Diane Arbus by Allison Adams
Diane Arbus (1923-1971) was an American photographer, who is best known for her black-and-white portraits of marginalized people, often thought as bizarre or unattractive by mainstream society. Diane and her husband were a successful team in fashion photography before she branched out on her own, wandering around the city, photographing the interesting New Yorkers she found on the fringes. She went to great lengths to meet her subjects and get the shot thats that she wanted, and her hard work paid off. She became admired as an artist as well as a photographer as she exhibited her work at the Museum of Modern Art and others. Diane Arbus is considered the most important female photographer of her generation and her work remains as groundbreaking and beloved today as it was then.

Photographs of the infamous Countess of Castiglione as “la Ritrosetta”, retouched by the Countess herself:
“A study for a large painted version, this photograph was summarily retouched by the countess with instructions (on the back) suggesting that the composition was intended to set off her elegant attitude and majestic gown: “The remains of a ball where fire has broken out. A chandelier on the floor, everyone in flight. Shining white satin gown, black and red grapes with dark green and red leaves”

Kasia, in colour published in Selin Magazine.
An editorial we created at Doris Land was published in Selin Magazine Issue 27 Vol 3.
Kasia and I have known each other for 6 years now, I met her when I reached out to Numa Models asking for a model for a creative. That relationship gave me a job that lasted three years. I created test images for the agency’s new models.
Connection is the glue that keeps us going, the thread that pulls us forward and I am so grateful for all of the amazing ones I have in my life.

Miruku
Marisol Mendez
Miruku focuses on the Wayuus an indigenous population from La Guajira, Colombia's coastal desert. The project examines how a combination of climate change issues and human negligence have led its various members to experience a stifling water shortage. In the region, the problem is cyclical and polymorphous. While some communities can achieve certain stability during rainy seasons, temperatures are bound to rise drying up the land again. Global warming only aggravates this, causing droughts and famine, and spoiling the facilities and installations that help source clean water.
