I just realized that Lin gave Shallan an aluminum necklace when he got remarried. Could this have been an attempt to 'short circuit' her bond with Testament and provide some measure of protection against Shallan? Or was it just an expensive gift?

Also, it's a testament (haha) to how messed up Shallan is that she didn't even register the scream she must have heard from Testament when she killed Tyn, unless Testament doesn't scream?

So today I exercised, like real stuff, and picked up a little of my floor. I feel like I've done good. Now I think I should get to read Words of Radience for the rest of the day, rather than crappy food. I'm not perfect on the fasting but I am doing better.

Oh! And I didn't feel like I needed to do my whole body every day, just switching days between upper and lower.

Kin's physical body was completely hollow of EVERYTHING, best way I can describe it is

If you have Hollow surgery, it'd be normal, they have blood, bones, and organs. However Kin, if Kin got surgery, their insides would all be void goop

that's regarding Kin's body, Kin's shade is everything their body isn't, they have emotions, a voice, a mind, and an attitude LMAO

Kin has been sealed away since they were 5-6 years old, so they basically grew up wondering around the dream realm :)

Some thoughts on the Stormlight Archive:

(Minor spoilers for Words of Radiance and Dawnshard)

In the Stormlight archive, every surgebinder has access to healing magic. This healing magic can heal your body from pretty much any injury, to an extent. But importantly, the way in which it heals your body is into the shape of your soul. Souls in the Cosmere are a composite of the different things that make you you: a web of pieces of identity, a mixture of things that were imposed upon you and things you believe about yourself. The soul is in flux, is dynamic, and is constantly changing. But at the end of the day, it is still your soul.

In Words of Radience, we are briefly introduced to the king of a small nation who any modern day observer would identify as a trans man. He is seen and treated by his people as a man, and expects to be referred to as such. His manhood is never questioned by his subjects, nor by the narrative.

A few books later, in the novella Dawnshard, we learn that the King has become a surgebinder. And because of this, his body has changed. His once female body has become totally and completely genetically and physically male.

This is important. In the Cosmere, your soul is shaped like you, and is a reflection of what you are. This to me suggests that Brandon Sanderson is a trans ally in the deepest sense of the word. Brandon Sanderson, in his work, does not merely believe that trans people are trans. Here, he shows that, in no uncertain terms, he believes that trans men are, deeply, profoundly, on a fundamental level, men.

Thank you Brandon for your wonderful works. I look forward to seeing more LGBTQ rep from you in the future, as you have already shown you have a profound sensitivity to depicting queer experiences. It would be fun to see how queer people exist in the cosmere, and I am excited to see what you have in store.

I'm rereading the hands of the emperor, and I've gotten to the part were we see his radiency's private study. In struck by the... The metaphor of it. The inner man and outer man, the one small inner room, drowning in the outer chambers.

But also by the parallel between his radiency having this one space he really occupies and decorated, and cliopher bringing his much loved, comfortable, shaggy furniture into his new huge and well appointed residency.

The ways and reasons the two mean are... Not fully able to be themselves are immensely different.

But they still aren't able to.

I... I don't think I've even begun to really put this thought into words. But it's... Striking. Heartbreaking, beautiful, full of love like everything between these two. Companionable and lonely at the same time...

I just... Damn.

So I got spoiled on/figured out some stormlight shit.

Spoilers for Oathbringer and maybe rhythm of war.

Mainly The Thrill being caused by one of the unmade, but I already thought that The Thrill was just caused by Odium. Anyways that means that the unmade in Kholinar also could have arrived before the everstorm. Now this completely ruins that one interlude in WOR as it completely dismisses the queen actions, and ruins the drama of Elhokar potentially realizing his wife is not a good person.

Things I'm currently obsessed with: I've started editing the 2nd and 3rd books of Honor's Outcasts, so my obsession has shifted a bit onto that rather than Mortal God. Other than that, I suspect my clone wars fixation is going to come back in full force very soon
