Disney Sequels Tournament

Just because the movie ends, doesn't mean the story is over!

Sometimes the characters have more to say after the first set of credits roll. Share with us your favorite sequel movie under the Disney creative umbrella!

We love those DCOM franchises! All the animations! Tell us about those Pirates and Superheroes on the big screen! Do you have a really obscure classic that came out with a sequel too? We would be thrilled to see it!

Essentially, as long as it is not the first one Disney did (sorry SWVII) or the introduction movie within the larger web of movies (go back to sleep "The First Avenger") and you can answer the required questions, go for it! Take a chance! Also: this is neither remakes nor prequels.

We are looking for 32-64 unique submissions and will update about when submissions will end at a later time. As is par for our course, you are not required to submit picture/propaganda, but those that do get preferential treatment if they are on the edge of being accepted. Finally, none of the movies pictured are considered submitted unless someone fills out the form.

WELCOME TO THE SLEEPYHEAD CHARACTER POLL!

Submissions are open until January 15th 2024! (Edit: Submissions closed early on the 7th!)

Rules for submissions:

Submit a character from any piece of media who is sleepy! Being sleepy has to be a character trait. It doesn't have to be their main character trait, but it does a reoccurring one (not just a one-off trait in one episode)!

Being tired or "lazy" doesn't inherently make a character sleepy! A character being overworked or a character not wanting to work/trying to get out of doing tasks does not inherently make them qualify. To be sleepy, they must want to be asleep and might often be seem dowsing off. Sleepyhead behavior. Naptime is one of their favorite times. It's in their personality and characterization. That doesn't mean they can't ADDITIONALLY be overworked, tired, or "lazy", it's just not the only thing.

No character who are comatose / in "hibernation" / in a deep sleep. This includes Sleeping Beauty (she's not really a "sleepy" character, she's forced asleep; though if it's a adaptation of her character where she's a sleepyhead that counts).

No insomniac characters. This falls more into a tired character that isn't quite a sleepyhead.

No real people. That includes submitting yourself or your pet, as tempting as it is.

No fanon interpretations/fan characters/OCs/etc.

I reserve the right to reject character if they are from offensive media.

Be respectful! Most sleepy characters are lighthearted in nature, but real people with real chronic fatigue & illnesses do exist. So no referring to characters' sleepy behaviors as being "useless" or anything like that. Just be decent.

No character automatically gets in, so feel free to submit anyone!

I am aiming for a 64 single-elimination bracket, but depending on the volume of submissions, I will make the bracket smaller or larger.

Villain Song Showdown Submissions

Hello! Do you have an evil little guy who sings an evil little song? Well, this tournament will find out which evil song slaps the hardest.

Some quick rules for submissions:

Must be sung by an antagonist/villain or sung about them (like Cruella de Vil)

Must be an official song for the media. (Sorry but no fan songs as good as they may be)

I will also take instrumental themes for villains.

Songs that have been cut from the final product are allowed

Specify if it's a reprise. I'm trying to keep them separate.

Please don't spam one submission.

Otherwise, you can submit songs from shows, movies, plays, albums with their own lore, or any other place! The size of the bracket will be determined based on how many submissions I get so don't be afraid to put in as many as you want.

Submissions will close on December 10 at 12:00am EST (midnight).

WELCOME TO THE LITTLE MERPOLL!

We have already done Little Red Riding Hood and Cinderella, so it's time for the Little Mermaid! Submissions are open now until Friday, February 16th (though they may close earlier if there are many submissions). Please read the following rules before submitting:

Submit a character who is based on the character of "the Little Mermaid" by Hans Christian Andersen! Adaptations where the character is not portrayed as a mermaid are allowed, as long as the story is still explicitly based off the original story.

I will also be accepting characters "playing" the Little Mermaid in a one-off thing, either through some sort of play, being magically transported into the role, etc.

Just because a character is a mermaid, does not mean they qualify. They have to specifically be based on or an allusion of the Little Mermaid.

No OCs or fan characters, official characters only! For more information, read this post from when Cinderpoll was going on.

No real people!

I reserve the right to reject a character if I do not feel comfortable including them, either because of the subject of the story or the media it is from.

When we did Cinderpoll, it was a 128-bracket. I have a feeling there are much less Little Mermaid characters out there compared to Cinderella, so the goal is going to be for 64! That said, if we DO manage to get enough for a 128, I will happily do it! (No more than that, though.)

Feel free to write propaganda on why your character is the best, either when you are submitting the character or through the ask box afterwards.

Be nice and have fun!!! This is just for fun, please do not get too worked up if your character is not submitted a lot or loses in the tournament. This is just for fun and is not indicative of morality of the characters who win.

Welcome back to the 2nd Princess Tournament!!

In the first Princess Tournament, it was decided that Princess Serenity/Usagi Tsukino was our most beloved princess. Here's a chance for a new competitor to try their luck at winning the crown!

Submission Rules:

-No real people!! Fictional characters only

-Doesn't really matter how the character became a princess as long as it's clear that they are royalty in some way (Some characters, such as Mulan, can bypass this rule. It will be judged on a case-by-case basis)

-You can submit multiple characters, but please don't spam the same character

-No problematic media (ex. Harry Potter)

-There won't be any characters guaranteed an entry, so be sure to submit your favorite princess!

Welcome to Tumblr Tourney to Determine the Best Monster from the Duel Monsters anime!

Rules:

This is to determine the best monster that appeared in the Duel Monsters anime! If the monster appeared AT ALL in duel monsters its eligible for the tourney.

Best can be defined in many different ways. If you think a card is the best because of how effective it is, or because of its design, or because of how iconic it is, those are all valid!

Any monsters that appear in the manga, Toei Yugioh/Season 0, GX, 5Ds, Zexal, etc. etc. but not in Duel Monsters, then IT DOES NOT COUNT. THIS IS FOR DUEL MONSTERS ANIME.ONLY.

(In the future, I'll do tournaments for other Yugioh series, but for now, we're focusing on Duel monsters. There are already plenty there.)

Submissions will be open from Monday, September 11th to Monday, September 25th (2 weeks).

The size of the tournament will be determined by the amount of submissions received, but I would ideally like to do a 64, single-elimination bracket. If you want it to be less or more, then it's all up to you!

Feel free to submit as many monsters as you want, but do not submit the same monster more than once!

No monster will automatically make it to tournament! Feel free to submit anything, from the most popular to the most obscure monsters!

When submitting a monster, feel free to write some propaganda to be used during the poll!

When the poll starts proper, I will continue to accept propaganda by accepting it through the ask box and reblogging it! Anti-propaganda will be accepted ONLY after the poll begin.

Preparations for Terra-Week 2023 ain't going smoothly like I originally thought they would. As soon as the prompts were released, Terra said that he was going to help me and that we were going to do it together; but over the last few days, my subconscious has gone in and sabotaged his energy... 😤

I began to write a letter in my diary tonight, but then Lea/Axel intervened and had an amazing convo with me. I decided to share it to show how preparations for Terra-Week are going:

Letter: "Dear Kingdom Hearts (+Jak), I don't know who the hell I'm writing to or what I'm specifically doing any more; it's a shambles. I know I just told a number of you to piss off, and for Aqua to watch some boundaries; so I understand if some can't work with me or receive me right now... Axel?".

Conversation:

Lea: "Hey there, this is Lea".

Me: "Sorry, I just find it cooler to call you Axel".

Lea: "No problem. Either one's fine".

Me: "So why have you responded?".

Lea: "I just wanted to tell you that everyone in Master Yen Sid's tower gets where you're at. You didn't tell the Guardians of Light to piss off; just the ones that would weirdly talk to you from across the generational void, like some mysterious master in a black coat, not named Xehanort".

Me: "But then I also just recently gave Aqua a piece of my mind, so that's eliminated the possibility of help from her".

Lea: "Eh, she's a Matriarch that one... Both in a good way and not so good way. I've noticed that you don't like people with too authoritarian tendencies; and even though she's an ISTJ, she's probably close to an ISFJ like your dad, just one letter difference. You've seen how she acts with me. Too much fun and she'll bite your head off. She and I clash like water and fire; so I understand you. Whereas you like Terra because he's always gentle with you and lets you be yourself".

Me: "Where is Terra these days? Where has he gone?".

Lea: "I dunno; he shouldn't be too far away. Now I don't know about the Wayfinder trio, but I'm not gonna let you suffer alone while you wonder about what happened to your dream guide. He'll be back. And while you're waiting, you can hang with any of us. Perhaps you and I can go to some of the places you've been with him?".

Me: "Now how can you comprehend places such as Neverland, Olympus and the Castle of Dreams? The only BBS location you've been to is Radiant Garden, and you may not want to frolic around in the Keyblade Graveyard".

Lea: "Oh please, Disney worlds, I can go to any of 'em. We have this partnership deal in place where we can openly traverse any Disney world we choose. But if it's just me you've got doubts about, then you can take Xion or Roxas. Or you can go with Riku since he's your other dream guide".

Me: "Thanks for the offer anyway, Axel. I'll consider it. But what I find the dirtiest out of all of this is that Terra's energy had to dissipate smack-bang in the middle of my preparations for 'Terra-Week'. He promised to help me and we were really going to bond over these tasks. So what am I supposed to do? I'll run out of time if I try and get him back because the energies are being difficult".

Lea: "Look; assuming this absence is out of his control, I think he'd want you to press on with or without him. Imagine how devastated Terra would be if he came back after the fact and found out that his absence was the reason you failed Terra-Week. He'd be sulking the whole house down and he'd never forgive himself. As hard as the situation may be, we've got your back. You can ask any of us if you need some insights about Terra, and so far Riku's done a great job on taking you through that first drawing. You're in good hands. And as long as you keep Terra in your heart, you'll be back in his arms before you know it".

New Valentines Tournament!

Greetings! This is our mini-tournament for Valentines Day <3. Like the Halloween tournament it will be a 16 contestant competition with 24 hour rounds.

Everyone deserves a chance for their True Love to be celebrated! We are looking for nominations of romantic couples* who are not a major Disney couple/a major focus of the plot. This tournament needs 16 submissions to run. We accept canon, assumed, or even non-canon couples. Submitting pictures and a justification will improve their chances of getting into the tournament. Again this is open to animated and live action as well as theatrical releases and small screen favorites with everything in between.

Examples of those not acceptable: Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse, Troy & Gabriella, Luca & Alberto, Ariel & Eric, or anything like Mother Gothel and Rapunzel

Examples of those acceptable: Mr. & Mrs. Russo, Pacha & Chicha, Will Turner & Captain Jack Sparrow, Flower & Petunia

We will start the first round on February 7th. The submissions will close February 3rd (but may be subject to change)

And yes, This is a Disney Tournament blog so we are interested in only Disney matches

Glasses Swag Sequel Submissions

Hey gang, in celebration of me finally getting new glasses frames after spending seven years with the same ones, I have decided to return to an old tournament, one of my first….

The Glasses Swag Tournament is where you can submit all your favorite glasses-wearing characters!

Since this is a follow-up to a previous tournament, I won't be accepting characters who made it into the previous bracket. The document linked below is a list of the submissions I got. Any characters in the "Bracket" section will not be eligible to participate, but characters in the "Extra Submissions" section are (if you want some ideas). I'm not automatically accepting anyone so if you want them in, make a quick submission!

Now, rules for submissions:

The character has to have physical glasses so no contacts. If they switch between the two that’s fine.

The character should be wearing the glasses most of the time. I’m going for them being a key part of their design.

Has to be a fictional character, so no real people in this tournament. And no OCs, sorry.

One character per submission please

Please don’t spam one character multiple times through the form but you can submit multiple forms for different characters.

Submissions will close May 19, 2024 at 12:00 AM EST (midnight). I should be done with remaining school stuff by then so I have time to put together the bracket.

CINDERELLA TOURNAMENT SUBMISSIONS!

Submissions will be open since Monday, October 2 until Monday October, 16. I may extend submissions or end them early depending on how many characters are submitted.

Submit a Cinderella character (as in: a character who represents Cinderella; not any character in a Cinderella-themed piece of media) from any type of media (animation/live action/book/comics/etc.)

No unofficial characters (fan characters/OCs/etc.) + no real people.

You can submit more than one character, but please don't submit the same character multiple times or else they will be banned from the tournament.

Retelling & characters "acting" as Cinderella will be accepted!

The bracket will be determined depending on how many submissions there are. If there are a lot of submissions, then it will be a bigger bracket; the less submissions, then it will be a smaller bracket. The goal is to have at least a 32-poll bracket just like Red Riding Poll, but with there being more Cinderella adaptations out there than Red Riding Hood ones, I think we could easily get to a 64-poll bracket.

I reserve the right to not include a character if the piece of media for any reason.

Be nice-- this is just for fun! May the best Cinderella win!

It’s Angst Hour!

Send my muse your angstiest asks, whether they be in character or out! Make them cry, make them angry! Make them feel EMOTIONS.

The battle is over.

It’s Aeleus who finds Ienzo, newly whole and entirely unhappy about the ordeal they’ve been through. It’s Aeleus who tends the wounds they picked up in the battle, who tells them of Sora’s sacrifice that still wasn’t enough.

It’s Aeleus who tells them that, like Sora, Tredd has disappeared, and hands them the knife Tredd used to cut through the borders of the worlds.

But it is Aqua, grim and pale, who tells them that Tredd wasn’t killed, but disarmed and dragged through a portal. And that Tredd is something the worlds haven’t seen since the age of Fairy Tales: one capable of forging brand new Keyblades.

      Their hands were the only thing stopping a full collapse to the ground. Barely able to hold themself up, Ienzo did not register Aeleus approaching. They realized, long after Aeleus pulled them from the battlefield, where they were, and their physical and mental state. Low hisses left their lips as Aeleus tended to their wounds--shouldn’t they be doing that for him like always?--and spoke. Sora’s sacrifice wasn’t enough. Tredd was gone, his knife the only thing left.

      Of course, the universe refused to let them keep him.

      Outwardly, Ienzo stayed calm as they said little--only the bare minimum, words replaced with hand gestures. Their neutral face, practiced for years, held steady. Inwardly, a fire started burning, quiet fury coursing through weary veins. Aqua’s words were but gasoline to the blaze, enough to make them stand. A forger of Keyblades--what a weapon Tredd was.

      If he was going to be anyone’s weapon, though, he wasn’t allowed to become Xehanort’s. No, he was their weapon. 

      “I will find him.” Determined, matter-of-fact as they stood next to Aeleus and Aqua. “With or without your help.” As they clenched their fist at their side, shadows surged around them. Their fist rose as they opened it, shadows vanishing as a Corridor opened. They did not know where Tredd was, but they had a starting point. Yen Sid was a wealth of knowledge. He had to know something.

      He was also someone who they finally needed to work to surpass.
