-In the promo for S5E5, Nandor says they got to Staten Island in 1892.

-Laszlo was Jack the Ripper, who was active from 1888 to 1891.

So maybe they left London in 1892 so that Laszlo wouldn’t get caught!

I feel like wwdits is a show written to be in the worst timeline. Its like the characters choose all the wrong options. There were so many options, so many ways things could've gone and these characters continue to surprise us by choosing the dumbest, the most rediculous, the absolute worst options.

Recently got to play Guillermo in a wwdits/vampire party LARP, it was incredibly fun and I love the photos.

(On the third one I try to persuade Petyr not to eat the Wellington paranormal cops and them that nothing unusual is going on. Was incredibly in character for the levels of stress)

We had vampires from different media so by the end I got turned into a vampire by… Lestat 😅 Yeah. I tried to resist but he was very tempting and Nandor gave me the very canonic “I care about you but I’ll hypnotize you to make you forget it and I won’t turn you” spiel (that’s why the Complicated faces on the last one), and considering it was post 1 season-ish timeline… yeah, Guillermo wouldn’t have resisted either xD (And yes it was exactly as hot as you can imagine but I won’t admit to anything xD)

I regret we didn’t make a wwdits ensemble photo, everyone was incredible.

Okay so if we take the lore literally in that energy vampires 'die' (and are reborn) EXACTLY every 100 years and i believe the wwdits timeline matches the year they come out (season 4 coming out in 2021) so we know that Colin dies and is reborn every '21 making the last time he was reborn 1921.

Now, if we take in consideration he was at the battle of the alamo we know he's had at least three births, one in 1821 (possibly his original birth), 1921, then 2021 so he's at LEAST 200 yrs old.

Also, while we know he ages/matures quickly after first being born then stays middle aged until he dies again, TECHNICALLY he was 15 when he and his 50 yr old boyfriend davy crocket fought at the battle of the alamo in 1836

i’ll be posting more comics related to it but here’s a the rundown on the general premise:

follows canon timeline, (spoiler alert?? but also it’s been 160 years so…. ok) right after enjolras and grantaire get shot they get turned by some vampires who find them amongst the corpses, on the brink of dying

the vampire who turns enjolras did it bc they recognized him and thought it would be a waste to either eat him or let someone so pretty just die

grantaire was just gonna get eaten but enj begs them to spare and try to save him and they took that as “oh ok ig we’ll turn you both lol”

*cue transformation montage in the sewers of paris*

grantaire sleeps thru the worst of the process, enjolras suffers thru it all in severe clarity, but when he finished he brings grantaire to somewhere more comfortable so baby vampire grantaire gets to wake up clean and comfy in a cozy bed to enjolras looking after him and he thinks he really did die and go to heaven

at some point they visit marius and cosette and explain the situation, marius is freaked out but at least 2 of his friends are alive (undead but ok better than nothing)

*cue enjoltaire learning to live as vampires and live w each other à la roommates (oh my god they were roommates) wwdits style :^]

you know what boggles my mind about these takes on guillermo and his great big betrayal this season? it's the fact that some people have managed to so thoroughly divorce this arc from what happened last season as if the two don't correlate. as if the fact that nandor betrayed guillermo first and in one of the worst ways he could think of has nothing to do with where they are now

okay so there are Four of these and they're all SO correct so im gonna put all of them and my thoughts under the cut (yeah i know nobody comes to my blog for Hot WWDITS Takes (or.... for anything) but this whole situation has me pressed okay) thank you so much anon i NEED to talk about this

"and i don't mean that in the way that some have meant it in a guillermo is doing this for revenge type of way but just that freddie was his last straw but instead of leaving like he would have before he decided to stay on his own terms. he decided that for once fuck what nandor wants, he'll do what he wants instead. guillermo literally started of season 4 saying he was looking out for number one and then he didn't for MONTHS but sure he's a monster for following up on his promise to himself" "and freddie isn't just some isolated incident that doesn't have any context. take this from guillermo's pov, he spent weeks (maybe months? unclear on timeline here) preparing a wedding, being asked to do impossible shit but somehow coming through and his reward was that one moment of nandor admitting he cares for him by calling him his best man (we know he meant best friend so did memo i'm sure) and then nandor had to take that away." "'cause just so we're clear best friends don't fuck your boyfriend. there might have been some extra steps there but ultimately that is what nandor did and he didn't think to stop for a second why he was doing it, if it would hurt guillermo, just nothing. so guillermo i think was back to square one, nothing has changed nandor can be kind for one second and do something so blindingly selfish and cruel the next and this fandom really expected him to lie down and take it"

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I MEAN!!! YOU GET IT ANON!

so, i must start with this. every season, almost always, continues in a sort of vacuum. not so much that there's no continuity, because there usually is! so let's just follow guillermo, because there's a point i want to make here.

S1- guillermo learns he is a slayer. S2- guillermo reveals he has spent the past summer killing vampires to keep the house safe, which leads into the finale; guillermo goes and rescues the vampires from the theatre in a Beautiful display of murder. S3- guillermo is trapped in a cage, because of that Beautiful display of murder, which leads into the finale; guillermo agrees to go away with nandor on a world trip and eventual turning (this goes wrong, which leads to) S4- guillermo finally returns from being stuck in england, a year AFTER the end of s3, which leads into the finale; guillermo goes to derek to be turned.

NOW. let's assess where the VAMPIRES start and finish throughout the seasons.

and the answer to that is; exactly where they fucking started. because s4 was right. nothing changes. colin robinson dies and is reborn and grows and in the end, he's exactly where he started. nadja grows and learns and tries to forge an identity for herself, and then she fails, and she's exactly where she started. laszlo... okay, laszlo's just along for the ride. and he LIKES where he started. nandor started as a neurotic, cool-hearted washed-up-warlord who tries to be strong, passionate, the leader that everyone looks up to. he doesn't seem to notice nobody looks up to him except guillermo, because duh, why would he notice guillermo? and every season, we're right back to where we started. we see them grow closer, and then we see them ripped apart! and every new season, we're back to joking at his expense. the only notable difference this season is that nandor sort of HAS grown more tolerant of him, a building through-line that we have only seen through guillermo, the only character that changes enough for a bond to be formed rather than assumed (ie; the foot locker, the self-help book, the being insanely jealous that laszlo is spending his time with him) (as opposed to his friendship with the vampires, one that has always been sort of assumed except for with colin robinson, something that s5e6 pretty thoroughly shattered)

this season, we are seeing the inevitability of five seasons and nearly fourteen years of guillermo assuring himself that he would get what he wanted, that he hadn't given up his family and his job and his emotions and the parts of his brain that are... well, human, for nothing. he has been promised and promised and promised that this is the time, this is when the time is right, just TRUST in the inevitability of change in a house full of people that never change and never want to. he has been growing and changing every season, growing stronger, more confident, more capable, unlike the vampires.

but because guillermo is the butt of the joke, because he HAS to be, right? because he has to always be the one that suffers (learning his bloodline kills the very thing he loves, being LOCKED UP for PROTECTING the very thing he loves, being locked in a COFFIN just when he was going to get it, and FINALLY being turned only to be turned wrong and in the most horrible, ugly way???? (well, for him, for me it was a visual treat, love me a man covered in blood)) it turns out that there's this cute little rule! one that we've never seen before (though there is some hinting toward this, i suppose, in the case of celeste, right? she never poached, only took unattached familiars. did she know? we'll never find out, i don't think!) and now the thing he loves (person he loves the most) will be his end, because of course it is, right? and of course he definitely deserves it, right? because he's the butt of the joke, the silly little human who dared to make his OWN life better rather than waiting for a day that was so clearly never gonna come unless he held them at stakepoint or he did.... exactly what he did.

nandor is the deciding factor. and from what we've seen of him for the past five seasons, he's gonna bluster and threaten and probably challenge him to a fight to the death or something stupid like that, but it's not like he has any real bite anymore anyway? but he's NEVER gonna let this go, i don't think, which is INSANE considering how much guillermo has been letting slide for YEARS in terms of his behavior.

if nandor wanted to do it himself, he should have considered 'why the hell would guillermo EVER be late to the one thing he's been telling me for years that he always wanted?'

instead we see in s4e1 that he BLAMES guillermo for leaving him, and refuses to hear anything to the contrary. and again in s5e5, he blames guillermo for not being there for them, and refuses to hear anything to the contrary. to him, the human will always be at fault, and he will always be their better, and it is going to take guillermo not BEING a human anymore to shake that out of him.

from there, it's all up to him, really! (we have to also account for the classic wwdits 'yeah they're all just idiots, they'll be totally fine with it and they'll be back to being besties by s6e2' because i have little faith in any sort of emotional continuity after every season's constant stunting of everyone's Almost-Emotional-Growth)

i genuinely do not know if this made any sense. but i wanted to talk about how the way we've watched guillermo grow and take responsibility for himself makes it so clear that he SHOULDN'T just sit down and take it, even though he seems very much like he's more than willing to. i'm not gonna touch the whole virginity and slut-shaming metaphors, because i do NOT feel qualified to discuss them, and better people have done it (though i do think a lot of them are biased toward nandor rather than guillermo) but i just think that in the lines of continuity, this was EXPECTED, and it being treated like a season-long punchline isn't particularly fair to guillermo! which is the point of the show, and the counter-point of this rant!

guillermo deserves better, he got it, and now they just have to let him HAVE it.

so me and my dad have a bit of a hard time bonding sometimes, but there’s one silly little thing we had a LOT of fun discussing, and that’s this… i’m not sure what to call it. it’s not exactly a theory, what with how absurd and obviously incorrect it is, but it’s fun.

and it basically hinges off the fact that kristen schaal tends to play very similar characters. (no hate towards her, love her, love her stuff). and how some of them kinda perfectly line up? the characters, i mean.

but the general story we’ve concocted goes as follows:

Mabel Pines (Gravity Falls)

sometimes after the events of gravity falls, mabel gets into either interdimensional or time travel, i do not remember which. i

this would be sometimes around her teen years. and she does this for a while,

but oh no, something went wrong! she’s forgotten her name and her past, retaining nothing but her interests, passions, and overall silliness.

cCarol Pilbasian (Last Man On Earth)

uhhhhh yeah this show is what happens next. she gets a new name, a new family, and grows up and the story of last man on earth happens.

at some ambiguous time after the events of the show, she like. gets turned into a vampire. i guess. oh and does her unclear method of sci-fi travel, sending her into the past

The Guide (What We Do In The Shadows)

turns out, her overall strangeness and romantic/sexual interests remain, . this causes issues

if you’ve seen the wwdits tv series, and are caught up, you’ll know what i’m talking about

my girl got in trouble and got assigned position as the guide, and she slowly forgets who she was previously. for a second time.

and yeah that’s the general idea. again, just a silly concept dreamed up by me and my dad. i also haven’t seen kristen schaal in a TON of things, and of course i couldn’t fit all the roles i’ve seen her in into the timeline, i have my limits. so for example, her character who i genuinely do not recall the name of from our flag means death? i’d love to but she just doesn’t fit. and uhhh i think she was the orangutan in cloudy with a chance of meatballs two? yeah that. that speaks for itself. unfortunately.

Alright Mutant Mayhem post, I just got back from the movies so these takes are are all of my first un unfiltered thoughts

SPOILERS AHEAD

First off the animation style : Absolutely Amazing,

Very claymation like, and although I see the comparison to Spiderverse, I think it’s completely unique,

If anything it reminds me of The Mitchell’s Vs The Machines

Next the cast : Absolutely Amazing

The way the characters had so much energy and just bounced off of each other. The kids that voiced the turtles really did great, everything they said felt very natural, and like teenagers actually talk. It was A LOT of pop culture references, but while a little cringey, none of them felt forced.

I absolutely LOVED this version of April and she’s currently fighting IDW April for the “best april” spot in my head. Again Ayo did a great job and I can’t imagine anyone else in the role. A fresh take while still being true to the character

And of course Splinter carried the movie. Jackie Chan was incredible as always, and this is splinter is truly the best dad. He was really just looking out for his sons, and doing anything and everything he could to make them both safe and happy.

I’m never going to get over Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko

And Natasia Demetriou was perfect (hearing her definitely through me off guard though, just cause I’m a wwdits fan, and I though her being the bat was very silly)

Overall thoughts :

If anything I found myself a bit distracted through the movie. Getting caught up comparing things to the TMNT I already know. Learning to accept that while, similar this one’s different, a new take on a beloved series.

I wasn’t comparing it as “worse or better” but seeing the similarities to certain comic issues and runs, and assuming that I knew what was going to happen based off of those. Super fly is just like Hob, Cynthia Utrom is Bishop, ect.

And while those comparisons are both interesting and fun, I was getting too into it, and overlooking what THIS movie was trying to do and say (which is a problem that I think a lot of comics fans run into)

OK critiques : I tend to be nit-picky but I only have a few this time

The Mutanimals,,,, (that what I’m calling them here y’know who I mean) their were ALOT OF THEM and I feel like they all weren’t utilized in the film, and used to cast stars who would only have a couple lines, and probably sell more toys (which, let’s be honest, is the biggest reason TMNT exists now)

Bebop and Rocksteady didn’t really do anything, I swear Leatherhead had two lines, I completely forgot about Ghengis Frog, Rey Fillet was literally just Post, and the only ones who felt like real characters were Mondo Gecko and Wingnut (and I might be bias cause I love them) and slug lady???

The way they almost immediately turned on superfly, their older brother, who was clearly like a father to them, with no hesitation?? One second their down for mass murder, and the next their helping the turtles???

Their actors and designs were cool, but the movie was only 1:35 or something, I feel like a bit more character development for them could’ve been put in

The timeline? Also a bit confusing, and implies that every mutant other than Splinter, Slug Lady, and Superfly is 15. Which I don’t think is true.

But all of the Mutanimals were shows to be babies/toddlers in the 15 year flashback?? And they all seemed like infants in Stockmans lab (other than superfly whose a couple years older) and older slug lady would’ve been tiny anyway

But I just got a little confused

And lastly the ENDING :

I really didn’t think they’d actually make it to highschool!! This is honesty super interesting and opens up the story for a lot of new plots and takes, doing things that the turtles could never do in previous iterations. It makes me very excited for what could come next for them

Very hyped for what’s coming next, left the theater ranting to my sister about how I hope Karai will be in the next one too.

And with the backstory loosing that tie to the Foot, I’m really wondering how things will go down

And worried for how underprepared they are for someone like shredder
