Sharon and Woodrow Wedding Album

It was a rainy day both in game and in the separate save I made for Sharon and Woodrow's wedding album! They had a larger bridal party than I normally have because Sharon is so close with Brianna, Precious and Ida, and I decided to go more pastel for spring! I had some trouble at first because I chose the resort for the location and couldn't get any interactions to show with the pose player...until I realized they had to check in...so I deleted the front desk.

“Recently, the term "Israeli settler colonialism" has gained widespread usage among scholars, academics, professors, and writers.

Settler colonialism is an important concept because it helps explain the core identity not only of Israel but also of its ‘chief benefactor’, the United States.

Indeed, the shared identity as settler colonial states goes a long way toward explaining the “special relationship” between the two nations as well as the history of war crimes and genocide in the Middle East.

Surveying changes that were remapping the world as a result of the First World War, President Woodrow Wilson declared that “Jewish Palestine” should “never go back to the Mohammedan apache.”

By linking Arab Muslims with the southwestern Indian tribe, which had relatively recently been violently subdued by the United States, Wilson invoked the shared history of settler colonialism.

Just as American settlers had “tamed” their own frontier — “Winning the West,” as Theodore Roosevelt put it in his multi-volume pop history— many Americans assumed that the Zionists were on a similar mission of settling and bringing civilization to the backward Islamic world.

Israel and the United States, like nearly all societies, create mythological histories for themselves — a “usable past”— that puts a positive spin on history, thereby obscuring more critical analysis and understanding.

America, for example, likes to think of itself as the “land of the free,” yet the nation sanctioned slavery at its founding, clung to it long after most nations ended inhumane practices, and today has the highest rate of incarceration in all the world.

Zionists likewise bristle over application of the term settler colonialism to Israeli history.

Conventional colonialism, normally associated with the British empire and other European colonisers, centered on economic exploitation of colonies for profit, settler colonies are altogether different.

In the 19th century, Europeans carved up China and competed in the imperial “scramble for Africa” in order to exploit those lands for profits to take back home.

Settlers, however, come to stay in a new land, rather than merely to exploit its natural resources.

Settlers cultivate racial, religious and nationalist frameworks that serve to justify the takeover of lands on which other people already live, “God’s chosen people.”

They assume new identities as chosen peoples who believe they are destined or divinely sanctioned to inherit a new land, which they sometimes even depict as an “uninhabited”, “land without a people…”

One of the most important aspects to understand about settler colonialism is that it is a zero-sum game: settlers do not intend to share the land with indigenous people, rather they intend to ethnically cleanse them in order to establish sacred homelands of their own. — #Thieves …

I'd Like Mine In the Rocks

It's the last day of spring! Jubel!!! I thought I heard something last night before Rayne went to bed, I thought it was the tv breaking, but didn't see anything. It was Jubel hacking up a hairball that she is now eating.

Howard got an opportunity to help out at the grocery store and we're all about that extra cash so off he went!

When he got back he ran off to a party at Shayne's...with Rob, whom he promptly left in the grass in the rain...facepalm.

Where else would everyone gather, but in the bathroom... and Joanna! I know that is not your normal formal wear!

Hmm...It's I wonder if Shayne ever got over his feelings for Joanna. Poor guy, she's happily married so he's been friend zoned for life.

More coupling up and it looks like I'm going to have to stage another wedding album! I was wondering when these two would tie the knot, they've been engaged for like a year!

Rayne was back at work again.

In the meantime, it looks like the wedding party went well and Marsha gave birth!

Love Day Dates

Well, after that buggy day, the next day was Love Day! Since most of my Sims are partnering off and getting busy with family life I don't throw them many big blow outs anymore so Edith opted for a quiet evening with Clark. Their date went well, but right after she got a call from Corinna to head to a party at the Jones household.

Was this a party or was Edith expected to babysit? Hey why is she getting yelled at?

Everything seems to be in order now!

Or not!!! Edith began FLIRTING with Thomas! Right in front of Corinna! Was that what the notification from Corrina was about!? Facepalm. Edith!

Goodbye to Fall

It's a chilly morning to start the last day of fall. Bundle up Cristina!

Alicia went down to the java hut to work and send texts to Kyle.

Cristina was exhausted and sore after her workout so she slept in.

What!!?? No! I won't allow it! He and Sharon just literally got married last round and they're quite happy together! Be good Cristina! Ignore this!!

Okay, so seeing as Cristina is bff's with Brianna and went on vacation with her I tried to get her to hang out with Brianna, but their schedules just wouldn't work out! So at least she gave her a call to chat, I don't want their friendship to fizzle.

Alicia got an opportunity to give one of her books to Clark, just leveling up! She's a boss! I never would have guessed how successful and prolific she'd become when I was playing that first rotation! You go girl!

With literally no one available to hit the town, Cristina headed to the Neptune Lounge on her own again and finished out this round by getting into an argument with the bartender! To be fair, he did start it!

What the Heck happened Here!

Woohoo! Cristina's household is up next in rotation! Over the years Joanna, Alyson and Jess have all moved out to start their own lives so it's just Cristina and Alicia now. WOW! Girls! What happened here!? Why is there rotting food everywhere!?

The girls were already doing well financially due to Alicia's success writing, but I checked inventory and it looks like Cristina has been BUSY! She is a criminal and kleptomaniac after all. Hmm...this could come in handy, I was going to just redecorate, but why redecorate when you could just move on up!

I moved them into what was once (long ago) the home of Howard, Billie, Dimitri and Terrell and set to work converting it from 1 bed 1 bath to 2 bed 2 bath!. Seems a good time to catch up on some neighborhood relationship news. OMG! Edith and Clark! In round two I was sorta hoping these two would get together, but Clark got back together with Jess which of course didn't work out. On a side note, definitely NOT surprised about Alyson and Terrell, these two have major fights ALL the time! It may be time to push dates with different sims once I get to their household.

Well, both bedrooms are decked out in the girl's favorite colors...

Time for the first floor perhaps? And I gave Alicia a new look, but it's not quite her personality...hmm... I need to go on a cc shopping spree.

Alicia went to the festival and ran into Kyle. Her on again off again, currently off, boyfriend. I'm honestly not sure why these two break up all the time they seem compatible and I've never received a notification of them fighting.

They immediately started flirting again. Is she just not attracted to him?

Nope! That's definitely not it! It's kind of sad! These two really should get back together and stay that way.

They hugged goodbye and it was off to the basecamp lot for Alicia for some quiet study time.

Meanwhile, Cristina was playing chess and trying to flirt with Woodrow! Cristina! Don't you dare break up his happy marriage!

Oh wow! This is new! I mean, these two have been good friends for years and I'm glad Brianna is moving on, but I don't know that I'd ever put these two together as a couple...hmm, we'll see where this goes!

Catch me Ridin Dirty

Heeelllooo Tumblr!  I know I have been gone for about six months (yikes), but I thought I’d finally get around to posting some Redwood Harbor pics I’ve had on my computer since January and have just been too lazy to post.  Honestly, life has been CRAZY!  Full disclosure, it’s been so long since I even looked at these pictures and the save that I don’t remember everything that’s going on so my descriptions will be brief, but I think you’ll get the gist!  

So we’re back with the “Jones” household which is now the Bright household because Thomas moved out when he got married way back when and let’s just say we have a problem Sim. Hence the title of this post.  That’s just the song that pops into my head when i think of Harold now...LOL! So without any further adieu...

Adriana was up first for her makeover and contemplating the five memories she randomly has of getting preggers.

And Harold was stewing about his now feud with Jamie.  

Speaking of Jamie, he was up bright and early toasting some waffles.

Woodrow was practicing guitar and Kyle paid bills before heading out to work. Wow! he looks so different without the robot costume!

Probably should have been more cautious though!

It’s Harold’s turn for a makeover and he seems to be hitting it off with Armando!

Season of Love

It’s still dark and my SP is sending me a ton of notifications!

Two engagements and two more break ups! It’s about time is all I’ve got to say about Adriana and Jamie! 

If I remember correctly this is the only time they have broken up and Jamie is a dog! He’s had a fling with Harold and flirts consistenly with Christina. Adriana, you can do so much better!

I’m sad about Clark and Jess, especially with a little one on the way, but they seem to be on a schedule of breaking up and getting back together too.  We’ll see what the future holds.

It’s Billy’s turn to get up with Forrest. Aww, some cute cuddle time!

Man, Looks like we won’t be playing through a wedding with these two, but I have to agree with the notification...about dang time!

Phew! Billy is a collector so I had him send off a bunch of his collectables to smelt and cut. They were running low on money between the mini makeover of their room and the money to have his collection processed, but it paid off! I think we can get Otis a condo before this season is done :)

The sun is finally rising on day two! Marsha’s Bachelorette Party is tonight, and the Wedding is tomorrow! Hmm... the last bachelor party I was in round one, but it was a doozy! X) I think I’ll do something low key for Marsha, maybe at the winery with her bridesmaids and a few close friends. Okay, the guest list is: Rayne of course, Bridesmaids-Precious and a woman named Ariane Ajjanagadde (a townie who is Billy’s best friend), Sheree, Corinna, Adriana and Joanna.  We’ll see who shows up...

Yeah, he’s glitched...

Hooray! Sheree has officially entered her second trimester!

Woohoo! Id has given birth! 

I have so many sims pairing off and having babies! That means the rotation is going to change/get longer, so I decided to split households to keep families and engaged couples together. When I caught up with Woodrow, he was driving to Sharon’s house to pick up his daughter Christina...because she was left outside in the snow!!! Looks like Briana was going to pick her up too.

With everyone else moved out, including Lulu (who is Sharon’s dog), Briana adopted her own pup!

Ida must have missed having a pet too, because she also adopted a puppy!

It was at this point I realized that Dmitri, who was in too poor a mood to get a promotion, was just glitched. I really really didn’t want to interfere with a cheat, but decided if he was still glitched in the morning and unable to do anything to earn a promotion, I was going to delete the moodlet.

A good day for a love letter

Day two started with a love letter from Edith’s ex, Shayne. The screenshot is super dark, but you can just make out the amusement on her face.  Sarcasm anyone? I did some digging and apparently not only did she and Shayne break up without me knowing, they broke up shortly after Corinna’s wedding! That’s over a year ago! How did I miss that?

Wait a minute! Corinna and Thomas are married with a baby! How long has it been since you two ladies checked your mail!?

Oh boy! A rude awakening after a night of very little sleep! Welcome to motherhood, Precious!

Edith enjoyed some solitude with an early morning fishing session, then it was off to the gym again!

Precious had just hired a babysitter when she got home. She’s not staying long though, she has plans with her bestie, Christina!

Farewell to Fall

Harold was first up watching the news, but it wasn’t long before everyone else began to wake. He’s gotten to the point where he can hardly stand most of them.

As soon as Adriana and Jaime got up, he cleared out!

And began harassing the first sim he ran into which just happened to be Reggie.

Woodrow got up to dance first thing in the morning as per usual!

After work, he headed straight to the karoke bar for some frog legs and festivities!

Kyle and Adriana prefer a quieter pastime.

Jaime went for another leaf raking session.

Harold took a nice long run in the cool evening.

Woodrow sang his heart out for the sole sim in the place, the bartender! Until Terrell decided to show up WITH HIS SON!!
