellphone and a credit card, and a very friendly delivery girl who knows you by name.
Maybe sometimes the orders are less because you’re hungry than they are for interaction with someone who knows your name, makes you feel a little less alone. It’s just sustenance. Everyone needs to eat. You shove away a wave of self-pity.
Enough of that for one lifetime.
Kettle set to boil, you focus on the problem at hand. There are strangers in your living room. He’d said it wasn’t a dog, but…it still seemed to act like an animal. And animals, at least, were straightforward creatures. You understood animals.
Whispers float towards you, the man desperately cajoling the creature with praises, enticing it to behave, promising treats if only it will come out so they can go home.
Trust a man to think sweet words will fix everything.
“Do Neverwoods creatures like chicken?” You call, head in the fridge. The pickings are slim, but you doubt it wants the noodles from last week. So much for your emergency meal.
Silence. Then, defensively – “Is that a kind of food?”
You kick the door shut with too much force, balancing a take-out carton in one hand, tea in the other, a slam that startles a surprised quiet from the living room. Who is this guy? You’re not sure whether to be disgusted or impressed. Doesn’t know what chicken is, my ass.
The creature – the bongsukss, you correct yourself – is nowhere to be seen. The man, though, is crouched front of the couch, and you can see him mouthing the word to himself like something foreign.
“Chiiiik hen? Chi kin? Chic...ken?”
You ignore him. Easier to reason with the dog-bongsukss than with its owner, especially if he wants to play dumb. He scrambles away at your approach, watching apprehensively as you squat down with the plate of leftovers.
“Bongsukss want some chicken? Hm?” You nudge the plate towards the opening under the couch.
“He’s not stupid.” The man seems offended, that you’d think his pet so simple. “A bongsukss is a highly intelligent–“
His pet betrays him in that moment, charging from its hiding place so suddenly it slides, losing traction on the floor in its rush to bury its face in your leftovers. You watch with an odd sort of fascination as the food slowly disappears and the bongsukss changes color, from shadowy grey to something almost iridescent, shimmering. Like a bubble.
“…is that normal?” And then, the more important question – “Can I touch it?”
“If you must.” He doesn’t have to be so bitter. You’re only trying to help.
Must is a strong word, but something about the creature is hypnotic. The bongsukss is ethereal now that it's distracted, fragile-looking. You’re hesitant to touch it, worried that may burst on contact, like an actual bubble.
The fur or skin, whatever it is, is exquisitely silky under your fingertips. The strokes grow bolder, firmer when your hand makes contact and you’re confident you won’t go straight through it. You graduate to gentle, whole handed pets, careful not to disturb its meal.
The man rearranges himself on the floor cross-legged, settling in now that his pet is under control. He props his head on a hand, looking at you the way you’re looking at the bongsukss; reluctant fascination.
“He does that when he’s happy. He was upset with me earlier and slipped his leash.” The man heaves a sigh, and you glance at him.
He looks normal, aside from all the glitter. Dressed casually in a hooded sweatshirt and jeans, he doesn’t seem all that different from your ex. Objectively more attractive, but still just a guy. A very, very sparkly guy. He looks like he rolled in the stuff, a casualty of a craft explosion, but he seems to pull it off.
Maybe you’re more desperate than you thought, letting this tinsel-man pique your interest.
You’re staring. His ears turn a little pink and he tugs at the neck of his hoodie, clearing his throat to catch your attention. “I’m Kihyun, by the way. I, uh. Thanks. For helping with my bongsukss.”
“Dangsin. And you’re welcome.” No questions about whether this was a dream, reassurances that you weren’t dying or had eaten take-out a little too past its prime. Quiet acceptance, just like everything else.
The two of you sit in awkward silence, listening to the tiny noises the bongsukss makes while it eats, and you cast about the room for any sort of discussion topic.
That’s when you notice. The consequences of your vain attempts to trap the bongsukss.
The house is a mess.
Glitter dusts every bare surface, twinkling in the overhead light, and you can’t help a groan.
Fucking pixie dust. That’s just what you needed in your life. People thinking you were easy and a stripper. Kihyun seems to understand without being told what you’re upset about, realizes it at the same time you do.
You’re surprised when he gets up, quiet and determined, and starts brushing gold dust off the coffee table and into his palm. “I’m sorry about the mess,” and by the way his shoulders sag, he truly is sorry. “Do you have a vacuum?”
There’s a broom tucked in the corner by the fridge. It’s not as efficient as a vacuum would be, but you don’t have carpet and you’d left so many of your things in your haste to get out, to get away, that you haven’t finished replacing it all.
The broom will do.
You offer to help, put an unthinking hand out to cut off his protests, but he shoos you away. “This is my responsibility. Just keep an eye on bongsukss and make sure he doesn’t fall asleep.”
Another you, a waking you, might be ashamed to watch a stranger clean your house.
This you enjoys opportunity to study him unobserved.
He's surprisingly thorough, doesn’t settle for a half-hearted swipe across the coffee table or dirt kicked into the corners. Is it bad to think that despite the condescending attitude and trespassing, he’s already an improvement over the other men in your life?
Min-ho had been sweet, in the beginning. But he’d never mopped, or helped sort the trash, or did the dishes. He was always too exhausted after work, never mind that you worked, too. Crazy how much it had hurt in the moment, but pain was fading into anger with time, as you realized just how wrong it had all been. More child than partner; that was Min-ho.
But this is a dream, and there's a snarky, sparkly, intriguing man in front of you, and you don’t have to think about Min-ho anymore.
“What are the Neverwoods?”
A/N 2: "Dangsin" is a form of 'you' in Korean. Consider it a Y/N.

Misfortunes - Yoo Kihyun
Tumblr media
Summary: You were on the way to Seoul by train. Instead of taking a flight, you decided to use the cheaper version with the train. But unfortunately, the day wasn’t a good one. Everything went wrong from the beginning. But meeting four guys made the journey less miserable.
Tumblr media
It was supposed to be a normal train journey from Busan to Seoul. Never did anything go wrong while you took this route. You took it more than enough. But of course, on your birthday something had to go wrong. The first train towards the Busan Station was completely fine, but as soon as you sat on the second train the misfortune started.
You had no idea if this was the correct train due to the display outside on the platform not working. Even the train had no display showing if it was going the correct way. You simply trusted the railway to let the train depart on the platform the ticket said it would depart on. It wasn’t something you enjoyed. You were already anxious walking through the grand main station of Busan, hoping you had found the correct platform and now this just added to the whole nervousness.
You entered the train nevertheless and looked for your seat. As you looked around a group of guys already sat in the four-seat department with a table. You locked eyes with the black-haired person who seemed to be tall.
“I think the seat on the window is mine." you smiled.
“Ah sorry. I will move over.” A man with light brown hair got up. He had a soft voice.
The black-haired man who sat next to him got up and let his friend change seats while you sat on the seat he sat in before. You sat down and almost stepped on the foot of the red-haired in front of you. “Sorry. It’s a bit tight here.” You shyly said.
“No worries. We are tall so there isn’t much space left for you.” The red-haired person said.
The black-haired man sat back down next to you, and they continued the conversation they had. You didn’t understand anything though because you are not fluent in Korean. Only a few words and it was not enough to understand full conversations like this. Therefore, you put your earphones in and started to listen to your music.
You continued that routine until your train stopped at one of the stations and didn’t depart. You took one of your earphones out and heard that there was an announcement. The problem was that you couldn’t understand what it was. You only heard the groaning of native speakers which gave you an idea it was nothing good.
“Excuse me? Could you tell me what the announcement said? My Korean isn’t this good.”
The black-haired man next to you looked at you. “They said that this train has a technical problem and will depart in 70 minutes.” He explained.
“Seventy? That’s a long time!” You looked shocked around.
“Some important place to go to?” The red-haired asked.
“No, just a friend of mine waiting at the main station in Seoul. She already had to leave for that which means she will wait there in the cold.” You poured.
“Misfortune. Maybe she will go into one of the warm cafés and wait there for you.” The red-haired reassured you.
“It’s one misfortune after another.” You responded.
The black-haired man next to you looked again at you. And you had to admit that he was extremely attractive and even his side profile was something to look at. It was as if you were looking at art that no one could duplicate.
“That bad?”
“The way to Busan was alright, but since I arrived here it was one misfortune after another. The lift didn’t work so I had to go to the escalators that were also out of work. So, I had to carry my suitcase all the way up to the platform only to realise neither the platform had a display nor the train itself. Until the conductor came, I thought I was on the wrong train.” You chuckled.
“You could have asked us.” The red-haired man said.
“I didn’t want to disturb.” You admitted.
“Nah don’t worry. We all can speak English so don’t be afraid.” He smiled.
“Thanks!” You smiled. “Seventy minutes. I am not prepared for this amount of delay.
“What do you mean?” The black-haired man asked.
“I don’t have any food. I expected to eat dinner with my friend at the station once I arrived.” You admitted defeatedly.
“You could buy something on the train. Sure, it’s a bit more expensive but it's emergency.” The red-haired explained.
“I have no money with me. I was about to change it once I arrived.” You explained.
“You are really not prepared huh.” The man next to you said. “I can buy you something if you want. You don’t have to give it back.” He added.
“Maybe I take that offer later when I am getting extremely hungry.” You smiled.
“Alright. By the way, I am Kihyun. The man across from you is Jooheon. Next to him is Hyungwon. The person who sat on your seat before is Minhyuk. And across from him is Changkyun.” Kihyun smiled.
“Nice to meet you all. I am (Y/N).” You smiled.
“We spend a lot of time together, I guess. I assume you go to Seoul as well?”
“What gave it away?” Kihyun leaned back in his seat and crossed his arms on his chest, looking at you.
“You look like you’re from the city. And I don’t hear a Busan accent. I may not understand Korean well, but I can hear accents out.” You smiled.
“That’s the first step to learning the language,” Jooheon said.
“First time in Korea?” Kihyun wondered.
You nodded. “Yes, my friend moved here a few years ago and now we finally have the chance to meet again. So here I am.” You smiled.
“Why haven’t you taken a flight to Incheon and then the train?” Hyungwon this time spoke up.
“Oh, it was cheaper to fly to Busan and then continue with the train rather than fly to Incheon. Don’t ask me why, guess it was just my country's problem.” You chuckled and the guys joined.
“Do you have any plans?” Minhyuk, the person who used to sit in your place looked over to you and asked.
“Honestly, I have no idea. My friend said she would surprise me with everything she does. All I know is that we will enjoy a lot of local food.” You explained.
“That already sounds like a great plan.” Kihyun smiled.
“And you any plans?” You looked at Kihyun.
“Well, we have some business meetings. So, nothing that enjoyable.” Kihyun explained with a pout.
“I am sure you’ll find some time within to do something else as well. I assume you live in that area after all.” You looked on the phone to see the time as the train continued its journey.
“We do live in Seoul. We all live together.” Kihyun admitted.
“Oh really? Never met grown men who live together.” You responded.
“We are in the music business,” Hyungwon said, earning a glare from Kihyun.
“You’re K-pop idols?” You asked looking at all of them.
“Yes,” Changkyun said in his deep voice.
“Interesting. What is something you love the most about your job?” You looked at them.
Kihyun met your eyes, a bit surprised about your response. “I would say the concerts and seeing fans. I always get happy seeing them.”
“Understandable.” You smiled.
“For me, it’s the travelling,” Hyungwon responded.
“It must be great to see so many places.” You mused.
“It can be exhausting though,” Jooheon added.
“Oh, I am sure. But I think the photos after the trip or the moment you step before the fans the stress and exhaustion are forgotten for a moment” you assumed.
“Totally. I think we are happy then. And forget about the long flight.” Kihyun added.
You nodded and smiled. “What’s your band's name if I am allowed to ask.”
“Monsta X” Jooheon responded.
“Oh? You’re Monsta x? I listen to your music for years. I just never saw your faces because I was so busy with my daily life.” Your eyes lit up.
“Well, then hello, we are Monsta X. Nice to see someone who streams our music.” Changkyun smiled.
“Now my misfortunes are forgotten.” You chuckled as the members laughed.
The conversations went on for hours. It was really great to talk with them. They were so down to earth and talked with you as if you had been friends with them for a while. They translate announcements for you and even teach you a few important words you might need in the future. You simply enjoyed the trip since you met them. But the trip was slowly coming to an end, and you really didn’t like it.
“(Y/N). It’s now only ten minutes until we arrive at Seoul Station. And I wanted to ask if you could give me your phone number. I’d like to show you a part of Seoul as a native.” Kihyun asked looking into your eyes.
You smile. “Sure!” You took his phone and entered your phone number and name. “Here,” you smiled.
“Oh, you have Kakao Talk?” He looked back up from his phone and you nodded.
The guys look over to Kihyun. “Come on, add her to the group chat!” Changkyun suggested.
“We wanna talk with her too!” Jooheon added.
“alright alright. I added her.” He chuckled. “I am the hamster,” Kihyun explained.
“I see you all have some animals as icons.” You chuckled and added everyone after they explained who was who.
“The bear is another member of us, but he is in the military right now,” Kihyun explained.
“Alright then don’t be strangers I’d say.” You smiled.
“Oh, we won’t. You will wish to never have met us because we will spam that group chat.” Jooheon grinned.
“He is not lying. I know them since 2015 and I am in that chat for the time being and I get annoyed.” Hyungwon added, grinning as everyone looked at him madly.
“Well, I can leave for now. You have to endure the consequences of the sentence now.”
“Oh, you’re right!” Hyungwon realised and was shocked.
“Good luck! We see us soon!” You waved them goodbye as you departed the train and walked in two different directions.
And with that, a journey that had started as a misfortune and anxious moment turned into a friendship with locals and a fun trip with conversations and jokes. Your birthday turned out great after all. Even though they didn’t know it was your birthday they gave you a great gift by making your thoughts stop and the journey end quickly.

Their s/o likes to play with their hair
Requests are open!
Notes: sorry this is so late anon! I took a little break from requests, but I’m so glad you enjoy my writing. I hardly ever get requests for the boys but I’m so happy when I do! 💕
Anon asks: Hi, I saw that you opened the requests for the boys from MX, I have a lot of ideas but I don't want to be a bother 😅, so I just picked the one I thought was the most adorable: Like how would they react when you pet and play with their hair? Do they get sleepy, feel calmer, or just get annoyed that you messed up their hairstyle? Lol Also, thank you so much for including Wonho in these, i miss them all together 🥹 sorry for the long text, i love your imagines💟
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
♡Shownu♡
While he doesn’t understand your adoration for his hair, it feels so nice when you pet through it he forms mind at all. He’s always giving you head pats in return <3 He’ll definitely fall asleep while you do it though, and oftentimes asks you to do it to help him fall asleep.
♡Minhyuk♡
He likes to wrap his arms around and lay against you as you okay with his hair. He finds it so endearing, he’ll let your hair back or draw little shapes and squiggles on your leg as you both talk for the evening.
♡Kihyun♡
He cherishes any and all affection you give him. It feels so nice to have you aimlessly playing with his hair. No matter how long you’ve been together his face always gets a little red when you do it, or just dote on him in general.
♡Hyungwon♡
He’s always ruffling your hair so you decided to do the same for him. He pretends it’s annoying and you’re messing up his hair, but you both know he loves it. He sighs in content and falls asleep fast cuddled in your lap after a long day.
♡Jooheon♡
He thinks it’s silly, but doesn’t mind. He really only wants you to do it when the two of you are in bed, talking about your days and drifting off to sleep. It’s not his favorite display of affection, but as long as you’re with him it doesn’t matter.
♡Changkyun♡
He doesn’t mind and finds it cute if you’re part. He’s known for picking at your hair and telling it around as well. It makes him feel loved and all soft, it puts his mind at ease.
♡Wonho♡
He loves any and all love you give him. He’ll lean into you, snuggling closer as you okay with his hair. It’s gentle quality time spent together. He’ll let you do whatever you want with his his hair. Gently twirl it, place tug it, twist it into little pigtails, or decorate it with your hair clips.

Day 4: Kihyun + Changkyun 🎄 Threesome
Kinkmas 2023
Kihyun could hardly remember how you all ended up here, but all was quickly forgotten when drowned in pleasure. And the slick warmth of your tongue sliding over his cock as it filled your gorgeous mouth was more than enough to do the job. He was hardly aware of Changkyun's presence, although the vibrations of your moans and the way your mouth somewhat rattled around his cock as you took Changkyun's dick was enough to remind him. And then his eyes reopened and he was able to again take in the filthy, lovely sight before him. God, he wanted to just lean in and cover every part of your perfect body in kisses, have his hands on every last inch of you. Fuck, was he ruined. Absolutely fallen for you now.
"So fucking tight, baby," Changkyun moaned, once again pulling Kihyun back to reality. He felt like a balloon, floating away into a beautiful blue sky, full of fictional scenarios with you that he knew would never come true, then getting yanked back down to earth, to reality. But reality was feeling more unreal with each passing second. He realized the repeated chanting of your name he was hearing was spilling from his own lips, and without warning, he's pushed over the edge, shuddering and covering your mouth in his cum. A chuckle from you pierced through the blissed out ringing that filled his ears, and his eyes refocused on your face.
"Oh shit, I'm sorry," he stumbled, fumbling for something to clean you up, feeling so guilty the second he sees your skin glistening with streaks of white, your plush pink lips glossed with his cum.
"'S alright," you giggled, your soft tongue poking out to lick your lips clean, although that was only a fraction of what painted your skin. "Just a little warning next time, yeah?"
"Yeah, yeah, God, I'm sorry..."
"What, done already, Kihyun?" Changkyun teased with a dark laugh of his own, shoving his cock deeper into you, biting hard on his lip, and making you moan as Kihyun clumsily wiped at your face with the fabric of his previously discarded shirt. Holding your cheek and watching your face contort in pleasure as you got railed was driving him absolutely mad, and as desperately as he wanted to, Kihyun didn't know if he could keep going. He was afraid if he did, there would be no turning back and your friendship would be ruined forever. "Can't say I blame you," Changkyun continued. "I know how good she is with her mouth." God, that was an understatement if Kihyun ever heard one. "Just let me know if you wanna switch." Switch? Like...he could fuck you? You'd let him fuck you? Kihyun didn't know why that hadn't really occurred to him as a real possibility, but now that the cards were on the table, his lust took the reins from his logic and the words spilled out before he could even process them.
"Hell yeah I do."
That almost made Changkyun laugh out loud. "Oh, now he's confident." Changkyun stopped and pulled out, pulling your hips back to sit you back down at his side. His hand slid down your bare back, settling on your ass with a squeeze. "You hear that, baby? Now that he might get to be inside your pussy he's found his words."
You got onto all fours and crawled across the bed towards Kihyun. "No...those words have been there." You knelt in front of him and curved your hands over his shoulders. "For a long time. Haven't they?" Your question came out soft and gentle and felt rhetorical; he could tell you knew he liked you, for a while now. You brought your lips close to his but didn't let them touch, just brush slightly, feeling the electricity between you. Kihyun's breath was shaky, uncertain, but thrumming with lust all the same. "I know you think about me," you said, threading a hand through his hair and raising goosebumps over his entire body. "You wanna fuck me, Kihyun?" You whispered sensually, hoping to let him forget the other man in the room, if only for a moment.
He swallowed hard and nodded, gradually earning his confidence.
"Then do it."

Greatest Gift
Summary: This Christmas might just change everything, but in the best way possible.
Oneshot
Fluff, Established Relationship au
Word Count: 2,328
Kihyun x Reader
Prompt: 12. Make your own prompt. - "You're the most beautiful gift I could have ever hoped for. A gift I want to keep forever. Will you allow me?" ------ I was thinking Christmas proposal/ engagement 🤭 ------ Gender neutral ------ With the one and only Yoo Kihyun 🤩 ------ Thank you and happy holidays!
[A/n: I think I physically ascended when I first read this and pictured him saying it. And to whoever sent this ask, just know I love you and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season. This was absolutely self-indulgent for me. I hope it’s very indulgent for you too.]
------
It was finally Christmas morning, and you couldn't be more excited as you opened your eyes. When you were a kid, you’d wake up at six am sharp, rushing over to the Christmas tree, hurrying your parents down the stairs to open presents. While the excitement faded a bit over the years, you still were excited to spend the whole day with Kihyun. Who, for the past seven Christmases, made you feel the joy of the holiday again.
You throw the blanket down, ready to run down, until you notice Kihyun isn't beside you, ready to push you out of the way as he runs to the tree, too. Your heart sinks, worrying that he left without you, before the door opens, and in pops Kihyun.
You sigh, full of relief, as he enters, “Don't worry, I didn't start unwrapping without you.” You smile as he walks in with a tray full of breakfast foods. He carefully walks, not wanting to spill anything. You hold your hands out and grab the tray after moving his blanket back so he can crawl back underneath them. With him all settled, he says, “This is my first Christmas gift to you.” You smile as you thank him and kiss his cheek as you settle the tray down over your legs. And see that he prepared everything just like how you liked it.
Which was different than any of the Christmases before, so you ask, “Did you grow up having breakfast on Christmas?” He shrugs, “It depended if my parents woke up before my brother and I.” You nod, “Ah, I always woke up before mine, so I guess that’s why we never had it.” He laughs, “I can see that. You're usually up before I am. I had to sneak out of here when you rolled over.” You laugh, and he smiles, “I love you.” You blush, “Ever since you wanted to say I love you more easily, you’ve certainly worked on it. But I love you too.” He smiles, and you lean your head on his shoulder after eating another bite of waffles.
You reiterate to him, “I mean it, you know? Every day that I wake up, and you’re beside me. I’m so thankful.” He kisses the top of your head, “I’m so grateful that I get to fall asleep beside you. I wish we always got to, like those married couples on TV.” You nod, not thinking much of the fact he specified them being married. “Me too, but I guess that’s the beauty of it. Even when they’re apart, they’re together.” He hums, and you move your head off his shoulder to finish your meal.
When you've both finished eating, he moves the tray, and you follow him down the stairs excitedly. When he asks, “Do you want to start the dinner with me first, and then we open presents?” You pout, “You’re no fun.” He laughs, “But you love me anyway.” You grin, “Yeah. Let’s make it!” Even though it was different, you shrugged it off and happily went with it. You both moved away from the living room and into the kitchen.
You pull out your cookbook and find the correct settings for the ham. And set the oven as he pulls it out and places it into the sink you cleaned the night before. He takes off the wrapping while you prepare the pan. You hold the bag out for him to put it in before dunking it with a sugary drink and adding brown sugar and fruits to the top. As you smother it, you ask, “Isn’t it kind of sacrilegious for you to eat ham?” He blinks at you before he realizes what you meant and bumps you with his hip. “No, two different animals.” You giggle, “I know, plus you’re more of a shark.” He smirks, “You know just what to say.” You grin and wash off your hands before tying the bag. You hear the buzzer ring, open the door, and put it into the oven as Kihyun washes his hands.
He starts cutting up veggies for the two of you to eat while you watch a Christmas movie, and you pull out a smaller cutting board to work alongside him. You make a small veggie tray for the two of you to snack on. Before heading to the living room, “So, Mr. Let’smakedinnerfirst. When are we going to open our presents?” He looks at the time before looking back at you, “Later.” You tilt your head, “Why?” He shrugs, and you realize he must have a big surprise waiting under the tree for you, or he wouldn’t be hesitant to open presents.
In fact, this is the first time in seven years. He’s waited to open presents. You want to say something to that fact, but you hold back. Whatever the reason was, it was a good one. And you didn’t want to ruin your surprise by pestering him because you knew he’d probably blurt it out due to his nerves. You let it go and eat your veggies while watching ‘Arthur Christmas,’ “You know, this is probably the most plausible Santa Claus movie.” He agrees, and you both watch as the little girl finally gets her present after the hundreds of trials and tribulations it took to get to her house. Santa finally made it. He says as the movie ends, “I think that was the best role for the older brother to fit.” You agree, “I think it was perfect how everyone ended up.” He nods, and you both get up from your cuddled position to start prepping other things to eat alongside the ham.
As you’re peeling an orange, he looks at the packaging and watches as you eat a slice, “Shouldn’t you not be eating these?” You tilt your head at him, and he goes, “Because you’re a cutie.” You laugh and tap his shoulder, “Ki!” He grins, “I’m right, you know.” You gasp as he steals the rest of your peeled orange and eats it. And you exclaim, “Kihyun!” He laughs before handing you another orange to peel. You push it back into his hands and cross your arms, and he shakes his head as he peels it for you, “Happier?” You grin as you snatch it before offering him a piece, which he gladly takes. “Now, we’ve both had one full one. And yeah, I’m happier now.” He smiles, “Good.”
To avoid having loads of dishes later, you start doing the dishes now. As you scrub one, you feel his arms slide around you before pulling you against him. He links his hands around you and says, “I love you. I hope you know how happy you make me.” You look back at him, “I love you too. And you make me very happy, too.” You put another dish on the rack to dry, and he unlinks his arms, grabs a cloth to dry, and puts the clean dishes away. As he puts away the plates, he starts singing one of your favorite love songs. You hum softly along until he encourages you to sing with him. He pulls you away from the soapy sink and holds your hands as he serenades you. He waits for you to sing your lines before he continues along. It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve heard his singing voice. It still sends shivers down your spine. You grin as the two of you sing in harmony.
As he finishes the song with butterflies running amuck in your stomach, he asks, “If you could be with me forever, would you?” You take a second to process his question before answering, “Of course I would. But I’ve already told you that.” He grins, “I know, but I just like hearing you say it.” You shake your head and smile at him. And he places a kiss on your forehead before you both finish up the current dirty dishes. The oven rings after you’ve finished and you put away your cookbook. Kihyun pulls the ham out of the oven and opens the bag while you turn the stove on.
And in no time, you’re eating Christmas dinner in front of the TV. Usually, you’d eat at the dining table, but because of the holiday and all the specials playing, you just had to eat in the living room. You both could clean up later if it gets dirty anyway. You watch ‘A Year Without A Santa Claus’ as you eat and giggle at the Miser Brothers' scenes, but find yourself sniffling at the “I believe in Santa Claus” song, and you turn to see Kihyun do the same thing. And you nuzzle closer to him, wary not to tip your plate. You finish your plate as the movie ends, and you both head back to the kitchen to clean up and throw trash away. It takes a while before you’re done and your hands are clean again. You head back to the living room, finding you both still have to open presents. You look over at Kihyun with pleading eyes and a pout, and he nods.
“Can I put it on tape?” You blink at him, “Tape?” He shakes his head, “I meant- I mean, film it on my camera?” You shrug, “Yeah, it’ll be nice to look back on next Christmas.” He smiles, “Maybe even more than that.” You grin and agree. He sets up his phone to film you both opening your presents. You drag your present piles over to the couch in front of his phone, and you do your best to ignore the camera as Kihyun does so effortlessly. You shake off any nerves before diving right into your pile while he does the same. You received a gift from each of your friends and a few from Kihyun. You open your friends' gifts first and appreciate each gift before ripping open the next package.
The pile of paper around you two becomes bigger and bigger as you open more and more presents. You look over to see Kihyun starting to open one of your presents. You smile as he opens the dark blue sweater you got him. He looks over at you as he puts it to his chest, “You got me the perfect shade of blue.” He winks at you as he takes his current sweater off before ripping off the price tag from the label and putting it on. He waits for you to open one of his, and you smile as you rip it open. And out falls a (f/c) cardigan, “I know you love wearing mine a lot, but I thought you should have one that went with more of your outfits.” You follow suit, ripping the tag off, and grin as you slip it over your long sleeve, “I love it.” You open your last two gifts from him and show him happily, and he shows you his.
You're looking through your pile to ensure you didn't miss anything. When Kihyun clears his throat, you don’t think much of it but still look over at him to watch him slip off the couch onto his knee. You ask, “You want help cleaning up?” Thinking that’s why he was getting off the couch and onto the floor. He shakes his head before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small box with a tiny bow on top of it. You whisper, “No way,” as you realize what he’s doing. You quickly move to sit properly and move all the wrapping paper and gifts off your lap. To truly perceive what’s going on. Now you know why he wants to film it other than his regular filming and photographing habits. He smiles as he watches you. When you finish, he’s moved a few things blocking his view.
He opens the box and reveals a darling ring with your favorite stone in the middle. But what causes you to start crying is when he says, “You're the most beautiful gift I could have ever hoped for. A gift I want to keep forever. Will you allow me?” You move the sleeve of your new cardigan down over your right hand to wipe your eyes before answering, “Of course.” He slips the ring over your left finger as you continue your answer, “You’re the greatest gift I could have hoped for. When I said earlier, I would be with you forever if I could. I meant it. I love you so much. I won’t just allow you to. I want you to. And I want to be with you forever.” He smiles, and you grin as you get on the floor in front of him and pull him into your arms.
When you've gained some composure, you ask, “Is this why you wanted to wait to open presents?” He nods, “I wanted it to be perfect.” You shake your head, “Even if it was a messy proposal. As long as it was from you, it’d always be perfect.” He holds you tighter, and you feel tears hitting, dampening your layers of clothes. You move your head away from his shoulder to look him in the eyes, “I knew five months into dating you I wanted to marry you.” He sniffles as you wipe his tears. And he reaches up to do the same. You can’t help but grin at him, “I love you. Oh, how I love you.” He tells you proudly, “I love you with my whole heart.” before cupping your cheeks and bringing you into a passionate-filled kiss.
When you are both back on the couch, you ask another question, “And is that why you wanted to film it so badly?” He nods, “Yeah, I wanted us to keep this moment forever.” You smile as you kiss his nose, “Me too. I'm glad you did. We should play it at our wedding.” He grins, “That's exactly what I was thinking.”

To be honest, you really don’t know what is making your body hotter. Was it the way Kihyun looked down at you, eating your messy state with his gaze or is it the never ending buzz on your bundle of nerves that he hasn't taken away from you for what feels like ages. Was it the way he smirked at your squirming figure or was it the silicone that he moved ever so slowly inside of you.
All of those things made the blood in your body boil. Blush covered your skin with a lace of sheer sweat making you glisten under the light. Your strands were sprawled on his pillow from the amount of struggling you need to go through.
“Don’t you just love it, darling?” His eyes didn’t leave your swollen core. One huge sweet smile painted on his face, such a contrast from all of the scenarios in his head. “Do you love me doing this to you?”
You could only answer him with a rapid nod. Head unable to make up a word, making your mouth to just let out countless whines and mumbles. Your hips moved slightly, getting closer to the toys in hope for them to get you closer to your high. Again.
“Greedy baby wanted more of my toys, hm?” He pressed the wand harder to your clit as he moved the silicone dildo faster.
Your screams echoed through the walls, your back arched to the ceiling. Your sight blurred as your eyes started to prick with tears. “I– I’m close, Ki.”
Kihyun tilted his head to you. He fake pouted before pulling both toys back, making you whine at the sudden loss. “You did earlier, though. Isn’t it ain’t fair for you to cum on this lifeless object more than you do on my cock?”
“No, no, I– Want you please. Want to cum on you.” You’re just spitting every word you can make at this point.
Kihyun giggled as he looked at you pleading. He put the toys beside you as he stripped his clothes off, “And my princess will get whatever she wants.”
Once he’s as naked as you were, he grabbed your waist to flip you on your hand and knees. Your whines were muffled by the sheets as he teased his tips on your entrance. Butterfly kisses were left by him on your shoulder blade as he pushed into you in one push. Moans and groans merged together as your warm walls wrapped him tightly.
“I’ve fucked you with that toy yet you’re still this tight– Fuck.” He bit the skin where your neck and shoulder met, making a mark to bloom there.
Your mind went fuzzy as he kept thrusting into you at a fast pace. Sounds of skin slapping filled the room, making a rhythm for your moans. He then snaked his arms to your waist, pulling you up so your back rested on his chest. The change of position made you gasp as you threw your head back to his shoulder. He used the moment to leave kisses on your cheek and the corner of your lips. His free hand then laced with your strands, using them to guide your face to look at him. He connected both of your lips, making you moan into each other’s mouth.
You pulled back as Kihyun’s kisses went down to your neck. He left more trails of reds as he kept thrusting into you. Your eyes are closed, head still thrown back giving all the access Kihyun needs. Your hand grabs his who rested on your waist, glad that he held you up when you know you could just fall forward in this state.
And as if making your knees weak with his thrust isn’t enough, you could hear a faint sound of buzzing again before a shock ran through your body. Kihyun pressed the wand to your clit again. You yelp at the sudden stimulation, body almost giving up at an instant. You felt his breath fanning your skin as he moaned. He himself could feel the vibration as well as he glided the wand on your bundle of nerves.
“I’ll cum if you keep clenching like that, darling.” He growled in your ear as he felt your walls basically milking him.
“W-want to be filled. Please, Ki– Kihyun, Kihyun–” His name fell from your lips like you’re casting a spell.
“Cum now, baby. Cum now and I’ll fill you good.” His hips thrust in a more brutal pace. Teeth nibbling the shell of your ear as he kept pressing the vibrator to your heat.
With everything combined, you came without warning. Your body trembled in his grip as the tidal waves crashed. You’re flying to cloud nine, head dizzy filled with fuzz. Kihyun came right after you. He pushed this tip as deep as he could before he painted your walls white. His breathy moan filled your hearing as you tried and catched your breath.
He then quickly moved the toy away, pulling himself out of you before putting you down slowly to the mattress. He left pecks of kisses all over your face, making you giggle at his gesture. “My good girl. Let’s get you cleaned up, yeah?”

Day 4: Daddy - Kihyun
Tumblr media
Pairings: Kihyun X female reader
Genre: Smut
Word count: 3,296
Warnings: Dom! Kihyun, Daddy kink, oral (male and female receiving), creampie at the end lol
---
“Thank you for inviting me tonight. This is really fun,” Changkyun said as he handed you a drink from the bar. You saw Minhyuk the bartender smile at you when he noticed you and you wondered if Kihyun got him hired here. He sure was good at what he did.
You took a sip from the drink he got for you; it was your favorite cocktail. Changkyun knew you so well. Which, you expected since you two had been friends for so long. “Of course! I’m glad you’re having a good time.” You looked over to see your other good friend, Jooheon dancing with someone on the dance floor. “Looks like Jooheon is too.” You remarked.
Changkyun looked over and chuckled, his best friend was always doing something. “Where’s your man? I thought I’d see him tonight.” Even though Changkyun was one of your closest friends, he still hadn’t met Kihyun yet. Kihyun was always busy with his work, so he never really had time to meet that many of your friends. His work was the nightlife, so he didn’t do much during the day.
You sighed and saw him talking to Hyunwoo about something before Hyunwoo walked away. “He’s most likely networking for the next club opening he has in a few weeks. It’s okay though, we can still have some fun!”
For the some of the night, you were talking, dancing, and having a good time with Changkyun since Kihyun was busy working his way through the club, mingling, and networking with other promoters and club owners. You kind of wanted to make Kihyun jealous, but he wasn’t a jealous man so that plan probably wasn't going to work out.
You enjoyed going out and being in the clubs, but it becomes boring when you’re sitting around waiting for your man to pay attention to you. It was nice having Changkyun around, you felt like you were actually able to enjoy yourself. It was also fun to be with Changkyun; you hadn’t seen him in what felt like ages since he was busy with his own work. You could tell he was having fun and letting go of some of his daily stresses.
Soon enough, Jooheon had called over Changkyun because he wanted him to meet the person that he had met that night. She was quite pretty and both of their type. You wondered which one of them would end up with her. You knew how your friends were; they were very good-looking guys and girls were attracted to them like magnets.
After a little while by yourself, it looked like Kihyun had said goodbye to Hyunwoo, who had left with his fiance. She didn’t look too happy. You liked her, but she was a bit wild for you. She was the opposite of Hyunwoo’s calm demeanor, but you could tell Hyunwoo loved her anyway.
Finally, Kihyun had found you at the bar, sipping on another cocktail and talking to Minhyuk. "Would you care to explain to me who that guy was earlier, Y/N?" Kihyun asked you after he had just seen you laughing and giggling with Changkyun. Kihyun wasn't a very jealous man, but he definitely was not happy to see you acting like that with someone that wasn't him. Once saw you with the other man and he could feel himself getting taken over with jealousy.
You shook your head. "Babe, it was just Changkyun. He's an old friend that I invited to the opening tonight.”
"An old friend? Yeah, right. We're going home. Now." He grabbed your arm and dragged you to his car. He opened the door for you before slamming it, slightly startling you. What had gotten into him?
You had never seen your man jealous like this before and you weren't sure if you should be worried, or excited. You saw him get in the driver's seat and he sped off without saying a word to you. You noticed he was gripping the steering wheel so tightly that his knuckles were turning white. Had you made him that mad? You were just talking to a friend, but it must have looked different to him.
The car ride was silent with the exception of the car engine. You wanted to say something to him, but you were already home. He turned the car off and got out without saying a word.
You opened the door for yourself and followed your man to the front door. He let you in before he slammed the door behind him and locked it. Startled, you stood still in front of him. You didn't know what to do or say; you were afraid to say the wrong thing, but also kind of wanted to rile him up.
He walked up to you, barely leaving any room between you as he stood inches above you. The feeling of his warm breath on your neck made you nervous; his expression was unreadable. His usually soft features were hard and a little unrecognizable.
You wondered what he was going to do next as he intensely stared at you. His eyes were clouded with jealousy and something else you couldn't place. Was it...lust? No, it had to have been the jealousy, right? You weren't sure, but you definitely wanted to find out. “What are you gonna do, Kihyun?”
His jaw clenched as he stared at you before he leaned down to plant a rough kiss on your lips. He placed his hands on your hips as his legs started to move. You stumbled backward until you reached the wall behind you; your lips still attached. His grip tightened on your hips when he pulled away from you, breathing heavily. He looked you up and down before his eyes met yours and gave you another rough kiss.
Kihyun wasn't exactly thinking straight, considering how he had just seen you flirting with some other guy. He didn't know what else to do, so kissing you roughly and passionately seemed like the best thing to start out with. He knew he had to make sure you knew who you belonged to. He pressed his body against yours as he deepened the kiss, you needed to know that you were his. You felt his crotch rub up against yours and you whimpered into your kiss.
You did nothing to fight him off since you enjoyed it when he took control like this. His dominance was so sexy, something you always liked about him. In fact, it was driving you wild, you liked seeing this side of him. Kihyun was a pretty dominant man in bed, but he’d been a little bit more lax with you. Now he knows he shouldn’t have been.
He pulled away from you again and he said to you, "You're mine and no one else's, got that? I didn't like seeing you with what’s his name. You should only act that way with me and only me, Y/N."
Stunned, you nodded your head. “Y-Yes, Daddy,”
"Good girl," He praised, smirking at you. He soon went straight to your neck and peppered your skin with nips and kisses. You moaned out when you felt his tongue flick over a fresh hickey.
He reached behind you to unzip your strapless dress as he kept up his kisses. It fell to your ankles, and he pulled away from you to look at your almost naked body. He bit his lip as his eyes scanned your body. You looked so delicious to him; he was ready to take you that very second.
He moved his lips to the top of your chest, then down to your covered breasts. He reached a hand up to remove your strapless bra, and that also fell to the ground. He brought his lips down to your nipple and sucked on it while his hand massaged your other tit. Endless moans came out of you, and it encouraged him to do more.
He flicked his tongue out and your nipple hardened. You tangled your fingers into his dark brown hair and tugged slightly, causing the blood to rush down south. He loved it when you pulled his hair. He pulled away from your nipple, undid his tie, then switched to your other nipple. He gave it the same attention and you were moaning out his name over and over.
He pulled away from you, and you whimpered at the loss of contact. You watched him as he removed his suit jacket and started to unbutton his shirt slowly. One by one, each button was undone as he stared at you, eyes fucking you.
You could hardly keep yourself together as your handsome man stripped in front of you. The sight alone was enough to make you explode, but you did your best to control yourself as he finished unbuttoning his shirt. He knew just how badly you wanted to touch yourself while watching him strip. He didn't wear an undershirt, so his torso was bare and you were dying to touch him. He’d been working out and you were able to see all of his hard work.
You reached your hands out to touch his chest, but he grabbed your hands before they could reach his body. You looked at him confused when he smirked at you. He let go of your hands and picked you up over his shoulder. "Oh, Kihyun!" You giggled. He smacked your ass as he walked towards the bedroom. “That’s not my name, baby.” He said before spanking you again.
You moaned again, “Yes, Daddy.”
You heard him chuckle before he kicked the bedroom door with his foot and laid you down on your big bed. He removed his shirt and began to unbuckle his pants. You trembled with anticipation as his pants fell to his ankles. He kicked them off, leaving him only in his skin-tight boxer briefs.
He crawled on the bed and hovered over you. He went back to kissing your neck as his hand found its way to your covered center. You moaned at the feeling of his hand there. He began to rub you through your panties and you couldn’t stop the moan that came out of your mouth. Kihyun smirked against your skin, loving that he had this effect on you.
He pulled away from your neck and trailed his tender kisses down your body. He kissed each nipple once before his lips traveled down to your hips. Your breathing was uneven as he slowly pulled your cute panties down your legs.
He teased you by lightly kissing the inside of your thighs. He bit your thighs, leaving marks on them before he reached your center. "Mm, you're so wet for me, baby." You moaned at the feeling of his hot breath on your core. His arms were under your thighs, putting your legs around his neck before he dove in.
Kihyun slid his hot tongue on your wet slit and you moaned loudly. He smirked to himself before he gave your throbbing clit attention. He loved making you scream and squirm underneath him. Whether it was his dick or his tongue, he had to make you move around somehow. He kissed and nibbled at your sensitive bud, causing you to grip his hair tightly. He groaned against you and the vibration on your pussy made you scream. He really did know how to eat you out.
He did circles around your clit and you bucked your hips. He stuck his tongue in you, and you were squirming underneath him. His strong arms held down your hips as his tongue went as deep as it could inside of you. Your uncontrollable moans excited him, and his erection became more strained in his tight underwear. He knew he needed relief soon.
He moved his mouth back up to your clit and sucked on it lightly. You threw your head back into the pillows as you screamed, “Daddy!” You tugged on his hair as he relentlessly licked and sucked your clit. He didn't plan on stopping until you came at least once from his tongue, but he preferred it when he used his cock on you.
He licked your slit and clit one last time before pulling away and wiping his lips of your juices. You pouted at him and watched him as he rose up to his knees, you knew exactly what your man wanted. You lifted yourself up and bit your lip as you looked at his body.
You put your arms around his shoulders and kissed his lips, neck, and chest. You kissed along his collarbones, leaving a small mark of your own. Kihyun looked at you with narrowed eyes, but all you did was smile at him. Your hand traveled down his body and to the top of his boxer briefs. His breathing hitched when he felt your hand massage him through his underwear.
Your lips were getting lower on his body, and you felt him twitch in your hand. You kissed his hips before you pulled his underwear down, and his erection sprang free. Kihyun’s naked body was a sight to behold; he was like a work of art. His hard cock was dripping with precum and it looked delicious.
You looked up at him and gave him a quick smile before you wrapped your lips around his now pink and swollen tip. He groaned and put his hand in your hair, tugging slightly as you took more of him in your mouth. You placed your hand around what didn’t fit and started to pump him slowly. Your saliva and his precum make his cock slick and easy for you to please him.
You moved your tongue and hand at a very slow pace, just to tease him. You looked up at his face and his eyes were shut tightly as he enjoyed the way your tongue felt on him. His grip tightened on your hair, and his hips bucked slightly.
He moved his hips into your mouth, trying not to fuck your face, but he also wanted to a little bit. You moaned around his cock, so he thrust into your mouth again. Kihyun let out a moan of his own when you took him further in, deep throating him. You gagged a little and his cock twitched in your mouth. If you kept this up, he’d come any minute.
"St-stop, baby." He said as he reluctantly pulled himself out of your mouth. You pouted, so he kissed you, causing you to fall back on the bed. He didn’t care that he could taste himself on you; it actually made it hotter for him. He pulled away from your lips and kissed your neck as he slid his tip against your folds. You moaned loudly, so he teased you by moving it up and down your slit and rubbing it against your clit. This was one of his favorite ways to tease you.
He slowly moved his cockhead against you few more times until you said, "Daddy, please. I need to feel you." He smiled at you before he gave you a tender kiss as he slowly pushed himself inside you. You gasped at the feeling he gave you when he was inside of you. He filled you up so good, you wanted to keep him there.
He stayed still inside of you, not daring to move until you answered one simple little question, “Are you sorry for what you did?”
“Wh-what?” He clicked his tongue and started to pull out of you slowly, only leaving his tip in you.
“If you aren’t then you don’t deserve my cock.” Yet, he was still partially inside you.
Then you realized why he asked you that. It felt so good that you forgot the whole reason why Kihyun was upset with you in the first place: Changkyun. “Daddy, please,” you whined; usually that works.
“Say you’re sorry.” Then he harshly thrust into you.
You screamed at the sudden intrusion. “I’m sorry! I won’t do it again. Please, I’ll be a good girl! I need you to fuck me right now!”
He smirked. “That’s all I wanted to hear. Don’t forget that you belong to me,” then he moved his hips and fucked you just how you wanted him to. You held him close to you as he thrust his hips into you slowly. You felt every inch of him as he drew himself out. Since his pace was slow, the amount of pleasure he gave you was never like this before. Of course, you were always satisfied when he would fuck you hard and rough, but this was different and you liked it.
Kihyun looked in your eyes as he grabbed one of your legs and went in deeper. You moaned out his name and wrapped your other leg around his waist. His thrusts became faster and you were enjoying every second of it.
He kissed your neck while he went harder in you. He wanted to be gentle, but sometimes he can't control himself. He couldn't help himself as he went in deeper and harder with each thrust. He also wanted to teach you a lesson, so being a little rough didn’t seem like such a bad idea. He left a few more hickeys then he rose up on his knees, and grabbed your hips tightly.
His movements became quicker and rougher, so you grabbed the headboard since you couldn't hold on to him anymore. Your moans were never-ending as he pounded into you over and over. The room was filled with your combined moans and the sound of skin slapping. His grip on your hips was definitely going to leave bruises as he kept up his rough pace. By how loud your moans were, he could tell he hit your spot. He hit it repeatedly at a harsh pace and by this point, you were a screaming mess under him.
He knew you were close to your orgasm, so he began to rub your clit in harsh circles. The extra pleasure was making you lose your mind and all you could do was moan and say his name. You could barely handle the new sensation that filled up your body and your walls clenched around him. You loved when he fucked you like this; you felt like his little fucktoy.
He groaned at the sudden tightness he felt and quickened his pace faster than he thought he was capable of doing. He felt that he was close to his own orgasm, but he held it in so you could come first. No matter what, Kihyun always made sure you were happy. Even if he was mad at you.
Your legs tightened around his waist as the knot in your stomach started to unravel. You trapped your man between your legs and he loved every second of it. He never wanted you to let go of him. Your orgasm was approaching and after a few more rough thrusts from him, your body let loose. Moans, profanities, and his name all came out of your mouth as your orgasm took over your entire body.
His thrusts were sloppy and losing their rhythm before he let his own orgasm take over him. He shot his hot cum inside of you and kissed you as he rode out your highs. He pumped himself inside one last time before slowly pulling out, his cum dripping out of you and onto the sheets. He looked down at the mess and smirked; he was satisfied.
Kihyun pulled you into his arms and said, "You're all mine, remember?" You only nodded your head and kissed his chest since you were too spent to respond. He smiled to himself before whispering, "I love you; don't ever forget that.”

Should've Known Better
Tumblr media
Request: Here I am requesting PAIN. 17 with Kihyun~ (First interaction maybe based off when we did the hi-touch?) 💕 so happy for you to be writing here again, bby.
Prompt:
17) Two mini fics in one: The first time you see your bias. The last time you see your bias (guaranteed heart break ahead)
Prompt list can be found HERE.
Pairing: Monsta X Kihyun x Reader
Genre: Literally all of them (romance/fluff/angst)
.
The first time...
You pulled at the light stick strap dangling from your mondoongie, waves of nerves ricocheting through you. You were going to do it. You really secured a hi-touch to interact with Monsta X.
Tugging out your phone for what had to be the dozenth time, you popped open the camera app, and began examining your face. If you were going to get one shot at this, you were going to make it count. Sure, Monsta X were just regular guys with a pretty unique choice in career, but you wanted to impress them. Who wouldn't want to make sure they looked good in front of people they found incredibly attractive?
Watching anxiously as the row before you began to be ushered into the meet and greet space, you stood on your tip toes in an attempt to see what the process was. It looked like the seven boys were placed behind long folding tables. These acted as a barrier between the artists and the fans. Each member had their arm outstretched, ready to high five each fan and get in a kind word when possible. The contact was minimal, but it was enough.
Your heart dropped to your stomach as you quickly realized the row in front of you had been completed in the span of a breath. They were moving the fans so quickly, but it was unfortunately understandable. The staff and group had to be so tired after putting on such an amazing show. It was better to meet them briefly than not at all.
Before you could actually internalize what was happening, your feet were moving in a forward motion. Somehow you felt freezing and on fire at the same time. All you had to do was make sure you didn't embarrass yourself. The bar was really that low.
Approaching the tables, your eyes locked on the first member you would be interacting with, Jooheon. His confidence and swag had immediately attracted you and you muttered a quick prayer before lifting your hand. While you hoped to encapsulate every memory you made, you simultaneously hoped this would be over as quickly as possible. The turmoil of being a fan.
"Hello!" Jooheon sang as you place your fingers around his.
"Hi," you whispered back breathlessly. Just like that, you were moved on to the next member. Why hadn't you thought to say something special? Why were you just dizzily whispering a greeting in everyone's direction?
After Jooheon came Wonho and Minhyuk. It was such a blur that you weren't even entirely sure if you had made eye contact.
Trying to keep your breathing even, you moved on to Shownu and Hyungwon, both so tall they were leaning over the table and toward the fans. You greeted them both in turn before moving along to Kihyun.
You immediately knew this was different.
From being a long time monbebe, you knew Kihyun's archetype. He was a powerful singer, the "mom" of the group, a merciless flirt, and endlessly sassy. That mischievous attitude was bright in his eyes as soon as they slid to yours.
You thought you were prepared, or at least as prepared as you had been with the other members.
"Hello," he chimed, his smile widening as you placed your hand into his.
You echoed the word back to him and went to move forward, but it took a moment to recognize that your hand was still caught. You looked back toward Kihyun, momentarily shocked.
"MOVE THE LINE!" a security guard shouted, but all you could hear was a buzzing in your ears. What was happening?
"You're so pretty," he cooed, that smile turning into a smirk.
Your expression dropped and your mouth formed a small "o" before you realized the need for a response. "Oh, uh, thank you so much!"
Kihyun nodded as the security guard shouted again. Eying him over your shoulder, he finally let go of your fingers.
Blinking repeatedly, trying and failing to get a grasp on the situation, your body guided you to the final and youngest member, Changkyun. After giving him a high five, you were officially finished. You could actually breath again.
You felt suddenly exhilarated as you pushed out of the side doors of the building. That had gone much better than expected.
..
"He said I was pretty," you whispered to yourself as you shuffled off to the direction of the parking area. The realization crashed over you like a wave. It was a good enough feeling when someone you recognized as attractive also found you attractive, but this was next level. It wasn't just some random guy who hit on you in a super market, this was THE Yoo Kihyun of Monsta X.
And sure, were you hyping it up to be more than what it was? Maybe, but you felt good and you wouldn't let anyone take that away from you.
"Excuse me!" a deep voice shouted behind you, knocking you out of your thoughts. You glanced back to notice an intimidatingly large man stomping your way. Turning around and looking in just about every other direction, you were horrified to realize you were all alone.
"Stupid," you muttered as your body went hot, then cold. Your stomach felt hollow as fear now prickled the hairs on the back of your neck.
"Yo!" the man called again, this time much closer.
"I'll call the cops!" you squeaked, your hands searching through your bag for anything that could be used as a weapon.
"The cops?" the guy muttered before laughing. He halted his forward motion before calling out to you instead. "We need you to sign some paperwork."
Furrowing your brows, you spun around. Paper work? Since when had you ever filled out a survey at the end of a concert?
"I'm sorry, what?" you asked.
"Paperwork, for the monsters or whatever," he said, pointing back in the direction of where you had just came.
Paperwork for Monsta X? This was getting stranger by the moment. Maybe he was attempting to lure you off until you were really SOL. Or maybe he actually did need you to sign something. Maybe there was some sort of consent form for being filmed during the show if the staff were going to use it in a music video or promotion?
Giving in to your trusting nature, you decided to follow the burly man back into the stadium. You made sure to keep at least three yards behind, and your finger on your phone's emergency call butoon.
Upon entering the building, you were ushered through what seemed like an endless amount of hallways, only stopping when you reached a door marked as "Private."
Worrying your lip, you couldn't ignore the feeling of being so very alone in this situation. You saw no other security guards leading fans in your direction. Matter of fact, everything had grown to a level of deafening quiet.
"Here you go," the security guard hummed, unlocking the door, and motioning for you to go in.
The room was simple enough. Racks of clothes were pushed toward the walls, while a couch sat in the room's center. Before it, a small coffee table had been placed, and atop that, a stack of papers.
"Go ahead and sign those, and wait for someone to come back in," he nodded before shutting the door. You grimaced as you heard the audible click of him locking it.
"Shit," you muttered, trying to reason with the panic. "Shit, shit."
Pacing back and forth for a moment, trying to come up with any type of escape plan, you couldn't help but kick yourself. Why would you follow any strange man anywhere? You should have said something, you should have put up a fight, you should...at least examine the papers he had directed you to.
Rounding the table, you plopped onto the couch, and took the stack into your hands. The last thing you were expecting appeared on the header.
Non Disclosure Agreement.
....
In the end...
"You ready?" a voice you recognized sounded through the door.
Was he talking to you? Surely he wasn't...
Kihyun's head popped into the doorway, a large smile plastered there. "Are you ready?"
You opened your mouth and closed it again, unsure of what exactly you were supposed to be ready for.
Kihyun chuckled to himself as he crossed the room. Looking down at the unsigned NDA, he looked up again in confusion. "You didn't sign the stupid little thingie."
"i'm sorry?" you said softly, narrowing your eyes. "I'm not exactly sure what I'm signing it for?"
All of the worst thoughts crossed through your mind. You realized you didn't really "know" your idols. All you knew was what they allowed you to and how they portrayed themselves on screen. Was Kihyun really a creep? Were Monsta X really a band of illustrious perverts?
Kihyun stepped back, his expression still one of confusion. "So we can go get food?"
"Okay," you murmured, trying to tamper your own confusion. "What?"
Kihyun motioned helplessly to the paperwork between you. "It's a technicality. I saw you, I thought you were pretty, I want to take you to eat. You have to sign your name so you can't go and tell people how good looking and intelligent I was."
"Is that it?" you mused, relief washing over you.
"What can I say?" he grinned. "I have enough good publicity."
....
Kihyun had taken you to a hole in the wall bar, hardly a five minute walk from the venue. After asking how he even knew it existed, he said he had asked the security team where the best place to grab food this late would be.
"No, no, no," he said slowly, wiggling a fry at your face. "What do you meaaan you don't like Imagine Dragons?"
"I didn't say I didn't like them," you huffed. "They just aren't my go to."
"Then what's your go to?" he asked, tossing the fry into his mouth.
You thought for a moment before grinning. "Monsta X."
Kihyun covered his mouth as he let out a startled laugh. "Ha-ha, but no, really."
"Really!" you insisted.
"You don't need to boost my ego, Y/N," he smiled, dipping another fry into ketchup. "I'm fine doing that myself."
"I've become aware," you grinned. "But seriously, you don't have any idea how much your music means to me and other fans around the world. Of course you have some level of understanding, but I wish you could feel how we do in our hearts."
Tilting his head to the side and giving you a close lipped smile, Kihyun assessed you. He reached forward and grasped your hand in his. "That's very sweet of you."
Sweet and pretty - two words you had never expected to come out of an idol's mouth and in your direction. This night felt like a dream, at moments, you were convinced it was. Why would someone like him spend time in a dingy bar getting to know one of his fans? Sure, you were special in your own way, but you didn't think you exuded the level of excitement it took to capture a celebrity's attention.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Depends on if I have an answer," he hummed, his hand still on yours.
"Why me?" you asked, furrowing your brows. You attempted to avoid his gaze as you continued. "Like why pick me specifically, and why did you want to grab dinner? This whole night has been a huge mystery to me. Is this normal?"
"Define normal," he grinned. He began tracing small circles on the back of your hand with his finger. "You have to understand, my life is anything but."
"Well, obviously," you sighed. "But that's not really an answer."
"I don't know, Y/N," he grumbled. Withdrawing his hand, he continued. "I don't know how much you know about me, but my assumption is a fair amount. My job...we don't stay in one place for very long and it can get so lonely. Yeah, we have each other, but even that isn't enough sometimes. Sometimes you just want to talk to someone. Someone who sees you and someone who you can take a brief moment to see in return. It's a slice of our support net and I think that's very important...
And of course you are attractive, which helps."
Tossing your napkin at the table, you let out a laugh. "Why are you like this?"
"Why do I have a feeling you like it?" he grinned.
Probably because you did.
"Let's get headed back," Kihyun sighed. "I've got to get back to schedules tomorrow and you have to...I assume...go to work? Daydream about me?"
"I'm not honoring that with a response," you chuckled. Sliding from the booth, you watched as Kihyun tossed some cash on the table before standing beside you. Wrapping an arm around your shoulders, he tucked you into his side. Suddenly, air seemed a lot more difficult to breath and your lungs were much too small to handle the normal amount of oxygen.
Guiding you out of the bar and down the street, you tried to savor the moment for what it was. It was a relatively quiet walk back to the venue, the night coming to a much quicker close than you had wanted. No questions crossed your mind to spark conversation, only the feel of Kihyun's hand wrapped around your waist dominated your thoughts.
"Well, I have to say, that was a lot of fun," Kihyun sighed, stopping short of the back door you had originally left from. "You were truly a great date."
"Thanks," you smiled, looking down at your feet. If you looked at him, you were scared you would cry, or laugh, or maybe a mixture of both. No one would believe you even if you were allowed to talk about tonight. Let alone, that the chemistry between the two of you had been pulsing since you first set eyes on each other.
"Hey," he whispered, sliding his fingers around your chin and tilting it upwards. His eyes searched yours as you felt lost in his. He was so close, so painfully close.
But it would be delusional if he...if he...
"Hey," you breathed.
With his free hand, Kihyun reached up, tucking a wayward strand of hair behind your ear. Moving the hand that was on your chin, he chose to trace the line of your jaw all the way back until he was holding the back of your neck.
"I guess..." he said quietly, likely afraid to shatter the fragile moment between the two of you. "What would a good date be without a good night kiss?"
His face hovered before yours for a moment, his eyes searching and unsure.
You gave a very slow, small nod which was all of the approval he needed.
You could instantly tell Kihyun was touch starved. As soon as his lips met yours, you could almost feel his sigh of relief, the tension falling from his shoulders. Wrapping his free hand around your waist, he tugged you closer while simultaneously tilting your head back with the other hand. Deepening the kiss, he let out a small groan as his tongue slipped in between your lips. He tasted like mint and something you suspiciously wondered was ketchup. It wasn't unpleasant at all.
Pulling away for a moment, Kihyun looked at you again. "Y/N...we probably shouldn't..."
"Probably not," you agreed quietly.
Taking the edge of his bottom lip between his teeth, he stared at you in contemplation before leaning forward again. Placing another soft kiss to your lips, this time the sigh was audible. He instantly stepped back, dropping his hands from your body.
The feeling of loss was immediate.
"No," he said confidently. "That...that was wrong. I'm sorry, I took advantage...and, and you trusted me. Shit."
"This is wrong," you repeated numbly. Now you really were considering crying.
"I can't see you again," he said quietly, avoiding your attention. Suddenly something very interesting had apparently popped up beside his shoe.
"I get it," you said quickly. "Maybe we could exchange information?" You knew you were a fool for suggesting it, but tonight was special and you were convinced you weren't the only one who thought that.
"No," Kihyun said, this time looking up. "You're a fan...this...this isn't how this works."
His words felt like a slap to your face. "I wasn't just a fan not even five minutes ago, Kihyun."
"I didn't mean it like that," he groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You know what I mean. You look up to me in a way, and I breached that trust."
"But you didn't," you croaked. You had wanted him to kiss you. Not as an idol, but a boy who had just taken you to dinner. You knew how irrational this all was.
He looked up again and gave a tight nod.
"I see now," you said quietly. "How lonely it is. Creating human connection and then severing it all in one night. You must be exhausted."
"This wasn't normal," he insisted. "I don't...I don't just go around making out with every fan I meet!"
"Well, I would hope not."
"Y/N," he sighed. "Can we just...part ways here? I hope you still support us as kindly as you have and look back on this night fondly."
You nodded slowly, sucking at the inside of your cheek. "Sure I will...but will you?"
He looked at you with a stony expression before turning on his heel and heading back into the stadium.
You shook your head before doing the same in the direction of the parking garage.
You should have known better.
