Summary: Morro and Wu fly back home.

Prompt: Fly | "Time to go home"

Extra: Generic "what if Morro lived in the season 5 finale" AU. This oneshot is Morro and Wu's flight back to the Bounty, so they finally talk about their feelings. I hope you enjoy this!

"You can only save those who want to be saved. Goodbye, Sensei," Morro said with a bittersweet smile.

"Ugh!"—he shoved the Realm Crystal, the thing he worked so hard for, into his mentor's hands.

Then he let go.

He felt himself sinking, being dragged down to his watery death by her.

He heard the water lapping below him, threatening to swallow him whole, to consume him, to dissolve his ghostly body into nothing.

Until he heard a fleshy ripping noise. The muffled sound of The Preeminent screaming echoed from beneath him, and suddenly he wasn't sinking. He wasn't being held in a deathly grasp by his mistress. He wasn't being condemned to his oceanic end.

No, instead he sat atop an off-white scaly beast, with the sound of wings flapping in his spectral ears.

"Maybe you don't want to be saved, but this is not where your story ends, Morro," a voice, Wu's voice, uttered from behind. Morro whipped around, and there he was.

His sensei. His teacher. He… saved Morro.

"…why?"

"I should have stopped you from leaving the first time. I will not watch you leave again."

Oh.

Morro did not need to breathe. Ghosts do not have the ability to breathe.

So why did his throat hurt, like he's gasping for air while being choked?

Why did his eyes sting from tears his ghostly body cannot make?

Why did it hurt just a little bit more when Wu, his sensei, his father, hugged him despite Morro not being able to feel it?

Why did he feel the urge to wail, like a little child? Like he did when Mama didn't come back.

Muddled sounds of flapping wings and rushing winds broke him from his thoughts. Wu's dragon was soaring through the open sky, clouds distant and seemingly untouchable.

"You seem calmer now, my son."

Morro realized he was leaning against his master, and jerkily moved away. Wu shifted the reins in his hands.

Wait- "The Realm Crystal! Where is it?" Morro panicked. Did he knock it out of his hands? Oh The Preeminent was gonna-

Oh right. The Preeminent did try to kill him.

"It is safe. I dropped it off with the Ninja, so they could bring back Lloyd."

The wind elemental sighed in relief.

"I can't stay with you," Morro blurted.

"I don't see why you can't," Wu responded, his voice dripping in apathy.

"I- wha- I am a horrible person! I just tried to curse this realm! I-I possessed Lloyd, I tried to kill your Ninja, I have no redeeming qualities, I don't-..." he exhaled frustratedly, "I don't deserve your pity. I don't deserve this."

A beat of silence. Morro looked off in the endless blue of the sky.

"Well that's not right."

Morro was baffled. His sensei had obviously gone mad.

"Morro, you are my son. Adopted or not, you deserve my love, and I have failed you."

"You never failed me, I failed you. I should've lived up to your expectations-"

"But I did." Wu tilted his head back, as if the sky would tell him what to say next. "You don't need to be the best, you never did. I would've loved you either way, Morro. You're my son, you always will be. I should've made that clear. You do not need to be anyone or anything other than yourself for me to love you."

The feeling came back. Morro felt his lip quiver as he poorly restrained his feelings. He said nothing.

"I-I… I just wanted you to… be proud of me." His throat tightened more. "I thought that… if I was as great as you saw me, you would."

"And I should've shown I was. I was always proud of you, my son."

"...even now? I tried to ruin everything."

"Even now. Although I am quite disappointed you have used your training to destroy instead of protect, you are my son. And, I know you can do better."

Morro buried himself back into his father's shoulder. He sobbed, although tearless, as his father, his father, silently comforted him.

"Time to go home."

I actually envision Cole as a very spiritual guy! He is super sensitive to crystal energy – some crystals soothe him while others have the opposite effect.

He was 100% the kid that collected cool rocks (and still has them because, let’s face it, rocks are epic)

He was super shy to admit that he gave the coolest rocks to his momma

...and he got the box back when she passed. He keeps it in a box with some of her other belongings.

You always just quietly hug him from behind when he looks through them, trying to remain strong for him when you hear him quietly start to cry

The witchy stuff kind of scares him because he envisions stereotypical stuff

But once he learns what it’s really about, he kind of gets into it?

He likes getting in touch with his spiritual side. It’s a new type of guidance that he feels he’s been missing for a while

She always found you super inspirational. In a majority male streaming world, she admires you and always felt a connection to you because of this

good morning citrus nation. me and francis volcaberg @volcaberg have decided upon having a #citrus ship week from dec 24-30 :)

this was mostly for ourselves bc we wanted a silly excuse to draw citrus while we're on break but of course i wanted to extend it to anyone who might be interested because . there are other fans out there or so ive heard (joke) . of course any kind of content (art/writing/secret third thing?) is welcome. we have a lot of prompts bc we're indecisive and also creative freedom is fun!

Okkk soooo my shower thoughts are Stange ish. Basically- what if the other ninja could communicate with certain animals like how Nya does in Seabound?? So yay enjoy my yapping

Cole- I feel like ground related stuff ya know. Like Bears, canines, foxes maybe? Basically stuff you’d find in the woods or in Rocky Mountains.

Zane- Animals you’d find in the Arctic! Like polar bears, arctic foxes/wolves, penguins, etc. All animals living in cold climates. Not cold in general like cold deserts, there should be ice/snow in their habitat.

Kai- To me, I feel like animals who are in hot climates. This could be desert animals like lions or fennec foxes, but also animals living in volcanic areas! If the climate is hot, Kai can talk to it.

Jay- Birds like falcons, Bluejays, robins, etc. also I’m still saying flying squrriels, those things are cool!!! It’s like wind, just Morros got different birds

Lloyd- Since we genuinely have no idea what on earth Lloyd’s powers are, I really wanna say anything feline? But also literally any bug that is green. But if I Wanan get specific, wouldn’t he be able to communicate with every animal since his powers are all the elements of creation combined???

Also they all have spirit animal type stuff that I can talk about another time if people are actually interested by this 😭

[NINJAGELIONS!]

look! an epic epic lore post yay! the sheer insanity you're about to read will be unparalleled if you do actually bother to read it.

the main pilot trio. it's just some cuteness before the crazy lore that's about to drop

Morro does have a role in this au. He's a psycho reject pilot who works for the super shady Crystal Council (the SEELE of the au). He's supposed to try to replace Lloyd and start the Third Impact himself with Unit-01. If you know what happend to Asuka's mom in NGE, then you know what's happened to Morro. There's actually a bunch of pilot candidates conglomerated in certain areas, like Lloyd's highschool for example. Morro gets sent to one of the worse ones that's directly observed by the Council.

Garmadon transformation Before and After he eats the Overlord. He gets a familiar new look.

Kai is a secret agent who has disloyalties to like. Everyone. He brings the crystal-preserved OVERLORD fetus to Garmadon so they can kickstart the Apocalypse Plan

Even though he's pretty sus, Kai is still a Good Guy. He let's Cole in on the conspiracy he's trying to uncover. Which involves showing Cole the corpse/sleeping body of the "First Being" (the FSM) that SPIRAL's been keeping hidden under the headquarters. It's blood is the "Golden Power" which is LCL and the fuel for the Ninjagelions in this world so. Yeah the kids breath that stuff. and Cole is thoroughly Freaked Out

The NINJAs (the big ol' mechs. I commited to the funny name) are very. very very haunted. Because the only way they can be operational is if there is a human soul inside their Cores. the prototype (00) and test-type (01) both are very volatile compared to the production type (02) because there was a lot. A LOT, of messed up issues with development and a lack of knowledge in what exactly they were creating. By the time Unit-02 was built, they managed to polish the formula. Anyways, Dr. Julien and Echo are the souls inside NINJA-00 but since they were merged in the nontraditional way of having their bodies stuffed in the robot a la FNAF instead of a Contact Experiment, the mech got. Very Unstable. Poor Zane is probably the only one who could handle the stress of being that one's pilot (Lloyd's gonna have a super horribly failed attempt later on). Oh and Julien and Echo were the two unfortunate victims of a m*rder-s****de but there was a third player in it. Want to guess who?

first one is his canon gi, colour corrected,

that i only ended up using in his initial arrival pages of @juniorjago oops lol. Ill probably use it for flashback stuff to morros babby years

second one is what i designed for him to wear in the post where he apologises to the kids for being a shit

third one is a failed design(yay!) where it was meant to be just. some clothes he threw on, but it looked too. formal? worky? so sCREW IT. he gets a new gi at some point in juniorjago! The fourth is what i ended up going with for this next arc that will EVENTUALLY come about.

Happy 13th Anniversary Ninjago!

I wasn’t well prepared to celebrate so here’s this little one shot I wrote a while ago and didn’t know what to do with. And this so happens to be my 100th post. Yay!

Summary: Jay, Kai, and Nya are raking leaves. It's a rather mundane chore, but things get interesting when a prank goes awry.

Morro is alive and happily living with the Ninja because I say so. And as far as timeline goes, this is set loosely after season 13.

"Ugh, I hate raking leaves," whined Jay, halfheartedly poking at his meager pile of leaves. He just didn't understand how this many dead leaves could possibly pile up at the top of the mountain!

"I could burn them all real quick," offered Kai, igniting his palm. His sister immediately doused him, much to his annoyance and soggy hair and gi.

"No! Are you crazy?!" berated Nya.

"A little," snickered Jay, but was quickly silenced by a sharp glare from his girlfriend.

She continued, "We don't need this place burning down again."

Kai sighed, "Fine. But let's at least use some Spinjitzu to speed this process up."

Jay perked up, "All right!"

Just as the boys were about to kick back into their colorful tornados, Nya stopped them again, "No! Spinjitzu is an ancient art. We shouldn't use it for such menial tasks. Besides, Master Wu warned us 'Haste makes mistakes'."

"Why do you have be such a stick in the mud?" groaned Kai.

Nya gave a mischievous grin, pointing out, "Actually, if we take long enough doing this, we won't have to help Lloyd do the laundry."

The boys smirked, catching on. With that, they got to raking at a decent pace (not too fast though). However, just as they were finishing up, Lloyd and Morro walked out into the monastery courtyard, laden with clean laundry to put away.

The Green Ninja's eyes lit up with youthful glee as he caught sight of the magnificent pile of leaves in the middle of the courtyard. He carefully set down his laundry basket, and the three rakers caught on a split second too late as he darted toward the pile.

Time seemed move in slow motion as Lloyd leaped into the air as Jay, Nya, and Kai frantically screeched, "Noooo!"

Time went back to normal as the blonde boy landed in the giant pile with a muffled whump. It was rather anticlimactic for the people watching as they expected their hard work to scatter everywhere. Fortunately for them, the large leaf mountain was big enough that it simply swallowed his impact and engulfed the boy whole.

A few moments later, Lloyd popped his head out, laughing as he carefully extracted himself. "That was awesome!"

The others snorted at their younger brother's joy. They supposed a few scattered leaves were worth it if they brought him some happiness.

Morro plodded over, looking thoughtfully at the giant pile. "You think we could all fit in there."

"Yeah. Maybe," shrugged Nya. "Why?"

"Wanna scare someone?" smirked the Master of Wind.

A playful glint alighted in all their eyes. After a morning of dull chores, they were all eager to do something fun.

Right before he dived into the pile after the others, Lloyd called at the top of his lungs, "Uncle Wu!"

The hidden Ninja went as still as possible and tried their best to withhold their giggles. They waited carefully until they could hear footsteps right in front of the leaf pile. They sprung their ambush, jumping out and shouting.

"Yyaaa– ugh!"

Morro's yelling turned into a sharp gasp of pain as someone's fist collided very hard with his midsection. Apparently, it wasn't Master Wu who they had managed to surprise but Pixal instead.

The silver-haired girl had a mixed expression of concern and annoyance as she and the others stared down at the downed Master of Wind. "I thought you were supposed to be finishing your chores."

"We did." Lloyd looked at the scattered leaves and laundry that had yet to be put up. He amended, "Er, are going to."

"I haven't seen you do anything useful today," wheezed Morro accusingly as he slowly stood, trying to act nonchalant and shake off the pain.

Pixal crossed her arms, and the others could tell she was about to go off on Morro. "Actually, while you were off gallivanting in Shintaro and then decided to stay out for an adventure for another entire month as you all traveled 'wherever the wind took you', I was left in charge of the upkeep of whole monastery as well as covering for all eight of you in defending Ninjago City."

"During the time of your absence, I managed to clean and organize every single one of your sleeping quarters—which need I remind you, were downright filthy—, update the defense systems in the monastery, do the dishes, and answer 162 distress calls. With that data, I say you have very little left to do and nothing to complain about."

Morro's resentment had definitely melted away into respect. He simply gave a nervous "okay" along with the others after her mini rant.

As the Samurai walked away to finish enjoying her day off, Lloyd murmured, "I think Pixal's a little salty at us."

"Ya think," snorted Kai. "Zane definitely rubbed off on her. Remember when he would passive aggressively do the chores while slamming things around to remind us how we weren't helping him."

After they all finished sharing a good chuckle, Nya clapped her hands. "Okay, boys. Let's finish this."

"One more jump," said Lloyd quickly as he leaped into the leaves again.

Just to humor him Morro and the others followed suit. However, somewhere in the mix, a leaf tickled the Master of Wind's nose, and he couldn't stop a sneeze from coming out. For some reason, the sneeze triggered a slight Elemental reaction which sent leaves flying in every direction.

"Morro! C'mon!" cried Jay in dismay.

Kai sullenly surveyed the damage before exclaiming, "All right. Spinjitzu it is!" In less than five seconds flat, he had cleared the courtyard of leaves, throwing them over the side of the wall.

He dusted his hands off proudly until Lloyd suddenly brought up, "Hey. Where'd all the laundry go?"

The Ninja stared at the spot where the two baskets used to be then let their gazes travel up to the top of the wall where a pair of blue underpants were snagged and flapping lazily in the breeze. It was clear where the rest of their clothes had gone.

"Don't suppose anyone will really miss those? I mean, a wardrobe replacement is always good, right?" chuckled Kai nervously.

The others groaned and glared at the Red Ninja. Now it was going to be an even longer day.
