[INTERVIEW] My SHINee World — Minho

There are many images that come to your mind when you think of SHINee's Minho; the unending desire, the untiring activity, and above all, the affection for his fans.

He is well-known for his eye contact and communication with fans, it continues to appear in "My SHINee World", this not just a one-sided joy for fans. Minho also cited "Concert" as the biggest driving force and joy of SHINee's activities.

"It's an obvious answer, but I'm so grateful to our fans.I'm happy to show performances I've prepared hard, and I feel really happy when I see the fans and breathe together."

Even now, in his 15th year since his debut, he still says that meeting with his fans is "a moment of overwhelmingness, something that cannot be changed for anything." Of course, there are changes.

"I was awkward and cautious at first, but now I'm more comfortable and closer to our fans, I think we made a good relationship while protecting each other's lives well."

There are many ways in which Minho communicates with his fans. One of them is writing lyrics of a song.

For him, who writes most of the rap lyrics himself, the raw material of his creation is "honesty.

"When I write down a lot of emotions I felt in my daily life or during my activities, I also want my fans to share the same feelings as me."

Regarding "My SHINee World," he also said, "There is an indescribable bond between SHINee World and us," adding, "Thank you for making good memories, and let's always make happy things in the future."

Minho is also famous for his wide spectrum of activities, including acting, photography, and sports, and various hobbies.

"Hobbies make your body and mind healthy and clear. I'm trying to reach the fans and the public with a clean look. "His words that he considers "the purest heart is the biggest weapon" seem to express SHINee's Minho the most accurately.

On the other hand, he does not clearly define himself

'I still want to keep it as a secret what I am," he said. The reason is that "I want to see and hear more of their views and opinions because me, my fans, and the public may think differently."

His serious and honest temper is revealed again.

My controversial Kdrama opinions

1. Ko Moon Young was just a psychologically messed up girl. She isn't the 'girlpower' or 'badass' that the Kdrama fandom likes to dub her into.

2. In 'Hotel del Luna', they could've just chucked the entire character of Gu Chansung out of the window and gave Chang Myung a rebirth/rebirths,make him go through various trials and tribulations to repent and earn Man Wol's forgiveness. Didn't have to make it unnecessarily tragic.

3. Unnecessarily tragic reminds me, the 'realistic' ending of 2521 was a JOKE. There was NO point of developing such a power couple if they were to break up for such a mundane reason.

4. Romance genre isn't Song Kang's 'thing'. He shines better as an actor in non-romance genres.

5. Had they focused on developing Ju Kyung as an individual character who finally learns how to completely take a stand for herself instead of dangling her between Suho and Seojun, 'True Beauty' would've become a more popular and appreciated drama.

6. The love line between Hwang InYeop and Seo Hyun Jin's character in 'Why her: Oh Soo Jae' was absolutely unnecessary and awkward.

7. Jo Bo Ah and Ahn Bo Hyun and an amazing chemistry in 'Military Prosecutor: Do Bae Man'. However, they could've developed a slowburn romance between them instead of abruptly putting a kiss sequence in the last episode out of nowhere.

8. In 'Snowdrop', Eun Young Ro forgiving Soo Ho later on didn't make sense. Their kiss sequence was purely fan service,nothing else.

9. Individual acting aside,Kim Hye Yoon had more chemistry with Lee Jae Wook(2nd lead) than Rowoon(main lead) in 'Extraordinary You'.

10. Writers are overusing 'Let's kill off the main character and make the show tragically memorable' trope wayyy too much.

11. As much as it physically hurts me given the chemistry of the actors,Choi Do Il and Oh In Joo not having any proper romantic sequence till the end of 'Little Women' makes sense to the storyline(the shipper me might've wanted a hug though).

12. Also the writers should stop doing the 'lets make the second lead better than the main lead'. Its annoying to see one person actually making sincere effort for the girl but the girl ends up totally ignoring their effort and like the ML. Not in just Kdramas but in all sorts of dramas. I actually saw a Chinese drama where the second lead finally turned into a villain. I LITERALLY commented 'good for him' lmao.

13. Sunho in 'Cheer Up' is problematic. Neither his sad backstory nor his sincere feelings for Haeyi changes that fact.

14. The Heirs(2013) drama wasted an opportunity to pair Young Do(Kim Woobin) with Yoo Rachel(Kim Jiwon). No, they didn't need to be 'siblings'. I'd have chosen the two heartbroken yet sassy and tough people romance over the sappy romance of the main couple in a heartbeat. And the actors would've NAILED it.

15. Jojo not ending up with Sunho in 'Love Alarm' finally broke the 'Cinderella and Prince Charming' fairytale trope of Kdramas. That girl was too messed up in the head . She didn't need the rich,fierce and impulsive lover, but the quite,patient and thoughtful one. So don't go ahead and say the ending sucked. Maybe they could've made things more coherent, but no the ending didn't suck.

16. Moon Dong Eun should have remained single, with the last episode ending with him crossing paths with Do Yeong, with Yeonjin & gang & all the revenge agenda gone, she could hv offered him a smile and a game of Go, keeping an open ending for them. Lee Do Hyun was fabulous in playing Yeojeong and their chemistry was amazing. But they could hv just been partners in crime with their teamwork without the romantic plot between them.

17. No. Ryu Shi Oh doesn't give second lead syndrome. Byun Woo Seok is a very good actor but he plays the villain in 'Strong Woman Kang Nam Soon' and not anti-hero. Lee Yoo Mi and him should be paired opposite to e/o in some other project in the future but Shi Oh and Nam Soon ain't the 'enemies to lovers' you think it is.

18. After Byun Woo Seok's popularity skyrocketed with 'Lovely Runner', many people dug up his previous works & lamented over not noticing him earlier. People even felt sad that he got his recognition late. But honestly, he wasn't very noticeable as an actor in his earlier stages imo. He kept working hard on his acting skills to get to where he is now. What I applaud about him is not giving up & putting the efforts in all right places but he didn't start from a 100.

The Heirs was the first ever kdrama that I have watched. And for some reasons, it struck me big time. I don't know, I just love it so dearly. It is literally that show that started it all for me. It was like an avenue that brought me into the kdrama and kpop world.

The Heirs was also the reason that I got to read a lot of fanfics. It really had me yearning for more of the story as I was looking for justice for the small yet mighty ship – YoungSang. And I must say it's amazing to have found out that there are lots of awesome fanfic writers here and there. I've also discovered AO3, AFF, and huh would you believe that it was also the reason why I decided to create a Tumblr account!

Through The Heirs, I also got to know my favorite squad: Lee Minho, Park Shinhye, Kim Woobin, Kang Minhyuk, Krystal, Kang Haneul, Kim Jiwon, and Park Hyungsik. Back in those days, the rest of this squad were not as popular as Minho and Shinhye in terms of acting career. But you see, they're all soaring high now – being the lead actors and actresses in their own individual projects. And when I look back and realize that I've literally been there with them as their names became bigger and bigger, I feel like a proud friend. It makes me emotional.

I guess it really is safe to say that The Heirs really became a huge chunk of who I am today.

Earlier, I've witnessed one person from my favorite squad getting married.

It feels surreal.

Hearing Lee Hongki sing one of The Heirs OST amplified all these emotions.

Look at that, Kim Tan-nim attending our Eunsang's wedding. I would have gone crazy if Choi Youngdo was there too.

As I was scrolling through more photos from the wedding, I came across old photos from The Heirs and for some reasons, there were tears in my eyes.

It's been 8 years now, but the squad and that show still holds a very special place in my heart.

And I don't think that would ever change. So I am here to see all of them reach their individual milestones in life.

Today all our ships might have completely sunk, but our heroine has finally found her real anchor. It's not a midsummer night's dream anymore, our Eunsang, as it was not the Prince on a white horse nor the Black Knight that was holding your hand. Be happy always.

💛The Devil’s Game - Got No Jams - Park Jimin - This whole story is so fucked up but in the BEST way ! As someone who loves Yandere!aus, this fic really hit the spot , it’s angsty and dark and violent and just undeniably amazing !! It is VERY graphic though so I would warn you to be cautious if you’re sensitive...

💛Bewitched - Chimchim excuseme - Park Jimin - This fic is still ongoing but I LOVE it so of course I had put it on the list !! It’s a vampire!au but not like how you’d expect, and it features Kim Woobin sooo 🥰

💛Detention - BeyondTheSurface2 - Jeon Jungkook - Came for the smut, stayed for the story. Typical Friends with benefits trope, except there’s NOTHING typical about this story at all. This writer is so talented and is definitely worth checking out.

We Are Bulletproof - BeyondTheSurface2 - Min Yoongi - Again another amazing story from this writer; this series is ongoing but I’d still recommend giving it a watch and getting hooked. Plus, Gang boss Yoongi… enough said.

💛The Black Prince - Jimin’s Darling - Kim Taehyung - Prepare to cry. This series is so emotional it will grip your heart and squeeze every last piece out. It does have some sensitive themes so watch with caution, but I definitely recommend it, the author is also considering turning it into a novel so please go show it some love.

Through Your Veins - ArianaJK - Jeon Jungkook - Another sensitive story but still an amazing one! I loved every moment of this story and is for sure a good one to watch when you’re in the mood to cry.

💛Obsession - -ShaniraJi- - Park Jimin - OH MY GOD THIS STORY!! I love it SO MUCH!! Tsundere Jimin anyone?? The character development throughout the series is amazing and will give you all the feels. It’s funny and fluffy and just perfect!

Bloodlust - ChristianChimChim - Park Jimin - Another Vampire!au, I don’t usually ‘love’ these types of au!s but the two on this list are the exception! This story has two whole series’ and a whole series on the backstory too. (I cried so hard at the ending omg)

Scarring - Kookie Over Oreos - Jeon Jungkook - This is the fic that introduced me to Day6 and my love for Brian !! Baekhyun and IU feature in this story too. It gave me all the feelings and ugh just watch it, I can’t even describe how much I love this...

Tracings On The Wall - Kookie Over Oreos - Kim Taehyung - An ongoing series by the same author, So far I've cried so much and fallen in love with Taehyung all over again, I Just want to give his character a hug...

💛Attraction - -haruaerin - Jeon Jungkook - This is my favourite Jungkook vidfic, perhaps because I relate to the characters a lot... It’s funny and sad and emotional all in one. I always go back and watch this fic when I’m feeling particularly dark and twisty because somehow it makes me feel less alone??

Just A Playboy - Bangtan Knights - Park Jimin - We all love a badboy turned good trope right? Jimin is an asshole at the start of this but his character development is amazing! EXO and Seventeen feature in this too (EXO and Bangtan fighting over MC anyone??)

Butterfly - VKookie - Kim Taehyung - The storyline for this pic is a little complicated at first, and is kind of left up to interpretation but that’s just another reason why I LOVE THIS FIC SO MUCH !! The angst is INCREDIBLE , I cried so many times watching each part, it will 100% break your heart. If you love some BTS pain, then this fic is one of the best!!

EXO :

💛Your Destiny - Taeminga_ - Park Chanyeol - We love cryiinggg. This author has so many incredible EXO and NCT fics but this one is for sure my favourite. I love Chanyeol’s character so much and want to hug him so bad. (Secret time - I screamed a little bit at the ending because OW MY HEART, but the author actually did two endings so my heart was saved)

GOT7 :

I Like You - x Jenni x - Im Jaebum - If you’ve never ventured into YouTube fics then you’re seriously missing out on Jenni! She consistently puts out the most amazing stories for so many different groups. She’s had some trouble on her channel recently so could really do with her remaining stories getting some love! This JB fic is one of my favourite Got7 fics EVER, Tsundere JB just owns my soul, there’s so many twists and ups and downs!

Unreachable - Igot Bangtan7 - Mark Tuan - Oof where do I even start with this fic... it is EMOTIONAL! Maybe because I struggle with TA so I relate to Mark’s character a bit more? It also has some sensitive and triggering themes so be cautious..

Monsta X :

💛Made To Love You - x Jenni x - Lee Jooheon - Out of all of Jenni’s fics, this is by far my favourite. Werewolf Monsta X featuring Shinee. Things are always awkward when your mate isn’t who you want it to be, especially when they’re human right?

If You Do , All In - Dee’ Lavender - Lee Hoseok - This fic was a trip! Gang!aus are slowly becoming my favourite trope ever! Wonho and MX are amazing and Got7′s character development is beautiful...
